Abstract

A multi-stage submerged filtration system captures suspended solids from a water source. The system includes an inlet filter subsystem fluidly coupled to the water source and at least one pump. This subsystem is configured to receive the water flow from the source, capture suspended solids, both live and inert, and produce filtered water. In a first mode of operation, the filtered water flows through a first conduit to a first outlet of the system; and in a second mode of operation, it flows through a second conduit to carry the captured solids, both live and inert, to the collection subsystem, and releases the live solids back to the water source through a second outlet of the system.
