Abstract

An articulated electromechanical system designed for the recovery of residual kinetic energy in the housing of industrial rotary mills is described. The invention comprises a pivoting trailing arm driven by a constant pressure actuator, which maintains a dual-wheel head in contact with the housing. The head is characterized by having a 400 mm central safety clearance (which may vary depending on the mill size) that allows the free passage of the liner fixing bolts, preventing mechanical impacts. The captured energy is transmitted via a power train that includes a differential and a cardan shaft to a permanent magnet electric generator. The system allows the transformation of residual torque into usable electrical energy, optimizing energy efficiency in large-scale mining operations.
