Apparatus and system for the elimination of lice in infested fish and method for its use

Abstract

Apparatus (1) for guiding a fish by gravity through a treatment zone (15) in order to remove or damage an external parasite present on the fish (9). The apparatus (1) comprises: - an inlet portion (10) and an outlet portion (20); - an elongated base (2) extending from the inlet portion (10) to the outlet portion (20); said elongated base (2) forming a treatment face (20) and an opposing rear face (29); - a plurality of through-openings (21) in the elongated base (2), from the rear face (29) to the treatment face (20); and - a hot gas fluid generator (4) adapted to pass hot gas fluids (41) through the plurality of through-openings (21) in the treatment zone (15) located between the inlet portion (10) and the outlet portion (19). A system (6) comprising the apparatus (1) and a method for operating said apparatus (1) is also described.
