Abstract

A method for controlling an ammonia synthesis loop (101) or a part-load methanol synthesis loop, wherein the loop includes a converter (1), a circulation compressor (4); a main feed line (20) and a main feed valve (5) of the converter, the method includes providing a setpoint (SP1) to said at least one pressure controller (CP) or flow controller (CF), and sending control signals (OP1, OP2) with said pressure controller (CP) or flow controller (CF) to control the openings of said main feed valve (5) and said converter bypass valve (12, 18) in a coordinated or synchronized manner.
