Abstract
System, module, and method for preventing biofouling on flexible submerged surfaces (aquaculture nets and others) without abrasive hydro-washing. A support and movement subsystem, such as a trolley on a perimeter rail with a lifting mechanism, moves a conformable irradiation assembly that adapts to surface deformation. On its surface-facing side, the assembly carries germicidal radiation emitters, and on the opposite side, separation maintenance means that apply a fluid dynamic force (by reactive thrust or Bernoulli-type suction, in passive mode or in closed loop with a sensor) to maintain a substantially constant working distance from the currents, without destructive mechanical contact. A processor controls ultra-slow movement, accumulating a prophylactic germicidal dose that inactivates organic propagules before calcification, enabling operation with renewable energy sources.
