Abstract

A mobile electronic device, a method for programming data to a memory device, and a method for reading data from the memory device are provided. The mobile electronic device may include a memory device and a memory controller. The memory controller includes: an error-correcting code (ECC) encoder for encoding data; a constraint channel encoder configured to encode the output of the ECC encoder based on one or more constraints; a reinforcement learning pulse programming (RLPP) component configured to identify a programming algorithm for programming data to the memory device; an expectation-maximization (EM) signal processing component configured to receive a noisy multi-word line voltage vector from the memory device and classify the individual bits of the vector using a log-likelihood ratio (LLR) value; a constraint channel decoder configured to receive the constraint vector from the EM signal processing component and generate an unconstrained vector; and an ECC decoder configured to decode the unconstrained vector. A machine learning interference cancellation component may be based on or independent of input operations from the EM signal processing component.
