[0003] background
[0004] Wireless communication systems are widely deployed to provide various types of communication content, such as voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcasting, etc. These wireless multiple access technologies have been adopted in various telecommunication standards to provide a common protocol that enables different wireless devices to communicate at a city, country, region, and even global level. Additionally, these systems can support communication with multiple users by sharing available system resources (e.g., time, frequency, and power). Examples of such multiple access systems include fourth generation (4G) systems (such as long term evolution (LTE) systems, advanced LTE (LTE-A) systems, or LTE-A Pro systems), and fifth generation (5G) systems that may be referred to as new radio (NR) systems. These systems may use various technologies, such as code division multiple access (CDMA), time division multiple access (TDMA), frequency division multiple access (FDMA), orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA), or discrete Fourier transform spread orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (DFT-S-OFDM). For example, some wireless communication systems may use OFDMA for downlink communications and single-carrier FDMA (SC-FDMA) for uplink communications, as well as multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna technology.
[0005] A wireless multiple access communication system may include several base stations or network access nodes, each of which supports communication for multiple communication devices simultaneously, which may be further referred to as user equipment (UE). In some cases, a UE may communicate with multiple base stations (e.g., a transmit reception point (TRP), a panel on one or more base stations / TRPs, etc.) simultaneously. For example, a UE may receive multiple downlink messages indicated by multiple downlink control information (DCI) signals from the multiple base stations, wherein the UE is instructed (e.g., on an uplink channel) to transmit acknowledgment (ACK) information for the received one or more downlink messages. An efficient technique for transmitting uplink ACK information for multiple downlink messages received from multiple base stations is desired.
[0006] Overview
[0007] The described technology relates to improved methods, systems, devices and apparatuses for supporting data transmission reliability under multiple downlink control information (DCI) signals. In general, the described technology provides a user equipment (UE) with the ability to identify multiple DCIs received from one or more base stations indicating corresponding downlink data channels (e.g., physical downlink shared channels (PDSCHs)) for the same transport block (TB). Accordingly, the UE can transmit acknowledgment (ACK) information for the corresponding downlink data channel (e.g., in a joint feedback message or via a separate feedback message) based on an attempt to decode the TBs of the resources of the downlink data channels indicated by the multiple DCIs. In some cases, the UE can transmit an indication of the ability to receive multiple DCIs to the base station, for example, in a UE capability report (e.g., in radio resource control (RRC) signaling), wherein the multiple DCIs are received based on the indication.
[0008] When transmitting ACK information, the payload size may be fixed based on a plurality of DCIs (e.g., and corresponding downlink data channels) that the UE may receive and based on the UE's ability to combine (e.g., by using soft combining techniques) the plurality of downlink data channels. Additionally or alternatively, the UE may transmit ACK information based on a counter index for each DCI corresponding to a total number of DCIs that the UE may receive (e.g., the UE may determine that a DCI is lost based on the counter index and the total number of DCIs). In some cases, one or more of the plurality of DCIs may each include a bit that communicates whether another DCI that schedules the same TB follows each of the one or more DCIs in the plurality of DCIs, wherein the UE transmits ACK information based on the bit.
[0009] Additionally, when attempting to decode a TB, the UE may combine a downlink data channel with one or more retransmissions of the downlink channel, wherein the downlink data channel and the retransmissions are transmitted for the TB. In some cases, the processing time for decoding a TB on the resources of the downlink data channel indicated by the multiple DCIs may vary based on whether the UE transmits a joint feedback message or a separate feedback message, based on when the downlink data channel is received, or a combination thereof.
[0010] A method for wireless communication at a UE is described. The method may include: identifying the UE's ability to receive a set of DCIs for a set of data channels for a first TB, each DCI in the set of DCIs being associated with an ACK information transmission opportunity that occurs after the reception of the set of data channels; monitoring the set of DCIs according to the identified ability; receiving a first DCI and a second DCI scheduling a first TB from a base station based on the monitoring (the first DCI being received in a first CORESET of a first control resource set (CORESET) group and the second DCI being received in a second CORESET of a second CORESET group); attempting to decode a first TB on a data channel resource of a set of data channels indicated by the received first DCI and the received second DCI; and transmitting ACK information associated with the first TB to the base station during the ACK information transmission opportunity based on the attempted decoding.
[0011] A device for wireless communication at a UE is described. The device may include a processor, a memory coupled to the processor, and instructions stored in the memory. The instructions may be executable by the processor so that the device: identifies the UE's ability to receive a DCI set for a data channel set for a first TB, each DCI in the DCI set being associated with an ACK information transmission opportunity that occurs after the reception of the data channel set; monitors the DCI set according to the identified ability; receives a first DCI and a second DCI (the first DCI is received in a first CORESET of a first CORESET group and the second DCI is received in a second CORESET of a second CORESET group) scheduling a first TB from a base station based on the monitoring; attempts to decode a first TB on a data channel resource of a data channel set indicated by the received first DCI and the received second DCI; and transmits ACK information associated with the first TB to the base station during the ACK information transmission opportunity based on the attempted decoding.
[0012] Another device for wireless communication at a UE is described. The device may include means for: identifying the UE's ability to receive a set of DCIs for a set of data channels for a first TB, each DCI in the set of DCIs being associated with an ACK information transmission opportunity that occurs after reception of the set of data channels; monitoring the set of DCIs according to the identified ability; receiving a first DCI and a second DCI (the first DCI is received in a first CORESET of a first CORESET group and the second DCI is received in a second CORESET of a second CORESET group) scheduling a first TB from a base station based on the monitoring; attempting to decode a first TB on a data channel resource of a set of data channels indicated by the received first DCI and the received second DCI; and transmitting ACK information associated with the first TB to the base station during the ACK information transmission opportunity based on the attempted decoding.

[0087] Detailed Description
[0088] In some wireless communication systems, a user equipment (UE) may communicate with multiple transmit receive points (TRPs) (e.g., base stations) simultaneously. For example, the UE may monitor and receive downlink control information (DCI) signals (e.g., DCI, DCI messages, etc. via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH)) from multiple TRPs that schedule downlink data channels (e.g., physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH)) for the UE to receive downlink data from one or more of the multiple TRPs. Subsequently, the UE may transmit an acknowledgement (ACK) feedback based on a decoding attempt of the downlink data channel (e.g., ACK is transmitted if the decoding is successful, and a negative ACK (NACK) is transmitted if the decoding is unsuccessful or the DCI, the downlink data channel, or both are not fully received). Accordingly, the UE may transmit ACK feedback (e.g., in a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH)) corresponding to the downlink data channels scheduled by the multiple TRPs via multiple DCIs jointly (e.g., carried on the same uplink channel) or separately (e.g., carried on separate uplink channels).
[0089] In some cases, the UE and the TRP may use the multiple DCIs to increase the reliability of the UE's successful reception and decoding of a transport block (TB), wherein each of the multiple DCIs corresponds to the same TB. For example, as long as one of the multiple DCIs and the corresponding downlink data channel is decoded, it can be determined that the TB transmission is successful, wherein the UE may or may not perform soft combining of the multiple downlink data channels indicated by the multiple DCIs to further improve the reliability of successfully decoding the TB. However, when the multiple DCIs and downlink data channels are transmitted via different TRPs, the UE may experience problems when attempting to receive the DCIs and / or decode the downlink data channels. For example, in some cases, the UE may not expect to receive additional downlink data channels for a given feedback process (e.g., for the same TB) until the expected transmission of ACK feedback for the given feedback process ends.
[0090] As described herein, a UE may identify the ability to receive multiple DCIs from one or more TRPs (e.g., base stations) indicating corresponding downlink data channels (e.g., PDSCH) for the same TB (e.g., for the same feedback process, where each downlink data channel has the same feedback identifier (ID)). Subsequently, the UE may receive one or more DCIs, each scheduling a corresponding downlink data channel for the same TB, where the UE is then expected to transmit ACK feedback for the TB (e.g., jointly or in separate feedback messages for each downlink data channel). Additionally, the UE may attempt to decode these downlink data channels even if both downlink data channels are received before the expected ACK feedback transmission (e.g., rather than the UE being expected to receive additional downlink data channels for a given feedback process until the expected ACK feedback transmission ends). Accordingly, the UE may subsequently transmit ACK information for the corresponding downlink data channel based on attempting to decode the TB on the resources of the downlink data channels indicated by the multiple DCIs. In some cases, the UE may transmit an indication of the identified capabilities for receiving the plurality of DCIs to the base station, wherein the plurality of DCIs are received based on the indication.
[0091] When transmitting ACK information, the payload size can be fixed based on the multiple DCIs that the UE can receive (e.g., and corresponding downlink data channels) and the multiple downlink channels that the UE can combine (e.g., via soft combining), such as transmitting one ACK bit for each of the multiple DCIs plus one ACK bit for the combination. Additionally or alternatively, the UE can transmit ACK information based on a counter index corresponding to the total number of DCIs that the UE can receive (e.g., the UE can determine that the DCI is lost based on the counter index and the total number of DCIs). In some cases, the multiple DCIs may each include a bit that communicates whether another DCI that schedules the same TB follows each DCI, wherein the UE transmits ACK information based on the bit. Additionally, when attempting to decode a TB, the UE can combine a downlink data channel with one or more retransmissions of the downlink channel, wherein the downlink data channel and the retransmissions are transmitted for the TB. In some cases, the processing time for decoding TBs on the resources of the downlink data channels indicated by the multiple DCIs may vary based on whether the joint feedback message or separate feedback messages are transmitted, when the downlink data channels are received, or a combination thereof.
[0092] Various aspects of the present disclosure are initially described in the context of a wireless communication system. Additionally, various aspects of the present disclosure are illustrated by additional wireless communication systems, TB processing configurations, ACK feedback configurations, retransmission combination procedures, processing timing configurations, and process flows. Various aspects of the present disclosure are further illustrated and described by and with reference to apparatus diagrams, system diagrams, and flow diagrams related to data transmission reliability under multiple DCI signals.
[0093] Figure 1 An example of a wireless communication system 100 that supports data transmission reliability under multiple DCI signals according to various aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. The wireless communication system 100 includes a base station 105, a UE 115, and a core network 130. In some examples, the wireless communication system 100 may be a long term evolution (LTE) network, an advanced LTE (LTE-A) network, an LTE-A Pro network, or a new radio (NR) network. In some cases, the wireless communication system 100 may support enhanced broadband communications, ultra-reliable (e.g., mission-critical) communications, low latency communications, or communications with low-cost and low-complexity devices.
[0094] The base station 105 may communicate wirelessly with the UE 115 via one or more base station antennas. The base station 105 described herein may include or may be referred to by those skilled in the art as a base transceiver station, a radio base station, an access point, a radio transceiver, a Node B, an evolved Node B (eNB), a next generation Node B, or a Gigabit Node B (any of which may be referred to as a gNB), a Home Node B, a Home Evolved Node B, or some other suitable terminology. The wireless communication system 100 may include different types of base stations 105 (e.g., macro cell base stations or small cell base stations). The UE 115 described herein may be able to communicate with various types of base stations 105 and network equipment (including macro eNBs, small cell eNBs, gNBs, relay base stations, etc.).
[0095] Each base station 105 may be associated with a particular geographic coverage area 110 in which it supports communications with various UEs 115. Each base station 105 may provide communications coverage for a respective geographic coverage area 110 via a communications link 125, and the communications link 125 between the base station 105 and the UE 115 may utilize one or more carriers. The communications link 125 shown in the wireless communication system 100 may include an uplink transmission from the UE 115 to the base station 105, or a downlink transmission from the base station 105 to the UE 115. Downlink transmissions may also be referred to as forward link transmissions, and uplink transmissions may also be referred to as reverse link transmissions.
[0096] The geographic coverage area 110 of the base station 105 may be divided into sectors that constitute a portion of the geographic coverage area 110, and each sector may be associated with a cellular cell. For example, each base station 105 may provide communication coverage for a macrocellular cell, a small cellular cell, a hotspot, or other types of cellular cells, or various combinations thereof. In some examples, the base station 105 may be mobile and therefore provide communication coverage for a mobile geographic coverage area 110. In some examples, different geographic coverage areas 110 associated with different technologies may overlap, and the overlapping geographic coverage areas 110 associated with different technologies may be supported by the same base station 105 or different base stations 105. The wireless communication system 100 may include, for example, a heterogeneous LTE / LTE-A / LTE-A Pro or NR network, in which different types of base stations 105 provide coverage for various geographic coverage areas 110.
[0097] The term "cell" refers to a logical communication entity used to communicate with base station 105 (e.g., on a carrier), and may be associated with an identifier to distinguish adjacent cells operating via the same or different carriers (e.g., physical cell identifier (PCID), virtual cell identifier (VCID)). In some examples, a carrier may support multiple cells, and different cells may be configured according to different protocol types that may provide access to different types of devices (e.g., machine type communication (MTC), narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT), enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB), or others). In some cases, the term "cell" may refer to a portion (e.g., a sector) of a geographic coverage area 110 on which the logical entity operates.
[0098] Each UE 115 can be dispersed throughout the wireless communication system 100, and each UE 115 can be stationary or mobile. UE 115 can also be referred to as a mobile device, a wireless device, a remote device, a handheld device, or a subscriber device, or some other suitable term, wherein "device" can also be referred to as a unit, a station, a terminal, or a client. UE 115 can be a personal electronic device, such as a cellular phone, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a tablet computer, a laptop computer, or a personal computer. In some examples, UE 115 can also refer to a wireless local loop (WLL) station, an Internet of Things (IoT) device, an Internet of Everything (IoE) device, or an MTC device, etc., which can be implemented in various items (such as electrical appliances, vehicles, meters, etc.).
[0099] Some UEs 115, such as MTC or IoT devices, may be low-cost or low-complexity devices and may provide automated communication between machines (e.g., via machine-to-machine (M2M) communication). M2M communication or MTC may refer to data communication technology that allows devices to communicate with each other or with a base station 105 without human intervention. In some examples, M2M communication or MTC may include communications from devices that integrate sensors or meters to measure or capture information and relay the information to a central server or application, which may utilize the information or present the information to a person interacting with the program or application. Some UEs 115 may be designed to collect information or implement automated behavior of machines. Examples of applications for MTC devices include: smart metering, inventory monitoring, water level monitoring, equipment monitoring, health care monitoring, field survival monitoring, weather and geographic event monitoring, queue management and tracking, remote security sensing, physical access control, and transaction-based commercial charging.
[0100] Some UEs 115 may be configured to employ a reduced power consumption mode of operation, such as half-duplex communication (e.g., a mode that supports unidirectional communication via transmission or reception but not simultaneous transmission and reception). In some examples, half-duplex communication may be performed with a reduced peak rate. Other power saving techniques for UE 115 include entering a power saving "deep sleep" mode when not engaged in active communications, or operating over a limited bandwidth (e.g., in accordance with narrowband communications). In some cases, UE 115 may be designed to support critical functions (e.g., mission critical functions), and the wireless communication system 100 may be configured to provide ultra-reliable communications for these functions.
[0101] In some cases, UE 115 may also be able to communicate directly with other UE 115 (e.g., using a peer-to-peer (P2P) or device-to-device (D2D) protocol). One or more UEs in a group of UEs 115 utilizing D2D communication may be within the geographic coverage area 110 of the base station 105. Other UEs 115 in such a group may be outside the geographic coverage area 110 of the base station 105, or may not be able to receive transmissions from the base station 105 for other reasons. In some cases, each group of UEs 115 communicating via D2D communication may utilize a one-to-many (1:M) system, in which each UE 115 transmits to each other UE 115 in the group. In some cases, the base station 105 facilitates the scheduling of resources for D2D communication. In other cases, D2D communication is performed between each UE 115 without involving the base station 105.
[0102] The base stations 105 may communicate with the core network 130 and with each other. For example, the base stations 105 may interface with the core network 130 via a backhaul link 132 (e.g., via S1, N2, N3, or other interfaces). The base stations 105 may communicate with each other directly (e.g., directly between the base stations 105) or indirectly (e.g., via the core network 130) on a backhaul link 134 (e.g., via X2, Xn, or other interfaces).
[0103] The core network 130 may provide user authentication, access authorization, tracking, Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity, and other access, routing, or mobility functions. The core network 130 may be an evolved packet core (EPC), which may include at least one mobility management entity (MME), at least one serving gateway (S-GW), and at least one packet data network (PDN) gateway (P-GW). The MME may manage non-access layer (e.g., control plane) functions such as mobility, authentication, and bearer management of UEs 115 served by base stations 105 associated with the EPC. User IP packets may be delivered through the S-GW, which itself may be connected to the P-GW. The P-GW may provide IP address allocation and other functions. The P-GW may be connected to network operator IP services. Operator IP services may include access to the Internet, an intranet, an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS), or packet switched (PS) streaming services.
[0104] At least some network devices (such as base stations 105) may include subcomponents, such as access network entities, which may be examples of access node controllers (ANCs). Each access network entity may communicate with each UE 115 through a number of other access network transport entities, which may be referred to as radio heads, smart radio heads, or transmission / reception points (TRPs). In some configurations, the various functions of each access network entity or base station 105 may be distributed across various network devices (e.g., radio heads and access network controllers) or merged into a single network device (e.g., base station 105).
[0105] The wireless communication system 100 can operate using one or more frequency bands, typically in the range of 300 megahertz (MHz) to 300 gigahertz (GHz). In general, the 300 MHz to 3 GHz region is referred to as the ultra-high frequency (UHF) region or decimeter band because the wavelengths are in the range of from about 1 decimeter to 1 meter long. UHF waves can be blocked or redirected by buildings and environmental features. However, these waves can penetrate various structures sufficiently for macro cells to provide services to UEs 115 located indoors. Transmission of UHF waves can be associated with smaller antennas and shorter ranges (e.g., less than 100 km) compared to transmission using lower frequencies and longer waves in the high frequency (HF) or very high frequency (VHF) portion of the spectrum below 300 MHz.
[0106] The wireless communication system 100 may also operate in the Super High Frequency (SHF) region using frequency bands from 3 GHz to 30 GHz, also known as centimeter bands. The SHF region includes frequency bands that may be opportunistically used by devices that may be able to tolerate interference from other users, such as the 5 GHz Industrial, Scientific, and Medical (ISM) band.
[0107] The wireless communication system 100 may also operate in the extremely high frequency (EHF) division of the spectrum (e.g., from 30 GHz to 300 GHz), which is also referred to as the millimeter band. In some examples, the wireless communication system 100 may support millimeter wave (mmW) communications between the UE 115 and the base station 105, and the EHF antenna of the corresponding device may be even smaller and more closely spaced than the UHF antenna. In some cases, this may facilitate the use of antenna arrays within the UE 115. However, the propagation of EHF transmissions may be subject to even greater atmospheric attenuation and shorter range than SHF or UHF transmissions. The technology disclosed herein may be adopted across transmissions using one or more different frequency divisions, and the use of frequency bands specified across these frequency divisions may differ by country or regulatory agency.
[0108] In some cases, the wireless communication system 100 may utilize both licensed and unlicensed radio frequency spectrum bands. For example, the wireless communication system 100 may employ license assisted access (LAA), LTE unlicensed (LTE-U) radio access technology, or NR technology in an unlicensed band (such as a 5 GHz ISM band). When operating in an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band, wireless devices (such as base stations 105 and UE 115) may employ a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure to ensure that the frequency channel is clear before transmitting data. In some cases, operations in unlicensed bands may be based on carrier aggregation configuration (e.g., LAA) in coordination with component carriers operating in licensed bands. Operations in unlicensed spectrum may include downlink transmissions, uplink transmissions, peer-to-peer transmissions, or a combination of these. Duplexing in unlicensed spectrum may be based on frequency division duplexing (FDD), time division duplexing (TDD), or a combination of the two.
[0109] In some examples, the base station 105 or the UE 115 may be equipped with multiple antennas, which may be used to employ techniques such as transmit diversity, receive diversity, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication, or beamforming. For example, the wireless communication system 100 may use a transmission scheme between a transmitting device (e.g., the base station 105) and a receiving device (e.g., the UE 115), wherein the transmitting device is equipped with multiple antennas and the receiving device is equipped with one or more antennas. MIMO communication may employ multipath signal propagation to increase spectral efficiency by transmitting or receiving multiple signals via different spatial layers, which may be referred to as spatial multiplexing. For example, the transmitting device may transmit multiple signals via different antennas or different antenna combinations. Similarly, the receiving device may receive multiple signals via different antennas or different antenna combinations. Each of these multiple signals may be referred to as a separate spatial stream and may carry bits associated with the same data stream (e.g., the same codeword) or different data streams. Different spatial layers may be associated with different antenna ports for channel measurement and reporting. MIMO technology includes single-user MIMO (SU-MIMO), in which multiple spatial layers are transmitted to the same receiving device, and multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO), in which multiple spatial layers are transmitted to multiple devices.
[0110] Beamforming (which may also be referred to as spatial filtering, directional transmission, or directional reception) is a signal processing technique that may be used at a transmitting device or a receiving device (e.g., a base station 105 or a UE 115) to shape or direct an antenna beam (e.g., a transmit beam or a receive beam) along a spatial path between the transmitting device and the receiving device. Beamforming may be achieved by combining signals communicated via antenna elements of an antenna array so that signals propagating at a particular orientation relative to the antenna array experience constructive interference, while other signals experience destructive interference. Adjustments to signals communicated via antenna elements may include the transmitting device or the receiving device applying a particular amplitude and phase shift to the signal carried via each antenna element associated with the device. Adjustments associated with each antenna element may be defined by a set of beamforming weights associated with a particular orientation (e.g., relative to the antenna array of the transmitting device or the receiving device, or relative to some other orientation).
[0111] In one example, the base station 105 may use multiple antennas or antenna arrays to perform beamforming operations for directional communication with the UE 115. For example, some signals (e.g., synchronization signals, reference signals, beam selection signals, or other control signals) may be transmitted multiple times by the base station 105 in different directions, which may include a signal being transmitted according to different beamforming weight sets associated with different transmission directions. The transmissions in different beam directions may be used (e.g., by the base station 105 or a receiving device, such as the UE 115) to identify the beam direction used by the base station 105 for subsequent transmission and / or reception.
[0112] Some signals, such as data signals associated with a particular recipient device, may be transmitted by base station 105 in a single beam direction (e.g., a direction associated with a recipient device, such as UE 115). In some examples, a beam direction associated with transmissions along a single beam direction may be determined based at least in part on signals transmitted in different beam directions. For example, UE 115 may receive one or more signals transmitted by base station 105 in different directions, and UE 115 may report to base station 105 an indication of the signals received by it with the highest signal quality or other acceptable signal quality. Although these techniques are described with reference to signals transmitted by base station 105 in one or more directions, UE 115 may use similar techniques for transmitting signals multiple times in different directions (e.g., for identifying a beam direction used by UE 115 for subsequent transmission or reception) or for transmitting signals in a single direction (e.g., for transmitting data to a recipient device).
[0113] A receiving device (e.g., UE 115, which may be an example of a mmW receiving device) may try multiple receive beams when receiving various signals (such as synchronization signals, reference signals, beam selection signals, or other control signals) from base station 105. For example, the receiving device may try multiple receive directions by receiving via different antenna subarrays, processing received signals according to different antenna subarrays, receiving according to different receive beamforming weight sets applied to signals received at multiple antenna elements of an antenna array, or processing received signals according to different receive beamforming weight sets applied to signals received at multiple antenna elements of an antenna array, any of which may be referred to as "listening" according to different receive beams or receive directions. In some examples, the receiving device may use a single receive beam to receive along a single beam direction (e.g., when receiving a data signal). A single receive beam may be aligned in a beam direction determined based at least in part on listening according to different receive beam directions (e.g., a beam direction determined to have the highest signal strength, highest signal-to-noise ratio, or other acceptable signal quality based at least in part on listening according to multiple beam directions).
[0114] In some cases, the antennas of a base station 105 or a UE 115 may be located within one or more antenna arrays that may support MIMO operations or transmit or receive beamforming. For example, one or more base station antennas or antenna arrays may be co-located at an antenna assembly, such as an antenna tower. In some cases, the antennas or antenna arrays associated with a base station 105 may be located at different geographic locations. A base station 105 may have an antenna array having several rows and columns of antenna ports that the base station 105 may use to support beamforming for communications with a UE 115. Likewise, a UE 115 may have one or more antenna arrays that may support various MIMO or beamforming operations.
[0115] In some cases, the wireless communication system 100 may be a packet-based network that operates according to a layered protocol stack. In the user plane, the communication of the bearer or packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer may be IP-based. The radio link control (RLC) layer may perform packet segmentation and reassembly to communicate on a logical channel. The media access control (MAC) layer may perform priority handling and multiplex logical channels into transport channels. The MAC layer may also use a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) to provide retransmission of the MAC layer, thereby improving link efficiency. In the control plane, the radio resource control (RRC) protocol layer may provide the establishment, configuration and maintenance of an RRC connection for a radio bearer that supports user plane data between UE115 and base station 105 or core network 130. At the physical layer, transport channels may be mapped to physical channels.
[0116] In some cases, UE 115 and base station 105 may support retransmission of data to increase the likelihood that the data is successfully received. HARQ feedback is a technique that increases the likelihood of correctly receiving data on communication link 125. HARQ may include a combination of error detection (e.g., using cyclic redundancy check (CRC)), forward error correction (FEC), and retransmission (e.g., automatic repeat request (ARQ)). HARQ can improve the throughput of the MAC layer in poor radio conditions (e.g., signal-to-noise ratio conditions). In some cases, a wireless device may support simultaneous slot HARQ feedback, where the device may provide HARQ feedback in a specific time slot for data received in a previous symbol in the time slot. In other cases, the device may provide HARQ feedback in a subsequent time slot or according to some other time interval. Additionally, HARQ feedback may include ACK information feedback to indicate whether UE 115 correctly receives and decodes a previous transmission (e.g., if the previous transmission is correctly received and decoded, UE 115 transmits ACK, or if the previous transmission is not successfully received and decoded, UE 115 transmits NACK).
[0117] The time interval in LTE or NR can be represented by a basic time unit (which may refer to a sampling period T, for example). s =1 / 30,720,000 seconds). The time intervals of the communication resources may be organized according to radio frames each having a duration of 10 milliseconds (ms), where the frame period may be expressed as T f =307,200T s . A radio frame may be identified by a system frame number (SFN) ranging from 0 to 1023. Each frame may include 10 subframes numbered from 0 to 9, and each subframe may have a duration of 1 ms. A subframe may be further divided into 2 slots, each slot having a duration of 0.5 ms, and each slot may contain 6 or 7 modulation symbol periods (e.g., depending on the length of a cyclic prefix prepended to each symbol period). Excluding the cyclic prefix, each symbol period may contain 2048 sampling periods. In some cases, a subframe may be the minimum scheduling unit of the wireless communication system 100 and may be referred to as a transmission time interval (TTI). In other cases, the minimum scheduling unit of the wireless communication system 100 may be shorter than a subframe or may be dynamically selected (e.g., in a burst of a shortened TTI (sTTI) or in a selected component carrier using sTTI).
[0118] In some wireless communication systems, a time slot may be further divided into mini-slots containing multiple one or more symbols. In some instances, a symbol of a mini-slot or a mini-slot may be the minimum scheduling unit. For example, each symbol may vary in duration depending on the subcarrier spacing or operating frequency band. Further, some wireless communication systems may implement time slot aggregation, where multiple time slots or mini-slots are aggregated together and used for communication between UE 115 and base station 105.
[0119] The term "carrier" refers to a set of radio frequency spectrum resources having a defined physical layer structure for supporting communications on the communication link 125. For example, a carrier of the communication link 125 may include a portion of a radio frequency spectrum band that operates according to a physical layer channel for a given radio access technology. Each physical layer channel may carry user data, control information, or other signaling. A carrier may be associated with a predefined frequency channel (e.g., an Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA) Absolute Radio Frequency Channel Number (EARFCN)) and may be located according to a channel grid for discovery by a UE 115. A carrier may be downlink or uplink (e.g., in FDD mode), or configured to carry downlink communications and uplink communications (e.g., in TDD mode). In some examples, a signal waveform transmitted on a carrier may include multiple subcarriers (e.g., using a multi-carrier modulation (MCM) technique such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) or discrete Fourier transform spread OFDM (DFT-S-OFDM)).
[0120] For different radio access technologies (e.g., LTE, LTE-A, LTE-A Pro, NR), the organizational structure of the carrier can be different. For example, the communication on the carrier can be organized according to TTIs or time slots, each of which can include user data and control information or signaling to support decoding of the user data. The carrier can also include dedicated acquisition signaling (e.g., synchronization signals or system information, etc.) and control signaling to coordinate the operation of the carrier. In some examples (e.g., in a carrier aggregation configuration), the carrier may also have acquisition signaling or control signaling to coordinate the operation of other carriers.
[0121] Physical channels may be multiplexed on a carrier according to various techniques. Physical control channels and physical data channels may be multiplexed on a downlink carrier, for example, using a time division multiplexing (TDM) technique, a frequency division multiplexing (FDM) technique, or a hybrid TDM-FDM technique. In some examples, control information transmitted in a physical control channel may be distributed in a cascaded manner between different control regions (e.g., between a common control region or a common search space and one or more UE-specific control regions or UE-specific search spaces).
[0122] A carrier may be associated with a particular bandwidth of the radio frequency spectrum, and in some examples, the carrier bandwidth may be referred to as the "system bandwidth" of the carrier or wireless communication system 100. For example, the carrier bandwidth may be one of several predetermined bandwidths of a carrier for a particular radio access technology (e.g., 1.4, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 40, or 80 MHz). In some examples, each served UE 115 may be configured to operate on part or all of the carrier bandwidth. In other examples, some UEs 115 may be configured to operate using a narrowband protocol type associated with a predefined portion or range (e.g., a set of subcarriers or RBs) within a carrier (e.g., an "in-band" deployment of a narrowband protocol type).
[0123] In a system using MCM technology, a resource element may include a symbol period (e.g., the duration of a modulation symbol) and a subcarrier, where the symbol period and the subcarrier spacing are inversely related. The number of bits carried by each resource element may depend on the modulation scheme (e.g., the order of the modulation scheme). Thus, the more resource elements received by UE 115 and the higher the order of the modulation scheme, the higher the data rate of UE 115 can be. In a MIMO system, wireless communication resources may refer to a combination of radio frequency spectrum resources, time resources, and space resources (e.g., space layers), and the use of multiple space layers may further increase the data rate of communication with UE 115.
[0124] A device (e.g., base station 105 or UE 115) of wireless communication system 100 may have a hardware configuration that supports communication on a particular carrier bandwidth, or may be configurable to support communication on one of a set of carrier bandwidths. In some examples, wireless communication system 100 may include base stations 105 and / or UEs 115 that support simultaneous communication via carriers associated with more than one different carrier bandwidths.
[0125] The wireless communication system 100 may support communication with the UE 115 on multiple cells or carriers, a feature that may be referred to as carrier aggregation or multi-carrier operation. The UE 115 may be configured with multiple downlink component carriers and one or more uplink component carriers according to a carrier aggregation configuration. Carrier aggregation may be used with both FDD and TDD component carriers.
[0126] In some cases, the wireless communication system 100 may utilize an enhanced component carrier (eCC). An eCC may be characterized by one or more features including a wider carrier or frequency channel bandwidth, a shorter symbol duration, a shorter TTI duration, or a modified control channel configuration. In some cases, an eCC may be associated with a carrier aggregation configuration or a dual connectivity configuration (e.g., when multiple serving cells have suboptimal or non-ideal backhaul links). An eCC may also be configured for use in an unlicensed spectrum or a shared spectrum (e.g., where more than one operator is allowed to use the spectrum). An eCC characterized by a wide carrier bandwidth may include one or more segments that may be utilized by a UE 115 that is not capable of monitoring the entire carrier bandwidth or is otherwise configured to use a limited carrier bandwidth (e.g., to save power).
[0127] In some cases, an eCC may utilize a different symbol duration than other component carriers, which may include using a reduced symbol duration compared to the symbol duration of other component carriers. A shorter symbol duration may be associated with an increased spacing between adjacent subcarriers. A device utilizing an eCC (such as a UE 115 or a base station 105) may transmit a wideband signal (e.g., according to a frequency channel or carrier bandwidth of 20, 40, 60, 80 MHz, etc.) with a reduced symbol duration (e.g., 16.67 microseconds). A TTI in an eCC may include one or more symbol periods. In some cases, the TTI duration (i.e., the number of symbol periods in a TTI) may be variable.
[0128] The wireless communication system 100 may be an NR system that may utilize any combination of licensed, shared, and unlicensed spectrum bands, etc. The flexibility of eCC symbol duration and subcarrier spacing may allow eCC to be used across multiple spectrums. In some examples, NR shared spectrum may improve spectrum utilization and spectrum efficiency, particularly through dynamic vertical (e.g., across frequency domain) and horizontal (e.g., across time domain) sharing of resources.
[0129] In some cases, a UE 115 may communicate with multiple base stations 105 (e.g., TRPs, panels on one or more base stations / TRPs, etc.) simultaneously. For example, a UE 115 may receive multiple downlink messages indicated by multiple DCIs (e.g., DCI signals, DCI messages, etc.) from the multiple base stations 105, where the UE 115 is instructed to transmit ACK information (e.g., on an uplink message, such as ACK feedback on a PUCCH) for one or more of the received downlink messages. Efficient techniques for transmitting uplink ACK information for multiple downlink messages from multiple base stations 105 are desired.
[0130] Figure 2 An example of a wireless communication system 200 that supports data transmission reliability under multiple DCI signals according to various aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. In some examples, the wireless communication system 200 can implement various aspects of the wireless communication system 100. The wireless communication system 200 may include a first base station 105-a (e.g., a first TRP (TRP1)), a second base station 105-b (e.g., a second TRP (TRP2)), and a UE 115-a, which may be respectively as described above with reference to Figure 1 Examples of corresponding base stations 105 and UEs 115 described. In some cases, base station 105-a and base station 105-b may be two TRPs associated with the same base station 105, or different panels of the same base station 105, or different beams associated with the same base station 105, etc. Accordingly, UE 115-a may support simultaneous communication with both base station 105-a and base station 105-b. For example, as described herein, UE 115-a may include the capability to receive two (2) DCI signals or messages (e.g., or more than two DCI signals or messages), wherein a first DCI signal or message is received from base station 105-a and a second DCI signal or message is received from base station 105-b (e.g., multi-TRP transmission based on dual DCI).
[0131] As shown, UE 115-a can receive a first DCI transmitted from base station 105-a (e.g., TRP1) via a first PDCCH 205-a, the first PDCCH 205-a scheduling a first PDSCH 210-a (e.g., PDSCH1) also transmitted from base station 105-a, and UE 115-a can receive a second DCI transmitted from base station 105-b (e.g., TRP2) via a second PDCCH 205-b, the second PDCCH 205-b scheduling a second PDSCH 210-b (PDSCH2) also transmitted from base station 105-b. In some cases, PDSCHs 210-a and 210-b can be non-overlapping (e.g., in separate time-frequency resources), partially overlapping (e.g., sharing at least one of the same time-frequency resources), or fully overlapping (e.g., using all of the same time-frequency resources). For the case where PDSCHs 210 - a and 210 - b partially or completely overlap, demodulation reference signal (DMRS) symbols may be aligned and different code division multiplexing (CDM) groups may be used to distinguish the two PDSCHs 210 .
[0132] Additionally, to monitor DCI transmitted on the PDSCH 210 from different base stations 105, each base station 105 may use a different control resource set (CORESET). In some cases, the UE 115-a may support up to five (5) CORESETs. Accordingly, the UE 115-a may distinguish between base stations 105 (e.g., TRPs) based on the corresponding CORESET group of each base station 105 (e.g., as indicated by the CORESET ID). Additionally, a higher layer signaling index per CORESET may be defined that may group the CORESETs into two (2) groups (e.g., via index=0 and index=1). For example, base station 105-a may transmit PDCCH 205-a and PDSCH 210-a using CORESET group index 0 (e.g., a first CORESET ID), and base station 105-b may transmit PDCCH 205-b and PDSCH 210-b using CORESET group index 1 (e.g., a second CORESET ID). Additionally or alternatively, different (e.g., other) base stations 105 may be transparent to UE 115-a.
[0133] In some cases, UE 115-a may transmit ACK feedback (e.g., HARQ-ACK feedback) corresponding to PDSCHs 210-a and 210-b scheduled by base stations 105-a and 105-b, respectively, on a single PUCCH 215. For example, UE 115-a may transmit a joint ACK / NACK (A / N) feedback message for both PDSCHs 210-a and 210-b (e.g., carried on a single PUCCH 215). Accordingly, UE 115-a may encode and transmit the joint A / N feedback message using the same codebook (e.g., on the same PUCCH 215). Additionally or alternatively, UE 115-a may transmit a separate A / N feedback message to each base station 105 on the corresponding PUCCH. For example, as shown, UE 115-a may transmit PUCCH 215 to base station 105-a (e.g., a first TRP) and PUCCH 220 to base station 105-b (e.g., a second TRP) such that the A / N feedback is carried on separate PUCCHs. Additionally, UE 115-a may transmit PUCCH 215 (e.g., a first PUCCH) with a first beam and / or a first set of power control parameters and may transmit PUCCH 220 (e.g., a second PUCCH) with a second beam and / or a second set of power control parameters. Accordingly, if separate A / N feedback messages are transmitted in the same time slot (e.g., or TTIs of different lengths), the codebooks used to encode and transmit the separate A / N feedback messages may be separated based on the CORESET group (e.g., as indicated by the CORESET group index described above), where the corresponding DCI scheduling the corresponding PDSCH 210 is received in the associated PDCCH 205.
[0134] In some cases, one PUCCH 215 may correspond to multiple PDSCHs 210 for multiple TRPs from the same base station 105, different base stations 105, etc. Additionally or alternatively, the UE 115-a may transmit multiple PUCCHs (e.g., PUCCH 215 and PUCCH 220) corresponding to each PDSCH 210, TRP, base station 105, etc. The base station 105-a may be a serving base station 105 for the UE 115-a, and the UE 115-a may transmit the PUCCH 215 (e.g., or multiple PUCCHs 215 and 220) to the base station 105-a based on the serving base station designation. Alternatively, as described and shown above, UE 115-a may transmit multiple PUCCHs to a corresponding base station 105 from which PDSCH 210 (e.g., and corresponding PDCCH 205) is received (e.g., PUCCH 215 is transmitted to base station 105-a from which PDSCH 210-a is received and PUCCH 220 is transmitted to base station 105-b from which PDSCH 210-b is received).
[0135] Additionally, the ability to receive the multiple DCIs from the multiple base stations 105 (e.g., base stations 105-a and 105-b) can be supported by UE 115 operating in a first radio access technology (RAT) (e.g., enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) communication). In some cases, the use of the multiple DCIs can be used to improve reliability. For example, the two DCIs can schedule two corresponding PDSCHs 210 containing the same TB to enhance the chance that the TB is fully received and decoded by UE 115-a. In some cases, the same or different redundancy versions (RVs) can be used for the TBs in each PDSCH 210. Additionally, the two PDSCHs 210 can be space division multiplexed (SDM), frequency division multiplexed (FDM) and / or time division multiplexed (TDM). In some cases, the two PDSCHs 210 can also or alternatively partially overlap in the frequency domain and / or time domain.
[0136] Accordingly, the UE 115-a and the base station 105 can determine that a TB is successfully transmitted and decoded as long as one of the first DCI and PDSCH 210-a (e.g., a DCI1 and PDSCH1 pair) or the second DCI and PDSCH 210-b (e.g., a DCI2 and PDSCH2 pair) is decoded by the UE 115-a. For example, the UE 115-a can identify whether at least one of these DCI / PDSCH pairs is successfully received and decoded based on complete reception and decoding of each downlink message, and the base station 105-a (e.g., or a separate serving base station 105) can determine whether the UE 115-a receives and decodes at least one of these DCI / PDSCH pairs based on ACK feedback received in the PUCCH 215. For PDSCH decoding, the UE 115-a may or may not use soft combining of the two PDSCHs 210. When soft combining is not used at UE 115-a, UE 115-a can decode the two PDSCHs 210 individually even if both PDSCHs 210 contain the same TB. As described herein, in the case where the multiple base stations 105 (e.g., multiple TRPs) are used, different DCI / PDSCHs can be transmitted from the different base stations 105 (e.g., TRPs). Accordingly, these DCIs can be received on different CORESET groups (e.g., corresponding to higher layer indices configured as index=0 and index=1 per CORESET). Additionally, the TRPs can have the same or different physical cell identifiers (PCIs) (e.g., different panels / antenna arrays from the same base station 105 can transmit different DCIs and corresponding PDSCHs, multiple base stations 105 have the same PCI, etc.). In some cases, receptions (e.g., DCI / PDSCH) from different base stations 105 may be associated with different beams (e.g., the base station's transmit beam and / or the UE 115-a's receive beam), the UE 115-a's transmission configuration indicator (TCI) status, a quasi-co-located (QCL) relationship, etc.
[0137] The techniques described herein may be applied to different DCI / PDSCHs transmitted from different panels (e.g., of the same base station 105 / TRP) and / or different DCI / PDSCHs transmitted in different beam / TCI states (e.g., but from the same base station 105 / TRP). For example, in the case of different beam / TCI states, different DCIs may be received on different CORESET groups or on different CORESETs (e.g., when different CORESET groups are not configured so that the same CORESET group is used for each DCI, with each DCI transmitted / received on a different CORESET of the same CORESET group). In some examples, no restrictions on TCI states may be imposed on receiving different DCI / PDSCHs (e.g., each DCI or PDSCH may be transmitted with the same beam as another DCI or PDSCH), and each DCI may be received on the same CORESET.
[0138] Figure 3A and Figure 3B Examples of TB processing configurations 300 and 301 that support data transmission reliability under multiple DCI signals according to various aspects of the present disclosure are illustrated. In some examples, the TB processing configurations 300 and 301 can implement various aspects of the wireless communication systems 100 and / or 200. The UE 115 can use the TB processing configurations 300 and 301 when receiving multiple DCI 305 corresponding to the PDSCH 310 scheduled for the same TB from different base stations 105 (e.g., multiple TRPs) and transmitting ACK feedback in one or more PUCCHs based on attempting to decode the TB. For example, as shown in the TB processing configuration 300, the UE 115 can transmit a single joint PUCCH 315 for all PDSCHs 310 and attempt to decode the TB for each PDSCH 310 (e.g., in the case of attempting to combine the PDSCHs 310). Additionally or alternatively, as shown in the TB processing configuration 301 , the UE 115 may transmit a separate PUCCH 320 corresponding to each received PDSCH 310 based on attempting to decode the TBs in the corresponding PDSCH 310 .
[0139] As Figure 3A and 3BIn the example shown in , the UE 115 can detect and receive a first DCI 305-a (e.g., on CORESET group 1) and a second DCI 305-b (e.g., on CORESET group 2), the first DCI 305-a including a HARQ ID of 2 and a new data indicator (NDI) of 1, and the second DCI 305-b including a HARQ ID of 2 and an NDI of 1. Accordingly, the same HARQ ID and NDI can indicate that the two DCIs correspond to the same TB. Subsequently, each DCI 305 can schedule a corresponding PDSCH 310 (e.g., a downlink data channel) for the UE 115 to receive a TB (e.g., a downlink message / data) from the corresponding base station 105. For example, the DCI 305-a can schedule the first PDSCH 310-a, and the DCI 305-b can schedule the second PDSCH 310-b. In some cases, these PDSCHs 310 may be SDM, TDM, and / or FDM (e.g., or partially overlapped). Additionally, the UE 115 may be expected to transmit ACK information based on receiving and attempting to decode the DCI 305 and / or PDSCH 310. For example, Figure 3A As shown in , UE 115 may transmit PUCCH 315 including joint ACK feedback for two DCIs 305 and / or PDSCH 310. Additionally or alternatively, as Figure 3B As shown in , UE 115 can transmit separate PUCCH 320 corresponding to the two DCI / PDSCH pairs (e.g., a first PUCCH 320-a can correspond to DCI 305-a and PDSCH 310-a, and a second PUCCH 320-b can correspond to DCI 305-b and PDSCH 310-b). UE 115 can identify whether to transmit a joint PUCCH 315 or a separate PUCCH 320 based on an indication received from serving base station 105 (e.g., via RRC signaling).
[0140] However, in some cases, the UE 115 may be expected to receive the second PDSCH 310 (e.g., PDSCH 310-b) for a given HARQ process until after the expected transmission of ACK information (e.g., HARQ-ACK) for the given HARQ process is complete. Accordingly, if the second PDSCH 310 is received before the expected ACK transmission occurs, the UE 115 may determine that an error condition has occurred. The error condition may apply to a retransmission (e.g., the same HARQ ID and an unflipped NDI) or a new transmission (e.g., the same HARQ ID and a flipped NDI).
[0141] As described herein, if UE 115 indicates (e.g., or identifies) a capability to support multiple DCIs 305 (e.g., multiple DCIs for reliability), receives DCI 305-a (e.g., first DCI) that schedules PDSCH 310-a (e.g., first PDSCH) with a given HARQ ID (e.g., HARQ ID=2), and receives DCI 305-b (e.g., second DCI) that schedules PDSCH 310-b (e.g., second PDSCH) with the same HARQ ID (e.g., HARQ ID=2), and the value of NDI (e.g., NDI=1) is the same in the two DCIs 305 (e.g., indicating that the two PDSCHs 310 correspond to the same TB), then UE 115 can decode the two PDSCHs 310 even if the two PDSCHs 310 are not in the same TB in the corresponding PUCCH 315 or PUCCH The same is true if the expected transmission of ACK information (eg, HARQ-ACK) in 320 was previously received.
[0142] Additionally, if the two DCIs 305 are received in different CORESET groups or in different CORESETs (e.g., of the same CORESET group), if the cyclic redundancy checks (CRCs) of the two DCIs 305 are scrambled using the same radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) (e.g., cell RNTI (C-RNTI), modulation and coding scheme (MCS) C-RNTI (MCS-C-RNTI), or configured scheduling RNTI (CS-RNTI) for the two DCIs 305), if the UE 115 determines the same TB size (TBS) to use for the two PDSCHs 310 (e.g., which have the same HARQ ID and NDI) based on scheduling information (e.g., number of RBs or symbols, number of layers, MCS, etc.) in the corresponding DCIs 305, or a combination thereof, the UE can perform the above techniques. Accordingly, if one or more of the foregoing conditions are not met, the UE 115 (eg, and the base station 105) may determine that an error situation has occurred (eg, a different PDSCH 310 for a different TB is received before an ACK feedback for the first PDSCH 310).
[0143] Figure 4An example of an ACK feedback configuration 400 that supports data transmission reliability under multiple DCI signals according to various aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. In some examples, the ACK feedback configuration 400 can implement various aspects of the wireless communication system 100 and / or 200. The UE 115 can use the ACK feedback configuration 400 when receiving multiple DCI 405 corresponding to the PDSCH 410 scheduled for the same TB from different base stations 105 (e.g., multiple TRPs) and transmitting ACK feedback in the PUCCH 415 (e.g., or a corresponding separate PUCCH) based on attempting to decode the TB.
[0144] For ACK feedback (e.g., HARQ-ACK feedback) when receiving multiple DCIs 405 (e.g., multi-DCI), the payload of the ACK feedback may depend on whether the two DCIs 405 schedule the same TB resources in two cases of joint feedback through one PUCCH resource (e.g., PUCCH 415) or separate feedback on two PUCCH resources. Accordingly, if one of the DCIs 405 is not detected, the uplink control information (UCI) payload (e.g., a payload including the ACK feedback) size may change.
[0145] In some cases, the UE 115 may support and enable soft combining. In this way, in addition to the separate A / N feedback per PDSCH 410, the combined A / N result under soft combining may also be reported. For the joint feedback PUCCH 415, the UE 115 may report A / N feedback for the first PDSCH 410, A / N feedback for the second PDSCH 410, and A / N feedback corresponding to the soft combination of the two PDSCHs 410 (e.g., A / N feedback for PDSCH 1, A / N feedback for PDSCH 2, and A / N feedback for the combined PDSCH). Additionally or alternatively, for separate A / N feedback via two PUCCH resources, UE 115 may use a first PUCCH resource to report A / N feedback for a first PDSCH 410 and A / N feedback corresponding to a soft combination of two PDSCHs 410 (e.g., A / N feedback for PDSCH 1 and A / N feedback for the combined PDSCH), and may use a second PUCCH resource to report A / N feedback for a second PDSCH 410 and A / N feedback corresponding to a soft combination of two PDSCHs 410 (e.g., A / N feedback for PDSCH 2 and A / N feedback for the combined PDSCH).
[0146] Additionally or alternatively, the UE may signal the best beam index along with the A / N result (e.g., as part of the HARQ-ACK codebook). For the joint feedback PUCCH 415, the UE 115 may report A / N feedback for the first PDSCH 410, A / N feedback and the best beam index for the second PDSCH 410 (e.g., A / N feedback for PDSCH 1, A / N feedback and the best beam index for PDSCH 2). Additionally or alternatively, for separate A / N feedback over two PUCCH resources, the UE 115 may use the first PUCCH resource to report the A / N feedback and the best beam index for the first PDSCH 410 (e.g., A / N feedback and the best beam index for PDSCH 1), and may use the second PUCCH resource to report the A / N feedback and the best beam index for the second PDSCH 410 (e.g., A / N feedback and the best beam index for PDSCH 2).
[0147] In the absence of an indication of the ability to support multiple DCIs 405 (e.g., multiple DCIs for PDSCH reliability), such dependency may not exist (e.g., the number of HARQ-ACK bits per PDSCH is not based on whether another PDSCH is sent). Accordingly, in the absence of such dependency (e.g., the number of HARQ-ACK bits per PDSCH is not based on the operating mode), the UE 115 may transmit A / N bits corresponding to individual PDSCH decodings, or the first A / N bit may correspond to the first PDSCH 410 and the second A / N bit may correspond to the combined result, or both the first and second A / N bits may correspond to the combined result (e.g., one bit per PDSCH in all examples).
[0148] Additionally or alternatively, for a dynamic HARQ-ACK codebook (e.g., a type 2 codebook), if the DCI 405 in the last PDCCH monitoring opportunity (e.g., a time resource allocated to the base station 105 to transmit and allocated to the UE 115 to monitor and receive PDCCH / DCI 405) is lost before the expected ACK feedback transmission (e.g., in the PUCCH 415), the UE 115 may not be able to detect the lost DCI 405 through the downlink assignment index (DAI) mechanism. Accordingly, a HARQ-ACK codebook size mismatch problem may occur. Given the ability to support multiple DCIs 405 (e.g., multiple DCIs for PDSCH reliability), a network device (e.g., a base station 105) can determine that a second DCI 405 scheduling the same TB will be sent, thereby providing an opportunity to correct the HARQ-ACK codebook size mismatch problem.
[0149] As Figure 4 In the example shown in , the first DCI 405-a (e.g., DCI0) may include a HARQ ID of 1, an NDI of 1, and a counter DAI (c-DAI) of 1 (e.g., HARQ ID=1, NDI=1, c-DAI=1), the second DCI 405-b (e.g., DCI1) may include a HARQ ID of 2, an NDI of 1, and a c-DAI of 2 (e.g., HARQ ID=2, NDI=1, c-DAI=2), and the third DCI (e.g., DCI2) may include a HARQ ID of 2, an NDI of 1, and a c-DAI of 3 (e.g., HARQ ID=2, NDI=1, c-DAI=3). In addition, each DCI 405 may schedule a PDSCH 410 for UE 115 to receive a TB. For example, DCI 405-a may schedule a first PDSCH 410-a having a first TB (e.g., a regular DCI and a PDSCH), DCI 405-b may schedule a second PDSCH 410-b having a second TB, and DCI 405-c may schedule a third PDSCH 410-c having a second TB (e.g., as indicated by the same HARQ ID and NDI). Accordingly, the UE 115 may then transmit a PUCCH 415 based on attempting to decode each PDSCH 410. The c-DAI may represent an incrementing counter for each DCI 405 transmitted by the base station 105 (e.g., including regular DCI 405-a and multiple DCIs 405-b and 405-c). Additionally or alternatively, the base station 105 may configure a separate c-DAI for each type of DCI (e.g., a first incrementing c-DAI for regular DCI and a second incrementing c-DAI for multiple DCI).
[0150] In some cases, the number of bits in the PUCCH 415 for HARQ-ACK per PDSCH opportunity (e.g., for a semi-static or type 1 codebook) or per DAI (e.g., for a type 2 codebook) is increased to the maximum possible payload (e.g., a constant payload increase when the UE is configured with this type of operation) so that lost DCI may not affect the codebook size. This constant payload size (e.g., depending on the number of DCIs transmitted) can be applied to both joint PUCCH 415 and separate PUCCH resources as described above for transmitting ACK feedback, as well as to both type 1 and type 2 codebooks. For regular ACK feedback, such as for regular DCI / PDSCH (e.g., DCI 405-a and PDSCH 410-a that are not scheduled / corresponding to the second TB) or for lost DCI 405 in the HARQ-ACK report, the UE 115 may set the unused HARQ-ACK bits to NACK or '0' (e.g., or set all bits to NACK or '0' in the case of lost DCI).
[0151] Table 1 below shows an example of ACK feedback transmitted in PUCCH 415 (e.g., joint PUCCH) using a type 2 codebook (e.g., a dynamic DAI-based codebook) for the case of a dynamic HARQ-ACK codebook (e.g., type 2) with no DCI 405 loss and / or DCI 405-b being lost. Based on a constant payload size, each DAI may include three (3) bits (e.g., and based on whether the DCI 405 is part of a multi-DCI for PDSCH reliability).

[0154] Figure 5 An example of an ACK feedback configuration 500 that supports data transmission reliability under multiple DCI signals according to various aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. In some examples, the ACK feedback configuration 500 can implement various aspects of the wireless communication system 100 and / or 200. The UE 115 can use the ACK feedback configuration 500 when receiving multiple DCI 505 corresponding to the PDSCH 510 scheduled for the same TB from different base stations 105 (e.g., multiple TRPs) and transmitting ACK feedback in the PUCCH 515 (e.g., or a corresponding separate PUCCH) based on attempting to decode the TB.
[0155] As a reference above Figure 4In addition or alternative to the described process, a total DAI (t-DAI) may be incremented for two DCIs 505, even if the DCIs 505 are transmitted in different PDCCH monitoring occasions, where each DCI 505 includes a c-DAI number corresponding to the t-DAI. This option may be applicable to type 2 (e.g., dynamic) codebooks and joint feedback transmissions (e.g., because the DAI operation is separate for separate PUCCH resource feedback transmissions). In some cases, the UE 115 may detect whether the last DCI 505 is lost, but may not know whether the lost DCI 505 corresponds to a DCI 505 that schedules the same TB. If combined with the above reference Figure 4 According to the described process, the UE 115 may set all bits of the HARQ-ACK codebook corresponding to the lost DCI 505 to NACK or '0' upon detecting that the DCI 505 is lost.
[0156] As Figure 5 In the example shown in , the first DCI 505-a (e.g., DCI0) may include a HARQ ID of 2, an NDI of 1, a c-DAI of 1, and a t-DAI of 2 (e.g., HARQ ID=2, NDI=1, (c-DAI, tDAI)=(1,2)), and the second DCI 505-b (e.g., DCI1) may include a HARQ ID of 2, an NDI of 1, a c-DAI of 2, and a t-DAI of 2 (e.g., HARQ ID=2, NDI=1, (c-DAI, tDAI)=(2,2)). In addition, each DCI 505 may schedule PDSCH510 for UE 115 to receive a TB. For example, DCI 505-a may schedule a first PDSCH 510-a with the TB and DCI 505-b may schedule a second PDSCH 510-b with the TB (e.g., as indicated by the same HARQ ID and NDI). Accordingly, UE 115 may then transmit PUCCH 515 based on attempting to decode each PDSCH 510. As shown, DCI 505-b may be lost (e.g., not successfully received and / or decoded) by UE 115, but because the t-DAI in DCI 505-a also counts DCI 505-b to be sent later (e.g., in a different PDCCH monitoring opportunity), UE 115 may determine that there is a lost DCI 505 (e.g., and may place a dummy NACK at a corresponding position in the codebook). c-DAI may represent an incrementing counter of multiple DCIs (e.g., DCI 505-a and 505-b) transmitted by base station 105 that are related to t-DAI, and may not take into account regular DCIs transmitted by base station 105 (e.g., for different TBs, retransmissions of the same TB, etc.).
[0157] Figure 6 An example of an ACK feedback configuration 600 that supports data transmission reliability under multiple DCI signals according to various aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. In some examples, the ACK feedback configuration 600 can implement various aspects of the wireless communication system 100 and / or 200. The UE 115 can use the ACK feedback configuration 600 when receiving multiple DCI 605 (e.g., multiple DCIs for PDSCH reliability) scheduled for corresponding PDSCH 610 for the same TB from different base stations 105 (e.g., multiple TRPs) and transmitting ACK feedback in a PUCCH 615 (e.g., or a corresponding separate PUCCH) based on attempting to decode the TB.
[0158] As a reference above Figure 4 and Figure 5 In addition or alternative to the described process, a bit in a particular DCI 605 can convey the following information: the DCI 605 will be or has been followed by another DCI 605 that schedules the same TB (e.g., and two PDSCHs 610 are received before the corresponding HARQ-Ack feedback in the PUCCH 615). This process can be applied to a type 2 codebook because the codebook size depends on the information in the DCI 605. Additionally, the process can be applied to joint feedback scenarios. The bit can be a new field in the DCI 605 or can be a repurposed bit of an existing field. In some cases, for a regular DCI (e.g., not part of a multi-DCI for PDSCH reliability), the bit can be set to '0'. For a DCI 605 that is part of a multi-DCI for PDSCH reliability, the bit can be set to '1'.
[0159] Accordingly, if the UE 115 detects a first DCI 605 in which the value of the bit is equal to '1' but does not detect a second DCI 605 with the value of the bit equal to '1' with the same HARQ ID and NDI (e.g., before the HARQ-ACK report for the first PDSCH 610), the UE 115 may detect that one of the DCIs 605 of the multiple DCIs for PDSCH reliability is lost. Additionally, no extra bits for regular DCIs may be added. If at least one of the two DCIs 605 of the multiple DCIs for PDSCH reliability is detected, it may be determined that the codebook size is correct. This option may assume that the probability that both of the DCIs 605 of the multiple DCIs for PDSCH reliability are lost is small.
[0160] For DAI operations (e.g., including c-DAI and t-DAI), UE 115 may increment c-DAI in different ways. For example, the DAI count may be split between a conventional DCI and a DCI that is part of a multi-DCI for a PDSCH reliability scheme, where different sub-codebooks may be included in the HARQ-ACK codebook. Additionally, the DAI may be incremented for each DCI that schedules the same TB as part of a multi-DCI for a PDSCH reliability scheme. Additionally or alternatively, a joint DAI may be configured between a conventional DCI and each DCI that is part of a multi-DCI for a PDSCH reliability scheme, where the DAI is not incremented for the second DCI of the multi-DCI for the PDSCH reliability scheme (e.g., using one position in the codebook). In this case, the DAI value in the second DCI may be the same as the first DCI. Additionally or alternatively, for a joint DAI between a regular DCI and a DCI that is part of a multi-DCI for a PDSCH reliability scheme, the DAI may be incremented for a second DCI of the multi-DCI for the PDSCH reliability scheme (eg, using two positions in the codebook).
[0161] As Figure 6In the example shown in , the first DCI 605-a (e.g., DCI0) may include a HARQ ID of 1, an NDI of 1, a c-DAI of 1, and a multi-DCI flag of 0 (e.g., bits added to the DCI as described above) (e.g., HARQ ID=1, NDI=1, c-DAI=1, and multi-DCI flag=0), the second DCI 405-b (e.g., DCI1) may include a HARQ ID of 4, an NDI of 0, a c-DAI of 2, and a multi-DCI flag of 0 (e.g., HARQ ID=4, NDI=0, c-DAI=2, and multi-DCI flag=0), the third DCI 605-c (e.g., DCI2) may include a HARQ ID of 2, an NDI of 1, a c-DAI of 1, and a multi-DCI flag of 1 (e.g., HARQ ID=2, NDI=1, c-DAI=1, and multi-DCI flag=1), and the fourth DCI 605-d (e.g., DCI3) may include a HARQ ID of 2, an NDI of 1, a c-DAI of 2, and a multi-DCI flag of 1 (e.g., HARQ ID=2, NDI=1, c-DAI=2, and multi-DCI flag=1). In addition, each DCI 605 may schedule a PDSCH 610 for the UE 115 to receive a TB. For example, DCI 605-a may schedule a first PDSCH 610-a having a first TB (e.g., a regular DCI and a PDSCH), DCI 605-b may schedule a second PDSCH 610-b having a second TB (e.g., a regular DCI and a PDSCH), DCI 405-c (e.g., a multi-DCI) may schedule a third PDSCH 610-c having a third TB, and DCI 605-d (e.g., a multi-DCI) may schedule a fourth PDSCH 610-d having a third TB (e.g., as indicated by the same HARQ ID and NDI). Accordingly, the UE 115 may then transmit a PUCCH 615 based on attempting to decode each PDSCH 610. The c-DAI may represent an incrementing counter for each DCI 605 transmitted by the base station 105 (e.g., including regular DCI 605-a and 605-b and multi-DCI 605-c and 605-d). Additionally or alternatively, the base station 105 may configure a separate c-DAI for each type of DCI (e.g., a first incrementing c-DAI for regular DCI 605-a and 605-b and a second incrementing c-DAI for multi-DCI 605-c and 605-d).
[0162] Table 2 below shows an example of ACK feedback transmitted in PUCCH 615 (e.g., joint PUCCH) using a type 2 codebook (e.g., a dynamic DAI-based codebook) when no DCI 405 is lost, DCI 605-c is lost, and / or both DCI 605-a and 605-c are lost. Additionally, the type 2 codebook may include a sub-codebook for regular DCI (e.g., DCI 605-a and 605-b) and a sub-codebook for multiple DCI (e.g., DCI 605-c and 605-d). Note that for joint DAI, if both DCI 605-a and 605-c are lost, UE 115 may see c-DAI=4 in DCI 605-d (e.g., when DAI is incremented for the second DCI of multi-DCI for PDSCH reliability scheme) or c-DAI=3 (DAI is not incremented for the second DCI of multi-DCI for PDSCH reliability scheme). That is, UE 115 may determine that two DCIs 605 are lost but does not know which of the two lost DCIs 605 has the multi-DCI flag turned on.

[0164]
[0165] Figure 7 An example of a retransmission combination procedure 700 for supporting data transmission reliability under multiple DCI signals according to various aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. In some examples, the retransmission combination procedure 700 can implement various aspects of the wireless communication system 100 and / or 200. The UE 115 can use the retransmission combination procedure 700 when receiving multiple DCI 705 corresponding to the PDSCH 710 scheduled for the same TB from different base stations 105 (e.g., multiple TRPs) and transmitting ACK feedback in the PUCCH 715 (e.g., or a corresponding separate PUCCH) based on attempting to decode the TB. In the retransmission combination procedure 700, the UE 115 may not be able to perform soft combining (e.g., multiple DCI without soft combining). For example, the UE 115 may not indicate the ability of soft combining.
[0166] do Figure 7In the example shown in , the first DCI 705-a (e.g., DCI0) may include a HARQ ID of 2 and an NDI of 1 (e.g., HARQ ID=2, NDI=1), the second DCI 705-b (e.g., DCI1 on CORESET group 1) may include a HARQ ID of 2 and an NDI of 1 (e.g., HARQ ID=2, NDI=1), the third DCI 705-c (e.g., DCI2 on CORESET group 2) may include a HARQ ID of 2 and an NDI of 1 (e.g., HARQ ID=2, NDI=1), and the fourth DCI 705-d (e.g., DCI3) may include a HARQ ID of 2 and an NDI of 1 (e.g., HARQ ID=2, NDI=1). In addition, each DCI 705 may schedule a PDSCH 710 for the UE 115 to receive a TB. For example, DCI 705-a may schedule a first PDSCH 710-a having a TB, DCI 705-b (e.g., multiple DCI) may schedule a second PDSCH 710-b having a TB (e.g., as indicated by the same HARQ ID and NDI), DCI 705-c (e.g., multiple DCI) may schedule a third PDSCH 610-c having a TB, and DCI 705-d (e.g., multiple DCI) may schedule a fourth PDSCH 710-d having a TB (e.g., indicated by the same HARQ ID and NDI). However, the TBs in PDSCH 710-a, the TBs in PDSCHs 710-b and 710-c, and the TB in PDSCH 710-d may be retransmissions of the same TB. Accordingly, the UE 115 may then transmit a first PUCCH 715-a for PDSCH 710-a, a second PUCCH 715-b for PDSCH 710-b and 710-c, and a third PUCCH 715 for PDSCH 710-d (not shown) based on attempting to decode each corresponding PDSCH 710.
[0167] In some cases, both DCI 705-b and 705-c may correspond to retransmissions (e.g., the same TB was previously scheduled and A / N feedback was transmitted, such as Figure 7705-a / PDSCH 710-a in the same CORESET group as DCI 705-b). Accordingly, UE 115 may combine PDSCH 710-a with PDSCH 710-b and may separately combine PDSCH 710-a with PDSCH 710-c. Additionally or alternatively, UE 115 may combine PDSCH 710-a with PDSCH 710-b if DCI 705-a is transmitted in the same CORESET group (e.g., in a different CORESET in the same CORESET group) or the same CORESET as DCI 705-b, and may combine PDSCH 710-a with PDSCH 710-c if DCI 705-a is transmitted in the same CORESET group / CORESET as DCI 705-c. Additionally or alternatively, among PDSCH 710-b and PDSCH 710-c, soft combining with PDSCH 710-a may be applied to the latest PDSCH 710 (e.g., PDSCH 710-c) or the earliest PDSCH 710 (e.g., PDSCH 710-b). In some cases, soft combining with PDSCH 710-a may be applied to PDSCH 710 scheduled in a lower or higher CORESET ID (e.g., CORESET group index).
[0168] Additionally or alternatively, UE 115 may not decode either PDSCH 710-b or 710-c, and after transmitting the corresponding HARQ-ACK in PUCCH 715-b, UE 115 may receive DCI 705-d scheduling the same TB (e.g., through a conventional HARQ retransmission procedure, such as Figure 7705-d / PDSCH 710-d shown in ). Accordingly, UE 115 may combine PDSCH 710-d with PDSCH 710-b or PDSCH 710-d with PDSCH 710-c. Additionally or alternatively, if DCI 705-d is transmitted in the same CORESET group / CORESET as DCI 705-b, UE 115 may combine PDSCH 710-d with PDSCH 710-b, and / or if DCI 705-d is transmitted in the same CORESET group / CORESET as DCI 705-c, UE 115 may combine PDSCH 710-d with PDSCH 710-c. Additionally or alternatively, the UE 115 may combine the PDSCH 710-d to the latest PDSCH 710 (e.g., PDSCH 710-c) or the earliest PDSCH 710 (e.g., PDSCH 710-b). In some cases, soft combining with the PDSCH 710-d may be applied to PDSCH 710 scheduled in a lower or higher CORESET ID (e.g., CORESET group index).
[0169] Fig. 8A , Figure 8B and Figure 8C Examples of processing timing configurations 800, 801, and 802 that support data transmission reliability under multiple DCI signals according to various aspects of the present disclosure are illustrated. In some examples, the processing timing configurations 800, 801, and 802 can implement various aspects of the wireless communication systems 100 and / or 200. The UE 115 can use the processing timing configurations 800, 801, and 802 when receiving multiple DCI 805 corresponding to PDSCH 810 scheduled for the same TB from different base stations 105 (e.g., multiple TRPs) and transmitting ACK feedback in one or more PUCCHs based on attempting to decode the TB. For example, for the processing timing configuration 800, the UE 115 can transmit a single joint PUCCH 815 for all PDSCHs 810 and attempt to decode the TB for each PDSCH 810 (e.g., and attempt to combine the PDSCHs 810). Additionally or alternatively, as shown in processing timing configurations 801 and 802 , the UE 115 may transmit a separate PUCCH 820 corresponding to each received PDSCH 810 based on attempting to decode the TBs in the corresponding PDSCH 810 .
[0170] Conventionally, the PDSCH processing timing may be the minimum time between the end of PDSCH 810 and the start of HARQ-ACK feedback (e.g., in PUCCH 815 or PUCCH 820) and may be calculated in terms of the number of OFDM symbols as N1+d 1,1 Accordingly, N1 may depend on the processing capability indicated by the UE (e.g., capability 1 or 2) and the subcarrier spacing (SCS). Additionally, d 1,1 There may be additional factors that depend on other factors such as mapping type, number of PDSCH symbols, etc. For the case of multiple DCIs with soft combining, and if the UE 115 also indicates individual A / N results as a supplement to the A / N result corresponding to the soft combination, the UE 115 may have to perform decoding three times (e.g., increasing processing time).
[0171] As Fig. 8A , 8B 8C, a first DCI 805-a (e.g., DCI0 on CORESET group 1) may include a HARQ ID of 2 and an NDI of 1 (e.g., HARQ ID=2, NDI=1), and a second DCI 805-b (e.g., DCI1 with a separate CORESET group (such as CORESET group 2)) may include a HARQ ID of 2 and an NDI of 1 (e.g., HARQ ID=2, NDI=1). In addition, each DCI 805 may schedule a PDSCH 810 for the UE 115 to receive a TB. For example, DCI 805-a (e.g., multiple DCIs) may schedule a first PDSCH 810-a with the TB and DCI 805-b (e.g., multiple DCIs) may schedule a second PDSCH 510-b with the TB (e.g., as indicated by the same HARQ ID and NDI). Accordingly, the UE 115 may then transmit a PUCCH 810 based on attempting to decode each PDSCH 815. In some cases, the UE 115 may transmit a joint PUCCH 815 for two PDSCHs 810 (e.g., Fig. 8A Additionally or alternatively, UE 115 may transmit a first PUCCH 820-a for PDSCH 810-a and a second PUCCH 820-b for PDSCH 810-b (e.g., as shown in Figure 8B and Figure 8C ).
[0172] like Fig. 8AAs shown in , in some cases, for the joint PUCCH 815, the PDSCH processing time 825 may start from the end of the PDSCH 810 (e.g., the later of the two PDSCHs containing the same TB). Additionally, due to the additional complexity, the minimum processing timing for a given capability may increase by x symbols (e.g., PDSCH processing time 825 = N1 + d 1,1 +x). Additionally or alternatively, such as Figure 8B As shown in , for separate PUCCH 820, the A / N results corresponding to soft combining may be reported in two HARQ-ACK feedbacks (eg, PUCCH 820-a and PUCCH 820-b). Additionally, PDSCH processing time 825 may be used for two HARQ-ACK feedbacks.
[0173] Additionally or alternatively, such as Figure 8C As shown in , the A / N result corresponding to the soft combination may be reported for PDSCH 810-b (e.g., the later PDSCH). For the first HARQ-ACK feedback (e.g., PUCCH 820-a), the PDSCH processing time 830-a may start from the end of PDSCH 810-a (e.g., the first PDSCH) without an additional increase x (e.g., PDSCH processing time 830-a = N1 + d 1,1 Alternatively, for the second HARQ-ACK feedback (e.g., PUCCH 820-b), the PDSCH processing time 830-b may start from the end of PDSCH 810-b (e.g., the second PDSCH) and have an additional increase x (e.g., PDSCH processing time 830-b = N1 + d 1,1 +x). The value of x may be based on the capabilities indicated by the UE (e.g., including x=0). Additionally, PUCCH 815 and / or PUCCH 820 may not be the scheduled PUCCH / Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) for carrying HARQ-ACK, but may be the earliest possible opportunity for transmitting HARQ-ACK.
[0174] Fig. 9 An example of a process flow 900 for supporting data transmission reliability under multiple DCI signals according to aspects of the present disclosure is illustrated. In some examples, the process flow 900 can implement aspects of the wireless communication system 100 and / or 200. The process flow 900 can include a base station 105-c and a UE 115-b, which can be respectively as described above with reference to Figures 1 to 8C Examples of corresponding base stations 105 and UEs 115 are described.
[0175] In the following description of process flow 900, the various operations between UE 115-b and base station 105-c may be performed in a different order or at a different time. Certain operations may also be excluded from process flow 900, or other operations may be added to process flow 900. It will be understood that although UE 115-b and base station 105-c are shown as performing several operations of process flow 900, any wireless device may perform the operations shown.
[0176] At 905, UE 115-b may identify an ability to receive a set of DCIs (e.g., DCI signals, DCI messages, etc.) for a set of data channels for a first TB, each of the DCIs in the set of DCIs being associated with an ACK information transmission opportunity that occurs after receipt of the set of data channels. In some cases, the set of DCIs may indicate the same HARQ process, or the same NDI, or a combination thereof, for the first TB.
[0177] At 910, UE 115-b may transmit the identified capabilities in a UE capability report to base station 105-c. In some cases, the UE capability report may further indicate whether UE 115-b is capable of performing soft combining of the set of data channels. Additionally or alternatively, UE 115-b may transmit an indication of an ability to process one or more data channels in the set of data channels.
[0178] At 915, UE 115-b may monitor the set of DCIs based on the identified capabilities.
[0179] At 920, UE 115-b may receive one or more DCIs scheduling the first TB from base station 105-c based on the monitoring. In some cases, UE 115-b may receive a first DCI and a second DCI of the one or more DCIs scheduling the first TB, wherein both the first DCI and the second DCI are counted for a first total DAI for the first DCI, and wherein the first and second DCIs are not monitored in the same downlink channel monitoring opportunity (e.g., a PDCCH monitoring opportunity). Additionally or alternatively, UE 115-b may receive an indication in a first DCI of the one or more DCIs scheduling the first TB from base station 105-c indicating that base station 105-c will transmit a second DCI of the one or more DCIs scheduling the first TB. Accordingly, UE 115-b may count separately a first set of one or more DAIs and a second set of one or more DAIs, wherein the first set of one or more DAIs is associated with a DCI for a TB for which a single DCI is transmitted, and the second set of one or more DAIs is associated with a DCI for a TB for which multiple DCIs are transmitted.
[0180] In some cases, UE 115-b may receive a first DCI for a first TB from a first TRP in a first CORESET. Additionally, UE 115-b may receive a second DCI for a second TB from a second TRP in a second CORESET. In some cases, the first CORESET may be part of a first CORESET group, and the second CORESET may be part of the first CORESET group or the second CORESET group. Additionally or alternatively, UE 115-b may receive a set of DCIs from sets having different TRPs, or sets having different antenna arrays associated with the same TRP, or sets having different transmit beams associated with the same TRP, or sets having different TCI states associated with the same TRP, or a combination thereof.
[0181] At 925, UE 115-b may receive a first data signal associated with a first TB and a first DCI and may receive a second data signal associated with the first TB and the second DCI. In some cases, the first data signal may be a retransmission of a previously received data signal associated with the first TB, and the second data signal may also be a retransmission of a previously received data signal associated with the first TB. Additionally, the data channel resources may be SDM, FDM, TDM, partially overlapped, or a combination thereof. In some cases, UE 115-b may receive a first TB from a first TRP on a data channel resource of a first data channel in the data channel set. Additionally, UE 115-b may receive a first TB from a second TRP on a data channel resource of a second data channel in the data channel set.
[0182] At 930, UE 115-b may attempt to decode a first TB on a data channel resource of a data channel set indicated by the received one or more DCIs. In some cases, when receiving the first DCI and the second DCI that schedule the first TB, UE 115-b may determine that the first CRC value of the first DCI is scrambled using the same RNTI as the second CRC value of the second DCI. Additionally, when receiving the first DCI and the second DCI that schedule the first TB, UE 115-b may determine that the first scheduling information set in the first DCI matches the second scheduling information set in the second DCI, and may attempt to decode a first data signal associated with the first DCI and a second data signal associated with the second DCI based on the determination. In some cases, determining that the first scheduling information set in the first DCI matches the second scheduling information set in the second DCI may include calculating the TBS based on the first scheduling information set to be the same as the second TBS calculated based on the second scheduling information set.
[0183] At 935, after receiving the first data signal and the second data signal, the UE 115-b may perform a soft combination procedure on the data signals. For example, the UE 115-b may perform a first soft combination procedure on the received first data signal and the previously received data signal, and may perform a second soft combination procedure on the received second data signal and the previously received data signal. Additionally or alternatively, the UE 115-b may determine that the previously received data signal is associated with a DCI received in one of the first control resource set or the second control resource set, and may perform a soft combination procedure on the received first data signal and the previously received data signal, or the received second data signal and the previously received data signal based on the determination. In some cases, the UE 115-b may perform a soft combination procedure on the received first data signal and the previously received data signal, or the received second data signal and the previously received data signal based on a selection rule.
[0184] At 940, UE 115-b may transmit ACK information associated with the first TB to base station 105-c during the ACK information transmission opportunity based on the attempted decoding. In some cases, the payload size of the ACK information may be based on the identified ability of UE 115-b to receive a set of DCIs for a set of data channels for the first TB. Additionally, the type of ACK feedback may be configured as dynamic, and the payload size of the ACK information associated with each DAI is the same size. Additionally, the type of ACK feedback may be configured as semi-static, and the payload size of the ACK information associated with each candidate data channel opportunity may be the same size.
[0185] In some cases, the received one or more DCIs may indicate the same resource set used for ACK information transmission. Accordingly, if the UE is capable of soft combining, UE 115-b may transmit a first ACK bit, a second ACK bit, and a combined ACK bit in the same resource set used for ACK information transmission, wherein the first ACK bit corresponds to a first data signal for a TB associated with a first DCI in the DCI set, the second ACK bit corresponds to a second data signal for a TB associated with a second DCI in the DCI set, and the combined ACK bit corresponds to a result of soft combining the first data signal and the second data signal.
[0186] Alternatively, the received one or more DCIs may indicate different resource sets for ACK information transmission. Accordingly, if the UE is capable of soft combining, UE 115-b may transmit a first ACK bit and a combined ACK bit in a first resource set among different resource sets for ACK information transmission, and may transmit a second ACK bit and a combined ACK bit in a second resource set among different resource sets for ACK information transmission. In some cases, the first ACK bit may correspond to a first data signal for a TB associated with a first DCI in a DCI set, the second ACK bit may correspond to a second data signal for a TB associated with a second DCI in a DCI set, and the combined ACK bit may correspond to a result of soft combining the first data signal and the second data signal.
[0187] In some cases, the ACK information associated with the first TB may include a first ACK bit and a second ACK bit for the first TB, wherein the first ACK bit is for a first data signal associated with a first DCI in a DCI set and the second ACK bit is for a second data signal associated with a second DCI in a DCI set. Additionally or alternatively, the ACK information associated with the first TB may include a first ACK bit and a combined ACK bit for the first TB, wherein the first ACK bit is for a first data signal associated with a first DCI in a DCI set, and the combined ACK bit is for a combination of the first data signal and the second data signal associated with the second DCI in the DCI set. In some cases, the ACK information associated with the first TB may include a first combined ACK bit and a second combined ACK bit for the first TB, wherein the first combined ACK bit is for a combination of the first data signal associated with the first DCI in a DCI set and the second data signal associated with the second DCI in the DCI set, and the second combined ACK bit is for a combination of the first data signal and the second data signal.
[0188] Additionally, in some cases, UE 115-b may receive a third DCI that schedules the first TB after transmitting the ACK information and may receive a third data signal associated with the third DCI, wherein the third data signal is a retransmission of the first TB. Accordingly, UE 115-b may perform a first soft assembly procedure for the third data signal and the first data signal and may perform a second soft assembly procedure for the third data signal and the second data signal. Additionally or alternatively, UE 115-b may determine that both the first DCI and the third DCI are received in a first CORESET or a first CORESET group (e.g., the same CORESET group) that includes at least the first CORESET, and may perform a soft assembly procedure for the third data signal and the first data signal based on the determination. In some cases, UE 115-b may perform a soft assembly procedure for the third data signal and the first data signal, or the third data signal and the second data signal based on a selection rule.
[0189] Fig.10 A block diagram 1000 of a device 1005 supporting data transmission reliability under multiple DCI signals according to aspects of the present disclosure is shown. The device 1005 may be an example of aspects of a UE 115 as described herein. The device 1005 may include a receiver 1010, a UE communication manager 1015, and a transmitter 1020. The device 1005 may also include a processor. Each of these components may be in communication with each other (e.g., via one or more buses).
[0190] The receiver 1010 may receive information such as packets, user data, or control information associated with various information channels (e.g., control channels, data channels, and information related to data transmission reliability under multiple DCI signals, etc.). The information may be passed to other components of the device 1005. The receiver 1010 may be a reference Fig.13 Examples of various aspects of the described transceiver 1320. The receiver 1010 may utilize a single antenna or a collection of antennas.
[0191] The UE communication manager 1015 may identify the ability of the UE to receive a DCI set for a data channel set for a first TB, each DCI in the DCI set being associated with an ACK information transmission opportunity that occurs after the reception of the data channel set. Additionally, the UE communication manager 1310 may monitor the DCI set according to the identified ability. In some cases, the UE communication manager 1015 may receive a first DCI and a second DCI that schedule a first TB from a base station based on the monitoring, the first DCI being received in a first CORESET of a first CORESET group and the second DCI being received in a second CORESET of a second CORESET group. Accordingly, the UE communication manager 1015 may attempt to decode the first TB on the data channel resources of the data channel set indicated by the received first DCI and the received second DCI. Subsequently, the UE communication manager 1015 may transmit ACK information associated with the first TB to the base station during the ACK information transmission opportunity based on the attempted decoding. The UE communication manager 1015 may be an example of various aspects of the UE communication manager 1310 described herein.
[0192] Based on the actions performed by the UE communication manager 1015 as described herein, the UE 115 can increase the reliability that the TBs are successfully received and decoded. Accordingly, based on not having to request retransmissions of TBs and / or process any retransmissions of TBs, the UE 115 can save battery power.
[0193] The UE communication manager 1015 or its subcomponents may be implemented in hardware, code executed by a processor (e.g., software or firmware), or any combination thereof. If implemented in code executed by a processor, the functions of the UE communication manager 1015 or its subcomponents may be performed by a general purpose processor, a digital signal processor (DSP), an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC), a field programmable gate array (FPGA) or other programmable logic device designed to perform the functions described in the present disclosure, discrete gate or transistor logic, discrete hardware components, or any combination thereof.
[0194] The UE communication manager 1015 or its subcomponents may be physically located in various locations, including being distributed so that portions of the functionality are implemented by one or more physical components at different physical locations. In some examples, according to various aspects of the present disclosure, the UE communication manager 1015 or its subcomponents may be separate and distinct components. In some examples, according to various aspects of the present disclosure, the UE communication manager 1015 or its subcomponents may be combined with one or more other hardware components (including, but not limited to, input / output (I / O) components, a transceiver, a network server, another computing device, one or more other components described in the present disclosure, or a combination thereof).
[0195] The transmitter 1020 may transmit signals generated by other components of the device 1005. In some examples, the transmitter 1020 may be co-located with the receiver 1010 in a transceiver module. For example, the transmitter 1020 may be a reference Fig.13 Examples of aspects of the described transceiver 1320. The transmitter 1020 may utilize a single antenna or a collection of antennas.
[0196] Fig.11 A block diagram 1100 of a device 1105 supporting data transmission reliability under multiple DCIs according to aspects of the present disclosure is shown. The device 1105 may be an example of aspects of the device 1005 or UE 115 as described herein. The device 1105 may include a receiver 1110, a UE communication manager 1115, and a transmitter 1145. The device 1105 may also include a processor. Each of these components may be in communication with each other (e.g., via one or more buses).
[0197] The receiver 1110 may receive information such as packets, user data, or control information associated with various information channels (e.g., control channels, data channels, and information related to data transmission reliability under multiple DCIs, etc.). The information may be passed to other components of the device 1105. The receiver 1110 may be a reference Fig.13 Examples of aspects of the described transceiver 1320. The receiver 1110 may utilize a single antenna or a collection of antennas.
[0198] The UE communication manager 1115 may be an example of aspects of the UE communication manager 1015 as described herein. The UE communication manager 1115 may include a multi-DCI capable component 1120, a DCI monitoring component 1125, a TB receiving component 1130, a TB decoder 1135, and an ACK transmission component 1140. The UE communication manager 1115 may be an example of aspects of the UE communication manager 1310 described herein.
[0199] The multiple DCI capable component 1120 may identify the UE's ability to receive a set of DCIs for a set of data channels for a first TB, each DCI in the set of DCIs being associated with an ACK information transmission opportunity occurring subsequent to reception of the set of data channels.
[0200] DCI monitoring component 1125 can monitor the set of DCIs according to the identified capabilities.
[0201] TB receiving component 1130 may receive, based on the monitoring, from a base station a first DCI and a second DCI scheduling a first TB, the first DCI being received in a first CORESET of a first CORESET group and the second DCI being received in a second CORESET of a second CORESET group.
[0202] The TB decoder 1135 may attempt to decode a first TB on the data channel resources of the data channel set indicated by the received first DCI and the received second DCI.
[0203] ACK transmission component 1140 can transmit ACK information associated with the first TB to the base station during an ACK information transmission opportunity based on the attempted decoding.
[0204] Based on receiving one or more DCIs associated with the same TB (e.g., the first TB), the processor of the UE 115 (e.g., controlling the receiver 1110, the transmitter 1145, or as described in reference Fig.13 The described transceiver 1320) can reduce the processing power at the UE 115 by using multiple DCIs at a time to decode the TB instead of requesting retransmissions of the TB, thereby reducing the need to process retransmissions of the TB. Accordingly, the processor of the UE 115 can save power by performing fewer decodings than receiving retransmissions and decoding retransmissions in addition to the original TB transmission.
[0205] The transmitter 1145 may transmit signals generated by other components of the device 1105. In some examples, the transmitter 1145 may be co-located with the receiver 1110 in a transceiver module. Fig.13 Examples of various aspects of the described transceiver 1320. The transmitter 1145 may utilize a single antenna or a collection of antennas.
[0206] Fig.12 A block diagram 1200 of a UE communication manager 1205 supporting data transmission reliability under multiple DCI signals in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure is shown. The UE communication manager 1205 may be an example of aspects of the UE communication manager 1015, the UE communication manager 1115, or the UE communication manager 1310 described herein. The UE communication manager 1205 may include a multi-DCI capable component 1210, a DCI monitoring component 1215, a TB receiving component 1220, a TB decoder 1225, an ACK transmission component 1230, a DCI signal receiving component 1235, a soft combining component 1240, a retransmission combining component 1245, a joint ACK transmission component 1250, a separate ACK transmission component 1255, and a multiple DCI receiving component 1260. Each of these modules may communicate directly or indirectly with each other (e.g., via one or more buses).
[0207] The multi-DCI capability component 1210 may identify the UE's ability to receive a DCI set for a data channel set for a first TB, each DCI in the DCI set being associated with an ACK information transmission opportunity that occurs after reception of the data channel set. In some examples, the multi-DCI capability component 1210 may transmit the identified capabilities to the base station in a UE capability report. Additionally, the multi-DCI capability component 1210 may transmit an indication of the UE's ability to process one or more data channels in the data channel set. In some cases, the UE capability report may further indicate whether the UE is capable of performing soft combining of the data channel set.
[0208] The DCI monitoring component 1215 can monitor the DCI set according to the identified capabilities. In some cases, the DCI set can indicate the same HARQ process for the first TB, or the same NDI, or a combination thereof.
[0209] The TB receiving component 1220 may receive a first DCI and a second DCI scheduling a first TB from the base station based on the monitoring, the first DCI being received in a first CORESET of the first CORESET group and the second DCI being received in a second CORESET of the second CORESET group. In some examples, the TB receiving component 1220 may determine that a first CRC value of the first DCI is scrambled using the same RNTI as a second CRC value of the second DCI. In some examples, the TB receiving component 1220 may determine that a first scheduling information set in the first DCI matches a second scheduling information set in the second DCI, and may attempt to decode a first data signal associated with the first DCI and a second data signal associated with the second DCI based on the determination. Additionally, the TB receiving component 1220 may calculate a TBS based on the first scheduling information set to be the same as a second TBS calculated based on the second scheduling information set. In some examples, the TB receiving component 1220 can receive a DCI set from a set having different TRPs, or a set having different antenna arrays associated with the same TRP, or a set having different transmit beams associated with the same TRP, or a set having different TCI states associated with the same TRP, or a combination thereof.
[0210] TB decoder 1225 may attempt to decode a first TB on data channel resources of a data channel set indicated by the received first DCI and the received second DCI. In some cases, these data channel resources may be SDM, FDM, TDM, or partially overlapped or a combination thereof.
[0211] The ACK transmission component 1230 may transmit ACK information associated with the first TB to the base station during the ACK information transmission opportunity based on the attempted decoding. In some cases, the payload size of the ACK information may be based on the ability of the identified UE to receive a DCI set for a data channel set for the first TB. Additionally, the type of ACK feedback may be configured as dynamic, and the payload size of the ACK information associated with each DAI may be the same size. Additionally, the type of ACK feedback may be configured as semi-static, and the payload size of the ACK information associated with each candidate data channel opportunity may be the same size.
[0212] The DCI signal receiving component 1235 can receive a first DCI and a second DCI from one or more DCIs that schedule a first TB, wherein a first total DAI (e.g., t-DAI) for the first DCI counts both the first DCI and the second DCI, and wherein the first and second DCIs are not monitored in the same downlink channel (e.g., PDCCH) monitoring opportunity. In some examples, the DCI signal receiving component 1235 can receive an indication in the first DCI from the base station that the base station will transmit the second DCI. Additionally, the DCI signal receiving component 1235 can receive a DCI associated with a second TB, wherein a first payload size of ACK information associated with the first TB is different from a second payload size of ACK information associated with the first TB, and the ACK information associated with the second TB is transmitted together with the ACK information associated with the first TB. In some examples, the DCI signal receiving component 1235 may count separately a first set of one or more DAIs and a second set of one or more DAIs, wherein the first set of one or more DAIs is associated with a DCI for a TB for which a single DCI is transmitted, and the second set of one or more DAIs is associated with a DCI for a TB for which multiple DCIs are transmitted.
[0213] The soft combining component 1240 may receive a first data signal associated with a first TB and a first DCI (wherein the first data signal is a retransmission of a previously received data signal associated with the first TB), and may receive a second data signal associated with the first TB and a second DCI (wherein the second data signal is a retransmission of a previously received data signal associated with the first TB). Accordingly, the soft combining component 1240 may perform a first soft combining procedure on the received first data signal and the previously received data signal, and may perform a second soft combining procedure on the received second data signal and the previously received data signal. Additionally or alternatively, the soft combining component 1240 may determine that the previously received data signal is associated with a DCI received in one of the first control resource set or the second control resource set, and may perform a soft combining procedure on the received first data signal and the previously received data signal, or on the received second data signal and the previously received data signal based on the determination.
[0214] In some examples, the soft combination component 1240 can receive a first data signal associated with a first TB and a first DCI (wherein the first data signal is a retransmission of a previously received data signal associated with the first TB); can receive a second data signal associated with the first TB and the second DCI (wherein the second data signal is a retransmission of a previously received data signal associated with the first TB); and can perform a soft combination procedure on the received first data signal and the previously received data signal, or the received second data signal and the previously received data signal based on a selection rule.
[0215] The retransmission combination component 1245 may receive a first data signal associated with a first TB and a first DCI, may receive a second data signal associated with the first TB and the second DCI, may receive a third DCI scheduling the first TB after transmitting the ACK information, and may receive a third data signal associated with the third DCI, wherein the third data signal is a retransmission of the first TB. In some examples, the retransmission combination component 1245 may perform a first soft combination procedure for the third data signal and the first data signal and may perform a second soft combination procedure for the third data signal and the second data signal. Additionally or alternatively, the retransmission combination component 1245 may determine that both the first DCI and the third DCI are received in a first control resource set or a first CORESET group including at least the first CORESET, and may perform a soft combination procedure for the third data signal and the first data signal based on the determination. In some examples, the retransmission combination component 1245 may receive a third data signal associated with the third DCI, wherein the third data signal is a retransmission of the first TB, and may perform a soft combination procedure for the third data signal and the first data, or the third data signal and the second data signal based on a selection rule.
[0216] In some cases, the received first DCI and the received second DCI may indicate the same resource set (e.g., joint feedback / PUCCH) for ACK information transmission. Accordingly, the joint ACK transmission component 1250 may transmit a first ACK bit, a second ACK bit, and a combined ACK bit in the same resource set for ACK information transmission, wherein the first ACK bit corresponds to a first data signal for a TB associated with the first DCI in the DCI set, the second ACK bit corresponds to a second data signal for a TB associated with the second DCI in the DCI set, and the combined ACK bit corresponds to a result of soft combining the first data signal and the second data signal.
[0217] Alternatively, the received first DCI and the received second DCI may indicate different resource sets (e.g., separate feedback / PUCCH) for ACK information transmission. Accordingly, the separate ACK transmission component 1255 may transmit a first ACK bit and a combined ACK bit in a first resource set among different resource sets for ACK information transmission, and may transmit a second ACK bit and a combined ACK bit in a second resource set among different resource sets for ACK information transmission. In some examples, the first ACK bit may correspond to a first data signal for a TB associated with a first DCI in a DCI set, the second ACK bit may correspond to a second data signal for a TB associated with a second DCI in a DCI set, and the combined ACK bit may correspond to a result of soft combining the first data signal and the second data signal.
[0218] In some cases, the ACK information associated with the first TB may include a first ACK bit and a second ACK bit for the first TB, wherein the first ACK bit is for a first data signal associated with a first DCI in a DCI set and the second ACK bit is for a second data signal associated with a second DCI in a DCI set.
[0219] The multi-DCI receiving component 1260 may receive a first DCI for a first TB from a first TRP in a first CORESET and may receive a second DCI for a second TB from a second TRP in a second CORESET. In some examples, the multi-DCI receiving component 1260 may receive a first TB on a data channel resource of a first data channel in a data channel set from a first TRP and may receive a first TB on a data channel resource of a second data channel in the data channel set from a second TRP. In some cases, the first CORESET may be part of a first CORESET group and the second CORESET may be part of the first CORESET group or the second CORESET group.

In some cases, the UE communication manager 1310 may receive a first DCI and a second DCI that schedule a first TB from a base station based on the monitoring, the first DCI being received in a first CORESET of a first CORESET group and the second DCI being received in a second CORESET of a second CORESET group. Accordingly, the UE communication manager 1310 may attempt to decode a first TB on a data channel resource of a data channel set indicated by the received first DCI and the received second DCI. Subsequently, the UE communication manager 1310 may transmit ACK information associated with the first TB to the base station during the ACK information transmission opportunity based on the attempted decoding.

[0244] Fig.16 A block diagram 1600 of a base station communication manager 1605 supporting data transmission reliability under multiple DCI signals in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure is shown. The base station communication manager 1605 may be an example of aspects of the base station communication manager 1415, the base station communication manager 1515, or the base station communication manager 1710 described herein. The base station communication manager 1605 may include a multiple DCI indication component 1610, a first DCI transmission component 1615, a second DCI transmission component 1620, a first data signal transmission component 1625, a second data signal transmission component 1630, an ACK information receiving component 1635, a second TB component 1640, a joint ACK component 1645, and a separate ACK component 1650. Each of these modules may communicate directly or indirectly with each other (e.g., via one or more buses).
[0245] The multiple DCI indication component 1610 may receive from the UE an indication of the UE's ability to receive a DCI set for a data channel set for a first TB. In some examples, the multiple DCI indication component 1610 may receive a UE capability report including the indication. Additionally, the multiple DCI indication component 1610 may receive from the UE an indication of the UE's ability to process one or more data channels in the data channel set. In some cases, the UE capability report may further indicate whether the UE is capable of performing soft combining of the data channel set.
[0246] The first DCI transmission component 1615 may transmit to the UE a first DCI in a DCI set that schedules a first TB, the first DCI being transmitted in a first CORESET of a first CORESET group. The second DCI transmission component 1620 may transmit to the UE a second DCI in a DCI set that schedules a first TB, the second DCI being transmitted in a second CORESET of a second CORESET group. In some cases, the first total DAI for the first DCI may count both the first DCI and the second DCI, wherein the first and second DCI are not monitored in the same downlink channel (e.g., PDCCH) monitoring opportunity. Additionally, the DCI set may indicate the same HARQ procedure, or the same NDI, or a combination thereof for the first TB. In some cases, the first DCI for the first TB may be transmitted in a first CORESET via a first TRP, and the second DCI for the first TB may be transmitted in a second CORESET via a second TRP. Accordingly, the first CORESET may be part of a first CORESET group, and the second CORESET may be part of a first CORESET group or a second CORESET group. In some cases, the first DCI and the second DCI may be transmitted via different TRPs, or different antenna arrays associated with the same TRP, or different transmit beams associated with the same TRP, or different TCI states associated with the same TRP, or a combination thereof.

Additionally, the type of ACK feedback may be configured as dynamic, and the payload size of the ACK information associated with each downlink assignment index may be the same size. Additionally, the type of ACK feedback may be configured as semi-static, and the payload size of the ACK information associated with each candidate data channel opportunity may be the same size.
[0249] In some cases, the first DCI may include an indication that the base station will transmit a second DCI. Accordingly, the second TB component 1640 may transmit a DCI associated with the second TB, wherein a first payload size of ACK information associated with the first TB is different from a second payload size of ACK information associated with the first TB, and the ACK information associated with the second TB is received together with the ACK information associated with the first TB.
[0250] In some cases, the first DCI and the second DCI may indicate the same resource set for ACK information transmission. Accordingly, the joint ACK component 1645 may receive a first ACK bit, a second ACK bit, and a combined ACK bit in the first uplink resource set, wherein the first ACK bit corresponds to the first data signal, the second ACK bit corresponds to the second data signal, and the combined ACK bit corresponds to the result of the UE soft combining the first data signal and the second data signal.
[0251] Alternatively, the first DCI and the second DCI may indicate different resource sets for ACK information transmission. Accordingly, the separate ACK component 1650 may receive a first ACK bit and a combined ACK bit in a first resource set among different resource sets for ACK information transmission, and may receive a second ACK bit and a combined ACK bit in a second resource set among different resource sets for ACK information transmission. In some cases, the first ACK bit may correspond to a first data signal for a TB associated with a first DCI in a DCI set, the second ACK bit may correspond to a second data signal for a TB associated with a second DCI in a DCI set, and the combined ACK bit may correspond to a result of the UE soft combining the first data signal and the second data signal.
[0252] In some cases, the ACK information associated with the first TB may include a first ACK bit and a second ACK bit for the first TB, wherein the first ACK bit is for the first data signal and the second ACK bit is for the second data signal. Additionally or alternatively, the ACK information associated with the first TB may include a first ACK bit and a combined ACK bit for the first TB, wherein the first ACK bit is for the first data signal and the combined ACK bit is for the combination of the first data signal and the second data signal. In some cases, the ACK information associated with the first TB may include a first combined ACK bit and a second combined ACK bit for the first TB, wherein the first combined ACK bit is for the combination of the first data signal and the second data signal and the second combined ACK bit is for the combination of the first data signal and the second data signal.
