Abstract
This invention discloses a polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) nonwoven fabric and the filter material made from it. The nonwoven fabric contains 40-90% by weight of PPS microfibers and 10-60% by weight of PPS fibers. The average diameter of the PPS microfibers is 8-11 μm, and the average diameter of the PPS fibers is 11.5-15 μm. In the filter material made from this PPS nonwoven fabric, pores with a pore size greater than 20 μm do not exceed 25% of the total pores. The PPS nonwoven fabric of this invention has a low basis weight, and the filter material made from it has high collection efficiency and low pressure loss, making it suitable for applications in coal boilers, waste incinerators, steel, and asphalt industries.
