Surface-emitting light source and method for manufacturing the same

Abstract

The present application provides a surface-emitting light source capable of being made thinner and less light absorption by a wiring substrate, and a manufacturing method thereof. The surface-emitting light source comprises: a wiring substrate having a wiring layer on a substrate; a light guide plate having a first main surface and a second main surface opposite to the first main surface, and the second main surface is disposed opposite to the wiring substrate; a light-reflective resin portion disposed between the light guide plate and the wiring substrate; and a light source portion having an element electrode on a first surface, and a light extraction surface on a second surface opposite to the first surface, the light source portion electrically connects the wiring layer and the element electrode through an opening of the resin portion which is equal to or smaller than the size of the side surface of the light source portion in contact with the light source portion, and the light extraction surface side is disposed opposite to the light guide plate, the resin portion and the light guide plate are engaged with each other at the position of facing surfaces, and the resin portion and the wiring substrate are engaged with each other at the position of facing surfaces.
