Abstract

This invention relates to a handheld power tool, comprising a tool housing, a working element protruding from the tool housing and designed to perform working movements during the intended use of the power tool, and a motor located within the tool housing and designed to drive the working element to perform working movements during the intended use of the power tool. To provide the user of the power tool with clear and immediately visible optical information about the current operating status of the power tool, the power tool also includes at least one elongated light-emitting device having a longitudinally extending portion and at least partially located on the outer surface of the tool housing, wherein the at least one elongated light-emitting device is designed to emit light along at least a portion of its longitudinally extending portion in a direction substantially perpendicular to the longitudinally extending portion of the elongated light-emitting device.
