Abstract

The application discloses a refractometer and a method for improving the accuracy of refractive index measurement, wherein the refractometer comprises a light source unit, a prism and a photoelectric sensor, the light source unit comprises a first light source unit for providing P-polarized light and a second light source unit for providing non-P-polarized light, the prism has a contact interface for contacting a liquid to be measured, the first light source unit and the second light source unit are configured such that the light emitted by the first light source unit and the light emitted by the second light source unit respectively enter the prism through the incident surface of the prism and irradiate the contact interface, the light reflected from the contact interface exits the prism through the exit surface of the prism and is received by the photoelectric sensor to form a first light spot and a second light spot, the first light spot and the second light spot respectively have Brewster angle information and total reflection angle information, and the refractive index of the liquid to be measured is determined by the first light spot and the second light spot. The application measures the refractive index by means of the Brewster angle and the total reflection angle, has high accuracy, low requirements on the state of the sample to be measured, wide applicability and low cost.
