Memory interface with reduced energy transfer mode
By employing multimodal sparse coding and a DBI line-based level shifting strategy in PAM communication, the problems of high energy consumption and crosstalk noise in PAM communication are solved, achieving communication with higher energy efficiency and bandwidth.

Abstract
Memory interfaces employing reduced energy transfer modes are disclosed. PAM encoding techniques exploit unused idle periods in the channel between data transfers to apply longer but more energy efficient codes. To improve energy savings, multiple sparse encoding schemes can be selectively used to accommodate different sized gaps in traffic. These methods can exploit, for example, memory read and write traffic to reduce energy when transmitting 4 bits of data using a 3-symbol sequence.
