Description

Technical Field

[0001] This invention relates to the field of wireless technology, and in particular to a measurement and reporting method, apparatus, terminal, and base station. Background Technology

[0002] The current network includes co-frequency networking scenarios with different cell types, such as indoor / outdoor co-frequency networking and public / private network co-frequency networking. Existing terminals prioritize frequency bands when reporting cell measurements and performing handover measurements, but do not differentiate between cell types. However, the handover strategy is based on cell type.

[0003] For example, in a scenario where indoor and outdoor networks operate on the same frequency, covering both the 700MHz and 2.6GHz bands, outdoor coverage prioritizes 2.6GHz macro base stations to leverage their large capacity. Indoor coverage, shallow coverage is prioritized with 700MHz macro base stations, while deep coverage is achieved with indoor 2.6GHz distributed base stations. Currently, outdoor handover from 2.6GHz to 700MHz uses the A5 event (signal quality of the current cell is below a preset threshold), while handover from 700MHz to 2.6GHz uses the A1+A4 event (signal quality of the current cell is above a first preset threshold, and signal quality of neighboring cells is above a second preset threshold). This indicates a preference for 2.6GHz outdoors. Indoor handover uses the A5 event for both 2.6GHz and 700MHz, indicating a preference for 700MHz indoors.

[0004] Therefore, in the scenario of indoor and outdoor co-frequency networking, the events reported by indoor and outdoor terminals are inconsistent in the existing technology. Regardless of whether the terminal is in an outdoor or indoor scenario, the terminal performs cell measurement and reporting and performs cell handover measurement for the frequency band covered by the cell, and the base station determines the target cell for the terminal to handover.

[0005] Similarly, in public and private network scenarios with co-frequency networking, the terminal cannot distinguish whether the cell being measured, reported, and handed over is a public network cell or a private network cell. The base station determines the target cell for handover solely based on the cell type of the cell to be handed over. Using existing cell measurement and reporting methods, when cell measurement and reporting are only based on frequency band priority, the base station's cell handover strategy is based on cell type. If handover conditions are not met, this leads to frequent measurement and reporting by the terminal, resulting in increased power consumption. Summary of the Invention

[0089] To make the technical problems, technical solutions and advantages of the present invention clearer, a detailed description will be given below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and specific embodiments.

[0090] The measurement reporting method described in this embodiment of the invention allows the terminal to obtain the neighbor cell type of neighboring cells and report measurement reports based on the neighbor cell type during neighbor cell measurement. This enables measurement report reporting and cell handover based on cell type, eliminating the need for the base station to solely decide the target cell for handover. This avoids frequent measurement report reporting, thereby reducing the number of measurement report reports and terminal power consumption. It also solves the problem of increased terminal power consumption caused by the existing technology's method of cell measurement reporting and handover measurement based solely on frequency band priority, where the base station determines the target cell for terminal handover.

[0091] One embodiment of the measurement reporting method described in this application is applied to a terminal, such as... Figure 1 As shown, the method includes:

[0092] S210, Obtain the cell types of neighboring cells of the cell where the terminal is located;

[0093] S220, based on the cell type of the adjacent cells being measured, submit a measurement report.

[0094] In this embodiment of the invention, the measurement reporting method is used so that the terminal obtains the neighbor cell type and reports a measurement report based on the cell type. This allows the terminal to report measurement reports for the type of neighboring cells and directly report the measurement reports of neighboring cells of the target type that need to be switched. In this way, when performing cell handover, the base station no longer decides the target cell for handover alone. The base station can directly perform the handover from the terminal to the target cell based on the measurement report reported by the terminal, thereby reducing the number of measurement report reports and terminal power consumption.

[0095] In one embodiment of the present invention, optionally, in step S210, the neighbor cell type of the neighbor cell where the terminal is located is obtained by at least one of the following methods:

[0096] The cell types of neighboring cells are obtained by using the cell type indicated by the base station in the Master Information Block (MIB) message;

[0097] The cell types of neighboring cells are obtained by using the reconfiguration measurement information sent by the base station;

[0098] Instructions for reconfiguration measurement information sent by the base station are used to receive System Information Block (SIB) messages during local or neighboring cell measurements, and to obtain the neighboring cell type of the measured neighboring cell from the SIB messages.

[0099] The neighbor cell type is automatically determined based on the number of measured synchronization signal blocks (SSBs).

[0100] In one implementation, optionally, the neighbor cell type of a neighbor cell is obtained by means of the cell type indicated in the MIB message received during terminal measurement. The MIB message includes a preset number of indicator bits used to indicate the cell type. Optionally, one or two bits of the four control bits in the MIB message are reserved for this indicator bit to indicate the cell type. For example, the indicated cell type can represent either a public network cell or a private network cell, or an indoor cell or an outdoor cell.

[0101] In another implementation, optionally, the neighbor cell type of a neighboring cell is obtained through reconfiguration measurement information sent by the base station. Using this method, the base station can inform the terminal of the neighbor cell type of the measured neighboring cells through reconfiguration. In this implementation, optionally, the neighbor cell type of a neighboring cell is obtained through Radio Resource Control (RRC) reconfiguration measurement information sent by the base station; wherein the RRC reconfiguration measurement information includes the terminal's neighbor cell list and the corresponding neighbor cell type; based on the neighbor cell list, the neighbor cell type of the corresponding neighboring cell can be determined.

[0102] In another implementation, optionally, the reconfiguration measurement information sent by the base station is used to obtain an indication to receive a System Information Block (SIB) message during measurement, and the neighbor cell type of the neighbor cell is obtained based on the SIB message. In this implementation, the base station instructs the terminal to obtain the SIB message during neighbor cell measurement via the reconfiguration measurement information, enabling further acquisition of the neighbor cell type based on the SIB message. Optionally, in this implementation, the SIB message is an SIB1 message. Optionally, this implementation can be applied to scenarios where public and private networks are deployed on the same frequency. By reconfiguring the measurement information, the terminal is instructed to receive the SIB during cell measurement to store the neighbor cell type in SIB1, indicating the neighbor cell type of the measured neighbor cell. For example, in a public and private network deployed on the same frequency, when configuring a high-speed terminal to perform measurements, the SIB1 message indicates the neighbor cell type of the neighbor cell the terminal needs to measure.

[0103] In another implementation, the terminal can autonomously determine the neighbor cell type of a neighbor cell based on the number of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) measured. For example, when the number of measured SSBs is 1, it is determined to be a fixed-class cell; when the number of measured SSBs is 8, it is determined to be a 2.6GHz macro cell, etc.

[0104] In this embodiment of the invention, optionally, in step S120, the reporting of the measurement report includes:

[0105] Submit a measurement report detailing the measurements taken of adjacent cells to the target.

[0106] The cell type of the target neighboring cell is indicated by the base station; or

[0107] The cell type of the target neighboring cell is determined based on the cell type of the cell where the terminal is located, and the cell type of the target cell is the same as the cell type of the cell where the terminal is located.

[0108] Optionally, the neighbor cell type indicated by the base station is the same as the type of the cell where the terminal is located. Using this implementation, after distinguishing different cell types, the terminal reports measurement reports of the same type as the base station and its own cell. For example, in a public / private network deployment scenario, if the terminal is a high-speed terminal, it only reports high-speed cell measurement reports; otherwise, it reports low-speed cell measurement reports. In an indoor / outdoor co-frequency networking scenario, during indoor / outdoor handover, the indoor terminal is configured to report measurement reports based on indoor cells, and the outdoor terminal reports measurement reports based on outdoor cells. The indoor cell will not report measurement reports using the measurement reporting conditions of the outdoor cell, avoiding significant interference during indoor / outdoor handover. During this process, the serving cell determines whether the terminal is indoors or outdoors to reduce the number of terminal reports and terminal power consumption.

[0109] Optionally, in this embodiment of the invention, the method further includes:

[0110] When performing neighbor cell measurements, a measurement report is reported to the base station when the difference in signal quality between at least two neighbor cells being measured is greater than a preset value, based on the instruction information sent by the base station.

[0111] In this implementation, the difference in signal quality between at least two neighboring cells is greater than a preset value. Compared with the prior art, a new measurement reporting event is defined, namely a measurement event that compares neighboring cells with neighboring cells.

[0112] In existing technologies, measurement reporting events only include local area measurement information, neighboring cell measurement information, and measurement information and reporting events comparing the local area and neighboring cells, excluding measurement reporting events comparing neighboring cells. For example, in scenarios with indoor and outdoor co-frequency networking, if the reported events are inconsistent between indoor and outdoor areas, the terminal will select all events to report, resulting in a large number of reports and wasted terminal power. The method described in this invention adds measurement reporting events comparing neighboring cells. A measurement report is reported to the base station when the difference in signal quality between at least two neighboring cells is greater than a preset value, thereby reducing the number of measurement report reports submitted by the terminal.

[0113] For example, in existing co-frequency network scenarios, a terminal reports A3 (meaning the measured signal quality of a neighboring cell is higher than that of the local cell, and the difference between the neighboring cell's signal quality and the local cell's signal quality is greater than a preset threshold) to switch to outdoor 2.6GHz, and A5 to switch to outdoor 700MHz. Outdoor 2.6GHz and 700MHz have the same priority, and currently, the target cell for the terminal's switch can only be determined by the base station. Using the method described in this embodiment, when the terminal measures neighboring cells, if the difference in signal quality between neighboring cells of different frequency bands or types is greater than a preset value, such as the difference in RSRP (Signal Response Rate Reduction) between neighboring cells of different frequency bands and types measured by the terminal being greater than a certain value, then the terminal will preferentially switch to the neighboring cell with the better RSRP. This decision is made by the terminal, reducing the number of reporting requests.

[0114] In this embodiment of the invention, the base station sends indication information to the terminal, instructing the terminal to report a measurement report to the base station when the difference in signal quality between at least two neighboring cells measured during neighboring cell measurements exceeds a preset value. Optionally, this indication information is provided via a Radio Resource Control (RRC) reconfiguration message.

[0115] It should be noted that in this embodiment of the invention, when the difference between the signal quality of at least two neighboring cells measured is greater than a preset value, a measurement report is reported to the base station according to the indication information sent by the base station, and a measurement report is reported according to the neighboring cell type of the measured neighboring cell. The two implementation methods can be independent of each other, that is, the execution of one implementation method is not a necessary condition for the other implementation method.

[0116] Another embodiment of the present invention provides a measurement reporting method, applied to a base station, such as... Figure 2 As shown, the method includes:

[0117] S210, Indicate the cell type of the neighboring cells to the terminal;

[0118] S220: Obtain the measurement report reported by the terminal based on the cell type of the neighboring cells being measured.

[0119] Using the measurement reporting method described in this embodiment of the invention, the base station indicates the cell type of neighboring cells to the terminal, enabling the terminal to report measurement reports based on the cell type. When reporting measurement reports for neighboring cells of the target type, during cell handover, the base station no longer decides the target cell solely based on the measurement reports reported by the terminal. Instead, the base station can directly handover the terminal to the target cell based on the measurement reports reported by the terminal, thereby reducing the number of measurement report reports and terminal power consumption.

[0120] In this embodiment of the invention, optionally, the neighbor cell type of the neighbor cell is indicated to the terminal through at least one of the following methods:

[0121] The cell types of neighboring cells are indicated to the terminal by the cell type indicated in the main system information block (MIB) message;

[0122] By reconfiguring measurement information, the terminal is indicated with the cell types of neighboring cells;

[0123] By reconfiguring measurement information, the terminal is instructed to receive System Information Block (SIB) messages during measurement, and the neighbor cell type of the neighbor cell is indicated to the terminal through the SIB messages.

[0124] Optionally, the MIB message includes a preset number of indicator bits, which are used to indicate the cell type.

[0125] Optionally, the measurement report reported by the terminal based on the cell type of the neighboring cells being measured includes:

[0126] Obtain the measurement report reported by the terminal after measuring the target neighboring cells;

[0127] The cell type of the target neighboring cell is indicated by the base station; or

[0128] The cell type of the target neighboring cell is determined based on the cell type of the cell where the terminal is located, and the cell type of the target cell is the same as the cell type of the cell where the terminal is located.

[0129] In this embodiment of the invention, the specific implementation of instructing the terminal on the neighbor cell type of the neighbor cell, and the specific implementation of obtaining the terminal to report the measurement report based on the neighbor cell type of the measured neighbor cell, can be found in the detailed description of the terminal side executing the method described in this embodiment of the invention, and will not be described in detail here.

[0130] In this embodiment of the invention, the measurement reporting method further includes:

[0131] The terminal is sent an instruction message, which instructs the terminal to report a measurement report to the base station when the difference between the signal quality of at least two neighboring cells measured during neighboring cell measurement is greater than a preset value.

[0132] Optionally, the indication information is indicated via a Radio Resource Control (RRC) reconfiguration message.

[0133] In another embodiment of the measurement reporting method described in this invention, optionally, the method further includes:

[0134] Obtain the cell type record table configured by the network management device, wherein the cell type record table stores the types of different base stations;

[0135] After obtaining the measurement report reported by the terminal, the target cell that the terminal needs to switch to is determined according to the terminal type and the cell type record table, and the terminal is instructed to switch to the target cell.

[0136] Using this implementation method, the base station distinguishes cell types to determine the target cell that the terminal needs to switch to.

[0137] In this embodiment of the invention, optionally, the network management device includes, but is not limited to, a core network and / or network management system. The core network and / or network management system mark the base station type, such as marking the base station as at least one of ordinary cell, high-speed cell, indoor cell, and outdoor cell. Optionally, in addition to being distinguished by the different types mentioned above, cell types can also be distinguished by different Physical Cell Identity (PCI) identifiers.

[0138] Alternatively, the network management device may record the type of each base station's marking in a cell type record table and send the cell type record table to each base station, which will then store the cell type record table.

[0139] Optionally, during terminal handover, different base stations can exchange the cell type record table through the Xn interface.

[0140] Using this implementation method, the base station can determine the cell type of the target cell based on the neighboring cell PCI and the corresponding neighboring cell RSRP reported by the terminal, and determine the type of the target cell to be switched to based on the terminal type, such as a public network cell or a private network cell; or, calculate the RSRP difference between two neighboring cells to determine whether the terminal should switch to an outdoor cell or an indoor cell with the same frequency first. In this way, based on the determined type of the target cell and the different base station types recorded in the cell type record table, the target cell to be switched to is determined.

[0141] It should be noted that in this embodiment of the invention, the base station obtains the measurement report reported by the terminal, and determines the target cell for handover based on the terminal type and cell type record table. In this implementation, the terminal reports the measurement report in a conventional manner, such as reporting based on frequency measurement, and is not limited to reporting the measurement report based on the neighbor cell type of the measured neighbor cell. That is, this implementation and the implementation where the terminal reports the measurement report based on the neighbor cell type of the measured neighbor cell are not related.

[0142] This invention also provides a terminal, such as... Figure 3 As shown, the terminal 300 includes a transceiver 310 and a processor 320, wherein:

[0143] The processor 320 is used to obtain the cell types of neighboring cells of the cell where the terminal is located;

[0144] The transceiver 310 is used to report a measurement report based on the cell type of the adjacent cells being measured.

[0145] Optionally, in the terminal, the processor 320 obtains the cell types of neighboring cells of the cell where the terminal is located by at least one of the following methods:

[0146] The cell types of neighboring cells are obtained by using the cell type indicated by the base station in the main system information block (MIB) message.

[0147] The cell types of neighboring cells are obtained by using the reconfiguration measurement information sent by the base station;

[0148] The system receives System Information Block (SIB) messages during measurement based on the reconfiguration measurement information sent by the base station, and obtains the neighbor cell type of the neighbor cell being measured from the SIB messages.

[0149] The neighbor cell type is automatically determined based on the number of measured synchronization signal blocks (SSBs).

[0150] Optionally, in the terminal, the transceiver 310 reports a measurement report, including:

[0151] Submit a measurement report detailing the measurements taken of adjacent cells to the target.

[0152] The cell type of the target neighboring cell is indicated by the base station; or

[0153] The cell type of the target neighboring cell is determined based on the cell type of the cell where the terminal is located, and the cell type of the target cell is the same as the cell type of the cell where the terminal is located.

[0154] Optionally, in the terminal, the processor 320 is further configured to:
