[0002] This patent application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 63 / 058,370, filed July 29, 2020, entitled “Technique for releasing a collection of multiple semi-persistent scheduling and configuration licensed resources”, and U.S. Patent Application No. 17 / 377,173, filed July 15, 2021, entitled “Technique for releasing a collection of multiple semi-persistent scheduling and configuration licensed resources”; each of which is assigned to the assignee herein. Technical Field
[0003] This disclosure relates to wireless communications, including techniques for releasing a collection of multiple semi-persistent scheduling and configuration licensed resources. Background Technology
[0004] Wireless communication systems are widely deployed to provide various types of communication content, such as voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcasting, and so on. These systems can support communication with multiple users by sharing available system resources (e.g., time, frequency, and power). Examples of such multiple access systems include fourth-generation (4G) systems such as Long Term Evolution (LTE), LTE-A Advanced (LTE-A), or LTE-A Pro systems, and fifth-generation (5G) systems, which may be referred to as New Radio (NR) systems. These systems can employ technologies such as Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA), Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA), Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA), Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA), or Discrete Fourier Transform Extended Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (DFT-S-OFDM). A wireless multiple access communication system may include one or more base stations or one or more network access nodes, each base station or node supporting communication from multiple communication devices simultaneously, which may also be referred to as User Equipment (UE).
[0005] In some wireless communication systems, communication resource sets (e.g., semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) grants for downlink resources and configured grants (CG) for uplink resources) can be scheduled via downlink control information (DCI). In some cases, after a resource set has been indicated to the UE, the network may need resources associated with the SPS grant and / or CG. In this situation, the base station can release (e.g., revoke or otherwise indicate as unavailable) the resource set associated with a given SPS grant and / or CG via DCI signaling. However, the limitation of the DCI message's ability to release multiple resource sets across multiple component carriers can lead to increased control signaling overhead within the wireless communication system. Summary of the Invention
[0006] The described technology relates to improved methods, systems, apparatuses, and devices for supporting the release of sets of multiple semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) and configuration grant (CG) resources. Generally, the described technology provides the release of multiple sets of communication resources (e.g., SPS grants for downlink, CGs for uplink) via a single downlink control information (DCI) message. In some aspects, a single DCI message can be used to release multiple sets of resources across multiple component carriers. In some aspects, the UE can be configured (e.g., via Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling) with multiple configurations (e.g., tables, indexes) that associate the indication of the DCI message with component carrier / resource pairs or otherwise map the indication of the DCI message to component carrier / resource pairs. That is, different values of the indication in the DCI message can indicate multiple different resources, each resource associated with one of the component carriers. In one example, the UE can identify multiple resource sets across multiple component carriers to be released based on configurations and indications in the DCI message, including the Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) process number (HPN) field value, carrier indicator field (CIF) value, etc. Upon receiving the indications(s), the UE can refer to the corresponding configuration and then release the SPS and / or CG resources corresponding to the received indications(s) across the multiple component carriers.

The method may include: identifying a communication configuration for a set of component carriers, the communication configuration including at least a first resource set on a first component carrier and a second resource set on a second component carrier; receiving a DCI message from a base station on the first component carrier, the DCI message including one or more field values indicating that the UE intends to release multiple resource sets on multiple component carriers, including at least the first resource set on the first component carrier and the second resource set on the second component carrier; and determining, based on the received DCI message, to release the first and second resource sets.
[0008] An apparatus for wireless communication at a UE is described. The apparatus may include a processor, a memory coupled to the processor, and instructions stored in the memory. The code may include instructions executable by a processor to: identify a communication configuration for a set of component carriers, the communication configuration including at least a first resource set on a first component carrier and a second resource set on a second component carrier in the set of component carriers; receive a DCI message from a base station on the first component carrier, the DCI message including one or more field values indicating that the UE intends to release multiple resource sets on multiple component carriers, including at least the first resource set on the first component carrier and the second resource set on the second component carrier; and determine, based on the received DCI message, to release the first and second resource sets.

[0058] In some wireless communication systems, communication resource sets can be scheduled via downlink control information (DCI). For example, DCI messages can be used to signal semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) grants that schedule resources for downlink transmissions from the base station to the UE. DCI messages can also be used to signal configuration grants (CG) that schedule resources for uplink transmissions from the UE to the base station. Furthermore, the UE can be configured to communicate on multiple component carriers and can schedule multiple SPS and / or CG resources across these component carriers. In some cases, after a resource set has been indicated to the UE, the network may need the resources associated with the SPS grant and / or CG. In this case, the base station can release (e.g., revoke or otherwise indicate as unavailable) the resource set associated with a given SPS grant and / or CG via DCI signaling. Depending on the technology of some wireless communication systems, DCI messages may not be able to release resource sets across multiple component carriers. These limitations associated with releasing resource sets can lead to increased control signaling overhead within the wireless communication system.
[0059] To address the issues associated with releasing resource sets at the UE and reduce the control signaling overhead associated with resource release, techniques for releasing multiple SPS and / or CG resources via a single DCI message are disclosed. In some aspects, a single DCI message can be used to release multiple resource sets across multiple component carriers. In some aspects, the UE can be configured (e.g., via RRC signaling) with multiple configurations (e.g., tables, indexes, stored objects) that associate the indication of the DCI message with component carrier / resource pairs. That is, different values of the indication in the DCI message can indicate multiple different resources, each of which is associated with one of the component carriers. When the configuration includes a table, each row of the table can indicate one or more component carrier / resource pairs. In one example, different Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) Process Number (HPN) field values (which may correspond to corresponding rows in the table) can each be associated with one or more component carrier / resource pairs (e.g., HPN field value 1 = {CC1, SPS / CG index}, {CC2, SPS / CG index}). Upon receiving an indication in the DCI, the UE can refer to the configured table and then release the SPS and / or CG resources corresponding to the received indication across multiple component carriers.
[0060] In some aspects, the UE can be configured with a single configuration (e.g., a single table) including resource / component carrier pairs, or multiple configurations (e.g., multiple tables). When the UE is configured with multiple configurations, the UE can determine which configuration to use based on the component carrier on which DCI messages are received. Alternatively, the Carrier Indicator Field (CIF) value in the DCI message can indicate which configuration to use. In these proposals, the UE can determine two or more resource sets (e.g., SPS, CG, or both) to be released based on the field value indicated in the DCI message and the corresponding resource set associated with the HPN field value indicated in the relevant configuration.
[0061] In some cases, the UE can verify (e.g., acknowledge) that a DCI message is configured to release resources based on the DCI message's redundancy version (RV) value, modulation and coding scheme (MCS) value, frequency domain resource assignment (FDRA) field value, or any combination thereof. By enabling a single DCI message to release multiple sets of resources within and / or across multiple component carriers, control signaling within the wireless communication system can be reduced.
[0062] The aspects of this disclosure are initially described in the context of wireless communication systems. These aspects are further described in the context of example resource configurations and example process flows. These aspects are further illustrated and described with reference to apparatus diagrams, system diagrams, and flowcharts relating to techniques for releasing a collection of multiple SPS and CG resources.

[0064] Base stations 105 can be distributed throughout a geographical area to form a wireless communication system 100, and can be devices of different forms or with different capabilities. Base stations 105 and UE 115 can communicate wirelessly via one or more communication links 125. Each base station 105 can provide a coverage area 110, where UE 115 and base station 105 can establish one or more communication links 125. Coverage area 110 can be an example of a geographical area where base station 105 and UE 115 can support signal communication according to one or more radio access technologies.
[0065] UE 115 can be distributed throughout the entire coverage area 110 of the wireless communication system 100, and each UE 115 can be stationary, mobile, or both at different times. UE 115 can be devices of different forms or with different capabilities. Figure 1 Some example UE 115s are shown in the document. The UE 115 described herein is capable of communicating with various types of devices, such as other UE 115s, base station 105, or network devices (e.g., core network nodes, relay devices, integrated access and backhaul (IAB) nodes, or other network devices), such as... Figure 1 As shown.
[0066] Base station 105 can communicate with core network 130, or communicate with each other, or both. For example, base station 105 can interface with core network 130 via one or more backhaul links 120 (e.g., via S1, N2, N3, or other interfaces). Base station 105 can communicate with each other directly (e.g., directly between base stations 105) or indirectly (e.g., via core network 130) or both via backhaul links 120 (e.g., via X2, Xn, or other interfaces). In some examples, backhaul link 120 can be or includes one or more radio links.
[0067] One or more of the base stations 105 described herein may include, or may be referred to by those skilled in the art as, base station, radio base station, access point, radio transceiver, NodeB, eNodeB (eNB), next-generation NodeB or gigabit NodeB (any of which may be referred to as gNB), home NodeB, home eNodeB or other suitable terms.
[0068] UE 115 may include or be referred to as a mobile device, wireless device, remote device, handheld device, or subscriber device, or some other suitable term, wherein "device" may also be referred to as a unit, station, terminal, or client, etc. UE 115 may also include or be referred to as a personal electronic device, such as a cellular phone, personal digital assistant (PDA), tablet computer, laptop computer, or personal computer. In some examples, UE 115 may include or be referred to as a wireless local loop (WLL) station, Internet of Things (IoT) device, Internet of Everything (IoE) device, or machine-type communication (MTC) device, etc., which may be implemented in various objects such as appliances or vehicles, meters, etc.
[0069] The UE 115 described in this document can communicate with various types of devices, such as other UE 115s that can sometimes act as relays, as well as base station 105 and network devices, including macro eNBs or gNBs, small cell eNBs or gNBs, or relay base stations, etc. Figure 1 As shown.
[0070] UE 115 and base station 105 can wirelessly communicate with each other via one or more carriers through one or more communication links 125. The term "carrier" can refer to a collection of radio spectrum resources having a defined physical layer structure for supporting communication link 125. For example, a carrier for communication link 125 may include a portion of the radio spectrum band (e.g., a bandwidth portion (BWP)) operating according to one or more physical layer channels of a given radio access technology (e.g., LTE, LTE-A, LTE-A Pro, NR). Each physical layer channel may carry acquisition signaling (e.g., synchronization signals, system information), control signaling coordinating carrier operation, user data, or other signaling. Wireless communication system 100 can use carrier aggregation or multi-carrier operation to support communication with UE 115. Depending on the carrier aggregation configuration, UE 115 can be configured with multiple downlink component carriers and one or more uplink component carriers. Carrier aggregation can be used in conjunction with both frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex (TDD) component carriers.
[0071] In some examples (e.g., in a carrier aggregation configuration), a carrier may also have acquisition or control signaling to coordinate the operation of other carriers. A carrier may be associated with a frequency channel (e.g., an Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA) Absolute Radio Channel Number (EARFCN)) and can be located according to a channel grid for discovery by UE 115. A carrier may operate in standalone mode, where initial acquisition and connection can be performed by UE 115 via the carrier, or the carrier may operate in non-standalone mode, where the connection is anchored using different carriers (e.g., the same or different radio access technologies).
[0072] The communication link 125 shown in the wireless communication system 100 may include uplink transmission from UE 115 to base station 105, or downlink transmission from base station 105 to UE 115. The carrier may carry downlink or uplink communication (e.g., in FDD mode), or may be configured to carry both downlink and uplink communication (e.g., in TDD mode).
[0073] A carrier can be associated with a specific bandwidth of the radio spectrum, and in some examples, the carrier bandwidth can be referred to as the carrier or the “system bandwidth” of the wireless communication system 100. For example, the carrier bandwidth can be one of several bandwidths determined for a carrier of a particular radio access technology (e.g., 1.4, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 40, or 80 MHz). Devices of the wireless communication system 100 (e.g., base station 105, UE 115, or both) can have a hardware configuration that supports communication over a specific carrier bandwidth, or can be configured to support communication over one of a set of carrier bandwidths. In some examples, the wireless communication system 100 may include a base station 105 or UE 115 that supports simultaneous communication via carriers associated with multiple carrier bandwidths. In some examples, each served UE 115 may be configured to operate on a portion (e.g., a subband, BWP) or all of the carrier bandwidth.
[0074] The signal waveform transmitted on a carrier can consist of multiple subcarriers (e.g., using multi-carrier modulation (MCM) techniques, such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) or discrete Fourier transform extended OFDM (DFT-S-OFDM)). In a system employing MCM, a resource element can consist of one symbol period (e.g., the duration of a modulation symbol) and one subcarrier, where the symbol period and subcarrier spacing are inversely related. The number of bits carried by each resource element can depend on the modulation scheme (e.g., the order of the modulation scheme, the coding rate of the modulation scheme, or both). Therefore, the more resource elements the UE 115 receives and the higher the order of the modulation scheme, the higher the data rate of the UE 115. Wireless communication resources can refer to a combination of radio spectrum resources, temporal resources, and spatial resources (e.g., spatial layers or beams), and the use of multiple spatial layers can further improve the data rate or data integrity of communication with the UE 115.
[0075] The time interval of base station 105 or UE 115 can be expressed as a multiple of a basic time unit, where the basic time unit can be, for example, T. s =1 / (Δf) max ·N f The sampling period is ) seconds, where Δf max This can represent the maximum supported subcarrier spacing, and Nf This can represent the maximum supported Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) size. Time intervals for communication resources can be organized according to radio frames, where each radio frame has a specified duration (e.g., 10 milliseconds (ms)). Each radio frame can be identified by a system frame number (SFN) (e.g., ranging from 0 to 1023).
[0076] Each frame may include multiple consecutively numbered subframes or time slots, and each subframe or time slot may have the same duration. In some examples, a frame may be divided (e.g., in the time domain) into subframes, and each subframe may be further divided into multiple time slots. Alternatively, each frame may include a variable number of time slots, and the number of time slots may depend on the subcarrier spacing. Each time slot may include multiple symbol periods (e.g., depending on the length of the cyclic prefix pre-added to each symbol period). In some wireless communication systems 100, time slots may be further divided into multiple micro-time slots containing one or more symbols. In addition to the cyclic prefix, each symbol period may contain one or more (e.g., N) f (Number) sampling periods. The duration of a symbol period can depend on the subcarrier spacing or the operating frequency band.
[0077] A subframe, time slot, micro-time slot, or symbol can be the smallest scheduling unit of the wireless communication system 100 (e.g., in the time domain) and can be referred to as a transmission time interval (TTI). In some examples, the duration of the TTI (e.g., the number of symbol periods in the TTI) can be variable. Additionally or alternatively, the smallest scheduling unit of the wireless communication system 100 can be dynamically selected (e.g., in a burst of shortened TTIs (sTTIs)).
[0078] Physical channels can be multiplexed on a carrier using various techniques. For example, one or more of Time Division Multiplexing (TDM), Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM), or hybrid TDM-FDM techniques can be used to multiplex physical control channels and physical data channels on a downlink carrier. The control region (e.g., a control resource set (CORESET)) of the physical control channel can be defined by multiple symbol periods and can be extended across the system bandwidth or a subset of the system bandwidth of the carrier. One or more control regions (e.g., CORESETs) can be configured for a set of UEs 115. For example, one or more UEs 115 can monitor or search for control information in the control region based on one or more search space sets, and each search space set can include one or more control channel candidates in one or more aggregation levels arranged in a cascaded manner. The aggregation level of control channel candidates can refer to the number of control channel resources (e.g., control channel elements (CCEs)) associated with coded information in a control information format with a given payload size. The search space set can include a common search space set configured to send control information to multiple UEs 115, and a UE-specific search space set for sending control information to a specific UE 115.
[0079] Each base station 105 may provide communication coverage via one or more cells, such as macro cells, small cells, hotspots, or other types of cells, or any combination thereof. The term "cell" may refer to a logical communication entity used to communicate with base station 105 (e.g., via a carrier) and may be associated with an identifier used to distinguish neighboring cells (e.g., Physical Cell Identifier (PCID), Virtual Cell Identifier (VCID), etc.). In some examples, a cell may also refer to a geographic coverage area 110 or a portion of geographic coverage area 110 (e.g., a sector) on which a logical communication entity operates. Depending on various factors, such as the capabilities of base station 105, the range of these cells can vary from smaller areas (e.g., structures, subsets of structures) to larger areas. For example, a cell may be or include buildings, subsets of buildings, or external space between or overlapping geographic coverage areas 110, etc.
[0080] In some examples, base station 105 may be mobile, and thus provide communication coverage for mobile geographic coverage areas 110. In some examples, different geographic coverage areas 110 associated with different technologies may overlap, but the different geographic coverage areas 110 may be supported by the same base station 105. In other examples, overlapping geographic coverage areas 110 associated with different technologies may be supported by different base stations 105. Wireless communication system 100 may include, for example, a heterogeneous network, in which different types of base stations 105 use the same or different radio access technologies to provide coverage for various geographic coverage areas 110.
[0081] Wireless communication system 100 can be configured to support ultra-reliable communication or low-latency communication, or various combinations thereof. For example, wireless communication system 100 can be configured to support ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) or mission-critical communication. UE 115 can be designed to support ultra-reliable, low-latency, or mission-critical functions (e.g., mission-critical functions). Ultra-reliable communication can include private or group communication and can be supported by one or more mission-critical services, such as mission-critical push-to-talk (MCPTT), mission-critical video (MCVideo), or mission-critical data (MCData). Support for mission-critical functions can include service prioritization, and mission-critical services can be used for public safety or general commercial applications. The terms ultra-reliable, low-latency, mission-critical, and ultra-reliable low-latency are used interchangeably herein.
[0082] In some examples, UE 115 can also communicate directly with other UE 115 via device-to-device (D2D) communication link 135 (e.g., using peer-to-peer (P2P) or D2D protocols). One or more UE 115s utilizing D2D communication can be within the geographic coverage area 110 of base station 105. Other UE 115s in the group may be outside the geographic coverage area 110 of base station 105, or otherwise unable to receive transmissions from base station 105. In some examples, the group of UE 115s communicating via D2D communication can utilize a one-to-many (1:M) system, where each UE 115 transmits to every other UE 115 in the group. In some examples, base station 105 facilitates resource scheduling for D2D communication. In other cases, D2D communication is performed between UE 115s without involving base station 105.
[0083] Core network 130 can provide user authentication, access authorization, tracking, Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity, and other access, routing, or mobility functions. Core network 130 can be an evolved packet core (EPC) or a 5G core (5GC), which may include at least one control plane entity (e.g., a mobility management entity (MME), access and mobility management function (AMF)) managing access and mobility, and at least one user plane entity (e.g., a serving gateway (S-GW), packet data network (PDN) gateway (P-GW), or user plane function (UPF)) routing packets or interconnects to external networks. The control plane entity can manage non-access stratum (NAS) functions of UE 115 served by base station 105 associated with core network 130, such as mobility, authentication, and bearer management. User IP packets can be transmitted through the user plane entity, which can provide IP address allocation and other functions. The user plane entity can connect to network operator IP service 150. Network operator IP service 150 may include access to the Internet, intranet(s), IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), or packet-switched streaming services.
[0084] Some network devices, such as base station 105, may include sub-components, such as access network entity 140, which may be an example of an access node controller (ANC). Each access network entity 140 may communicate with UE 115 through one or more other access network transport entities 145, which may be referred to as a radio headend, smart radio headend, or transmit / receive point (TRP). Each access network transport entity 145 may include one or more antenna panels. In some configurations, the various functions of each access network entity 140 or base station 105 may be distributed across various network devices (e.g., radio headends and ANCs) or combined into a single network device (e.g., base station 105).
[0085] Wireless communication system 100 can operate using one or more frequency bands, typically in the range of 300 MHz to 300 GHz. Generally, the region from 300 MHz to 3 GHz is referred to as the ultra-high frequency (UHF) region or decimeter band because the wavelength range is from approximately 1 decimeter to 1 meter. UHF waves may be blocked or deflected by buildings and environmental features, but these waves can penetrate structures sufficiently to allow a macrocell to provide service to the UE 115 located indoors. Compared to transmissions using smaller frequencies and longer waves in the high frequency (HF) or very high frequency (VHF) portion of the spectrum below 300 MHz, UHF wave transmission can be associated with smaller antennas and shorter ranges (e.g., less than 100 km).
[0086] Wireless communication system 100 can utilize licensed and unlicensed radio spectrum bands. For example, wireless communication system 100 can employ Licensed Assisted Access (LAA), LTE-Unlicensed (LTE-U) radio access technology, or NR technology in unlicensed bands such as the 5 GHz industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) band. When operating in unlicensed radio spectrum bands, devices such as base station 105 and UE 115 can employ carrier sensing for collision detection and avoidance. In some examples, operation in unlicensed bands can be based on carrier aggregation configurations and component carriers operating in licensed bands (e.g., LAA). Operation in unlicensed spectrum can include downlink transmissions, uplink transmissions, P2P transmissions, or D2D transmissions, etc.
[0087] Base station 105 or UE 115 may be equipped with multiple antennas that can be used to employ techniques such as transmit diversity, receive diversity, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication, or beamforming. The antennas of base station 105 or UE 115 may be located within one or more antenna arrays or antenna panels that can support MIMO operation or transmit or receive beamforming. For example, one or more base station antennas or antenna arrays may be located together at an antenna assembly, such as an antenna tower. In some examples, the antennas or antenna arrays associated with base station 105 may be located in different geographical locations. Base station 105 may have an antenna array with multiple rows and columns of antenna ports, which base station 105 can use to support beamforming for communication with UE 115. Similarly, UE 115 may have one or more antenna arrays that can support various MIMO or beamforming operations. Additionally or alternatively, antenna panels may support radio frequency beamforming of signals transmitted via antenna ports.
[0088] Base station 105 or UE 115 can use MIMO communication to utilize multipath signal propagation and improve spectral efficiency by sending or receiving multiple signals via different spatial layers. This technique can be called spatial multiplexing. For example, multiple signals can be transmitted by a transmitting device via different antennas or different combinations of antennas. Similarly, a receiving device can receive multiple signals via different antennas or different combinations of antennas. Each of the multiple signals can be referred to as a separate spatial stream and can carry bits associated with the same data stream (e.g., the same codeword) or different data streams (e.g., different codewords). Different spatial layers can be associated with different antenna ports used for channel measurement and reporting. MIMO techniques include single-user MIMO (SU-MIMO) and multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO). In single-user MIMO, multiple spatial layers are sent to the same receiving device, while in multi-user MIMO, multiple spatial layers are sent to multiple devices.
[0089] Beamforming, also known as spatial filtering, directional transmission, or directional reception, is a signal processing technique used at a transmitting or receiving device (e.g., base station 105, UE 115) to shape or guide an antenna beam (e.g., transmit beam, receive beam) along a spatial path between the transmitting and receiving devices. Beamforming can be achieved by combining signals communicated via antenna elements of an antenna array, such that some signals propagating relative to a particular orientation of the antenna array experience constructive interference, while other signals experience destructive interference. Adjustments to signals communicated via antenna elements may include the transmitting or receiving device applying amplitude offset, phase offset, or both to the signals carried via the antenna elements associated with that device. The adjustments associated with each antenna element can be defined by a beamforming weight set associated with a particular orientation (e.g., the antenna array relative to the transmitting or receiving device, or relative to some other orientation).
[0090] Base station 105 or UE 115 may use beam scanning technology as part of beamforming operations. For example, base station 105 may use multiple antennas or antenna arrays (e.g., antenna panels) for beamforming operations to enable directional communication with UE 115. Some signals (e.g., synchronization signals, reference signals, beam selection signals, or other control signals) may be transmitted multiple times by base station 105 in different directions. For example, base station 105 may transmit signals based on different beamforming weight sets associated with different transmission directions. Transmissions in different beam directions may be used to identify (e.g., by a transmitting device such as base station 105, or by a receiving device such as UE 115) the beam direction for later transmission or reception by base station 105.
[0091] Some signals, such as data signals associated with a specific receiving device, may be transmitted by base station 105 in a single beam direction (e.g., the direction associated with the receiving device, such as UE 115). In some examples, the beam direction associated with transmission along a single beam direction may be determined based on the signals transmitted in one or more beam directions. For example, UE 115 may receive one or more signals transmitted by base station 105 in different directions and may report to base station 105 an indication of signals received by UE 115 with the highest signal quality or otherwise acceptable signal quality.
[0092] In some examples, transmission by a device (e.g., base station 105 or UE 115) may be performed using multiple beam directions, and the device may use a combination of digital precoding or radio frequency beamforming to generate a combined beam for transmission (e.g., from base station 105 to UE 115). UE 115 may report feedback indicating precoding weights for one or more beam directions, and this feedback may correspond to a configured number of beams across the system bandwidth or one or more subbands. Base station 105 may transmit reference signals (e.g., cell-specific reference signals (CRS), channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS)), which may be precoded or unprecoded. UE 115 may provide feedback for beam selection, which may be a precoded matrix indicator (PMI) or codebook-based feedback (e.g., multi-panel codebook, linear combination codebook, port selection codebook). Although these techniques are described in terms of signals transmitted by the reference base station 105 in one or more directions, the UE 115 may employ similar techniques to transmit signals multiple times in different directions (e.g., to identify beam direction for the UE 115 to subsequently transmit or receive) or to transmit signals in a single direction (e.g., to transmit data to a receiving device).
[0093] When receiving various signals (such as synchronization signals, reference signals, beam selection signals, or other control signals) from base station 105, the receiving device (e.g., UE 115) can attempt multiple receiving configurations (e.g., directional listening). For example, the receiving device can attempt multiple receiving directions by receiving via different antenna subarrays, by processing the received signals according to different antenna subarrays, by receiving according to different sets of receiving beamforming weights applied to signals received at multiple antenna elements of the antenna array (e.g., different sets of directional listening weights), or by processing the received signals according to different sets of receiving beamforming weights applied to signals received at multiple antenna elements of the antenna array (any of which can be referred to as "listening") based on different receiving configurations or receiving directions. In some examples, the receiving device can use a single receiving configuration to receive along a single beam direction (e.g., when receiving data signals). A single receiving configuration can be aligned in the beam direction determined based on listening, depending on the different receiving configuration directions (e.g., the beam direction determined to have the highest signal strength, highest signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), or otherwise acceptable signal quality based on listening to multiple beam directions).
[0094] The wireless communication system 100 can be a packet-based network operating according to a layered protocol stack. In the user plane, communication at the bearer or Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layer can be IP-based. The Radio Link Control (RLC) layer can perform packet segmentation and reassembly for communication over logical channels. The Media Access Control (MAC) layer can perform priority processing and multiplexing logical channels into transport channels. The MAC layer can also use error detection, error correction, or both to support MAC layer retransmissions to improve link efficiency. In the control plane, the Radio Resource Control (RRC) protocol layer can provide the establishment, configuration, and maintenance of RRC connections between UE 115 and base station 105 or core network 130 supporting user plane data radio bearers. At the physical layer, transport channels can be mapped to physical channels.
[0095] UE 115 and base station 105 can support data retransmission to increase the likelihood of successful data reception. Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) feedback is a technique used to increase the likelihood of correct data reception on communication link 125. HARQ can include a combination of error detection (e.g., using Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC)), forward error correction (FEC), and retransmission (e.g., Automatic Repeat Request (ARQ)). Under adverse radio conditions (e.g., low signal-to-noise ratio conditions), HARQ can improve the throughput of the MAC layer. In some examples, the device can support HARQ feedback within the same time slot, where the device can provide HARQ feedback in a specific time slot for data received in a previous symbol within that time slot. In other cases, the device can provide HARQ feedback in subsequent time slots or according to some other time interval.
[0096] The UE 115 and base station 105 of the wireless communication system 100 can support techniques for releasing multiple SPS and / or CG resources via a single DCI message. Specifically, the techniques described herein enable a single DCI message to release multiple resource sets across multiple component carriers. By enabling a single DCI message to release multiple resource sets within and / or across multiple component carriers, control signaling within the wireless communication system 100 can be reduced.
[0097] For example, UE 115 of wireless communication system 100 may be configured (e.g., via RRC signaling) with multiple configurations (e.g., tables, indexes, stored objects) that associate indications within a DCI message with component carrier / resource pairs. That is, different values of the indications in the DCI message can indicate multiple different resources, each associated with one of the component carriers. In the case where the configuration includes a table, each row of the table can indicate one or more component carrier / resource pairs. In one example, different HPN field values can each be associated with one or more component carrier / resource pairs (e.g., HPN field value 1 = {CC1, SPS index}, {CC2, CG index}). At this point, upon receiving a DCI message from base station 105, UE 115 can identify the indications(s) in the received DCI message and determine that the DCI message is configured to release a set of resources. After identifying the indications in the DCI message, UE 115 can refer to the corresponding configuration (e.g., a table) and then release the SPS and / or CG resources corresponding to the indications in the received DCI message across multiple component carriers.
[0098] In some aspects, UE 115 can be configured with a single configuration or multiple configurations including resource / component carrier pairs. When UE 115 is configured with multiple configurations, UE 115 can determine which configuration to use based on the component carrier on which the DCI message is received. Alternatively, the CIF value in the DCI message can indicate which configuration to use. In these proposals, UE 115 can determine two or more resource sets (e.g., SPS, CG, or both) to be released based on field values indicated in the DCI message and the corresponding resource sets associated with HPN field values indicated in the relevant configuration. In some cases, UE 115 can verify (e.g., acknowledge) that the DCI message is configured to release resources based on various fields or values in the DCI message (including the RV field, MCS field, FDRA field, or any combination thereof). By enabling a single DCI message to release multiple resource sets within and / or across multiple component carriers, control signaling within the wireless communication system can be reduced.
[0099] The techniques described herein enable a single DCI message to release multiple resource sets within and / or across multiple component carriers. For example, the techniques described herein enable a single DCI message to release a first resource set (e.g., SPS grant, CG) within a first component carrier at UE 115, and a second resource set (e.g., SPS grant, CG) within a second component carrier at UE 115. By enabling the release of multiple resource sets within and / or across multiple component carriers, control signaling overhead within the wireless communication system 100 can be reduced, and the flexibility of releasing resource sets can be improved.
[0100] Figure 2 An example of a wireless communication system 200 supporting techniques for releasing a collection of multiple SPS and CG resources according to aspects of this disclosure is shown. In some examples, the wireless communication system 200 may implement aspects of the wireless communication system 100. The wireless communication system 200 may include a base station 105-a and a UE 115-a, which may be examples of the UE 115 and the base station 105, as referenced. Figure 1 As described.
[0101] UE 115-a can communicate with base station 105-a using communication link 205. In some cases, communication link 205 may include an example of an access link (e.g., a Uu link). Communication link 205 may include a bidirectional link that can include both uplink and downlink communication. In one aspect, UE 115-a can use communication link 205 to send uplink transmissions, such as uplink messages or uplink signals, to base station 105-a, and base station 105-a can use communication link 205 to send downlink data transmissions, such as downlink messages or downlink signals, to UE 115-a. In some aspects, communication link 205 may include a set of component carriers 210 for communication between UE 115-a and base station 105-a. For example, communication link 205 may include a first component carrier 210-a (CC1), a second component carrier 210-b (CC2), and a third component carrier 210-c (CC3). Each of component carriers 210-a, 210-b, and 210-c can be configured for uplink communication, downlink communication, or both. Communication link 205 may include any number of component carriers.
[0102] The UE 115 and base station 105 of the wireless communication system 100 can support techniques for releasing multiple SPS and / or CG resources via a single DCI message. Specifically, the techniques described herein enable a single DCI message to release multiple resource sets across multiple component carriers. By enabling a single DCI message to release multiple resource sets within and / or across multiple component carriers, control signaling within the wireless communication system 100 can be reduced.
[0103] For example, UE 115-a, base station 105-a, or both can identify a communication configuration for communication between UE 115-a and base station 105-a on component carrier sets (e.g., multiple) 210. For example, the communication configuration may include at least a first resource set 230-a on a first component carrier 210-a, a second resource set on a second component carrier 210-b, and a third resource set 230-c on a third component carrier 210-c. In some aspects, the first resource set 230-a, the second resource set 230-b, the third resource set 230-c, or any combination thereof, may include a downlink resource set associated with SPS grants, an uplink resource set associated with CG, or any combination thereof. For example, the first resource set 230-a and the second resource set may include resource sets associated with SPS grants, and the third resource set 230-c may include resource sets associated with CG. In this respect, resource sets 230-a, 230-b and 230-c may include time resource sets and frequency resource sets for communication between UE 115-a and base station 105-a.
[0104] In some aspects, UE 115-a may send UE capability message 215 to base station 105-a. In some aspects, UE capability message 215 may instruct UE 115-a to be configured to release two or more resource sets 230 via a single DCI message 225. Additionally or alternatively, UE capability message 215 may instruct UE 115-b to be configured to release two or more resource sets 230 across multiple component carriers 210 via a single DCI message 225. In some cases, UE 115-a may send UE capability message 215 based on a communication configuration that identifies communication between UE 115-a and base station 105-a.
[0105] Base station 105-a may send RRC message 220 to UE 115-a. In some aspects, base station 105-a may send RRC message 220 to UE 115-a based on a communication configuration identifying communication between UE 115-a and base station 105-a, receiving UE capability message 215, or both. In some aspects, RRC message 220 may instruct UE 115-a how UE 115-a will interpret DCI message 225 received from base station 105-a, wherein DCI message 225 is configured to release resource set 230. In this respect, RRC message 220 may include an indication for interpreting the release configuration of DCI message 225 for releasing resource set 230.
[0106] In some aspects, a release configuration (e.g., a release configuration indicated via RRC message 220) may indicate a set of mapping pairs, wherein each mapping pair of the release configuration may include (e.g., identify, indicate) a component carrier 210 and resources for communication between UE 115-a and base station 105-a. For example, a first mapping pair may include {CC0, SPS / CG index 1}, wherein the first mapping pair indicates an association between a first component carrier 210-a (CC0) and an index associated with an SPS grant or CG resource (e.g., resource set 230-a) on the first component carrier 210-a. As another example, a second mapping pair may include {CC2, SPS / CG index 1}, wherein the second mapping pair indicates an association between a third component carrier 210-c (CC2) and an index associated with an SPS grant or CG resource (e.g., resource set 230-c) on the second component carrier 210-c. A release configuration may include any number of mapping pairs. Furthermore, although the release configuration is shown and described as being notified to UE 115-a via RRC message 220 signaling, UE 115-a can receive the release configuration via any other signaling. Additionally or alternatively, UE 115-a can be pre-configured with the release configuration.
[0107] In some aspects, the release configuration may include one or more configurations (e.g., tables, indexes, storage objects) associated with the release of resource 230. In some aspects, each configuration may include an association between one or more field values (e.g., HPN field values, component carrier field values, CIF values) and mapping pairs of DCI message 225. For example, the configuration may include a table containing the association between HPN field values and one or more mapping pairs, as shown in Table 1 below:
[0108] 0 {0,0},{0,1} 1 {0,0},{1,0},{0,1},{1,1} 2 {0,0},{2,1},{2,4},{3,6},{0,8} 3 {1,1},{2,2} … … 15 All Resources
[0109] Table 1: Configuration indicating the association between HPN field values and mapping pairs (e.g., tables)
[0110] As shown in Table 1 above, the configuration can indicate that a second HPN field value is associated with two mapping pairs (e.g., HPN field value 0 = {CC0, SPS / CG index 0}, {CC0, SPS / CG index 1}), and a fourth HPN field value (e.g., HPN field value 3) is associated with a single mapping pair (e.g., HPN field value 3 = {CC1, SPS / CG index 1}). The release configuration can include multiple configurations, each of which can indicate any number of associations between field values (e.g., HPN field values, component carrier field values, CIF values) and mapping pairs. The number of associations between field values and mapping pairs (e.g., the number of rows in Table 1) can be configurable. Furthermore, the number of bits in the HPN field can depend on the number of associations that determine the number of rows in Table 1. For example, if there are N rows in Table 1 as a result of associations between field values and mapping pairs, the number of bits in the HPN field used to indicate the mapping pairs can be defined as...
[0111] In some aspects, base station 105-b may determine the release of one or more resource sets 230 based on the communication configuration used for communication between UE 115-a and base station 105-a. In some aspects, base station 105-a may identify one or more configurations for releasing resource set 230 based on the communication configuration identifying communication between UE 115-a and base station 105-a, UE capability message 215, RRC message 220, identification of resource sets to be released, or any combination thereof. Furthermore, base station 105-b may select one or more configurations (e.g., a table) that UE 115-a will refer to to identify resource set 230 to be released. In some aspects, base station 105-a may select one or more configurations based on the component carrier 210 on which DCI message 225 will be transmitted, field values indicated in DCI message 225, or any combination thereof.
[0112] In some respects, base station 105-a can send DCI message 225 to UE 115-a based on determining one or more resource sets 230 to be released. Base station 105-a can send DCI message 225 on component carriers 210 within component carrier set 210 of UE 115-a. For example, as... Figure 2 As shown, base station 105-a can transmit DCI message 225 on the first component carrier 210-a. In some aspects, UE 115-a can receive DCI message 225 based on a communication configuration identifying communication between UE 115-a and base station 105-a, transmitting UE capability message 215, receiving RRC message 220, or any combination thereof.
[0113] In some aspects, DCI message 225 may include one or more field values instructing UE 115-a to release one or more resource sets 230. For example, in a communication configuration for communication between UE 115-a and base station 105-a that includes a first resource set 230-a on a first component carrier 210-a, a second resource set 230-a on a second component carrier 210-b, and a third resource set 230-c on a third component carrier 210-c, DCI message 225 may include one or more field values instructing UE 115-a to release the first resource set 230-a and the second resource set 230-b. The one or more field values instructing UE 115-a to release resource set 230 may include, but are not limited to, HPN field values, CIF values, or both. Furthermore, in some aspects, one or more field values may be associated with field values indicated in one or more configurations of the release configuration (e.g., Table 1 above). In this respect, one or more field values indicated in DCI message 225 can be used to reference one or more configurations of the resource configuration to identify the set of resources 230 to be released.
[0114] UE 115-a can be configured to receive DCI messages 225 configured to release resource sets 230 within one or more component carriers 210 of UE 115-a. For example, in some cases, UE 115-a can be configured to receive DCI messages 225 within each component carrier 210 of UE 115-a. As another example, UE 115-b can be configured to receive DCI messages 225 only within a subset of the component carriers of UE 115-a (e.g., only within the first component carrier 210-a). In this example, the indication to release resource sets 230 can be limited to a given set of component carriers 210, such that DCI messages 225 received on component carriers 210 not included in the given set of component carriers 210 may not effectively and / or successfully release resource sets 230. In this case, a subset of the component carriers 210 on which the DCI message 225 for releasing resource set 230 can be received can be pre-configured and signaled to UE 115-a (e.g., via RRC message 220), or any combination thereof.
[0115] In some aspects, UE 115-a, base station 105-a, or both can determine that DCI message 225 is configured to release one or more resource sets 230. In some aspects, UE 115-a and / or base station 105-a can determine that DCI message 225 is configured to release resource set 230 based on the new data indicator (NDI) field of DCI message 225. For example, in some cases, a first value (e.g., NDI = 0) in the NDI field of DCI message 225 can indicate that DCI message 225 is configured to release and / or activate resource set 230 (e.g., release and / or activate SPS grant and / or CG), and a second value (e.g., NDI = 1) in the NDI field of DCI message 225 can indicate that DCI message 225 is configured to schedule transmission or retransmission of resource set 230 (e.g., schedule retransmission of SPS grant and / or CG). In this example, UE 115-a and / or base station 105-a can determine that DCI message 225 is configured to release resource set 230 based on the NDI field of DCI message 225 which indicates a first value (e.g., NDI=0).
[0116] Additionally or alternatively, UE 115-a and / or base station 105-a may determine that DCI message 225 is configured to release resource set 230 by scrambling (e.g., encoding) at least a portion of DCI message 225 according to a Release-Associated Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI) (e.g., Coding Scheme Radio Network Temporary Identifier (CS-RNTI)). For example, base station 105-b may scramble (e.g., encode) at least a portion (e.g., a CRC portion) of DCI message 225 via CS-RNTI, such that the format of DCI message 225 is associated with cross-carrier scheduling, cross-carrier activation, cross-carrier release, or any combination thereof. In this example, UE 115-a may determine that DCI message 225 is configured to release one or more resource sets 230 by scrambling (e.g., encoding) a portion of DCI message 225 according to CS-RNTI, based on an NDI field, or both.
[0117] In some respects, after determining that DCI message 225 is configured to release resource set 230, UE 115-a may further verify (e.g., confirm, acknowledge) that DCI message 225 is configured to release resource set based on the values (e.g., bit values) of fields (e.g., RV field, MCS field, FDRA field, or any combination thereof) within DCI message 225. Additionally or alternatively, UE 115-a may verify that DCI message 225 is configured to release resource set 230 based on the type of the FDRA field within DCI message 225.
[0118] For example, if DCI message 225 includes one of DCI formats 0_0, 0_1, or 0_2, and if the RV field of DCI message 225 is set to a first value (e.g., RV field = 0), the MCS field of DCI message 225 is set to a second value (e.g., MCS field = 1), and the FDRA field of DCI message 225 is set to a first value (e.g., FDRA field = 0) for all component carriers 210 in which resource 230 is to be released (where μ = 1) and a second value (e.g., FDRA field = 1) for all component carriers 210 in which resource 230 is not to be released, then UE 115-a can verify that DCI message 225 is configured to release resource set 230.
[0119] Additionally or alternatively, if at least one component carrier 210 including the resource set 230 to be released includes an FDRA field set to a first value (e.g., FDRA field = 0) for FDRA type 2 (where ] = 1), then UE 115-a can verify that DCI message 225 is configured to release resource set 230. In this example, the at least one component carrier 210 used for verification including FDRA field = 0 can include any component carrier 210 in the component carrier set 210. For example, the at least one component carrier 210 used for verification including FDRA field = 0 can include the component carrier 210 with the highest or lowest cell index among the component carriers 210 on which the resource set 230 is to be released, the same component carrier 210 on which DCI message 225 is received (e.g., component carrier 210-a), the component carrier 210 associated with the resource set 230 within the communication configuration for communication between UE 115-a and base station 105-a, or any combination thereof. In this respect, in some cases, UE115-a can verify that DCI message 225 is configured to release resources based only on a subset of the FDRA fields associated with component carrier set 210.
[0120] As another example, if DCI message 225 includes one of DCI formats 1_0, 1_1, or 1_2, and if the RV field of DCI message 225 is set to a first value (e.g., RV field = 0), the MCS field of DCI message 225 is set to a second value (e.g., MCS field = 1), and the FDRA field of DCI message 225 is set to a first value (e.g., FDRA field = 0) for FDRA type 0 for dynamic switching of all component carriers 210 in which resource set 230 is to be released, and is set to a second value (e.g., FDRA field = 1) for FDRA type 1 for FDRA type 1 that does not include all component carriers 210 in which resource set 230 is to be released, then UE 115-a can verify that DCI message 225 is configured to release resource set 230. Additionally or alternatively, if at least all component carriers 210 of the resource set 230 to be released include an FDRA field that is set to a first value for FDRA type 0 for dynamic handover (e.g., FDRA field = 0), then UE 115-a can verify that DCI message 225 is configured to release resource set 230.
[0121] Therefore, UE 115-b can verify that the DCI message is configured to release a resource set based on various parameters or fields associated with one or more component carriers, including but not limited to the determined FDRA field value, the determined FDRA field type, the RV field value, the MCS field value, or any combination thereof.
[0122] In some aspects, UE 115-a, base station 105-a, or both may identify one or more configurations for releasing resource set 230. In some aspects, UE 115-a, base station 105-a, or both may identify one or more configurations for releasing resource set 230 based on communication configurations identifying communication between UE 115-a and base station 105-a, UE capability message 215, RRC message 220, DCI message 225, determination and / or verification DCI message 225 configured to release resource set 230, or any combination thereof. For example, UE 115-a may identify one or more configurations associated with releasing resource set 230 (e.g., Table 1 above) based on release configurations received from base station 105-a (e.g., release configurations indicated in RRC message 220).
[0123] In some cases, each configuration may include an association between one or more field values (e.g., HPN field value, component carrier field value, CIF value) and mapping pairs of DCI message 225, as shown in Table 1 above. At this point, UE 115-a, base station 105-a, or both may identify and reference one or more configurations to determine which resource sets 230 to release. In some cases, UE 115-a and / or base station 105-a may identify and utilize a single configuration to identify the resource sets 230 to be released. At this point, a single configuration may be common across all component carriers 210 and bandwidth portions (BWPs) on which resource sets 230 can be released, and may be referenced regardless of which component carrier 210 on which DCI message 225 was received. In additional or alternative cases, UE 115-a and / or base station 105-a may identify multiple configurations associated with the release of resource sets 230. For example, each component carrier 210 in the component carrier set 210 may include a separate configuration such that UE 115-a can identify a first configuration associated with the first component carrier 210-a, a second configuration associated with the second component carrier 210-b, and a third configuration associated with the third component carrier 210-c.
[0124] After identifying one or more configurations, UE 115-a, base station 105-a, or both may choose to be referenced to identify the configuration of resource set 230 to be released. In some aspects, UE 115-a, base station 105-a, or both may identify one or more configurations for releasing resource set 230 based on identifying communication configurations used for communication between UE 115-a and base station 105-a, UE capability message 215, RRC message 220, DCI message 225, determining and / or verifying DCI message 225 configured to release resource set 230, identifying one or more configurations, or any combination thereof.
[0125] In cases where UE 115-a and / or base station 105-a identify only a single configuration for releasing resources (e.g., a single configuration common across all component carriers), UE 115-a and / or base station 105-a may select that single configuration. In other cases where UE 115-a and / or base station 105-a identify multiple configurations for releasing resources, UE 115-a and / or base station 105-a may select a configuration from the identified configurations based on the component carrier 210 on which DCI message 225 is received, the component carrier field value indicated in DCI message 225 (e.g., CIF value), or both. For example, in some cases, a first configuration may be associated with a first component carrier 210-a, and a second configuration may be associated with a second component carrier 210-b. In this example, UE 115-a may select the first configuration upon receiving DCI message 225 on the first component carrier 210-a, and may select the second configuration upon receiving DCI message 225 on the second component carrier 210-b.
[0126] Additionally or alternatively, each identified configuration may be associated with a different component carrier field value (e.g., a CIF value). For example, in some cases, a first configuration may be associated with a first component carrier field value (e.g., a first CIF value), and a second configuration may be associated with a second component carrier field value (e.g., a second CIF value). In this example, UE 115-a may select the first configuration if DCI message 225 indicates the first component carrier field value, and may select the second configuration if DCI message 225 indicates the second component carrier field value. In this example, one or more field values indicated in DCI message 225 may include one or more component carrier field values (e.g., CIF values).
[0127] In some aspects, UE 115-a and / or base station 105-a may select a given configuration based on the component carrier 210 on which DCI message 225 is received and the field values indicated in DCI message 225 (e.g., component carrier field values). For example, in some cases, each component carrier 210 may be associated with multiple configurations, where each configuration is associated with a corresponding component carrier field value. In this example, UE 115-a and / or base station 105-a may select a configuration based on determining the component carrier on which DCI message 225 is received and the component carrier field values indicated in DCI message 225.
[0128] UE 115-a, base station 105-a, or both may identify one or more resource sets 230 to be released. In some aspects, UE 115-a, base station 105-a, or both may identify one or more resource sets 230 to be released based on communication configurations used for communication between UE 115-a and base station 105-a, UE capability message 215, RRC message 220, DCI message 225, determination and / or verification DCI message 225 configured to release resource sets 230, identifying and / or selecting one or more configurations, or any combination thereof.
[0129] In some respects, UE 115-a and / or base station 105-a can identify the resource set 230 to be released based on the selected configuration and one or more field values (e.g., HPN field value, component carrier field value, CIF value) indicated in the DCI message 225. For example, if UE 115-a selects a configuration that includes the association between HPN field values and mapping pairs (e.g., Table 1), UE 115-a can identify one or more resource sets 230 to be released by referring to that configuration and identifying the resource sets 230 associated with the mapping pairs corresponding to the HPN field values. For example, UE 115-b can identify that the DCI message includes HPN field value 3 and can refer to the selected configuration (e.g., Table 1) to determine that HPN field value 3 is associated with two mapping pairs: {CC1, SPS / CG index 1}, {CC2, SPS / CG index 2} (e.g., HPN field value 3 = {CC1, SPS / CG index 1}, {CC2, SPS / CG index 2}). In this example, UE 115-a can recognize that the resource set corresponding to SPS and CG index 1 on CC1 will be released, and the resource set corresponding to SPS and CG index 2 on CC2 will be released.
[0130] As another example, UE 115-a and / or base station 105-a can identify the resource set 230 to be released based on multiple field values. For example, DCI message 225 may include component carrier field values (e.g., CIF value) and second field values (e.g., HPN field value). In this example, the component carrier field value (e.g., CIF value) may be associated with a first component carrier 210-a and a second component carrier 210-b, and the second field value may be associated with one or more resource sets 230 (e.g., resource sets 230-a and 230-b). These associations may be indicated in one or more configurations. In this example, UE 115-a can identify the first component carrier 210-a and the second component carrier 210-b based on the component carrier field value; and can identify the first resource set 230-a and the second resource set 230-b based on the second field value. In this respect, UE 115-a can determine that the first resource set 230-a and the second resource set 230-b will be released on the first component carrier 210-a and the second component carrier 210-b, respectively.
[0131] Therefore, UE 115-a and / or base station 105-a can identify the resource set 230 to be released on one or more component carriers 210 based on a combination of multiple field values (e.g., HPN field value, component carrier field value, CIF value). In other words, multiple resource sets 230 to be released across multiple component carriers 210 can be jointly indicated by multiple field values in DCI message 225.
[0132] After identifying the resource set 230 to be released, UE 115-a can release the resource set 230. In this regard, UE 115-a can release the resource set 230 based on the following: identifying the communication configuration used for communication between UE 115-a and base station 105-a; UE capability message 215; RRC message 220; DCI message 225; confirming and / or verifying DCI message 225 configured to release the resource set 230; identifying and / or selecting one or more configurations; identifying the resource set 230 to be released; or any combination thereof. In some aspects, UE 115-a can release the resource set 230 by avoiding its use. In some aspects, UE 115-a can send an uplink transmission (e.g., an acknowledgment message) to base station 105-a indicating that the resource set 230 has been released.
[0133] In some respects, UE 115-a may release resource set 230 based on the time at which it receives the DCI message 225 indicating the release of resource set 230. Specifically, UE 115-a may not expect to receive the DCI message 225 indicating the release of resource set 230 immediately preceding resource set 230. Furthermore, even if UE 115-a receives the DCI message 225 before the resource set 230 to be released, UE 115-a may still be unable to perform the necessary processing to successfully release resource set 230 before using it. In this regard, UE 115-a may release resource set 230 based on receiving the DCI message 225 indicating release within a time period that allows UE 115-a to successfully release resource set 230.
[0134] For example, UE 115-a can recognize DCI message 225 indicating the release of a first resource set 230-a on a first component carrier 210-a and a second resource set 230-b on a second component carrier 210-b. In this example, UE 115-a can recognize a time period (T) in which the first resource set 230-a, the second resource set 230-b, or both may not be released. In some aspects, the time period may include multiple symbols preceding the first resource set 230-a, the second resource set 230-b, or both. For example, in the case where the first resource set 230-a precedes the second resource set 230-b in the time domain, the time period may include multiple symbols preceding the first resource set 230-a. In some aspects, the time period may be based on the subcarrier spacing (SCS) associated with the first resource set 230-a, the SCS associated with the second resource set 230-b, the SCS associated with the first component carrier 210-a and / or the second component carrier 210-b, the SCS of the component carrier 210 on which the DCI message 225 is received, or any combination thereof. In some cases, UE 115-a may determine a single time period for the identified resource set 230 to be released. Additionally or alternatively, UE 115-a may determine a separate time period for each corresponding resource set 230 to be released (e.g., a first time period for the first resource set 230-a, and a second time period for the second resource set 230-b).
[0135] Continuing with the same example, based on the determination that DCI message 225 was received outside of that time period (e.g., before), UE 115-a may release the first resource set 230-a, the second resource set 230-b, or both. Conversely, based on the determination that DCI message 225 was received within that time period, UE 115-a may avoid releasing the first resource set 230-a, the second resource set 230-b, or both.
[0136] In some aspects, UE 115-a, base station 105-a, or both can determine that resource set 230 has been released. In some aspects, UE 115-a, base station 105-a, or both can determine that resource set 230 has been released based on: identifying the communication configuration used for communication between UE 115-a and base station 105-a; UE capability message 215; RRC message 220; DCI message 225; determining and / or verifying that DCI message 225 is configured to release resource set 230; identifying and / or selecting one or more configurations; identifying the resource set 230 to be released; releasing the resource set; or any combination thereof. For example, UE 115-a and / or base station 105-a can determine that resource set 230 has been released based on DCI message 225; the release configuration (e.g., the release configuration indicated in RRC message 220); the identified and / or selected configuration; field values indicated in DCI message 225 (e.g., HPN field value, component carrier field value, CIF value); or any combination thereof.
[0137] The techniques described herein enable multiple individual DCI messages to release multiple resource sets within and / or across multiple component carriers. For example, the techniques described herein enable a single DCI message to release a first resource set (e.g., SPS grant, CG grant) within a first component carrier at UE 115, and a second resource set (e.g., SPS grant, CG grant) within a second component carrier at UE 115. By enabling the release of multiple resource sets within and / or across multiple component carriers, control signaling overhead within the wireless communication system 200 can be reduced, and the flexibility of releasing resource sets can be improved.
[0138] Figure 3 Examples of a resource allocation scheme 300 supporting techniques for releasing a collection of multiple SPS and CG resources according to aspects of this disclosure are shown. In some examples, the resource allocation scheme 300 may implement aspects of the wireless communication system 100 or 200. In some aspects, Figure 3 Resource allocation scheme 300 in the diagram shows a first resource configuration 305-a, a second resource configuration 305-b, and a third resource configuration 305-c.
[0139] In some cases, UE 115, base station 105, or both can identify a communication configuration for communication between UE 115 and base station 105 on component carrier sets (e.g., multiple) 310. In some aspects, the communication configuration may include at least a first resource set on a first component carrier 310-a and a second resource set on a second component carrier 310-b. For example, referring to resource configuration 305-a, UE 115 and / or base station 105 may determine a communication configuration 330, wherein the communication configuration 330 includes resource sets across the first component carrier 310-a, the second component carrier 310-b, and the third component carrier 310-c. In some aspects, resource set 320 may include a downlink resource set associated with SPS grants, an uplink resource set associated with CG, or any combination thereof.
[0140] As described above, the techniques described herein enable a single DCI message 315 to release multiple resource sets 320 across multiple component carriers 310. For example, refer to Figure 3 As shown in resource configuration 305-b, base station 105 can send DCI message 315-a to UE 115 via first component carrier 310-d. In some aspects, UE 115 can be configured to determine that DCI message 315-a is configured to release resource sets, and can be configured to interpret DCI message 315-a based on configurations (e.g., tables) received from base station 105. In this respect, UE 115 can be configured to identify and select one or more configurations, wherein the one or more configurations will be referenced to determine which resource sets 320 will be released. UE 115 can be configured to identify and select one or more configurations, wherein the one or more configurations will be referenced to determine which resource sets will be released based on the component carrier 310 on which DCI message 315-a is received, field values indicated in DCI message 315-a (e.g., HPN field value, component carrier field value, CIF value), or any combination thereof.
[0141] Referring again to resource configuration 305-b, in some cases, UE 115 can identify and utilize a single configuration to identify the resource set 320 to be released. In this respect, the single configuration is common across all component carriers 310-d, 310-e, and 310-f where the resource set 320 can be released, and the BWP is applicable and can be referenced regardless of which component carrier 310 on which DCI message 315-a is received. In additional or alternative cases, UE 115 can identify multiple configurations associated with releasing the resource set 320. For example, each component carrier 310 in the component carrier set 310 may include a separate configuration, such that UE 115 can identify a first configuration associated with the first component carrier 310-d, a second configuration associated with the second component carrier 310-e, and a third configuration associated with the third component carrier 310-f.
[0142] After identifying one or more configurations, UE 115 can select the configuration to be referenced to identify the resource set 320 to be released. Where UE 115 identifies only a single configuration for releasing resource 320 (e.g., a single configuration common across all component carriers 310), UE 115 can select that single configuration. In other cases where UE 115 identifies multiple configurations for releasing resource 320, UE 115 can select a configuration from the identified configurations based on the component carrier 310 on which DCI message 315-a is received, the component carrier field value indicated in DCI message 315-a (e.g., CIF value), or both. For example, in some cases, a first configuration may be associated with a first component carrier 310-d, and a second configuration may be associated with a second component carrier 310-e. In this example, UE 115 can select the first configuration based on receiving DCI message 315-a on the first component carrier 310-d. As another example, UE 115-a can determine that DCI message 315-a includes field values (e.g., CIF values) associated with a given configuration, and can select a given configuration based on those field values.
[0143] After identifying the configuration and / or releasing the configuration, UE 115 can identify one or more resource sets 320 to be released. In some aspects, UE 115 can identify the resource set 320 to be released based on the selected configuration and one or more field values (e.g., HPN field value, component carrier field value, CIF value) indicated in DCI message 315-a. For example, UE 115 can identify one or more resource sets 320 to be released by referring to the configuration and identifying the resource set 320 associated with the mapping pair corresponding to the HPN field value. For example, as shown in resource configuration 305-b, UE 115 can identify via configuration the HPN field value indicated in DCI message 315-a associated with a first mapping pair {CC0, SPS / CG index 2} and a second mapping pair {CC1, SPS / CG index 7} (e.g., HPN field value = {CC0, SPS / CG index 2}, {CC1, SPS / CG index 7}). In this example, UE115-a can identify the resource set to be released corresponding to SPS and CG index 2 on CC0 (e.g., first resource set 320-a) and the resource set to be released corresponding to SPS and CG index 7 on CC1 (e.g., second resource set 320-b).
[0144] Therefore, UE 115 identifies the resource sets 320 to be released on one or more component carriers 310 based on a combination of multiple field values (e.g., HPN field value, component carrier field value, CIF value). In other words, multiple resource sets 320 to be released across multiple component carriers 310 can be jointly indicated by multiple field values in DCI message 315-a. Subsequently, UE 115 can release the identified resource sets (e.g., first resource set 320-a, second resource set 320-b).
[0145] As another example, see Figure 3 As shown in resource configuration 305-c, base station 105 can send DCI message 315-b to UE 115 via second component carrier 310-h. In some aspects, UE 115 can be configured to determine that DCI message 315-b is configured to release resource sets, and can be configured to interpret DCI message 315-b based on configurations (e.g., tables) received from base station 105. In some aspects, UE 115 can be configured to identify and select one or more configurations that will be referenced to determine which resource sets 320 will be released based on the component carrier 310 on which DCI message 315-b is received, field values indicated in DCI message 315-b (e.g., HPN field value, component carrier field value, CIF value), or any combination thereof.
[0146] Referring again to resource configuration 305-c, in some cases, UE 115 can identify and utilize a single configuration to identify the resource set 320 to be released. In this respect, the single configuration is common across all component carriers 310-a, 310-b, and 310-c where the resource set 320 can be released, and the BWP is applicable and can be referenced regardless of which component carrier 310 on which DCI message 315-a is received. In additional or alternative cases, UE 115 can identify multiple configurations associated with releasing the resource set 320. For example, each component carrier 310 in the component carrier set 310 may include a separate configuration, such that UE 115 can identify a first configuration associated with a first component carrier 310-g, a second configuration associated with a second component carrier 310-h, and a third configuration associated with a third component carrier 310-i.
[0147] After identifying one or more configurations, UE 115 can select the configuration to be referenced to identify the resource set 320 to be released. UE 115 can select a configuration from the identified configurations based on the component carrier 310 on which DCI message 315-b is received, the component carrier field value (e.g., CIF value) indicated in DCI message 315-b, or both. For example, in some cases, a first configuration may be associated with a first component carrier 310-g, and a second configuration may be associated with a second component carrier 310-h. In this example, UE 115 can select a second configuration based on receiving DCI message 315-b on the second component carrier 310-h. As another example, UE 115 can determine that DCI message 315-b includes a field value (e.g., CIF value) associated with a given configuration, and can select a given configuration based on that field value.
[0148] After identifying the configuration and / or releasing the configuration, UE 115 can identify one or more resource sets 320 to be released. In some aspects, UE 115 can identify the resource set 320 to be released based on the selected configuration and one or more field values (e.g., HPN field value, component carrier field value, CIF value) indicated in DCI message 315-b. For example, UE 115 can identify one or more resource sets 320 to be released by referring to the configuration and identifying the resource set 320 associated with the mapping pair corresponding to the HPN field value. For example, as shown in resource configuration 305-c, UE 115 can identify via configuration the HPN field value indicated in DCI message 315-b associated with a first mapping pair {CC0, SPS / CG index 3} and a second mapping pair {CC2, SPS / CG index 1} (e.g., HPN field value = {CC0, SPS / CG index 3}, {CC2, SPS / CG index 1}). In this example, UE115 can identify that the resource set corresponding to SPS and CG index 3 on CC0 (e.g., first resource set 320-c) needs to be released, and the resource set corresponding to SPS and CG index 1 on CC2 (e.g., second resource set 320-d) needs to be released.
[0149] As mentioned above, UE 115 can release resource set 320 based on the time it receives the DCI message 315 indicating the release of resource set 320. Specifically, UE 115 may not expect to receive the DCI message 315 indicating the release of resource set 320 immediately preceding resource set 320. Furthermore, even if UE 115 receives the DCI message 315 before the resource set 320 to be released, UE 115 may not be able to perform the necessary processing to successfully release resource set 320 before using resource set 230. In this regard, UE 115 can release resource set 320 based on receiving the DCI message 315 indicating release within a time period that allows UE 115 to successfully release resource set 320.
[0150] For example, referring to resource configuration 305-b, UE 115 can recognize DCI message 315-a indicating the release of a first resource set 320-a on a first component carrier 310-d and a second resource set 320-b on a second component carrier 310-e. In this example, UE 115 can recognize a time period 325-a in which the first resource set 320-a, the second resource set 320-b, or both may not be released. In some aspects, time period 325-a may include multiple symbols preceding the first resource set 320-a, the second resource set 320-b, or both. For example, in the case where the first resource set 320-a precedes the second resource set 320-b in the time domain, time period 325-a may include multiple symbols preceding the first resource set 320-a. In this example shown in resource configuration 305-b, UE 115 may release the first resource set 320-a and the second resource set 320-b based on receiving DCI message 315-a outside (e.g., before) time period 325-a.
[0151] As described above, time period 325-a can be based on the SCS associated with the first resource set 320-a, the SCS associated with the second resource set 320-b, the SCS associated with the first component carrier 310-d and / or the second component carrier 310-e, the SCS of the component carrier 310 on which DCI message 315-a is received, or any combination thereof. In some cases, UE 115 can determine a single time period 35-a for the identified resource set 320 to be released. Additionally or alternatively, UE 115 can determine a separate time period 325 for each corresponding resource set 320 to be released (e.g., a first time period 325 for the first resource set 320-a, a second time period 325 for the second resource set 320-b).
[0152] Similarly, referring to resource configuration 305-c, UE 115 can recognize DCI message 315-b indicating the release of the first resource set 320-c on the first component carrier 310-g and the second resource set 320-d on the third component carrier 310-i. In this example, UE 115 can recognize a time period 325-b in which the first resource set 320-c, the second resource set 320-b, or both may not be released. In some aspects, time period 325-a may include multiple symbols preceding the first resource set 320-a, the second resource set 320-b, or both. In this example shown in resource configuration 305-c, based on receiving DCI message 315-a within time period 325-a, UE 115 can avoid releasing the first resource set 320-a and the second resource set 320-b.
[0153] The resource configurations 305-a, 305-b, and 305-c described herein enable multiple individual DCI messages 315 to release multiple resource sets 320 within and / or across multiple component carriers 310. For example, the techniques described herein enable a single DCI message 315-a to release a first resource set 320-a (e.g., SPS grant, CG grant) within a first component carrier 310-d at UE 115, and a second resource set 320-b (e.g., SPS grant, CG grant) within a second component carrier 310-e at UE 115. By enabling the release of multiple resource sets 320 within and / or across multiple component carriers 310, control signaling overhead within wireless communication systems 100 and 200 can be reduced, and the flexibility of releasing resource sets 320 can be improved.
[0154] Figure 4 An example of a process flow 400 supporting a technique for releasing a collection of multiple SPS and CG resources according to aspects of this disclosure is shown. In some examples, process flow 400 may implement aspects of wireless communication system 100 or 200, resource allocation scheme 300, or any combination thereof, or be implemented by these aspects. Among other aspects, see references... Figures 1-5 As described, process flow 400 may show receiving a DCI, determining that the DCI message is configured to release a resource set, identifying the resource set to be released, and determining the resource set to be released.
[0155] In some respects, process flow 400 may include UE 115-b and base station 105-b, which may be examples of the corresponding devices described herein. Figure 4 The UE 115-b shown can be Figure 2 The example of UE 115-a shown. Similarly, Figure 4 The base station 105-b shown can be Figure 2An example of base station 105-a shown.
[0156] In some aspects, the operations shown in process flow 400 can be performed by hardware (e.g., including circuits, processing blocks, logic components, and other components), code executed by a processor (e.g., software or firmware), or any combination thereof. Alternative examples are possible, in which some steps are performed in a different order than described or not at all. In some cases, steps may include additional features not mentioned below, or more steps may be added.
[0157] At point 405, UE 115-b, base station 105-b, or both can identify a communication configuration for communication between UE 115-b and base station 105-b on a set of component carriers (e.g., multiple). At this point, the communication configuration may include at least a first resource set on a first component carrier in the component carrier set, and a second resource set on a second component carrier in the component carrier set. In some aspects, the first resource set, the second resource set, or both may include a downlink resource set associated with SPS grants, an uplink resource set associated with CG, or any combination thereof. At this point, the first and second resource sets may include a time resource set and a frequency resource set for communication between UE 115-b and base station 105-b.
[0158] At 410, UE 115-b may send a UE capability message to base station 105-b. In some aspects, the UE capability message may instruct UE 115-b to be configured to release two or more resource sets via a single DCI message. Additionally or alternatively, the UE capability message may instruct UE 115-b to be configured to release two or more resource sets across multiple component carriers via a single DCI message. In some cases, UE 115-b may send the UE capability message based on a communication configuration identified at 405 for communication between UE 115-b and base station 105-b.
[0159] At 415, base station 105-b can send an RRC message to UE 115-b. In some aspects, base station 105-b can send an RRC message to UE 115-b based on a communication configuration identified at 405 for communication between UE 115-b and base station 105-b, receiving a UE capability message at 410, or both.
[0160] In some respects, the RRC message can instruct UE 115-b how to interpret a DCI message received from base station 105-b that is configured to release a resource set. In this respect, the RRC message may include an indication of a release configuration used to interpret the DCI message for releasing the resource set. The release configuration may indicate a set of mapping pairs, where each mapping pair of the release configuration may include (e.g., an identifier, indication) a component carrier and a resource for communication between UE 115-b and base station 105-b. For example, a first mapping pair may include {CC1, SPS index}, where the first mapping pair indicates the association between a first component carrier (CC1) and an index associated with an SPS grant on the first component carrier. As another example, a second mapping pair may include {CC2, CG index}, where the second mapping pair indicates the association between a second component carrier (CC2) and an index associated with a CG on the second component carrier.
[0161] In some aspects, a release configuration may include one or more configurations associated with the release of resources. In some aspects, each configuration may include an association between one or more field values (e.g., HPN field values, component carrier field values, CIF values) of a DCI message and mapping pairs. For example, a configuration may include an association between an HPN field value and one or more mapping pairs. For example, a configuration may indicate that a first HPN field value is associated with a single mapping pair (e.g., HPN field value 1 = {CC1, SPS index}), and a second HPN field value is associated with two mapping pairs (e.g., HPN field value 2 = {CC1, SPS index}, {CC2, CG index}). A release configuration may include any number of configurations, where each configuration may indicate any number of associations between field values and mapping pairs.
[0162] At 420, base station 105-b can identify one or more sets of resources to be released. In some respects, base station 105-b can identify the sets of resources to be released based on the communication configuration identified at 405 for communication between UE 115-b and base station 105-b.
[0163] At 435, base station 105-b can identify one or more configurations for releasing a resource set. In some aspects, base station 105-b can identify one or more configurations for releasing a resource set based on: identifying a communication configuration for communication between UE 115-b and base station 105-b at 405; receiving a UE capability message at 410; sending an RRC message at 415; receiving a DCI message at 420; determining at 425 that the DCI message is configured to release resources; verifying at 430 that the DCI message is configured to release resources; or any combination thereof. Furthermore, base station 105-b can select one or more configurations that UE 115-b will refer to in identifying the resource set to be released. In some aspects, base station 105-b can select one or more configurations based on the component carrier on which the DCI message will be transmitted, field values indicated in the DCI message, or any combination thereof.
[0164] At 430, base station 105-b can send a DCI message to UE 115-b. Base station 105-b can send the DCI message on a component carrier in the component carrier set at UE 115-b. For example, base station 105-b can send the DCI message on the first component carrier of UE 115-b. In some aspects, base station 105-b can send the DCI message based on the communication configuration identified at 405 for communication between UE 115-b and base station 105-b, receiving a UE capability message at 410, sending an RRC message at 415, identifying a resource set to be released at 420, and identifying and / or selecting one or more configurations or any combination thereof at 425.
[0165] In some aspects, the DCI message may include one or more field values instructing UE 115-b to release one or more resource sets. For example, if the configuration identified at 405 includes a first resource set on a first component carrier and a second resource set on a second component carrier, the DCI message may include one or more field values instructing UE 115-b to release the first and second resource sets. The one or more field values instructing UE 115-b to release resources may include, but are not limited to, HPN field values, CIF values, or both. Furthermore, in some aspects, one or more field values may be associated with field values indicated in one or more configurations of the release configuration. In this respect, one or more field values indicated in the DCI message may be used to reference one or more configurations of the resource configuration to identify the resource set to be released.
[0166] At 435, UE 115-b, base station 105-b, or both can determine that a DCI message transmitted / received at 430 is configured to release one or more resource sets. In some aspects, UE 115-b and / or base station 105-b can determine that a DCI message is configured to release a resource set based on the NDI field of the DCI message, based on whether at least a portion of the DCI message is scrambled according to CS-RNTI, or any combination thereof. For example, in some cases, a first value of the NDI field in the DCI message (e.g., NDI = 0) can indicate that the DCI message is configured to release and / or activate a resource set (e.g., release and / or activate SPS grants and / or CG), and a second value of the NDI field in the DCI message (e.g., NDI = 1) can indicate that the DCI message is configured to schedule the transmission or retransmission of resources (e.g., schedule retransmission of SPS grants and / or CG). In this example, UE 115-b and / or base station 105-b can determine that the DCI message received at 420 is configured to release resources based on the NDI field of the DCI message indicating a first value (e.g., NDI=0).
[0167] In some aspects, UE 115-b can verify (e.g., determine, acknowledge) that a DCI message received at 420 is configured to release a resource set. In other aspects, UE 115-b can verify that a DCI message is configured to release a resource set based on determining at 435 that the DCI message is configured to release a resource set.
[0168] In some respects, UE 115-b can verify (e.g., determine) that a DCI message is configured to release a resource set based on the values (e.g., bit values) of fields (e.g., RV field, MCS field, FDRA field, or any combination thereof) in the DCI message. Additionally or alternatively, UE 115-b can verify that a DCI message is configured to release a resource set based on the type of the FDRA field within the DCI message. For example, UE 115-b can determine the FDRA field value, FDRA field type, or both associated with each of the first and second component carriers, and can verify that a DCI message is configured to release a resource set based on the determined FDRA field value and the determined FDRA field type.
[0169] At 440, UE 115-b can identify and select one or more configurations for releasing the resource set. In some aspects, UE 115-b can identify and select one or more configurations for releasing the resource set based on: identifying the communication configuration for communication between UE 115-b and base station 105-b at 405; sending a UE capability message at 410; receiving an RRC message at 415; determining at 430 that the DCI message is configured to release resources; verifying that the DCI message is configured to release resources at 435; or any combination thereof. For example, UE 115-b can identify one or more configurations associated with releasing the resource set based on the release configuration received from base station 105-b (e.g., the release configuration indicated in the RRC message).
[0170] As described above, each configuration may include an association between one or more field values (e.g., HPN field value, component carrier field value, CIF value) and mapping pairs of DCI messages. At this point, UE 115-b, base station 105-b, or both may identify and reference one or more configurations to determine which resource sets to release. In some cases, UE 115-b and / or base station 105-b may identify and utilize a single configuration to identify the resource sets to release. In this case, the single configuration may be common across all component carriers and BWPs on which resources can be released and can be referenced regardless of on which component carrier the DCI message was received. In additional or alternative cases, UE 115-b and / or base station 105-b may identify multiple configurations associated with resource release. For example, each component carrier in the component carrier set may include a separate configuration, such that UE 115-b can identify a first configuration associated with a first component carrier and a second configuration associated with a second component carrier.
[0171] In some aspects, the configuration to be referenced to identify the resource set to be released can be selected. In some aspects, UE115-b can select one or more configurations for releasing the resource set based on: identifying the communication configuration for communication between UE 115-b and base station 105-b at 405; sending a UE capability message at 410; receiving an RRC message at 415; receiving a DCI message at 430; determining at 435 that the DCI message is configured to release resources; verifying that the DCI message is configured to release resources; identifying one or more configurations at 440; or any combination thereof.
[0172] In cases where UE 115-b and / or base station 105-b identify only a single configuration at 440 (e.g., a single configuration common across all component carriers), UE 115-b and / or base station 105-b may select that single configuration at 445. In other cases where UE 115-b and / or base station 105-b identify multiple configurations at 440, UE 115-b and / or base station 105-b may select a configuration from the identified configurations based on the component carrier on which the DCI message is received, the component carrier field value indicated in the DCI message (e.g., a CIF value), or both. For example, in some cases, a first configuration may be associated with a first component carrier, and a second configuration may be associated with a second component carrier. In this example, UE 115-b may select the first configuration at 440 if a DCI message is received on the first component carrier, and may select the second configuration if a DCI message is received on the second component carrier.
[0173] Additionally or alternatively, each identified configuration may be associated with a different component carrier field value (e.g., a CIF value). For example, in some cases, a first configuration may be associated with a first component carrier field value, and a second configuration may be associated with a second component carrier field value. In this example, UE 115-b may select the first configuration at 440 if the DCI message indicates the first component carrier field value, and may select the second configuration if the DCI message indicates the second component carrier field value. In this example, one or more field values indicated in the DCI message may include one or more component carrier field values (e.g., CIF values).
[0174] At 445, UE 115-b, base station 105-b, or both can identify one or more sets of resources to be released. In some aspects, UE 115-b, base station 105-b, or both can identify one or more sets of resources to be released based on: identifying a communication configuration for communication between UE 115-b and base station 105-b at 405; sending a UE capability message at 410; receiving an RRC message at 415; receiving a DCI message at 420; determining at 425 that the DCI message is configured to release resources; verifying at 430 that the DCI message is configured to release resources; identifying one or more configurations at 435; selecting a configuration at 440; or any combination thereof.
[0175] In some aspects, UE 115-b and / or base station 105-b can identify resource sets to be released based on a selected configuration and one or more field values (e.g., HPN field value, component carrier field value, CIF value) indicated in the DCI message. For example, if UE 115-b selects a configuration that includes the association between HPN field values and mapping pairs, UE 115-b can identify one or more resource sets to be released by referring to that configuration and identifying the resource sets associated with the mapping pairs corresponding to the HPN field values. For example, UE 115-b can recognize that the DCI message includes HPN field value 10 and can refer to the selected configuration to determine that HPN field value 10 is associated with two mapping pairs: {CC1, SPS index 4}, {CC2, CG index 3} (e.g., HPN field value 10 = {CC1, SPS index}, {CC2, CG index}). In this example, UE 115-b can recognize that the resource sets corresponding to SPS index 4 on CC1 and CG index 3 on CC2 will be released.
[0176] As another example, UE 115-b and / or base station 105-b can identify the resource set to be released based on multiple field values. For example, a DCI message received at 420 may include component carrier field values (e.g., CIF values) and second field values (e.g., HPN field values). In this example, the component carrier field value (e.g., CIF value) may be associated with a first component carrier and a second component carrier, and the second field value may be associated with one or more resource sets (e.g., second field value = {SPS index 2}, {CG index 7}). These associations may be indicated in one or more configurations. In this example, UE 115-b can identify the first and second component carriers based on the component carrier field values; and can identify the first resource set (e.g., {SPS index 2}) and the second resource set (e.g., {CG index 7}) based on the second field values. At this point, UE 115-b can determine that the resource set associated with {SPS index 2} and {CG index 7} will be released on the first and second component carriers.
[0177] Therefore, UE 115-b and / or base station 105-b can identify the resource sets to be released on one or more component carriers based on a combination of multiple field values (e.g., HPN field value, component carrier field value, CIF value). In other words, multiple resource sets to be released across multiple component carriers can be jointly indicated by multiple field values.
[0178] At point 450, UE 115-b can release the resource set. At this point, UE 115-b can release the resource set based on: identifying the communication configuration used for communication between UE 115-b and base station 105-b at point 405; sending a UE capability message at point 410; receiving an RRC message at point 415; receiving a DCI message at point 420; determining at point 425 that the DCI message is configured to release resources; verifying at point 430 that the DCI message is configured to release resources; identifying one or more configurations at point 435; selecting a configuration at point 440; identifying the resource set at point 445; or any combination thereof. In some aspects, UE 115-b can release the resource set by avoiding its use. In some aspects, UE 115-b can send an uplink transmission (e.g., an acknowledgment message) to base station 105-b indicating that the resource set has been released.
[0179] At 455, UE 115-b, base station 105-b, or both can determine the resource set to be released. In some aspects, UE 115-b, base station 105-b, or both can determine the resource set to be released based on: identifying the communication configuration for communication between UE 115-b and base station 105-b at 405; sending a UE capability message at 410; receiving an RRC message at 415; receiving a DCI message at 420; determining at 425 that the DCI message is configured to release resources; verifying at 430 that the DCI message is configured to release resources; identifying one or more configurations at 435; selecting a configuration at 440; identifying the resource set to be released at 445; releasing the resource set at 450; or any combination thereof.
[0180] For example, UE 115-b and / or base station 105-b may determine the release resource set based on DCI messages, release configurations (e.g., release configurations indicated in RRC messages), identified and / or selected configurations, field values indicated in DCI messages (e.g., HPN field values, component carrier field values, CIF values), or any combination thereof.
[0181] The techniques described herein enable multiple individual DCI messages to release multiple resource sets within and / or across multiple component carriers. For example, the techniques described herein enable a single DCI message to release a first resource set (e.g., SPS grant, CG grant) within a first component carrier at UE 115, and a second resource set (e.g., SPS grant, CG grant) within a second component carrier at UE 115. By enabling the release of multiple resource sets within and / or across multiple component carriers, control signaling overhead within wireless communication systems 100 and 200 can be reduced, and the flexibility of releasing resource sets can be improved.
[0182] Figure 5A block diagram 500 of an apparatus 505 supporting techniques for releasing a set of multiple SPS and CG resources according to aspects of this disclosure is shown. Apparatus 505 may be an example of an aspect of UE 115 as described herein. Apparatus 505 may include a receiver 510, a communications manager 515, and a transmitter 520.
