A UWB downlink TDOA real-time positioning method and system

Abstract

This invention relates to a UWB downlink TDOA real-time positioning method and system. The method includes: calculating the time of the next positioning subframe after receiving a message from any base station; waking up the UWB chip in each positioning subframe to receive messages, completing the reception of the basic positioning unit, and obtaining positioning parameters from the messages; wherein the basic positioning unit consists of two consecutive positioning subframes, each containing several base stations transmitting broadcast messages in a time-division manner, and each base station having the same guard time between its transmission time slots; performing distance differential estimation for each pair of base stations based on the positioning parameters; and using the distance differential estimation to perform position estimation. This invention does not rely on clock synchronization during the positioning process and can ensure low-power operation of the positioning base station.
