[0001] Cross-references
[0002] This patent application claims priority to U.S. Patent Application No. 17 / 495,473, filed October 6, 2021, entitled “TECHNIQUES FORINDICATING A CONFIGURATION USING A RESOURCE ALLOCATION INDICATION,” which claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 63 / 090,022, filed October 9, 2020, entitled “TECHNIQUES FORINDICATING A CONFIGURATION USING A RESOURCE ALLOCATION INDICATION,” which has been assigned to the assignee of this application. Technical Field
[0003] The following relates to wireless communication, including techniques for using resource allocation indicators to indicate configuration. Background Technology
[0004] Wireless communication systems are widely deployed to provide various types of communication content, such as voice, video, packet data, message sending and receiving, broadcasting, and so on. These systems can support communication with multiple users by sharing available system resources (e.g., time, frequency, and power). Examples of such multiple access systems include fourth-generation (4G) systems (such as Long Term Evolution (LTE) systems, LTE-A Advanced (LTE-A) systems, or LTE-A Pro systems) and fifth-generation (5G) systems, which may be referred to as New Radio (NR) systems. These systems can employ various technologies, such as Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA), Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA), Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA), Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA), or Discrete Fourier Transform Extended Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (DFT-S-OFDM). A wireless multiple access communication system may include one or more base stations or one or more network access nodes, each of which simultaneously supports communication from multiple communication devices, which may also be referred to as User Equipment (UE).
[0005] The UE can reserve resources on the sidelink channel for communication in a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) wireless communication system. The UE can reserve resources for initial transmissions and, in some cases, one or more retransmissions. Improvements can be made to techniques for efficiently utilizing resources on the sidelink channel. Summary of the Invention
[0006] The described technology relates to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses for supporting the use of resource allocation indications to indicate configuration. Generally, the described technology provides for the release of previously reserved sidelink resources. Specifically, sidelink control information (SCI) may include an indication to release a set of resources previously reserved for retransmissions of sidelink transmissions. For example, a first UE may transmit a first SCI message reserving resources for a sidelink transmission. Upon successful reception of a first transmission of the sidelink transmission by a second UE, the first UE (which transmitted the first SCI message) and / or the second UE may transmit a second SCI message interpreted as releasing remaining resources scheduled by the initial SCI. In some aspects, the second SCI message may include one or more Frequency Domain Resource Allocation (FDRA) field values indicating which previously reserved resources are to be released. In some cases, the second SCI may include one or more FDRA fields reserving one or more additional resources for retransmissions. For example, a Frequency Resource Indication (FRIV) value may indicate both that previously reserved resources will be released and that one or more retransmission resources are used for retransmission of another sidelink message. One or more FDRA field values within the second SCI message used to indicate the resources to be released may include FRIVs (e.g., "unspecified" FRIVs) that are not related to frequency resource reservation.

[0098] In some wireless communication systems, user equipment (UE) can reserve resources for communication on a wireless channel. For example, in a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) wireless communication system, the UE can reserve resources on a sidelink channel to send an initial transmission, and in some cases, to send one or more retransmissions of that initial transmission. The UE can transmit a first sidelink control information (SCI) message on the sidelink channel to reserve one or more resources on the sidelink channel. For example, the SCI message can reserve first sidelink resources for the initial transmission and reserve one or more additional sidelink resources for retransmissions. The SCI message can include an indicator for resource allocation for retransmissions, allowing the receiving device to monitor retransmissions on the corresponding resources. In some cases, the UE can reserve one or more additional resources for retransmissions, but the receiving device may successfully acquire the initial transmission. In this example, the UE may still have reserved resources, but the UE may not use the reserved resources for retransmissions. In some wireless communication systems, these resources may be unused, thus reducing spectral efficiency and resource utilization on the wireless communication channel.
[0099] To enable more efficient use of sidelink communication resources, techniques for releasing sidelink resources are described. Specifically, an SCI message may include an indication to release a set of resources previously reserved for retransmissions of a sidelink transmission. For example, a first UE may transmit a first SCI message reserving resources for a sidelink transmission. In some cases, the reserved resources may include resources in the same time slot as the first SCI message used for the initial sidelink transmission, as well as resources in subsequent time slots for retransmissions of the sidelink transmission at one or more retransmission times. If the first transmission of the sidelink transmission is successfully received by a second UE, the first UE (which transmitted the first SCI message) and / or the second UE may transmit a second SCI message interpreted as releasing the remaining resources scheduled by the first SCI message.
[0100] In some aspects, a second SCI message indicating the release of previously reserved sidelink resources may include one or more Frequency Domain Resource Allocation (FDRA) field values that may also reserve additional sidelink resources for sidelink communication. The one or more FDRA field values within the second SCI message indicating the additional sidelink resource reservation may include FRIVs (e.g., "unspecified" FRIVs) unrelated to frequency resource reservation. In some aspects, a UE receiving the second SCI message (e.g., a first UE and / or a second UE) may be configured to determine that the release of sidelink resources indicated by the second SCI message is associated with resources reserved by the first SCI message, based on explicit indicators (e.g., transmission identifier, reception identifier) within the first SCI message and / or the second SCI message, based on a configured or determined relationship between the first and second SCI messages (e.g., the resource range allocated to the second SCI message relative to the first SCI message, a pre-configured relationship between the first and second SCI messages), or both. These techniques described herein enable more efficient use of resources in sidelink communication networks.
[0101] In some alternative or additional aspects, the FDRA field, the Time Domain Resource Allocation (TDRA) field, or both can be used to indicate configuration. For example, the value of the FDRA field, the TDRA field, or both can be set to one of the values unrelated to resource reservation to indicate a specific configuration. For example, the FDRA field or the TDRA field, or both, can indicate rate matching configuration, trunk information, resource reuse information, traffic priority information, SCI message field interpretation configuration, or any combination thereof.
[0102] The aspects of this disclosure are initially described in the context of wireless communication systems. These aspects are further explained and described by way of apparatus diagrams, system diagrams, and flowcharts relating to techniques for indicating configuration using resource allocation instructions.
[0103] Figure 1 Examples of wireless communication system 100 supported by various aspects of this disclosure for using resource allocation instructions to indicate configuration are described. Wireless communication system 100 may include one or more base stations 105, one or more UEs 115, and a core network 130. In some examples, wireless communication system 100 may be a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, an Advanced LTE (LTE-A) network, an LTE-A Pro network, or a New Radio (NR) network. In some examples, wireless communication system 100 may support enhanced broadband communication, ultra-reliable (e.g., mission-critical) communication, low latency communication, communication with low-cost and low-complexity devices, or any combination thereof.
[0104] Base station 105 can be distributed across a geographical area to form wireless communication system 100, and can be different types of devices or devices with different capabilities. Base station 105 and UE 115 can communicate wirelessly via one or more communication links 125. Each base station 105 can provide a coverage area 110, and UE 115 and base station 105 can establish one or more communication links 125 on the coverage area 110. Coverage area 110 can be an example of a geographical area over which base station 105 and UE 115 can support signal communication according to one or more radio access technologies.
[0105] Each UE 115 can be distributed throughout the coverage area 110 of the wireless communication system 100, and each UE 115 can be stationary or mobile, or stationary and mobile at different times. Each UE 115 can be a different type of device or a device with different capabilities. Figure 1 The document describes some example UE 115s. The UE 115 described herein can communicate with various types of devices, such as other UE 115s, base station 105, or network equipment (e.g., core network nodes, relay equipment, integrated access and backhaul (IAB) nodes, or other network equipment). Figure 1 As shown in the image.
[0106] Each base station 105 may communicate with the core network 130, or with each other, or both. For example, base station 105 may interface with the core network 130 via one or more backhaul links 120 (e.g., via S1, N2, N3, or other interfaces). Base stations 105 may communicate with each other directly (e.g., directly between base stations 105), indirectly (e.g., via the core network 130), or directly and indirectly on backhaul links 120 (e.g., via X2, Xn, or other interfaces). In some examples, backhaul link 120 may be or include one or more radio links.
[0107] One or more of the base stations 105 described herein may include, or may be referred to by those skilled in the art as, base transceiver station, radio base station, access point, radio transceiver, B node, evolved B node (eNB), next-generation B node or gigabit B node (any of which may be referred to as gNB), home B node, home evolved B node, or other suitable terms.
[0108] UE 115 may include or be referred to as a mobile device, wireless device, remote device, handheld device, or subscriber device, or any other suitable term, wherein "device" may also be referred to as a unit, station, terminal, or client, etc. UE 115 may also include or be referred to as a personal electronic device, such as a cellular phone, personal digital assistant (PDA), tablet computer, laptop computer, or personal computer. In some examples, UE 115 may include or be referred to as a wireless local loop (WLL) station, Internet of Things (IoT) device, Internet of Everything (IoE) device, or machine-type communication (MTC) device, which may be implemented in various objects such as appliances or vehicles, meters, etc.
[0109] The UE 115 described herein can communicate with various types of devices, such as other UEs 115 that sometimes act as relays, as well as base station 105 and network equipment including macro eNBs or gNBs, small cell eNBs or gNBs, relay base stations, etc. Figure 1 As shown in the image.
[0110] UE 115 and base station 105 can wirelessly communicate with each other via one or more communication links 125 on one or more carriers. The term "carrier" can refer to a set of radio frequency spectrum resources having a defined physical layer structure for supporting communication link 125. For example, a carrier for communication link 125 may include a portion of the radio spectrum band (e.g., a bandwidth portion (BWP)) operating according to one or more physical layer channels for a given radio access technology (e.g., LTE, LTE-A, LTE-A Pro, NR). Each physical layer channel may carry acquisition signaling (e.g., synchronization signals, system information), control signaling coordinating carrier operation, user data, or other signaling. Wireless communication system 100 may support communication with UE 115 using carrier aggregation or multi-carrier operation. UE 115 may be configured to have multiple downlink component carriers and one or more uplink component carriers according to a carrier aggregation configuration. Carrier aggregation may be used in conjunction with both frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex (TDD) component carriers.
[0111] In some examples (e.g., in a carrier aggregation configuration), the carrier may also have acquisition signaling or control signaling to coordinate the operation of other carriers. The carrier may be associated with a frequency channel (e.g., an Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA) Absolute Radio Frequency Channel Number (EARFCN)) and may be located according to a channel grid for discovery by UE 115. The carrier may operate in an autonomous mode in which initial acquisition and connection can be performed by UE 115 via that carrier, or in a non-autonomous mode in which the carrier may connect to carriers anchored using different carriers (e.g., different carriers of the same or different radio access technologies).
[0112] The communication link 125 shown in the wireless communication system 100 may include uplink transmission from UE 115 to base station 105, or downlink transmission from base station 105 to UE 115. The carrier may carry downlink or uplink communication (e.g., in FDD mode), or may be configured to carry both downlink and uplink communication (e.g., in TDD mode).
[0113] A carrier may be associated with a specific bandwidth of the radio frequency spectrum, and in some examples, the carrier bandwidth may be referred to as the carrier or the “system bandwidth” of the wireless communication system 100. For example, the carrier bandwidth may be one of several defined bandwidths (e.g., 1.4, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 40, or 80 MHz) of a carrier for a particular radio access technology. Devices of the wireless communication system 100 (e.g., base station 105, UE 115, or both) may have a hardware configuration that supports communication over a specific carrier bandwidth, or may be configurable to support communication over a single carrier bandwidth within a set of carrier bandwidths. In some examples, the wireless communication system 100 may include a base station 105 or UE 115 that supports simultaneous communication via carriers associated with multiple carrier bandwidths. In some examples, each served UE 115 may be configured to operate over a portion (e.g., a subband, BWP) or all of the carrier bandwidth.
[0114] The signal waveform transmitted on the carrier may include multiple subcarriers (e.g., using multi-carrier modulation (MCM) techniques, such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) or discrete Fourier transform extended OFDM (DFT-S-OFDM)). In a system employing MCM, a resource element may include a symbol period (e.g., the duration of a modulation symbol) and a subcarrier, where the symbol period and subcarrier spacing are inversely related. The number of bits carried by each resource element may depend on the modulation scheme (e.g., the order of the modulation scheme, the code rate of the modulation scheme, or both). Thus, the more resource elements the UE 115 receives and the higher the order of the modulation scheme, the higher the data rate the UE 115 can achieve. Wireless communication resources can refer to a combination of radio frequency spectrum resources, temporal resources, and spatial resources (e.g., spatial layers or beams), and using multiple spatial layers can further improve the data rate or data integrity of communication with the UE 115.
[0115] One or more sets of parameters can be supported for a carrier, where the parameter set may include the subcarrier spacing (Δf) and the cyclic prefix. A carrier can be divided into one or more BWPs with the same or different parameter designs. In some examples, the UE 115 can be configured with multiple BWPs. In some examples, a single BWP for a carrier can be active at a given time, and communication for the UE 115 can be limited to one or more active BWPs.
[0116] The time interval of base station 105 or UE 115 can be expressed as a multiple of a basic time unit, such as the sampling period T. s =1 / (Δf) max ·N f ) seconds, where Δf max This can represent the maximum supported subcarrier spacing, while N f This can represent the maximum supported Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) size. The time interval of the communication resources can be organized according to radio frames, each with a specified duration (e.g., 10 milliseconds (ms)). Each radio frame can be identified by a System Frame Number (SFN) (e.g., ranging from 0 to 1023).
[0117] Each frame may include multiple consecutively numbered subframes or time slots, and each subframe or time slot may have the same duration. In some examples, a frame may (e.g., in the time domain) be divided into subframes, and each subframe may be further divided into several time slots. Alternatively, each frame may include a variable number of time slots, and the number of time slots may depend on the subcarrier spacing. Each time slot may include several symbol periods (e.g., depending on the length of the cyclic prefix added before each symbol period). In some wireless communication systems 100, time slots may be further divided into multiple mini-time slots containing one or more symbols. Excluding the cyclic prefix, each symbol period may contain one or more (e.g., N) symbols. f Sampling period. The duration of the symbol period can depend on the subcarrier spacing or the operating frequency band.
[0118] A subframe, time slot, mini-slot, or symbol can be the smallest scheduling unit of the wireless communication system 100 (e.g., in the time domain) and can be referred to as a transmission time interval (TTI). In some examples, the duration of the TTI (e.g., the number of symbol periods in the TTI) can be variable. Additionally or alternatively, the smallest scheduling unit of the wireless communication system 100 can be dynamically selected (e.g., in bursts of shortened TTIs (sTTIs)).
[0119] Physical channels can be multiplexed on a carrier using various techniques. Physical control channels and physical data channels can be multiplexed on a downlink carrier, for example, using one or more of Time Division Multiplexing (TDM), Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM), or hybrid TDM-FDM techniques. A control region (e.g., a control resource set (CORESET)) for physical control channels can be defined by the number of symbol periods and can extend across the system bandwidth or a subset of the system bandwidth of the carrier. One or more control regions (e.g., CORESET) can be configured for a set of UEs 115. For example, one or more UEs 115 can monitor or search control regions for control information based on one or more search space sets, and each search space set can include one or more control channel candidates in one or more aggregation levels arranged in a cascaded manner. An aggregation level for control channel candidates can refer to the number of control channel resources (e.g., control channel elements (CCEs)) associated with coded information in a control information format having a given payload size. The search space set may include a common search space set configured to send control information to multiple UEs 115 and a UE-specific search space set configured to send control information to a specific UE 115.
[0120] Each base station 105 may provide communication coverage via one or more cells (e.g., macrocells, small cells, hotspots, or other types of cells, or any combination thereof). The term "cell" may refer to a logical communication entity used to communicate with base station 105 (e.g., on a carrier) and may be associated with an identifier used to distinguish adjacent cells (e.g., Physical Cell Identifier (PCID), Virtual Cell Identifier (VCID), or others). In some examples, a cell may also refer to a geographic coverage area 110 or a portion of geographic coverage area 110 (e.g., a sector) on which a logical communication entity operates. The extent of such cells may vary from smaller areas (e.g., structures, subsets of structures) to larger areas depending on various factors (such as the capabilities of base station 105). For example, a cell may be or include buildings, subsets of buildings, or external space between or overlapping geographic coverage areas 110, among other examples.
[0121] Macrocells typically cover a relatively large geographic area (e.g., a radius of several kilometers) and allow unrestricted access for UEs 115 that have service subscriptions with a network provider supporting the macrocell. Small cells may be associated with a lower-power base station 105 (compared to macrocells) and may operate in the same or different (e.g., licensed or unlicensed) frequency bands as macrocells. Small cells may provide unrestricted access to UEs 115 that have service subscriptions with a network provider, or may provide restricted access to UEs 115 associated with the small cell (e.g., UEs 115 in a Closed Subscriber Group (CSG), or UEs 115 associated with a user in a home or office). Base station 105 may support one or more cells and may also support communication on one or more cells using one or more component carriers.
[0122] In some examples, a carrier can support multiple cells and can be configured with different cells based on different protocol types that can provide access for different types of devices (e.g., MTC, Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT), Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB)).
[0123] In some examples, base station 105 may be mobile, and thus provide communication coverage to mobile geographic coverage areas 110. In some examples, different geographic coverage areas 110 associated with different technologies may overlap, but the different geographic coverage areas 110 may be supported by the same base station 105. In other examples, overlapping geographic coverage areas 110 associated with different technologies may be supported by different base stations 105. Wireless communication system 100 may include, for example, a heterogeneous network, in which different types of base stations 105 use the same or different radio access technologies to provide coverage to various geographic coverage areas 110.
[0124] The wireless communication system 100 can support synchronous or asynchronous operation. For synchronous operation, base stations 105 can have similar frame timing, and transmissions from different base stations 105 can be approximately time-aligned. For asynchronous operation, base stations 105 can have different frame timing, and transmissions from different base stations 105 may not be time-aligned in some examples. The techniques described herein can be used for both synchronous and asynchronous operation.
[0125] Some UE 115 devices (such as MTC or IoT devices) can be low-cost or low-complexity devices and can provide automated communication between machines (e.g., via machine-to-machine (M2M) communication). M2M communication or MTC can refer to data communication technologies that allow devices to communicate with each other or with base station 105 without human intervention. In some examples, M2M communication or MTC may include communication from devices that have integrated sensors or meters to measure or capture information and relay such information to a central server or application that uses the information or presents it to people interacting with the application. Some UE 115 devices may be designed to collect information or automate the behavior of machines or other devices. Examples of applications for MTC devices include: smart metering, inventory monitoring, water level monitoring, equipment monitoring, healthcare monitoring, wilderness survival monitoring, weather and geographic event monitoring, queue management and tracking, remote security sensing, physical access control, and transaction-based commercial toll collection.
[0126] Some UEs 115 can be configured to operate in reduced-power modes, such as half-duplex communication (e.g., a mode that supports unidirectional communication via transmission or reception but not simultaneous transmission and reception). In some examples, half-duplex communication can be performed at a reduced peak rate. Other power-saving techniques for UEs 115 include entering a power-saving deep sleep mode when not engaged in active communication, operating on limited bandwidth (e.g., according to narrowband communication), or a combination of these techniques. For example, some UEs 115 can be configured to operate using a narrowband protocol type associated with a defined portion or range (e.g., subcarriers or resource block (RB) set) within the carrier, within the carrier's guard band, or outside the carrier.
[0127] Wireless communication system 100 may be configured to support ultra-reliable communication or low latency communication, or various combinations thereof. For example, wireless communication system 100 may be configured to support ultra-reliable low latency communication (URLLC) or mission-critical communication. UE 115 may be designed to support ultra-reliable, low latency, or mission-critical functions (e.g., mission-critical functions). Ultra-reliable communication may include private or group communication and may be supported by one or more mission-critical services, such as Mission-Critical Talk-to-Talk (MCPTT), Mission-Critical Video (MCVideo), or Mission-Critical Data (MCData)). Support for mission-critical functions may include prioritization of services, and mission-critical services may be used for public safety or general business applications. The terms ultra-reliable, low latency, mission-critical, and ultra-reliable low latency are used interchangeably herein.
[0128] In some examples, UE 115 may also be able to communicate directly with other UE 115 on a device-to-device (D2D) communication link 135 (e.g., using a peer-to-peer (P2P) or D2D protocol). One or more UE 115s utilizing D2D communication may be within the geographic coverage area 110 of base station 105. Other UE 115s in such a group may be outside the geographic coverage area 110 of base station 105 or may be unable to receive transmissions from base station 105 for other reasons. In some examples, groups of UE 115s communicating via D2D communication may utilize a one-to-many (1:M) system, where each UE 115 transmits to every other UE 115 in the group. In some examples, base station 105 facilitates the scheduling of resources for D2D communication. In other cases, D2D communication is performed between the individual UE 115s without involving base station 105.
[0129] In some systems, the D2D communication link 135 may be an example of a communication channel (such as a sidelink communication channel) between vehicles (e.g., UE 115). In some examples, vehicles may communicate using vehicle-to-vehicle (V2X) communication, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication, or some combination of these communications. Vehicles may signal information related to traffic conditions, signaling, weather, safety, emergencies, or any other information relevant to the V2X system. In some examples, vehicles in a V2X system may communicate via vehicle-to-network (V2N) communication through one or more network nodes (e.g., base station 105) with roadside infrastructure (such as roadside units), or with the network, or with both.
[0130] Core network 130 provides user authentication, access authorization, tracking, Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity, and other access, routing, or mobility functions. Core network 130 can be an evolved packet core (EPC) or a 5G core (5GC). The EPC or 5GC may include at least one control plane entity (e.g., a Mobility Management Entity (MME), Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF)) managing access and mobility, and at least one user plane entity (e.g., a Serving Gateway (S-GW), Packet Data Network (PDN) Gateway (P-GW), or User Plane Function (UPF)) routing packets or interconnecting to external networks. The control plane entity manages non-access stratum (NAS) functions, such as mobility, authentication, and bearer management of UE 115 served by base station 105 associated with core network 130. User IP packets can be delivered through the user plane entity, which provides IP address allocation and other functions. The user plane entity may be connected to one or more network operator IP services 150. The IP service 150 may include access to the Internet, intranet, IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), or packet-switched streaming services.
[0131] Some network devices (such as base station 105) may include sub-components, such as access network entity 140, which may be an example of an access node controller (ANC). Each access network entity 140 may communicate with each UE 115 through one or more other access network transport entities 145, which may be referred to as a radio headend, smart radio headend, or transmit / receive point (TRP). Each access network transport entity 145 may include one or more antenna panels. In some configurations, the various functions of each access network entity 140 or base station 105 may be distributed across various network devices (e.g., radio headends and ANCs) or combined into a single network device (e.g., base station 105).
[0132] Wireless communication system 100 can operate using one or more frequency bands, typically in the range of 300 MHz to 300 GHz. Generally, the 300 MHz to 3 GHz band is referred to as a UHF band or decimeter band because the wavelengths range from approximately 1 decimeter to 1 meter. UHF waves can be blocked or redirected by buildings and environmental features, but these waves can penetrate various structures sufficiently for macrocells to provide service to UE 115 located indoors. Compared to transmissions using smaller frequencies and longer waves in the lower HF or VHF portions of the spectrum below 300 MHz, UHF wave transmission can be associated with smaller antennas and shorter ranges (e.g., less than 100 km).
[0133] The wireless communication system 100 can also operate in the ultra-high frequency (SHF) zoning using a frequency band from 3 GHz to 30 GHz (also known as the centimeter band) or in the extremely high frequency (EHF) zoning using a spectrum (e.g., from 30 GHz to 300 GHz) (also known as the millimeter band). In some examples, the wireless communication system 100 can support millimeter-wave (mmW) communication between the UE 115 and the base station 105, and the EHF antennas of the corresponding devices can be smaller and more closely spaced than UHF antennas. In some examples, this can facilitate the use of antenna arrays within the device. However, the propagation of EHF transmissions may suffer from even greater atmospheric attenuation and shorter range than SHF or UHF transmissions. The techniques disclosed herein can be employed across transmissions using one or more different frequency zonings, and the frequency band usage specified across these frequency zonings may vary by country or regulatory authority.
[0134] Wireless communication system 100 may utilize both licensed and unlicensed radio spectrum bands. For example, wireless communication system 100 may employ licensed assisted access (LAA), LTE unlicensed (LTE-U) radio access technology, or NR technology in unlicensed frequency bands (such as the 5 GHz Industrial, Scientific, and Medical (ISM) band). When operating in unlicensed radio spectrum bands, devices (such as base station 105 and UE 115) may employ carrier sensing for collision detection and avoidance. In some examples, operation in unlicensed frequency bands may be based on carrier aggregation configuration (e.g., LAA) in coordination with component carriers operating in licensed frequency bands. Operation in unlicensed spectrum may include downlink transmissions, uplink transmissions, P2P transmissions, or D2D transmissions, etc.
[0135] Base station 105 or UE 115 may be equipped with multiple antennas that can be used to employ technologies such as transmit diversity, receive diversity, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication, or beamforming. The antennas of base station 105 or UE 115 may be located within one or more antenna arrays or antenna panels that can support MIMO operation or transmit or receive beamforming. For example, one or more base station antennas or antenna arrays may coexist at an antenna assembly (such as an antenna tower). In some examples, the antennas or antenna arrays associated with base station 105 may be located in different geographical locations. Base station 105 may have an antenna array with several rows and columns of antenna ports that base station 105 can use to support beamforming for communication with UE 115. Similarly, UE 115 may have one or more antenna arrays that can support various MIMO or beamforming operations. Additionally or alternatively, the antenna panel may support radio frequency beamforming for signals transmitted via the antenna ports.
[0136] Base station 105 or UE 115 can use MIMO communication to leverage multipath signal propagation and improve spectral efficiency by transmitting or receiving multiple signals via different spatial layers. This technique is known as spatial multiplexing. For example, a transmitting device may transmit multiple signals via different antennas or different combinations of antennas. Similarly, a receiving device may receive multiple signals via different antennas or different combinations of antennas. Each of the multiple signals may be referred to as a separate spatial stream and may carry bits associated with the same data stream (e.g., the same codeword) or different data streams (e.g., different codewords). Different spatial layers may be associated with different antenna ports used for channel measurement and reporting. MIMO techniques include single-user MIMO (SU-MIMO), where multiple spatial layers are transmitted to the same receiving device; and multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO), where multiple spatial layers are transmitted to multiple devices.
[0137] Beamforming (also known as spatial filtering, directional transmission, or directional reception) is a signal processing technique that can be used at a transmitting or receiving device (e.g., base station 105, UE 115) to shape or guide an antenna beam (e.g., a transmit beam, a receive beam) along a spatial path between the transmitting and receiving devices. Beamforming can be achieved by combining signals transmitted via antenna elements of an antenna array, such that some signals propagating relative to a particular orientation of the antenna array experience constructive interference, while others experience destructive interference. Adjustments to the signals transmitted via the antenna elements may include the transmitting or receiving device applying amplitude offset, phase offset, or both to the signals carried via the antenna elements associated with that device. The adjustments associated with each antenna element may be defined by a beamforming weight set associated with a particular orientation (e.g., the antenna array relative to the transmitting or receiving device, or relative to some other orientation).
[0138] Base station 105 or UE 115 may use beamsweeping techniques as part of beamforming operations. For example, base station 105 may use multiple antennas or antenna arrays (e.g., antenna panels) to perform beamforming operations for directional communication with UE 115. Some signals (e.g., synchronization signals, reference signals, beam selection signals, or other control signals) may be transmitted multiple times by base station 105 in different directions. For example, base station 105 may transmit signals according to different beamforming weight sets associated with different transmission directions. Transmissions in different beam directions may be used (e.g., by the transmitting device (such as base station 105) or the receiving device (such as UE 115)) to identify the beam direction that base station 105 will use for later transmission or reception.
[0139] Some signals (such as data signals associated with a specific receiving device) may be transmitted by base station 105 in a single beam direction (e.g., the direction associated with the receiving device (such as UE 115)). In some examples, the beam direction associated with transmission along a single beam direction may be determined based on the signals transmitted in one or more beam directions. For example, UE 115 may receive one or more signals transmitted by base station 105 in different directions and may report to base station 105 an indication of the signals received by UE 115 with the highest signal quality or other acceptable signal quality.
[0140] In some examples, transmissions performed by a device (e.g., by base station 105 or UE 115) may be executed using multiple beam directions, and the device may use a combination of digital precoding or radio frequency beamforming to generate combined beams for transmission (e.g., from base station 105 to UE 115). UE 115 may report feedback indicating precoding weights for one or more beam directions, and this feedback may correspond to a configured number of beams across the system bandwidth or one or more subbands. Base station 105 may transmit reference signals that may be precoded or unprecoded (e.g., cell-specific reference signals (CRS), channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS)). UE 115 may provide feedback for beam selection, which may be a precoding matrix indicator (PMI) or codebook-based feedback (e.g., multi-panel type codebook, linear combination type codebook, port selection type codebook). Although these techniques are described with reference to signals transmitted by base station 105 in one or more directions, UE 115 may use similar techniques to transmit signals multiple times in different directions (e.g., to identify the beam direction used by UE 115 for subsequent transmission or reception) or to transmit signals in a single direction (e.g., to transmit data to a receiving device).
[0141] A receiver device (e.g., UE 115) may attempt multiple receive configurations (e.g., directional listening) when receiving various signals (such as synchronization signals, reference signals, beam selection signals, or other control signals) from base station 105. For example, the receiver device may attempt multiple receive directions by: receiving via different antenna subarrays; processing received signals according to different antenna subarrays; receiving according to different sets of receive beamforming weights applied to signals received at multiple antenna elements of the antenna array (e.g., different directional listening weight sets); or processing received signals according to different sets of receive beamforming weights applied to signals received at multiple antenna elements of the antenna array, any of which may be referred to as "listening" according to different receive configurations or receive directions. In some examples, the receiver device may use a single receive configuration to receive along a single beam direction (e.g., when receiving a data signal). The single receive configuration may be aligned on a beam direction determined based on listening according to different receive configuration directions (e.g., a beam direction determined to have the highest signal strength, highest signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), or other acceptable signal quality based on listening according to multiple beam directions).
[0142] Wireless communication system 100 can be a packet-based network operating according to a layered protocol stack. In the user plane, communication at the bearer or Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layer can be IP-based. The Radio Link Control (RLC) layer performs packet segmentation and reassembly for communication on logical channels. The Media Access Control (MAC) layer performs priority handling and multiplexing of logical channels into transport channels. The MAC layer can also use error detection, error correction, or both to support MAC layer retransmissions to improve link efficiency. In the control plane, the Radio Resource Control (RRC) protocol layer can provide the establishment, configuration, and maintenance of RRC connections between UE 115 and base station 105 or core network 130 supporting user plane data radio bearers. At the physical layer, transport channels can be mapped to physical channels.
[0143] UE 115 and base station 105 can support data retransmission to increase the likelihood of successful data reception. Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) feedback is a technique used to increase the likelihood of correctly receiving data on communication link 125. HARQ may include a combination of error detection (e.g., using Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC)), forward error correction (FEC), and retransmission (e.g., Automatic Repeat Request (ARQ)). HARQ can improve MAC layer throughput in poor radio conditions (e.g., low signal-to-noise ratio conditions). In some examples, the device may support simultaneous time-slot HARQ feedback, where the device can provide HARQ feedback in a specific time slot for data received in previous symbols within that time slot. In other cases, the device may provide HARQ feedback in subsequent time slots or according to some other time interval.
[0144] Wireless communication systems are widely deployed to provide various types of communication content, such as voice, video, packet data, message sending and receiving, broadcasting, and so on. These systems can be multiple access systems capable of supporting communication with multiple users by sharing available system resources (e.g., time, frequency, and power). Wireless networks (e.g., wireless local area networks (WLANs), such as Wi-Fi (i.e., IEEE 802.11 networks)) may include access points (APs) that can communicate with one or more wireless or mobile devices. APs may be coupled to a network (such as the Internet) and enable mobile devices to communicate via that network (or with other devices coupled to the access point). Wireless devices can communicate bidirectionally with network devices. For example, in a WLAN, a device can communicate with an associated AP via a downlink (e.g., a communication link from the AP to the device) and an uplink (e.g., a communication link from the device to the AP). Wireless personal area networks (PANs) (which may include Bluetooth connectivity) can provide short-range wireless connectivity between two or more paired wireless devices. For example, wireless devices (such as cellular phones) can use wireless PAN communication to exchange information such as audio signals with wireless headsets.
[0145] The UE 115 of the wireless communication system 100 can support techniques for sidelink resource cancellation (e.g., sidelink resource release). Specifically, the UE 115 of the wireless communication system 100 can be configured to release sidelink resources previously reserved for sidelink transmissions via SCI messages. By enabling sidelink resources previously reserved for sidelink transmissions, the techniques described herein can provide more efficient use of sidelink resources and improved spectral efficiency.
[0146] For example, a first UE 115 of a wireless communication system 100 may transmit a first SCI message to a second UE 115 to reserve resources for a sidelink transmission from the first UE 115 to the second UE 115. In some cases, the reserved sidelink resources may include resources in the same time slot as the first SCI message used for the initial sidelink transmission, as well as resources in subsequent time slots for retransmissions of the sidelink transmission at one or more retransmission times. If the first transmission of the sidelink transmission is not successfully received by the second UE 115, the previously reserved sidelink resources may be used to perform a retransmission of the sidelink transmission. However, if the first transmission of the sidelink transmission is successfully received by the second UE 115, the previously reserved sidelink resources may not need to be used for retransmission. In this case, the first UE 115 and / or the second UE 115 may transmit a second SCI message that can be interpreted as releasing the sidelink resources reserved by the first SCI message.
[0147] In some cases, the second SCI message may have the same format as the first SCI message (e.g., SCI1, SCI2). In other cases, the first and second SCI messages have different formats. In some aspects, a second SCI message indicating the release of previously reserved sidelink resources may include one or more FDRA field values for reserving additional sidelink resources for sidelink communication. For example, the second SCI message may include one or more FDRA field values for reserving a second set of resources (e.g., resources for retransmissions of the Physical Sidelink Shared Channel (PSSCH), resources for retransmissions of the second SCI message) for retransmissions of the second sidelink transmission. One or more FDRA field values within the second SCI message indicating the reservation of additional sidelink resources may include FRIVs (e.g., "unspecified" FRIVs) unrelated to frequency resource reservations.
[0148] In some aspects, the UE 115 (e.g., the first UE 115 and / or the second UE 115) receiving the second SCI message indicating the release of sidelink resources can be configured to determine that the release of the sidelink resources indicated by the second SCI message is associated with the sidelink resources reserved by the first SCI message, based on explicit indicators within the first SCI message and / or the second SCI message, based on a configured or determined relationship between the first SCI message and the second SCI message, or based on both. For example, in some cases, the first SCI message and the second SCI message may each include a transmission identifier and / or a reception identifier associated with the first UE 115 and / or the second UE 115, respectively. In this case, the UE 115 receiving the second SCI message can be configured to determine that the second SCI message is associated with the release of the sidelink resources reserved by the first SCI message based on the corresponding transmission / reception identifiers.
[0149] As another example, the first UE 115 and / or the second UE 115 can be configured (e.g., via RRC signaling) with a predefined relationship between the first SCI message and the second SCI message. For example, UE 115 can be configured to determine a pre-configured relationship between the first SCI and the second SCI (e.g., the second SCI is three time slots after the second SCI and within the same subchannel), such that the UE 115 receiving the second SCI message can be configured to determine, based on the pre-configured relationship, the release of sidelink resources reserved by the second SCI message and the first SCI message.
[0150] The techniques described herein enable more efficient use of sidelink resources and improve spectrum efficiency. Specifically, by enabling UE 115 to cancel (e.g., release) sidelink resources previously reserved for sidelink transmissions, the techniques described herein reduce the amount of wasted sidelink resources that may not be used in the event of a successful sidelink transmission, thereby enabling more efficient use of sidelink resources within the wireless communication system 100.
[0151] Figure 2 Examples of wireless communication system 200 supporting techniques for indicating configuration using resource allocation indications according to various aspects of this disclosure are described. In some instances, wireless communication system 200 may implement aspects of wireless communication system 100. Wireless communication system 200 may include UE 115-a and UE 115-b, each of which may include references Figure 1 Example of UE 115 described.
[0152] In some cases, the wireless communication system 200 may be an example of a V2X wireless communication system. UE 115-a, or UE 115-b, or both, may be an example of a vehicle-mounted UE 115 (V-UE), a pedestrian UE 115 (P-UE), a roadside unit, a transmit / receive point (TRP), or another device operating within the V2X wireless communication system. In some cases, UE 115 may be served by one or more base stations 105, one or more roadside units, or any combination thereof.
[0153] UE 115-a and UE 115-b can communicate directly on the wireless channel of the wireless communication system. For example, UE 115-a and UE 115-b can communicate on sidelink channel 205. In some cases, sidelink channel 205 may include resources for a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH) 210, a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) 215, one or more gaps 220 (e.g., gaps 220-a and 220-b), and a physical sidelink feedback channel (PSFCH) 225. In some cases, PSFCH 225 may be located between gaps 220-a and 220-b (e.g., in the time domain). Sidelink channel 205 may span multiple subcarriers. For example, sidelink channel 205 may span up to 27 subchannels, each subchannel comprising ten or more resource blocks. In other examples, sidelink channel 205 may include more or fewer subchannels, and in other examples, the number of resource blocks per subchannel may also vary.
[0154] To transmit sidelink data to UE 115-b, UE 115-a may reserve resources on sidelink channel 205. In some cases, UE 115-a may determine resource allocation. For example, UE 115-a may autonomously decide which resources to use for sidelink communication. In some other examples, base station 105 may configure resource allocation for UE 115-a. For example, base station 105 may assign transmission resources for sidelink resources via downlink control information.
[0155] In the example, UE 115-a can transmit the first SCI message on PSCCH 210 to reserve one or more resources for sidelink data transmission. In some cases, UE 115-a can transmit the SCI message in the first timeslot of PSCCH 210. The first timeslot may include sidelink shared channel resources for sidelink data transmission. In some cases, UE 115-a can reserve one or more additional resources (e.g., timeslots on sidelink channel 205) for retransmission of sidelink data transmission. For example, the first SCI message may reserve two additional timeslots on PSCCH 215.
[0156] The first SCI message may include an example of a first type of SCI message (e.g., SCI1). The first type of SCI message can be decoded by all UEs 115 using sidelink channel 205 to detect reserved resources and avoid collisions. The first type of SCI message may include an indication of traffic priority, an indication of demodulation reference signal (DMRS) mode, an indication of TDRA field value, an indication of FDRA field value, an indication of resource reservation period, or any combination thereof. For example, the traffic priority indication may be three bits. In some cases, the first type of SCI message may include the format for a second type of SCI message (e.g., SCI2), a β offset of the rate matching the second type of SCI message, an indication of the DMRS port, an indication of the modulation and coding scheme (MCS), an MCS table, a PSFCH overhead indicator, and the number of reserved bits, or any combination thereof.
[0157] The FDRA and TDRA indicators can include a number of bits based on the number of time slot reservations and the number of subchannels with reserved resources. For example, the TDRA indicator can include five bits for two reservations or nine bits for three reservations. The Time Domain Resource Indication Value (TRIV) in the first SCI message can indicate the TDRA for retransmission resources. For example, the TRIV in a first type of SCI message can include nine bits for three reservations, including a first time slot (t0) with the first SCI message and initial transmission, a second time slot (t1) for the first retransmission resource, and a third time slot (t3) for the second retransmission resource. In some cases, the TRIV can be determined based on t1 being between 1 and 30 (inclusive) and t2 being greater than t1 and less than or equal to 31. For a single transmission (e.g., no reserved retransmission resources), the TRIV can be set to 0. For two transmissions (e.g., one reserved retransmission resource), the TRIV can be set to a value of {1, ..., 31}. For three transmissions (e.g., two reserved retransmission resources), the TRIV can be set to a value of {32, ..., 496}. In some wireless communication systems, the remaining values {497, ..., 511} may not be specified. In some implementations, UE 115-a may use one of these remaining values to indicate the cancellation of reserved resources.
[0158] FRIVs can also be set to indicate reserved resources in the frequency domain. For example, the FDRA in a Type I SCI message may include the number of bits for two reservations determined by equation (1) and the number of bits for three reservations determined by equation (2), where This corresponds to the number of sub-channels on sidelink channel 205. For example, for 100 sub-channels, the FRIV may include 13 bits for two reservations and 19 bits for three reservations. In some wireless communications, two reservations may have 3142 unused values (e.g., using 13 bits), and three reservations may have 185936 unused values (e.g., using 19 bits). In some implementations, UE 115-a may use one of the unused values to indicate the cancellation of reserved resources.
[0159] (I)
[0160] (twenty two)
[0161] The first type of SCI can be decoded by any receiver using the sidelink channel, including the expected receiver and other sidelink UEs 115, to allow channel sensing and avoid resource conflicts. To receive sidelink data transmission, UE 115-b can perform blind decoding on the sidelink sub-channel of sidelink channel 205 to receive the first SCI message. UE 115-b can identify reserved resources based on TDRA and FDRA indications and attempt to decode the sidelink data transmission. In some cases, UE 115-b may fail to acquire the sidelink data transmission. UE 115-a can retransmit the sidelink data transmission on resources reserved for retransmission. UE 115-b can monitor resources reserved for retransmission and attempt to receive the retransmitted sidelink data. After UE 115-b successfully acquires the sidelink data, UE 115-b can send an acknowledgment (ACK) to UE 115-a (e.g., on PSFCH 225).
[0162] In some cases, UE 115-b can successfully receive sidelink data from the initial transmission. However, UE 115-a may have already reserved one or more retransmission resources via the first SCI message. In some wireless communication systems, these resources may be unused, which reduces channel utilization and spectral efficiency. The wireless communication systems described herein, such as wireless communication system 200, can implement techniques for efficiently reusing these resources to improve resource utilization. In some cases, canceling resource reservations can reduce the channel busy rate of sidelink channel 205.
[0163] In some examples, a Type 1 SCI message may include a configuration indication. This indication may be transmitted via the FDRA, TDRA, or both of the Type 1 SCI message. For example, if the FDRA, TDRA, or both have a value set to one of the unspecified values (e.g., in terms of appending or substitution, it could be used to indicate resource cancellation), then the FDRA or TDRA, or both, may be used to indicate a specific configuration rather than resource allocation. For example, a Type 1 SCI message (e.g., SCI1) may include an indication of a specific configuration for a Type 2 SCI message (e.g., SCI2). In some cases, a Type 1 SCI message may instruct the receiver to reinterpret one or more fields of a Type 2 SCI message. For example, the format field of a Type 2 SCI message may be used to indicate the payload size of the Type 2 SCI message, and the values of the FDRA or TDRA fields of the Type 1 SCI message may indicate a different configuration. For example, the FDRA or TDRA fields of a Type 1 SCI message may indicate that the source identifier in the Type 2 SCI message is not the transmitter identifier, which may be implemented, for example, in a relay scenario. Additionally or alternatively, the first type of SCI message can indicate rate matching information for the second type of SCI message. For example, the first type of SCI message can indicate rate matching of the second type of SCI message with a certain number of sub-channels within the PSSCH. Indicating the rate matching configuration can improve the decoding performance of UE 115 receiving the second type of SCI message.
[0164] Additionally or alternatively, the first type of SCI message may indicate to other UEs 115 that a resource is being actively reused. In some cases, the first type of SCI message may indicate the allowed transmit power for spatial reuse of the resource (e.g., via the FDRA field, TDRA field, or a value of both). For example, the transmitter may indicate that a resource can be reused by one or more other UEs 115, and in some cases, the transmitter may indicate the transmit power that can be used for transmission on that resource. Additionally or alternatively, the first type of SCI message may indicate critical traffic on reserved resources, allowing other UEs 115 to prioritize decoding higher priority or critical traffic. In some cases, the first type of SCI message may instruct the receiving device to select a low reference signal received power (RSRP) threshold for reserved resources with critical traffic. Additionally or alternatively, the first type of SCI message may instruct the receiving UE 115 to forward or relay this information to neighboring UEs 115.
[0165] The techniques described herein enable more efficient use of sidelink resources and improve spectrum efficiency. Specifically, by enabling UE 115-a and / or UE 115-b to cancel (e.g., release) sidelink resources previously reserved for sidelink transmissions, the techniques described herein can reduce the amount of wasted sidelink resources that may not be used in the event of a successful sidelink transmission, thereby enabling more efficient use of sidelink resources within the wireless communication system 200.
[0166] Figure 3 Examples of a resource reservation scheme 300, which supports the use of resource allocation instructions to indicate configurations, are described according to various aspects of this disclosure. In some examples, the resource reservation scheme 300 may implement aspects of wireless communication system 100, wireless communication system 200, or both.
[0167] The first UE 115 can schedule a sidelink transmission to the second UE 115 on the radio channel. To send the sidelink transmission, the first UE 115 can reserve initial sidelink resources 305. The first UE 115 can use the initial sidelink resources 305 to transmit the initial transmission of a first SCI message and sidelink data. The first SCI message can also reserve one or more retransmission sidelink resources 310 (e.g., retransmission timing) for retransmission of sidelink data. For example, the first SCI can indicate retransmission sidelink resources 310-a (e.g., a first retransmission timing) and retransmission sidelink resources 310-b (e.g., a second retransmission timing). If the second UE 115 does not receive the initial transmission, the first UE 115 can use the retransmission sidelink resources 310 to retransmit the sidelink data (e.g., the sidelink transmission).
[0168] In some cases, the second UE 115 may successfully receive sidelink data from the initial transmission on the initial sidelink resource 305. In this case, although the retransmission sidelink resource 310 is unnecessary for retransmission due to the successful transmission and reception of sidelink data via the initial sidelink resource 305 (e.g., sidelink transmission), the retransmission sidelink resource 310 may still be reserved for retransmission. Therefore, to improve the efficient use of sidelink resources, the techniques described herein support the release of previously reserved resources (e.g., retransmission sidelink resource 310) via SCI messages. The techniques described herein additionally involve using the FDRA field value in the release / cancel SCI message to reserve an additional set of retransmission sidelink resources 310 (e.g., retransmission sidelink resources 310-c).
[0169] For example, as described herein, a first UE 115 may transmit a first SCI message to a second UE 115 via initial sidelink resource 305. In some cases, the first SCI message may be associated with a first sidelink transmission from the first UE 115 to the second UE 115 (e.g., scheduling the first sidelink transmission). In some aspects, the first SCI message indicates a first set of resources reserved for retransmission of the first sidelink transmission at one or more retransmission times. For example, the first SCI message may reserve retransmission sidelink resources 310-b and 310-c for retransmission of the first sidelink transmission. In some cases (e.g., if the first sidelink transmission is successfully received by the second UE 115), the first UE 115 and / or the second UE 115 may transmit a second SCI message on sidelink resource 315 to cancel or release at least one subset of previously reserved sidelink resources (e.g., cancel or release retransmission sidelink resources 310-a and / or 310-b). For example, the second SCI message may provide the release of retransmission-side link resources 310-a and / or 310-b. In some cases, the first and second SCI messages may each be SCI messages of a first type (e.g., having a common format, such as SCI1, SCI2, or both). In some other examples, the first SCI message may be an example of a first type of SCI (e.g., SCI1), and the second SCI message may be an example of a second type of SCI (e.g., SCI2), or vice versa.
[0170] In some cases, sidelink resource 315 carrying a second or cancel SCI message can be optionally used to facilitate resource cancellation or release. For example, sidelink resource 315 may correspond to time slot n0 and subcarrier j. The released resource may have been reserved by the first SCI message transmitted in time slot n1 and subchannel k, occupying subchannel M1. Additionally or alternatively, sidelink resource 315 may be associated with a configuration relationship (e.g., RRC configuration relationship) relative to the initial sidelink resource 305. In some cases, the earliest retransmitted sidelink resources 310-a and / or 310-b released by the second SCI message transmitted via sidelink resource 315 may be located at n0+n3, where n3 may be the number of time slots based on the PSSCH preparation time. For example, the second SCI message may be transmitted at least n3 time slots before the released retransmitted sidelink resources 310-a and / or 310-b, which ensures that other UEs 115 using the sidelink channel can process the PSSCH and use the resource. In some cases, sidelink resource 315 may be available for at least n2 time slots after initial sidelink resource 305. The number of time slots n2 may be based on feedback timing (e.g., HARQ configuration) of the first UE 115, the second UE 115, or both. For example, n2 may be the number of time slots for the second UE 115 to determine that the initial sidelink data transmission has been successfully received, to transmit feedback (e.g., acknowledgment), and for the first UE 115 to receive the feedback.
[0171] In some aspects, the second SCI message transmitted via sidelink resource 315 may include one or more FDRA field values indicating a second resource set reserved for retransmission of the second sidelink transmission. For example, as Figure 3 As shown, the second SCI message may include one or more FDRA fields indicating retransmission sidelink resources 310-c reserved for retransmission of the second sidelink. Specifically, the retransmission sidelink resources 310-c reserved by the second SCI message may be reserved for retransmission of the second SCI message itself, second sidelink data transmission (e.g., PSSCH transmission), or both. In some aspects, one or more FDRA field values used to indicate the second resource set (e.g., FDRA field values used to reserve retransmission sidelink resources 310-c) may include one or more FRIVs unrelated to frequency resource reservation. In this regard, one or more FDRA field values used to indicate retransmission sidelink resources 310-c may include one or more unspecified FRIVs and / or unspecified FDRA field values.
[0172] In some cases, in addition to the second SCI message providing the release of retransmission sidelink resources 310-a and / or 310-b, the second SCI message may further include one or more FDRA field values for retransmission sidelink resource 310-c reserved for retransmission of the second sidelink transmission. One or more FDRA field values may include unspecified FRIVs. For example, as previously described herein, some wireless communication systems may use 13 bits for two reservations to support FRIVs from 0 to 8191 (e.g., {0, ..., 8191}), where FRIVs from 0 to 5049 (e.g., {0, ..., 5049}) are used to indicate the reservation of frequency resources, leaving 3142 FRIVs from 5050 to 8191 (e.g., {5050, ..., 8191}) that are not used to indicate the reservation of frequency resources. Therefore, in some respects, the techniques described herein can utilize FRIVs (e.g., {5050, ..., 8191}) not specified within the second SCI message to indicate the release of reserved resources, a second set of resources reserved for retransmission (e.g., indicating retransmission-side link resource 310-c), or both.
[0173] In the example, if the FRIV is a 13-bit value used for two reservations, and 5049 out of 8192 possible values are used to indicate resource reservations, then setting the FRIV to one of the remaining 3142 values could be an indication of resource reservation cancellation. The FRIV could be set to a value of 5049 + X*Y to indicate that the FRIV is used to cancel the resource reservation of the first SCI. The receiving device can decode the second SCI, determine that the FRIV is within a certain range (e.g., one of the 3142 values), and determine that the second SCI is used to cancel the resource reservation. In some cases, the receiving device can determine that the transmitter IDs of the first and second SCIs are the same, and the receiving device can determine that the resources reserved by the first SCI are released based on the fact that the second SCI has the same transmitter ID as the first SCI.
[0174] Additionally or alternatively, the first SCI may be associated with a value that can be explicitly indicated by the FRIV of the second SCI. For example, the first UE 115 may transmit multiple SCIs of the first type to schedule multiple different retransmission resources, and the second SCI may explicitly indicate that the first SCI among the multiple SCIs of the first type does not cancel other retransmission resource reservations. In the example, the first SCI may be associated with an X value of 2. The second SCI may include an FRIV with an X value of 2 to indicate that the resource reservation of the first SCI is canceled, thereby releasing the retransmission-side link resource 310-a.
[0175] In this example, the second SCI or the cancellation SCI can reserve an additional resource, such as retransmission sidelink resource 310-c. Therefore, the cancellation SCI can reserve two resources, including sidelink resource 315 and retransmission sidelink resource 310-c. In some cases, there may be up to 3142 possible values to indicate reservation cancellation, so the first UE can use up to 31 X values and up to 100 Y values (e.g., making X*Y within 3142 unused values). For example, the second SCI can include up to 31 values to indicate the resource reservation cancellation and up to 100 values to indicate the frequency information of the retransmission resource reserved by the second SCI. In other examples, X and Y can use different values.
[0176] In some cases, the TDRA indicator (e.g., five bits) can be used to indicate the PSSCH width, value X, or both. Using the five bits in the TDRA indicator, there may be Y*32 resource reservation modes for reserving additional retransmission resources. In some cases, some fields in the second SCI can be used to indicate resource reservation information, such as demodulation reference signal sequence, port, or priority. In some cases, the 5 bits of TDRA can be used for X to indicate resource cancellation, and the 100 values of Y can be used to indicate resources reserved by the second SCI, such as retransmission-side link resource 310-c.
[0177] In the second example, the first UE 115 may transmit a first SCI to reserve three resources. For example, the first SCI may reserve initial sidelink resource 305, retransmission sidelink resource 310-a, and retransmission sidelink resource 310-b. The initial transmission may be successfully received by the second UE 115, and either the first UE 115 or the second UE 115 may use sidelink resource 315 to transmit a second SCI to cancel the reservation of retransmission sidelink resource 310. In some cases, the second SCI may reserve three resources, including two additional retransmission resources, such as retransmission sidelink resource 310-c.
[0178] In some cases of the second example, the second SCI may use FRIV to indicate resource cancellation. The second SCI may include a 19-bit FRIV. For an FDRA indicator with 13 bits for 100 sub-channels, there may be 185,936 values not used to indicate retransmission resource reservation. The second SCI may include FRIV values based on values X, Y, or both. Value X can be used to indicate resource reservation cancellation, and value Y can be used to indicate retransmission resources reserved by the second SCI. In some examples, X and Y may correspond to different subsets of the bits in the FRIV. Additionally or alternatively, X or Y, or both, may be pre-configured to a certain value or number of bits.
[0179] For example, if the FRIV is a 19-bit space used for three reservations, and 338,349 of the 524,288 possible values are used to indicate resource reservations, then setting the FRIV to one of the remaining 185,936 values could be an indication of resource reservation cancellation. The FRIV could be set to a value of 338,349 + X*Y to indicate that the FRIV is used to cancel the resource reservation of the first SCI. The receiving device can decode the second SCI, determine that the FRIV is within a certain range (e.g., one of the 185,936 values), and determine that the second SCI is used to cancel the resource reservation. In some cases, the receiving device can determine that the transmitter IDs of the first and second SCIs are the same, and the receiving device can determine that the resources reserved by the first SCI are released based on the fact that the second SCI has the same transmitter ID as the first SCI.
[0180] Additionally or alternatively, the first SCI may be associated with a value that can be explicitly indicated by the FRIV of the second SCI. The second SCI may include an FRIV with an X value of 2 to indicate that the resource reservation of the first SCI is canceled, thereby releasing the reserved retransmission resource 310. For example, the UE 115 may identify the release in relation to at least one retransmission timing reserved by the first SCI message based on a portion of the second SCI message that includes a checksum or hash function of a portion of the first SCI message. For example, the UE 115 may determine that the second SCI message includes second data that includes a checksum or hash function of at least a portion of the first data included within the first SCI message, and may identify the release in relation to at least one retransmission timing based on a checksum or hash function that identifies the second data as including the first data. In this scenario, the first data included in the first SCI message may include the CRC portion of the first SCI message, the FDRA field value set of the first SCI message, the TDRA field value set of the first SCI message, or any combination thereof. Furthermore, the second data included in the second SCI message may include the CRC portion of the second SCI message, the FDRA field value set of the second SCI message, the DMRS bit value set of the second SCI message, or any combination thereof.
[0181] In some examples, a second SCI or a cancel SCI can retain one or more additional retransmission resources. For example, a cancel SCI can retain sidelink resource 315 and up to two additional retransmission sidelink resources 310. In some cases, there may be up to 185,936 possible values to indicate retention / cancellation. In the example, the X value can be set to a maximum of 30, and the Y value can be set to a maximum of 6,197, which may be sufficient to indicate that up to two retransmission resources are retained. In some cases, the number of resources that can be retained by a cancel SCI can be pre-configured.
[0182] In some cases, the TDRA indicator (e.g., nine bits for three resource reservations) can be used to indicate the PSSCH width, value X, or both. There are Y*512 possible resource reservation modes using the nine bits in the TDRA indicator. In some cases, some fields in the second SCI can be used to indicate information about resource reservations, such as demodulation reference signal sequences, ports, or priorities. In some cases, the nine bits of the TDRA can be used for X to indicate resource cancellation, and the 100 values of Y can be used to indicate resources reserved by the second SCI.
[0183] In some cases, if UE 115 switches from the transmitter to the receiver within a certain number of time slots, UE 115 may not be able to retain canceled resources (e.g., retransmission side link resources 310-a and 310-b).
[0184] In some aspects, UE 115 can be configured to determine the release of resources held by the first SCI message based on explicit signaling within the first SCI message and / or the second SCI message, based on a pre-configured relationship between the second SCI message and the first SCI message, and / or released retransmission resources (e.g., retransmission-side link resource 310), or any combination thereof. These aspects can be further elaborated in this document regarding... Figure 5 To describe in more detail.
[0185] Figure 4 Examples of a resource reservation scheme 400, which supports the use of resource allocation instructions to indicate configurations, are described according to various aspects of this disclosure. In some examples, resource reservation scheme 400 may implement aspects of wireless communication system 100, wireless communication system 200, resource reservation scheme 300, or any combination thereof.
[0186] The first UE 115 can schedule sidelink transmissions to the second UE 115 on the radio channel. To send a sidelink transmission, the first UE 115 can reserve initial sidelink resource 405 (e.g., initial sidelink resource 405-a). The first UE 115 can use initial sidelink resource 405-a to transmit the initial transmission of a first SCI message and sidelink data. The first SCI message can also reserve one or more retransmission sidelink resources 410 for retransmission of sidelink data. For example, as... Figure 4 As shown, the first SCI message transmitted via initial sidelink resource 405-a can instruct retransmission sidelink resources 410-a and 410-b. If the second UE 115 does not receive the initial sidelink transmission associated with the first SCI message transmitted via initial sidelink resource 405-a, the first UE 115 can use retransmission sidelink resources 410-a and 410-b to retransmit the sidelink transmission. Conversely, if the first sidelink transmission is successfully received by the second UE 115, the second SCI message transmitted via sidelink resource 415 can be used to cancel or release retransmission sidelink resources 410-a and / or 410-b.
[0187] In some cases, a sidelink channel can include multiple SCI messages that schedule sidelink transmissions on the sidelink channel. For example, such as Figure 4 As shown, SCI messages transmitted via initial sidelink resource 405-a can retain retransmission sidelink resources 410-a and 410-b, and SCI messages transmitted via initial sidelink resource 405-b can retain retransmission sidelink resources 410-c and 410-d. In this case, UE 115, which identifies the second SCI message transmitted via sidelink resource 415, can be configured to determine whether the second SCI message is associated with the SCI message transmitted via initial sidelink resource 405-a or with the SCI message transmitted via initial sidelink resource 405-b. In other words, UE 115 can be configured to determine whether the SCI message transmitted via sidelink resource 415 is associated with retransmission sidelink resources 410-a and / or 410-b or with the release of retransmission sidelink resources 410-c and 410-d.
[0188] In some respects, UE 115 can be configured to determine the association between the release of resources held by the first SCI message and the release of resources held by the first SCI message, based on explicit signaling within the first SCI message and / or the pre-configured relationship between the second SCI message and the first SCI message and / or the released retransmission resources (e.g., retransmission-side link resource 410), or any combination thereof. This will be discussed in this document regarding... Figure 5 Let's discuss this in more detail.
[0189] Figure 5 Examples of process flow 500 supporting techniques for indicating configuration using resource allocation instructions according to various aspects of this disclosure are described. In some examples, process flow 500 may implement aspects of wireless communication system 100, wireless communication system 200, resource reservation scheme 300, resource reservation scheme 300, or any combination thereof. For example, process flow 500 may be described as referenced... Figures 1 to 4 The first UE 115-c described herein transmits a first SCI message that preserves a first resource set for retransmission of a first sidelink, a second SCI message identifying the release associated with at least one subset of the first resource set, and other aspects. Process flow 500 may include the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-d, and the base station 105-b, which may be as described in reference... Figures 1 to 4 Examples of UE 115 and base station 105 described.
[0190] In some examples, the operations described in process flow 500 can be performed by hardware (e.g., including circuit systems, processing blocks, logic components, and other components), code executed by a processor (e.g., software or firmware), or any combination thereof. Alternative examples can be implemented below, in which some steps are performed in a different order than described or not at all. In some cases, steps may include additional features not mentioned below, or additional steps may be added.
[0191] At 505, the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-d, or both can receive control messages (e.g., RRC messages, downlink control information (DCI) messages). In some aspects, UE 115-c and / or 115-d can receive control messages from base station 105-b. In some aspects, the control message may indicate the relationship between a second SCI message associated with the release of a previously reserved resource and a first SCI message that reserved that resource, the relationship between the second SCI message associated with the release and the released resource itself, a configuration range or scope of resources in which the second SCI message can be received, or any combination thereof.
[0192] For example, such as Figure 3 As explained, the control message may indicate the relationship between sidelink resource 315 (e.g., sidelink resource 315 for transmitting the second SCI message) and initial sidelink resource 305 (e.g., initial sidelink resource 305 for transmitting the first SCI message). Additionally or alternatively, the control message may indicate the relationship between sidelink resource 315 (e.g., sidelink resource 315 for transmitting the second SCI message) and retransmission sidelink resources 310-a and / or 310-b (e.g., retransmission sidelink resource 310 for retransmitting the first sidelink transmission).
[0193] This relationship can be between the second SCI message and the first SCI message and / or sidelink resources released in the time domain, frequency domain, or both. In some aspects, the control message can indicate the range of time resources and / or frequency resources in which the second SCI message can be transmitted or received. The range of time and / or frequency resources in which the second SCI message can be transmitted or received can be defined relative to the resources used for the first SCI message, the resources to be released, or both.
[0194] In some aspects, the control message received at 505 may additionally or alternatively indicate one or more FRIV sets. In some cases, the control message may include a first FRIV set for reserving two resources and a second FRIV set for reserving three resources. For example, the control message may include an indication of a FRIV set (e.g., FRIV{0, ..., 8191}) comprising a first subset of FRIVs associated with frequency resource reservation (e.g., FRIV{0, ..., 5049}) and a second subset of FRIVs unrelated to frequency resource reservation (e.g., FRIV{5050, ..., 8191}). In this regard, base station 105-b may indicate to UEs 115-c and 115-d which FRIVs are used for frequency resource reservation (e.g., which FRIVs are specified) and which FRIVs are not used for frequency resource reservation (e.g., which FRIVs are not specified). Alternatively, UE 115 may determine which FRIVs are specified and which FRIVs are not specified by pre-configuration (e.g., by the number of bits of FDRA and the allowed number of reservations).
[0195] At point 510, the first UE 115-c may transmit a first SCI message to the second UE 115-d. The first SCI message may be transmitted during a first transmission time interval (e.g., a first timeslot). In some aspects, the first SCI message may be associated with a first sidelink transmission (e.g., a PSSCH transmission) from the first UE 115-c to the second UE 115-d. In some aspects, the first SCI message may include a first indication of a first set of resources reserved for retransmission of the first sidelink transmission at one or more retransmission times.
[0196] For example, such as Figure 3As shown, the first UE 115-c may transmit a first SCI message via initial sidelink resource 305 during a first transmission time interval (e.g., a first timeslot), wherein the first SCI message includes a first indication of retransmission sidelink resources 310-a and 310-b. In this example, retransmission sidelink resource 310-a may include a first retransmission timing for retransmitting the first sidelink transmission, and retransmission sidelink resource 310-b may include a second retransmission timing for retransmitting the first sidelink transmission. In some aspects, the first SCI message may include an identifier (e.g., transmitter identifier (ID), receiver ID) that associates the first SCI message with the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-d, or both.
[0197] At point 515, the first UE 115-c can transmit a first sidelink transmission (e.g., sidelink data transmission, PSSCH transmission) associated with the first SCI message to the second UE 115-d. In some aspects, the first UE 115-c can transmit the first sidelink transmission based on the transmission of the first SCI message. For example, the first SCI message can schedule a first sidelink transmission from the first UE 115-c to the second UE 115-d. In this respect, the first UE 115-c can transmit a first sidelink transmission (e.g., PSSCH transmission) to the second UE 115-b based on the first SCI message. In some cases, the first UE 115-c can transmit the first sidelink transmission during a first transmission time interval or a subsequent transmission time interval in which the first SCI message is transmitted.
[0198] At point 520, the second UE 115-d may send a feedback message (e.g., ACK, negative acknowledgment (NACK)) to the first UE 115-c. In some aspects, the second UE 115-c may send a feedback message at point 520 based on whether it received (or did not receive) the first sidelink transmission at point 515. For example, at point 515, if the second UE 115-d has not successfully received the first sidelink transmission, the second UE 115-d may send a NACK to the first UE 115-c. In this example, the feedback message (e.g., NACK) may indicate that the second UE 115-d has not successfully received the first sidelink transmission. Conversely, by another example, at point 515, if the second UE 115-d has indeed successfully received the first sidelink transmission, the second UE 115-d may send an ACK to the first UE 115-c. In this example, the feedback message (e.g., ACK) may indicate that the second UE 115-d has indeed successfully received the first sidelink transmission.
[0199] At 525, the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-c, or both may identify a set of resources (e.g., time resources, frequency resources) on which the second SCI message may or may not be transmitted or received. In this respect, UE 115-c and / or 115-d may identify when the second SCI message can be transmitted or received, releasing (e.g., canceling) resources reserved by the first SCI message. In this respect, UE 115 may identify a configured range of resources (e.g., a configured time resource range, a configured frequency resource range) on which the second SCI message can be transmitted and / or received. In some cases, the configured range of resources on which the second SCI message can be transmitted / received may be defined relative to the resources used to transmit the first SCI message (e.g., a first transmission time interval (first timeslot) during which the first SCI message is transmitted, a sub-channel on which the first SCI message is transmitted). Additionally or alternatively, the configured resource range on which a second SCI message can be transmitted / received can be defined relative to the resources used for the reserved retransmission timing (e.g., the transmission time interval (time slot) of the retransmission timing, the sub-channel of the retransmission timing).
[0200] Therefore, the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-d, or both of these can identify the set of resources on which the second SCI message can or cannot be transmitted or received, based on receiving a control message at 505, transmitting or receiving a first SCI message at 510, transmitting or receiving a first sidelink transmission at 515, transmitting or receiving a feedback message at 520, or any combination thereof.
[0201] For example, the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-d, or both can identify a time period preceding the first retransmission opportunity associated with the first SCI message in one or more retransmission opportunities, during which at least the first retransmission opportunity will not be released. For example, as Figure 3 As shown, the first UE 115-c and / or the second UE 115-d can determine a time period n3 (e.g., a retransmission opportunity) preceding the retransmission-side link resource 310-a, during which at least the retransmission-side link resource 310-a will not be released. By another example, the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-d, or both can identify a time period following the transmission of the first SCI message, during which one or more retransmission opportunities will not be released. For example, as... Figure 3As shown, the first UE 115-c and / or the second UE 115-d can determine a time period n2 after the transmission of the first SCI message via initial sidelink resource 305, during which one or more retransmission opportunities scheduled by the first SCI message (e.g., retransmission sidelink resources 310-a and / or 310-b) will not be released. In some cases, the determined time period can be based on the HARQ configuration associated with sidelink communication. For example, the HARQ configuration can specify that the feedback time interval used to provide feedback to the sidelink transmission includes two time slots. In this example, the time period after the first SCI message (e.g., Figure 3 The time period n2 described herein may include at least two time slots based on the feedback time interval associated with the HARQ configuration.
[0202] At point 530, the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-d, or both can transmit a second SCI message associated with the first SCI message. In some aspects, the second SCI message can be transmitted during a second transmission time interval (e.g., a second timeslot) following a first transmission time interval after the transmission of the first SCI message. In some aspects, the second SCI message can provide the release of at least a subset of a first resource set reserved for retransmission of the first sidelink by the first SCI message, wherein the release is related to at least one of one or more retransmission timings. For example, as... Figure 3 As shown, the second SCI message transmitted via side link resource 315 can provide the release of retransmission side link resource 310-a (e.g., first retransmission timing), retransmission side link resource 310-b (e.g., second retransmission timing), or both.
[0203] In some aspects, the second SCI message may include one or more FDRA field values indicating a second resource set reserved for retransmission of a second sidelink transmission. The second resource set may include one or more retransmission timings for the retransmission of the second sidelink transmission. In some cases, the second SCI message may include one or more FDRA field values that include one or more FRIVs independent of frequency resource reservations (e.g., FDRA values include FRIVs between 5050 and 8191 for two reservations or between 339349 and 52488 for three reservations). In some aspects, the second SCI message may be transmitted with a specified priority that is higher than the priority associated with other transmissions. In this respect, the second SCI message may have a higher priority because the receiving device (e.g., the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-d) is configured to receive and / or decode the second SCI message before other transmissions.
[0204] In some respects, UE 115 can be configured (e.g., via RRC signaling) to interpret FDRA field values (e.g., FRIVs) as releasing one or more retransmission opportunities based on one or more indexes or lookup tables. For example, UE 115 can be configured to refer to one or more lookup tables to determine that a first unspecified FRIV value indicates the release of a first subset of retransmission opportunities, and a second unspecified FRIV value indicates the release of a second subset of retransmission opportunities.
[0205] In some cases, certain additional fields of the first and / or second SCI messages (e.g., TDRA field, DMRS field, DMRS port field, sidelink priority field, PSFCH overhead field) can be reinterpreted as indicating resource reservations, and thus the number of retransmission opportunities within the second set of resources that can be reserved can be expanded.
[0206] UE 115 may transmit the second SCI message based on receiving a control message at 505, transmitting or receiving a first SCI message at 510, transmitting or receiving a first sidelink transmission at 515, transmitting or receiving a feedback message at 520, identifying resources in which a second SCI message can be transmitted or received at 525, or any combination thereof. For example, if first UE 115-c receives a feedback message at 520 indicating that the first sidelink transmission was successfully received by second UE 115-d, first UE 115-c may transmit the second SCI message at 530 based on receiving the feedback message. By another example, if second UE 115-d successfully receives a first sidelink transmission at 515, second UE 115-d may (e.g., to first UE 115-c and any other UE 115 capable of using previously reserved resources) transmit the second SCI message, wherein the second SCI message releases and / or cancels at least one retransmission opportunity reserved for retransmission of first sidelink control information.
[0207] In some respects, the first UE 115-c may prioritize resources available for transmitting the second SCI message, while the second UE 115-d (and / or other UE 115) may lower the priority of resources available for transmitting the second SCI message. For example, UE 115 may identify a set of candidate resources for transmitting the second SCI message based on the transmission of the first SCI message. In this example, UE 115 may determine that the set of candidate resources has a higher priority for being selected for transmitting the second SCI message than for being selected for other sidelink message transmissions. Continuing with the same example, UE 115 may select a set of resources for transmitting the second SCI message from the set of candidate resources based on the higher priority of the set. By another example, UE 115 may identify a set of candidate resources for transmitting the second SCI message based on receiving the first SCI message. In this example, UE115 can determine that the candidate resource set has a lower priority for being selected to transmit other sidelink transmission messages than for being selected to transmit the second SCI message, and can suppress the selection of a resource set from the candidate resource set for transmitting other sidelink transmission messages based on the lower priority of the candidate resource set.
[0208] At point 535, the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-d, or both can identify the second SCI message. In some respects, it can be said that the first UE 115-c and / or the second UE 115-d identify the second SCI message by transmitting the second SCI message, by receiving the second SCI message, or both. For example, from the perspective of the first UE 115-c, the first UE 115-c can identify the second SCI message at point 535 by transmitting the second SCI message at point 530, by receiving the second SCI message at point 530, or both.
[0209] In some respects, as determined at 525, UE 115 may identify the second SCI message within or outside the time interval during which the second SCI message may be received or may not be received. For example, if UE 115 identifies a period during which at least the first retransmission opportunity will not be released before the first retransmission opportunity in one or more retransmission opportunities, the second SCI message may be identified (e.g., transmitted or released) before the start of the identified period. By another example, if UE 115 identifies a period during which at least the first retransmission opportunity will not be released after the transmission of the first SCI message, the second SCI message may be identified (e.g., transmitted or released) after the end of the identified period.
[0210] At 540, the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-d, or both may identify one or more FDRA field values within the second SCI message, which indicate a second resource set reserved for retransmission of the second sidelink transmission (e.g., Figure 3 (Refer to the retransmission side link resource 310-c). In some respects, UE 115 can identify the FDRA field value based on the control message received at 505.
[0211] For example, a control message may include an indication of a set of FRIVs containing a subset of FRIVs (e.g., FRIVs {0,...,8191} for two resource reservations), which includes a first subset of FRIVs associated with frequency resource reservations (e.g., FRIVs {0,...,5049}) and a second subset of FRIVs unrelated to frequency resource reservations (e.g., FRIVs {5050,...,8191}). In this example, UE 115 can identify one or more FDRA field values by identifying one or more FRIVs within a second SCI message, where the one or more FRIVs include one or more FRIVs from the second FRIV subset. In this respect, UE 115 can identify a second resource set for retransmission reservations of the second sidelink control information based on identifying one or more FDRA field values (e.g., FRIVs) unrelated to frequency resource reservations.
[0212] At 545, the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-d, or both may identify one or more additional fields within the second SCI message. These additional fields may include fields associated with DMRS, fields associated with DMRS ports, fields associated with the priority of sidelink communication, fields associated with PSFCH overhead, TDRA fields, or any combination thereof. The one or more additional fields identified within the second SCI message may be used to convey various information. For example, as will be described in further detail herein, one or more additional fields may be used to indicate a second set of resources reserved for retransmissions of the second sidelink transmission, may be used to indicate that the second SCI message relates to the release of resources reserved by the first SCI message, or both.
[0213] At 550, the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-d, or both can identify that the release of reserved resources provided by the second SCI message is related to at least one retransmission timing reserved by the first SCI message. In this regard, as Figure 3As shown, the first UE 115-c and / or the second UE 115-d can identify that the release provided by the second SCI message transmitted via sidelink resource 315 is related to retransmission sidelink resource 310-a (e.g., a first retransmission timing) and / or retransmission sidelink resource 310-b (e.g., a second retransmission timing). In some cases, the UE 115 receiving the second SCI message providing the release can be configured to identify that the release is related to at least one retransmission timing by decoding the received second SCI message. In additional or alternative cases, the UE 115 receiving the second SCI message providing the release can be configured to identify that the release is related to at least one retransmission timing without decoding the received second SCI message.
[0214] In some respects, UE 115 may identify the release in relation to at least one retransmission timing reserved by the first SCI message based on receiving a control message at 505, transmitting or receiving a first SCI message at 510, transmitting or receiving a first sidelink transmission at 515, transmitting or receiving a feedback message at 520, identifying resources that can be used to transmit or receive a second SCI message at 525, transmitting or receiving a second SCI message at 530, identifying a second SCI message at 535, identifying an FDRA field value at 540, identifying an additional field at 545, or any combination thereof.
[0215] For example, in some cases, the first SCI message may include a first identifier (e.g., transmitter ID, receiver ID) associated with the first UE 115-c and / or the second UE 115-d, and the second SCI message may include a second identifier that associates the second SCI message with the same UE 115 identified by the identifier in the first SCI message. For example, the first SCI message may include a first identifier (e.g., transmitter ID) associated with the first UE 115-c, and the second SCI message may include a second identifier (e.g., a corresponding or matching transmitter ID) associated with the first UE 115-c. In this case, the UE 115 may be configured to identify the release in relation to at least one retransmission timing scheduled via the first SCI message based on the first identifier (e.g., transmitter ID, receiver ID) of the first SCI message and the second identifier (e.g., transmitter ID, receiver ID) of the second SCI message.
[0216] By another example, the first UE 115-c and / or the second UE 115-d can identify the release in relation to at least one retransmission opportunity reserved by the first SCI message based on a first transmission time interval and a second transmission time interval in which the first SCI message and the second SCI message are received or transmitted. For example, UE 115 can determine that the difference between the first transmission time interval (e.g., a first time slot in which the first SCI message is transmitted / received) and the second transmission time interval (e.g., a second time slot in which the second SCI message is transmitted / received) satisfies a threshold difference. In some aspects, the threshold time difference can be based on a configured HARQ feedback time. In this example, the first UE 115-c and / or the second UE 115-d can be configured to identify the release in relation to at least one retransmission opportunity based on the difference (e.g., the difference between the first and second transmission time intervals) satisfying a threshold difference.
[0217] By another example, the first UE 115-c and / or the second UE 115-d may identify the release in relation to at least one retransmission timing reserved by the first SCI message based on determining that the second SCI message is identified within a defined threshold time range and / or threshold frequency range relative to the first SCI, at least one retransmission timing of the release, or both. For example, UE 115 may determine that the first sub-channel of the first SCI message and the second sub-channel of the second SCI message are within each other's threshold ranges. In some aspects, the threshold ranges may be configured via control signaling (e.g., the control message at 505). Additionally or alternatively, the threshold ranges may be determined based on the first PSSCH resources during a first transmission time interval on which the first SCI message is transmitted and the second PSSCH resources during a second transmission time interval on which the second SCI message is transmitted. In this example, the first UE 115-c and / or the second UE 115-d may be configured to identify the release in relation to at least one retransmission timing based on the threshold range being satisfied. In some respects, UE 115 can be configured to determine that the release is related to at least one retransmission opportunity reserved by the first SCI message based on determining that the subchannel of the second transmission time interval and the second SCI message is within a threshold amount of at least one retransmission opportunity associated with the release.
[0218] In some respects, the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-d, or both may identify the release in relation to at least one retransmission timing reserved by the first SCI message based on a second SCI message within a first resource set identified by the first SCI message. For example, in the first SCI message reservation Figure 3In some cases of the retransmission-side link resources 310-a and 310-b described, the second SCI message can be transmitted within retransmission-side link resource 310-a and can provide the release of retransmission-side link resource 310-b. In this case, the first UE 115-c and / or UE 115-d can identify the second SCI message providing the release of retransmission-side link resource 310-b (e.g., retransmission timing) based on the second SCI message identifying the retransmission-side link resource 310-a (e.g., retransmission timing).
[0219] In some aspects, the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-d, or both may identify the release in relation to at least one retransmission opportunity reserved by the first SCI message based on a configured resource range (e.g., a resource range configured via a control message received at 505). The configured resource range may be defined relative to the first SCI message, the at least one retransmission opportunity released, or both. For example, UE 115 may identify a second transmission time interval (e.g., a second timeslot) of the second SCI message and / or a subchannel of the second SCI message within a configured resource range associated with the first SCI message (e.g., a configured range of the first transmission time interval, a configured range of the subchannels of the first SCI message). In this case, UE 115 may identify the release in relation to at least one retransmission opportunity based on the satisfaction of (the) configured ranges. For example, the control message may indicate that the second SCI message can be received in two or three timeslots after the first transmission time interval. In this case, UE 115 can identify the second SCI message associated with the release based on the second SCI message that identifies two or three time slots after the first transmission time interval (e.g., based on the identifier that the configured range is satisfied).
[0220] Similarly, UE 115 can identify the release as relating to at least one retransmission timing reserved by the first SCI message based on the transmission time interval and / or sub-channel of at least one retransmission timing. For example, a configured range can be defined relative to the transmission time interval and / or sub-channel of the at least one released retransmission timing. In this case, UE 115 can be configured to identify the release as relating to at least one retransmission timing based on the (or) configured range being satisfied. For example, a control message can instruct that a second SCI message can be received two time slots before the transmission time interval associated with at least one retransmission timing and three sub-channels lower than the sub-channel associated with at least one retransmission timing. In this case, UE 115 can identify the second SCI message as relating to the release based on a second SCI message that is two time slots before the transmission time interval associated with at least one released retransmission timing and three sub-channels lower than the sub-channel associated with at least one released retransmission timing (e.g., based on the identifier that the configured range is satisfied). In this regard, the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-d, or both can be configured to identify the release associated with the second SCI message based on the relationship between the second SCI message and the first SCI message and / or the released resources, the relationship being indicated via a control message received at 505.
[0221] In some respects, the first UE 115-c, the second UE 115-d, or both may identify that the release is related to at least one retransmission event reserved by the first SCI message based on indications or fields in the first SCI message, the second SCI message, or both. For example, UE 115 may determine one or more TDRA field values, FDRA field values, cyclic redundancy check (CRC) portions of the first SCI message, or any combination thereof, and may be configured to determine that the release is related to at least one retransmission event based on the determined indications or fields within the first SCI message. By another example, UE 115 may be configured to identify that the release is related to at least one retransmission event based on one or more FDRA field values of the second SCI message determined at 540, one or more additional field values of the second SCI message determined at 545 (e.g., TDRA field values, DMRS field, DMRS port field, sidelink priority field, PSFCH overhead field), or any combination thereof.
[0222] Additionally or alternatively, UE 115 may identify that the release relates to at least one retransmission event reserved by the first SCI message based on a portion of a second SCI message that includes a checksum or hash function of a portion of the first SCI message. For example, UE 115 may determine that the second SCI message includes second data, which includes a checksum or hash function of at least a portion of the first data included in the first SCI message, and may identify that the release relates to at least one retransmission event based on the checksum or hash function that identifies the second data as including the first data. In this case, the first data included in the first SCI message may include the CRC portion of the first SCI message, the FDRA field value set of the first SCI message, the TDRA field value set of the first SCI message, or any combination thereof. Furthermore, the second data included in the second SCI message may include the CRC portion of the second SCI message, the TDRA field value set of the second SCI message, the DMRS bit value set of the second SCI message, or any combination thereof.
[0223] In some aspects, UE 115 can be configured to calculate and / or recalculate the channel occupancy rate of the sidelink communication network (e.g., a sidelink channel) based on identifying the release. For example, UE 115 can be configured to determine a first channel occupancy rate of the sidelink communication network before transmitting / receiving the second SCI (e.g., before identifying the second SCI message), and can determine a second channel occupancy rate of the sidelink communication network based on providing the release based on the second SCI message (e.g., based on identifying the release).
[0224] At 555, based on the release of the first resource subset, the first UE 115-c can use only the second subset of the first resource set reserved for retransmission to transmit the retransmission of the first sidelink transmission transmitted at 515. Furthermore, the second UE 115-d can monitor retransmission opportunities in one or more retransmission opportunities based on the identified release. For example, refer to... Figure 3 The first SCI message may include a set of resources reserved for retransmissions of the first sidelink transmission (e.g., retransmission sidelink resources 310-a and 310-b). In this example, the second SCI message transmitted via sidelink resource 315 may indicate the release of retransmission sidelink resource 310-a (e.g., releasing a first subset of the reserved resources). In this respect, the first UE 115-c may use retransmission sidelink resource 310-b (e.g., using a second subset of the reserved resources) to transmit retransmissions of the first sidelink transmission.
[0225] In some respects, the second SCI message can release or cancel the entire first resource set retained by the first SCI message. For example, the second SCI message can release both retransmission sidelink resources 310-a and 310-b. In this case, the second subset of the first resource set may not include resources, such that the first UE 115-c suppresses any retransmissions performing the first sidelink transmission.
[0226] At 560, the second UE 115-d, the third UE 115 (not shown), or both may use at least a portion of the first subset of resources released via the second SCI message to transmit sidelink transmissions. In this regard, UE 115 may use the resources released by the second SCI message at 560 to transmit and / or receive sidelink transmissions based on the indication at 550 that the release relates to at least one retransmission event. For example, if the second SCI message releases retransmission sidelink resource 310-a, the second UE 115-d may use retransmission sidelink resource 310-b to transmit sidelink transmissions to the first UE 115-c and / or another UE 115.
[0227] In some cases, based on predefined parameters, including the time for transmitting / receiving the second SCI, the time resources used for the released resources, communication parameters at UE 115, or any combination thereof, the reuse of released sidelink resources can be prohibited. For example, if UE 115 switches from transmitting to receiving in a given number of time slots for half-duplex communication, the immediate reuse of resources released via the second SCI message can be prohibited.
[0228] At 565, the first UE 115-c can transmit a retransmission of the second sidelink transmission based on a second resource set retained by one or more FDRA fields within the second SCI message. In this regard, the first UE 115-c can transmit the retransmission of the second sidelink transmission at 565 based on one or more FDRA field values identifying the second SCI message at 535, at 540, or both. For example, refer to... Figure 3 The second SCI message transmitted via sidelink resource 315 may include one or more FDRA field values indicating a retransmission sidelink resource 310-c reserved for retransmission of the second sidelink transmission. In this example, the first UE 115-c may use the retransmission sidelink resource 310-c reserved via the FDRA field value of the second SCI message to perform a retransmission of the second sidelink transmission. In some aspects, the retransmission of the second sidelink transmission performed at 565 may include a retransmission of the second SCI message, a transmission and / or retransmission of data transmitted via PSSCH, or any combination thereof.

The communication manager 805 may be an example of aspects of the communication manager 615, communication manager 715, or communication manager 910 described herein. The communication manager 805 may include an SCI manager 810, a sidelink transmission manager 815, an FDRA manager 820, a sidelink resource release manager 825, a checksum manager 830, a feedback message receiving manager 835, a control message receiving manager 840, a sidelink receiving manager 845, a candidate resource manager 850, a channel occupancy manager 855, an SCI format manager 860, a sidelink monitoring manager 865, and a feedback message transmission manager 870. [0249] SCI manager 810 may transmit a first sidelink control information message associated with a sidelink transmission from a first UE during a first transmission time interval, wherein the first sidelink control information message includes a first indication of a set of resources reserved for retransmission of the sidelink transmission at one or more retransmission times. In some examples, a first sidelink control information message associated with a sidelink transmission from the first UE to a second UE is received from the first UE during the first transmission time interval, wherein the first sidelink control information message includes a first indication of a set of resources reserved for retransmission of the sidelink transmission at one or more retransmission times.
[0250] In some examples, the SCI manager 810 can identify a second sidelink control information message associated with the first sidelink control information message during a second transmission time interval following the first transmission time interval. The second sidelink control information message includes one or more FDRA field values indicating the release of at least a first subset of the resource set reserved for retransmission of the sidelink transmission, the release relating to at least one of one or more retransmission timings. In some examples, identifying the second sidelink control information message includes receiving the second sidelink control information message from a second UE. In some examples, the SCI manager 810 may identify a hybrid automatic repeat request configuration associated with sidelink communication, wherein identifying the time period following the transmission of the first sidelink control information message is based on a determined hybrid automatic repeat request configuration.
[0252] In some examples, the SCI manager 810 may identify the transmission time interval range, the sub-channel range, or both for transmitting the second sidelink control information message based on the transmission of the first sidelink control information message, wherein identifying the second sidelink control information message is based on identifying the transmission time interval range, the sub-channel range, or both. In some examples, the SCI manager 810 may receive a control message indicating the relationship between the first sidelink control information message and the transmission time interval range, the sub-channel range, or both. In some examples, a first identifier is received via the first sidelink control information message, the first identifier associating the first sidelink control information message with a first UE, a second UE, or both, wherein the second sidelink control information message includes a second identifier, the second identifier associating the second sidelink control information message with the same UE identified by the first identifier.
[0253] In some examples, the SCI manager 810 may identify a time period preceding a first retransmission opportunity in one or more retransmission opportunities, during which at least the first retransmission opportunity will not be released, wherein the second sidelink control information message is identified before the start of the identified time period. In some examples, the SCI manager 810 may identify a time period following the transmission of the first sidelink control information message, during which one or more retransmission opportunities will not be released, wherein the second sidelink control information message is identified after the end of the identified time period.
[0254] In some examples, the SCI manager 810 can identify a hybrid automatic repeat request configuration associated with sidelink communication, wherein identifying the time period following the transmission of the first sidelink control information message is based on the determined hybrid automatic repeat request configuration. In some examples, the SCI manager 810 can identify a transmission time interval range, a sub-channel range, or both for transmitting a second sidelink control information message based on the receipt of the first sidelink control information message, wherein identifying the second sidelink control information message is based on identifying the transmission time interval range, the sub-channel range, or both. In some examples, the SCI manager 810 can receive control messages indicating the relationship between the first sidelink control information message and the transmission time interval range, the sub-channel range, or both.
[0255] In some examples, SCI manager 810 may identify a resource indication value of a first sidelink control information message associated with a sidelink transmission from a first UE, wherein the resource indication value indicates a configuration and corresponds to a set of values unrelated to resource reservation. In some examples, SCI manager 810 may transmit a first sidelink control information message including the resource indication value.
[0256] In some examples, the SCI manager 810 may receive a first sidelink control information message associated with a first sidelink transmission from the first UE. This sidelink control information message includes resource indication values corresponding to a set of values independent of resource reservation. In some examples, the SCI manager 810 may identify configurations from the first sidelink control information message based on the resource indication values.
[0257] In some examples, the resource indicator value indicates the rate matching configuration for second sidelink transmissions. In some examples, the resource indicator value indicates the configuration of one or more fields for second sidelink transmissions from the first UE. In some examples, the resource indicator value indicates the transmit power associated with a reserved resource set. In some examples, the resource indicator value configures the second UE to relay sidelink control information messages, sidelink transmissions, or both to one or more neighboring devices.
[0258] The sidelink transmission manager 815 may, based on the release of a first subset of the resource set, transmit retransmissions of sidelink transmissions only on a second subset of the resource set. In some examples, transmitting fewer retransmissions of sidelink transmissions than signaled by a first indication includes suppressing any retransmissions of the sidelink transmission. In some examples, identifying a second sidelink control information message includes transmitting the second sidelink control information message to the first UE. In some examples, the sidelink transmission manager 815 may transmit second sidelink transmissions to a first UE, a third UE, or both on a resource set associated with at least one retransmission event released via the second sidelink control information message, wherein the second sidelink transmission is transmitted based on identifying the second sidelink control information message.
[0259] The sidelink monitoring manager 865 can monitor only a second subset of the resource set based on the release of a first subset of the resource set. In some examples, monitoring fewer retransmission opportunities among one or more retransmission opportunities associated with a sidelink transmission than those signaled by the first indication includes suppressing any retransmission opportunity monitored among one or more retransmission opportunities.
