Abstract
Description
[0001] This application claims priority to Chinese patent application filed on January 10, 2022, with application number 202210023616.5 and entitled "A method for avoiding data timeout, UE and network device", the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference. Technical Field
[0002] This application relates to the field of communication technology, and in particular to uplink data transmission methods, network equipment, terminal equipment and communication systems. Background Technology
[0003] In Extended Reality (XR) services, video frames are divided into I-frames and P-frames. An I-frame is a full-frame compressed coded frame containing all the image information. A P-frame is a forward predictive coded frame, representing the difference between the current frame and the previous frame; decoding a P-frame requires reference to the information in the previous frame. During video transmission, the encoder encodes multiple images that make up the video, producing groups of pictures (GOPs). A GOP is a group of consecutive pictures, consisting of one I-frame and several P-frames. When a terminal device is running XR services, if it needs to transmit video, it must transmit one frame of data to the network device within the configured packet delay budget (PDB). This allows the network device to promptly transmit the received frame data to the cloud for correct decoding. If the terminal device does not transmit the entire frame within the PDB, it discards the remaining data for that frame. Summary of the Invention
[0004] In a communication system, different uplink data to be transmitted on the terminal device side can correspond to different logical channels (LCHs). When a terminal device sends uplink data on an LCH, it needs to first allocate uplink resources for the uplink data on the LCH, and then send the uplink data on the LCH using the allocated uplink resources. Specifically, the terminal device needs to notify the network device through a buffer status report (BSR) how much data is in the terminal device's uplink buffer to be sent, so that the network device knows how much uplink resources to allocate to the terminal device. When the network device receives the BSR sent by the terminal device, it will send an uplink grant (UL grant) to the terminal device based on the BSR, indicating information such as the location of the uplink resources allocated to the terminal device. After receiving the UL grant, the terminal device can allocate uplink resources for the uplink data on the LCH to be sent according to the uplink resources allocated by the network device, and then send the uplink data on the LCH to be sent to the network device.
[0005] However, according to the BSR triggering mechanism, when a terminal device is running XR services, if there are I-frame and / or P-frame data on the LCH that need to be transmitted to the network device, it may cause a certain frame's data to fail to be transmitted completely within the configured PDB, or even fail to be transmitted at all. This results in the network device being unable to transmit complete frame data to the cloud in a timely manner, and the cloud being unable to correctly decode the frame data, severely impacting the user experience. Therefore, ensuring that the terminal device can transmit frame data completely is an urgent problem to be solved.
[0006] This application provides an uplink data transmission method, network device, terminal device, and communication system to solve the problem that terminal devices cannot completely transmit frame data. To address the aforementioned technical problem, the embodiments of this application adopt the following technical solutions:
[0007] Firstly, an uplink data transmission method is provided. The communication device (subject) executing this method can be a network device or a module applied within the network device, such as a chip. The following description uses a network device as the executing subject. The method includes: the network device receiving first information from a terminal device, the first information indicating the amount of first uplink data to be transmitted by the terminal device. The network device determining a first uplink resource based on the first information. The network device receiving second information from the terminal device, the second information indicating a first duration corresponding to the first uplink data. If the network device determines, based on the amount of the first uplink data and the first duration, that the terminal device can send the first uplink data to the network device within the first duration, and determines that there is second uplink data to be transmitted by the terminal device before receiving the first indication information, the network device sends the first indication information and the second indication information to the terminal device. The first indication information indicates information about the first uplink resource. The second indication information indicates at least one of the following: the terminal device preferentially transmits the first uplink data on the first uplink resource; or, the terminal device increases the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data.
[0008] Based on the technical solution of this application embodiment, after receiving the first information indicating the amount of first uplink data sent by the terminal device, and the first duration corresponding to the first uplink data, if the network device determines that the terminal device has new second uplink data to be transmitted during the period of receiving the allocated first uplink resources, in order to avoid the terminal device using too much of the allocated first uplink resources to transmit the second uplink data, resulting in insufficient first uplink resources to transmit the first uplink data, the network device can instruct the terminal device to prioritize the transmission of the first uplink data on the first uplink resources through the second indication information, and / or increase the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data, thereby ensuring that the terminal device can completely transmit the first uplink data on the first uplink resources, avoiding the situation where the first uplink data transmission times out, resulting in the inability to correctly decode the data and affecting the user experience.
[0009] In conjunction with the first aspect described above, in one possible design, before the network device sends the first indication information and the second indication information to the terminal device, the first priority is lower than the second priority. The first priority is the priority of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data, and the second priority is the priority of the second logical channel corresponding to the second uplink data. The technical solution of this application embodiment can be applied to scenarios where the first priority is lower than the second priority, thereby solving the problem that if the first priority is lower than the second priority, the incomplete transmission of the first uplink data may not be completed within the configured PDB.
[0010] In conjunction with the first aspect described above, in one possible design, the first logical channel is the logical channel corresponding to the forward predictive coded frame; the second logical channel is the logical channel corresponding to the full-frame compressed coded frame. Before the network device sends the first indication information and the second indication information to the terminal device, the method further includes: the network device determining that the first uplink data is a forward predictive coded frame and the second uplink data is a full-frame compressed coded frame. The technical solution of this application embodiment can be applied to scenarios where the priority of the logical channel corresponding to the forward predictive coded frame is lower than the priority of the logical channel corresponding to the full-frame compressed coded frame, thereby solving the problem in XR services where incomplete full-frame compressed coded frame data may not be transmitted within the configured PDB.
[0011] In conjunction with the first aspect described above, in one possible design, the second indication information used to instruct the terminal device to prioritize the transmission of first uplink data on the first uplink resource includes: the second indication information instructing the terminal device to adjust the first priority to a third priority, wherein the third priority is higher than the second priority. Based on the technical solution of this application embodiment, the terminal device can adjust the original priority of the logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data according to the second indication information, so that the adjusted priority of the logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data is higher than the priority of the logical channel corresponding to the second uplink data. Because the terminal device will prioritize the transmission of uplink data on the logical channel with extremely high priority, the terminal device will prioritize the transmission of first uplink data on the first uplink resource.
[0012] In conjunction with the first aspect described above, in one possible design, when the second indication information is used to instruct the terminal device to increase the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data, the second indication information is also used to instruct the terminal device to decrease the priority bit rate of the second logical channel corresponding to the second uplink data. Based on the technical solution of the embodiments of this application, the priority bit rate of the first logical channel can be increased and the priority bit rate of the second logical channel can be decreased, thereby enabling more of the first uplink resources to be allocated to the first uplink data and less to the second uplink data.
[0013] In conjunction with the first aspect described above, in one possible design, the second indication information used to instruct the terminal device to prioritize the transmission of first uplink data on the first uplink resource includes: the second indication information indicating that the first uplink resource can only be used to transmit uplink data corresponding to the first logical channel. Wherein, the first uplink data corresponds to the first logical channel, and the second uplink data corresponds to the second logical channel. Based on the technical solution of this application embodiment, the terminal device can, according to the second indication information, allocate only the first uplink resource to the first uplink data on the first logical channel, and will not allocate the first uplink resource to the second uplink data on the second logical channel, thereby achieving priority transmission of the first uplink data on the first uplink resource.
[0014] In conjunction with the first aspect described above, in one possible design, the network device determines that there is second uplink data to be transmitted before the terminal device receives the first indication information. This includes: the network device acquiring periodic information of the uplink data sent by the terminal device to the network device; and the network device determining, based on the periodic information, that there is second uplink data to be transmitted before the terminal device receives the first indication information. The technical solution of this application embodiment exemplarily provides a method for a network device to determine that there is second uplink data to be transmitted before the terminal device receives the first indication information.
[0015] In conjunction with the first aspect described above, in one possible design, the network device determining that second uplink data to be transmitted exists before the terminal device receives the first indication information includes: the network device receiving third information from the terminal device, the third information indicating that the terminal device will transmit second uplink data after transmitting the first uplink data. The network device determines, based on the third information, that second uplink data to be transmitted exists before the terminal device receives the first indication information. The technical solution of this application embodiment exemplarily provides a method for a network device to determine that second uplink data to be transmitted exists before the terminal device receives the first indication information.
[0016] In conjunction with the first aspect described above, in one possible design, the first indication information and the second indication information are carried in the uplink authorization message. The technical solution of this application embodiment provides a method for sending the first indication information and the second indication information.
[0017] Secondly, an uplink data transmission method is provided. The communication device (subject) executing this method can be a network device or a module applied within the network device, such as a chip. The following description uses a network device as the executing subject. The method includes: the network device receiving fourth information from a terminal device, the fourth information indicating a first cycle; the network device determining first configuration information based on the first cycle and sending the first configuration information to the terminal device; wherein the first configuration information is used by the terminal device to configure a second cycle; the second cycle is the cycle in which the terminal device sends fifth information to the network device. The second cycle is less than or equal to the cycle in which the terminal device sends each frame of uplink data to the network device. The fifth information indicates the amount of uplink data to be transmitted by the terminal device.
[0018] Based on the technical solution of this application embodiment, the network device can configure a second cycle for the terminal device according to the first cycle sent by the terminal device, thereby enabling the terminal device to send the fifth information to the network device according to the second cycle. Even if some uplink data to be transmitted cannot trigger the regular BSR according to the regular BSR triggering mechanism, the terminal device can still apply for uplink resources for these uplink data to be transmitted through the periodically sent fifth information.
[0019] In conjunction with the second aspect described above, in one possible design, the fourth information is carried within the auxiliary information of the terminal device. The technical solution of this application provides a method for sending the fourth information.
[0020] Thirdly, an uplink data transmission method is provided. The communication device (subject) executing this method can be a terminal device or a module applied in the terminal device, such as a chip. The following description uses a terminal device as the executing subject. The method includes: the terminal device sending first information and second information to a network device. The first information indicates the amount of first uplink data to be transmitted by the terminal device; the second information indicates a first duration corresponding to the first uplink data. If the terminal device can transmit the first uplink data to the network device within the first duration, and there is second uplink data to be transmitted before the terminal device receives the first indication information, the terminal device receives the first indication information and the second indication information from the network device. The first indication information indicates information about a first uplink resource. The second indication information indicates at least one of the following: the terminal device preferentially transmits the first uplink data on the first uplink resource; or, the terminal device increases the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data.
[0021] Based on the technical solution of this application embodiment, after receiving the first information indicating the amount of first uplink data sent by the terminal device, and the first duration corresponding to the first uplink data, if the terminal device has new second uplink data to be transmitted during the period of receiving the allocated first uplink resources, in order to avoid the terminal device using too much of the allocated first uplink resources to transmit the second uplink data, resulting in insufficient first uplink resources to transmit the first uplink data, the network device can instruct the terminal device to prioritize the transmission of the first uplink data on the first uplink resources through the second indication information, and / or increase the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data, thereby ensuring that the terminal device can completely transmit the first uplink data on the first uplink resources, avoiding the situation where the first uplink data transmission times out, resulting in the inability to correctly decode the data and affecting the user experience.
[0022] In conjunction with the third aspect described above, in one possible design, before the terminal device receives the first indication information and the second indication information from the network device, the first priority is lower than the second priority; the first priority is the priority of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data, and the second priority is the priority of the second logical channel corresponding to the second uplink data. The technical solution of this application embodiment can be applied to scenarios where the first priority is lower than the second priority, thereby solving the problem that if the first priority is lower than the second priority, the incomplete transmission of the first uplink data may not be completed within the configured PDB.
[0023] In conjunction with the third aspect mentioned above, in one possible design, the first logical channel is the logical channel corresponding to the forward predictive coded frame; the second logical channel is the logical channel corresponding to the full-frame compressed coded frame. The first uplink data is the forward predictive coded frame, and the second uplink data is the full-frame compressed coded frame.
[0024] In conjunction with the third aspect above, in one possible design, the second indication information used to instruct the terminal device to prioritize sending the first uplink data on the first uplink resource includes: the second indication information used to instruct the terminal device to adjust the first priority to the third priority, wherein the third priority is higher than the second priority.
[0025] Based on the technical solution of this application embodiment, the terminal device can adjust the original priority of the logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data according to the second instruction information, so that the priority of the logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data after adjustment is higher than the priority of the logical channel corresponding to the second uplink data. Because the terminal device will prioritize transmitting uplink data on the logical channel with extremely high priority, the terminal device will prioritize sending the first uplink data on the first uplink resource.
[0026] In conjunction with the third aspect described above, in one possible design, when the second indication information is used to instruct the terminal device to increase the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data, the second indication information is also used to instruct the terminal device to decrease the priority bit rate of the second logical channel corresponding to the second uplink data. Based on the technical solution of this application embodiment, the priority bit rate of the first logical channel can be increased, and the priority bit rate of the second logical channel can be decreased, thereby enabling more of the first uplink resources to be allocated to the first uplink data and less to the second uplink data.
[0027] In conjunction with the third aspect described above, in one possible design, the second indication information used to instruct the terminal device to prioritize the transmission of first uplink data on the first uplink resource includes: the second indication information indicating that the first uplink resource can only be used to transmit uplink data corresponding to the first logical channel.
[0028] In conjunction with the third aspect described above, in one possible design, before the terminal device receives the first and second indication information from the network device, the method further includes: the terminal device sending uplink data periodicity information to the network device; the periodicity information is used by the network device to determine that there is second uplink data to be transmitted before the terminal device receives the first indication information. The technical solution of this application embodiment exemplarily provides a method for a network device to determine that there is second uplink data to be transmitted before the terminal device receives the first indication information.
[0029] In conjunction with the third aspect described above, in one possible design, before the terminal device receives the first and second indication information from the network device, the method further includes: the terminal device sending third information to the network device, the third information indicating that the terminal device will transmit second uplink data after transmitting the first uplink data. The technical solution of this application embodiment exemplarily provides a method for a network device to determine that there is second uplink data to be transmitted before the terminal device receives the first indication information.
[0030] In conjunction with the third aspect described above, in one possible design, the first indication information and the second indication information are carried in the uplink authorization message. The technical solution of this application embodiment provides a method for sending the first indication information and the second indication information.

The first period is used by the network device to determine a second period. The terminal device receives first configuration information from the network device. The first configuration information is used by the terminal device to configure the second period. The second period is the period during which the terminal device sends fifth information to the network device, and the second period is less than or equal to the period during which the terminal device sends each frame of uplink data to the network device. The fifth information indicates the amount of uplink data to be transmitted by the terminal device.
[0032] Based on the technical solution of this application embodiment, the network device can configure a second cycle for the terminal device according to the first cycle sent by the terminal device, thereby enabling the terminal device to send the fifth information to the network device according to the second cycle. Even if some uplink data to be transmitted cannot trigger the regular BSR according to the above-mentioned regular BSR triggering mechanism, the terminal device can still apply for uplink resources for these uplink data to be transmitted through the periodically sent fifth information.

[0099] To facilitate understanding of the technical solutions of the embodiments of this application, a brief introduction to the relevant technical terms involved in this application is given below.
[0100] 1. Methods for terminal devices to request uplink resources:
[0101] In a communication system, when a terminal device needs to send uplink data to the network side (network device), the terminal device needs to use uplink resources to send the uplink data. If the terminal device does not have uplink resources, it needs to request uplink resources from the network device. Typically, a terminal device can request uplink resources from the network device in the following three ways:
[0102] (1) Sending a BSR to the network device. The terminal device can insert a BSR control unit in the protocol data unit (PDU) of the media access control (MAC) layer to notify the network device how much data needs to be transmitted in one or more logical channel groups (LCGs) of the terminal device, and request the network device to allocate some uplink resources to the terminal device. An LCG includes multiple LCHs. The LCHs are used for data transmission services at the MAC layer. The MAC layer can map the LCHs to the transport channels to transmit the data to be transmitted on the LCHs.
[0103] When a network device receives a BSR from a terminal device, it sends a UL grant to the terminal device, which indicates the uplink resources that the network device will allocate to the terminal device. This includes information about the uplink resources, such as their location and modulation and coding scheme (MCS).
[0104] This method of requesting uplink resources by sending a BSR allows network devices to know the amount of data the terminal device needs to send, thus enabling them to allocate uplink resources accordingly. However, there's a problem: because the BSR is encapsulated in a MACPDU and sent to the network device via the Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH), the act of the terminal device sending the BSR itself also requires uplink resources. If the terminal device has no uplink resources, it cannot send a BSR. In this case, the terminal device needs to request uplink resources from the network device using the following method.
[0105] (2) Sending a scheduling request (SR) to the network device. When the terminal device cannot send a BSR to request uplink resources, it can request uplink resources by sending an SR. The SR can be transmitted in the physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) and can be sent to the network device without requiring uplink resources. However, the SR only tells the network device that there is uplink data to send, but does not tell the network device how much uplink data the terminal device needs to send. The network device does not know how much uplink resources to allocate, so the terminal device may still need to send a BSR to request more (or additional) uplink resources. After receiving the SR from the terminal device, the amount of uplink resources allocated by the network device is determined by the algorithm of the network device manufacturer. Generally speaking, after receiving the SR, the network device will allocate uplink resources that are at least sufficient to satisfy the sending of the BSR.
[0106] However, not all terminal devices can send SRs. If a terminal device is unable to send either a BSR or an SR, it will need to initiate a contention-based random access procedure.
[0107] (3) Initiating contention-based random access. In this method, the terminal device will insert a BSR control unit in the third message (message 3, MSG3) of the random access process to request uplink resources from the network device. The specific process of contention-based random access can be found in existing standards and will not be elaborated here.
[0108] Of the three methods described above, the solution in this application mainly involves the method of the terminal device sending a BSR to the network device to request uplink resources.
[0109] 2. Allocating uplink resources to terminal devices:
[0110] After the network device allocates uplink resources to the terminal device, the terminal device allocates uplink resources to the uplink data to be transmitted on the LCH according to the LCH priority. Different LCHs have different priorities, and data on LCHs with higher priorities will be sent first through uplink resources. The LCH priority is configured by the network device through radio resource control (RRC) signaling.
[0111] It's important to note that in the method of a terminal device sending a BSR to a network device, the terminal device sends the BSR based on an LCG (Local Group Class). However, there is no direct correspondence between the LCG on which the terminal device reports the BSR and the uplink resources allocated by the network device. After the terminal device sends a BSR based on one or more LCGs, the uplink resources allocated to the terminal device by the network device according to the BSR are not necessarily allocated by the terminal device to uplink data on the LCH (Local Channel Chronicle) within those LCGs. Instead, allocation is based on the priority of the LCH. In other words, whether uplink data on a particular LCH can be allocated uplink resources by the terminal device is not related to whether the terminal device sent the BSR based on the LCG to which that LCH belongs.
[0112] However, if terminal devices allocate uplink resources to data on LCHs solely based on their priority, data on lower-priority LCHs may be delayed. To address this issue, the standard introduces the concept of Prioritized Bit Rate (PBR) to prevent high-priority LCHs from consistently occupying the radio resources allocated to terminal devices by the network. The data corresponding to the PBR can be understood as the data that is prioritized for transmission within a unit of time on a given LCH. When allocating uplink resources for data on each LCH, the terminal device prioritizes allocating uplink resources to the data corresponding to the respective PBR of each LCH, and then allocates uplink resources to the remaining data on each LCH other than the data corresponding to their respective PBRs, thus providing a minimum data transmission rate guarantee for each LCH. The PBR of an LCH is configured by the network device through RRC signaling.
[0113] The specific process by which terminal devices allocate uplink resources based on the PBR of the LCH can be combined with, for example... Figure 1 The example shown will be further explained. For example... Figure 1 As shown, the terminal device has a total of 3 LCHs: LCH1, LCH2, and LCH3, corresponding to PBR1, PBR2, and PBR3 respectively. The priority order of these three LCHs is LCH1 > LCH2 > LCH3. When there is uplink data to be transmitted on all 3 LCHs, the terminal device will first allocate uplink resources to the data corresponding to PBR1 in LCH1 (data 1), then allocate uplink resources to the data corresponding to PBR2 in LCH2 (data 2), and then allocate uplink resources to the data corresponding to PBR3 in LCH3 (data 3). After allocating uplink resources to the data corresponding to PBR3 in LCH3, if there are still remaining uplink resources, the remaining uplink resources will be allocated to the data other than the data corresponding to PBR1 in the highest priority LCH1 (data 4). Additionally, although... Figure 1 It is not shown that if there are still remaining uplink resources, the terminal device will allocate the remaining uplink resources to LCH2, which has the second highest priority, excluding the data corresponding to PBR2.
[0114] 3. XR services:
[0115] In XR services, video frames are divided into I-frames and P-frames. An I-frame is a full-frame compressed coded frame containing all the image information. A P-frame is a forward predictive coded frame, representing the difference between the current frame and the previous frame; decoding a P-frame requires referencing relevant information from the previous frame. For example... Figure 2 As shown, the encoder encodes multiple images that make up the video to produce segments called GOPs. Each GOP consists of an I-frame and several P-frames.
[0116] XR services are periodic, and the frame data for XR services is generated periodically. For example, the period of an XR service is 60fps, which means that 60 frames of video are generated per second, and the average frame generation period is 16.67 milliseconds (ms).
[0117] Typically, when a terminal device is running XR services, if it needs to transmit frame data, it must complete the transmission of a frame to the network device within the configured PDB (time difference between the generation of the uplink data frame and its successful delivery to the receiver). This allows the network device to promptly forward the received data frame to the cloud for correct decoding. If the terminal device fails to transmit the entire frame within the PDB, it will discard the remaining data, preventing the cloud from receiving the complete frame. Generally, the PDB is 30 milliseconds (ms). Optional values include 10ms, 15ms, or 60ms.
[0118] 4. Technical Solution 1:
[0119] As mentioned above, XR services are divided into I-frames and P-frames. However, since an I-frame contains the information of the entire frame, while a P-frame requires information from the previous frame for decoding, I-frames can be considered more important than P-frames. Therefore, one approach is to transmit I-frames and P-frames through different Quality of Service (QoS) flows when the network load is heavy. Different QoS flows correspond to different priority LCHs (Local Channels). The LCH corresponding to the QoS flow used to transmit I-frames has a higher priority than the LCH corresponding to the QoS flow used to transmit P-frames. This prioritizes the transmission of the more important I-frames, ensuring a better user experience and increasing network capacity.
[0120] However, this approach may lead to the following problem: When a terminal device transmits P-frame data, if there are incomplete P-frame data due to insufficient configured uplink resources, the terminal device will send a BSR to the network device to request additional uplink resources. However, before the terminal device receives the corresponding UL grant, if I-frame data arrives (referring to newly generated I-frame data by the terminal device), because the LCH corresponding to the I-frame data has a higher priority than the LCH corresponding to the P-frame data, the terminal device, after receiving the UL grant, will prioritize allocating the uplink resources indicated by the UL grant to the newly arrived I-frame data. This may result in the incomplete P-frame data not being able to be transmitted within the configured PDB. The following, with reference to the attached diagram, illustrates the relevant problems that this approach may cause.
[0121] For example, Figure 3 This is a diagram illustrating related issues presented through a timeline. For example... Figure 3As shown, a terminal device has an uplink P-frame that needs to be transmitted to a network device. However, because the uplink resources previously allocated by the network device are insufficient to transmit the entire P-frame, the terminal device sends a portion of the P-frame data and a BSR (Background Status Request) to the network device. Upon receiving this portion of the P-frame data and the BSR, the network device sends a UL grant to the terminal device. Before the network device sends the UL grant, a new I-frame is also generated on the terminal device's side. When the terminal device receives the UL grant, because the LCH (Local Ching) corresponding to the I-frame data has a higher priority than the LCH corresponding to the P-frame data, it will prioritize allocating the uplink resources indicated by the UL grant to the newly generated I-frame data, and then allocate them to the remaining P-frame data. If the uplink resources indicated by the UL grant are still insufficient to transmit the remaining P-frame data, it may cause the transmission time of the remaining P-frame data to exceed the configured PDB (Program Data Base) requirement, i.e., a timeout.
[0122] For example, Figure 4 This is a diagram illustrating related issues encountered through MAC layer reuse. (Example) Figure 4 As shown, the terminal device has two LCHs: LCH1 and LCH2, corresponding to PBR1 and PBR2 respectively. LCH1 and LCH2 are used to transmit I-frame data and P-frame data respectively, with LCH1 having a higher priority than LCH2. After the network device allocates the corresponding uplink resources to the terminal device using UL grant, since LCH1 has a higher priority than LCH2, the terminal device will prioritize allocating uplink resources to the data on LCH1. That is, newly arrived I-frame data is first allocated to the data corresponding to PBR1 in LCH1 (data 1), then resources are allocated to the data corresponding to PBR2 in LCH2 (data 2). If there are any remaining uplink resources, they are allocated to the remaining I-frame data in LCH1 excluding the data corresponding to PBR1 (data 3), thus causing the remaining P-frame data in LCH2 excluding the data corresponding to PBR2 (data 4) to be unable to be transmitted within the PDB. Once the PDB limit is exceeded, the terminal device will discard the remaining P-frame data that has not yet been transmitted. This will cause the cloud to be unable to receive complete picture frames and thus be unable to decode them correctly. It will also waste some P-frame data that the terminal device has successfully transmitted. Therefore, the terminal device wastes power and the network wastes resources.
[0123] 5. Technical Solution Two:
[0124] As mentioned above, terminal devices can request uplink resources by sending a BSR. In the standard, the triggering mechanism for a regular BSR is as follows:
[0125] 1. No data in the uplink buffer of the terminal device and new data arrives: When there is no uplink data to be sent in any LCH of all LCGs, if new data is generated in any LCH of any LCG, the terminal device will trigger a regular BSR and send a BSR to the network device.
[0126] 2. When high-priority data arrives: If the terminal device has already issued a BSR and is waiting for ULgrant, during the waiting period, if there is a higher priority LCH with uplink data to send compared to the LCG on which the previously issued BSR is based, the terminal device will trigger a regular BSR and send a BSR to the network device.
[0127] However, the above two triggering mechanisms may lead to the following problem: If the terminal device reports P-frame data and BSR, and while waiting for UL grant, the next P-frame data has already been generated, according to the regular BSR triggering mechanism described above, the terminal device cannot trigger a regular BSR for this new P-frame data. For example, as... Figure 5 As shown, if the terminal device's current uplink resources are insufficient to transmit all data packets of the first P-frame, it sends data packets 1-3 and a BSR to the network device. The BSR requests additional uplink resources for transmitting data packet 4. While waiting for the UL grant, the terminal device generates a second P-frame. After receiving the UL grant, the terminal device can transmit data packet 4 of the first P-frame using the uplink resources indicated by the UL grant. However, if the second P-frame corresponds to the same LCH as the first P-frame, or if the priority of the LCH corresponding to the second P-frame is not higher than the priority of the LCH corresponding to the first P-frame, the data packets already generated by the second P-frame before this can be transmitted. Figure 5 The data packets included in the dashed section are not eligible for a BSR because they do not meet the two mechanisms for triggering a regular BSR (when these data packets are generated, the LCH still contains data packet 4 of the first P-frame, which does not meet the first mechanism; the priority of the LCH corresponding to the second P-frame is not higher than the priority of the LCH corresponding to the first P-frame, which does not meet the second mechanism). As a result, the terminal device cannot send a BSR to the network device for the data packets that have already been generated in the second P-frame, thus preventing the transmission of the data packets that have already been generated in the second P-frame.
[0128] In summary, according to the above technical solutions (Technical Solution 1 and Technical Solution 2), when a terminal device is running XR services, there may be situations where a certain frame of data cannot be transmitted completely within the configured PDB, or even where only part of the frame data can be transmitted. This results in the cloud being unable to receive complete frame data or correctly decode it, severely impacting the user experience. Furthermore, it wastes some frame data that the terminal device has already successfully transmitted, leading to wasted power consumption on the terminal side and wasted resources on the network side. Therefore, ensuring that the terminal device can transmit frame data completely is an urgent problem to be solved.

[0130] Furthermore, the network architecture and business scenarios described in the embodiments of this application are for the purpose of more clearly illustrating the technical solutions of the embodiments of this application, and do not constitute a limitation on the technical solutions provided in the embodiments of this application. Those skilled in the art will understand that, with the evolution of network architecture and the emergence of new business scenarios, the technical solutions provided in the embodiments of this application are also applicable to similar technical problems.
[0131] The technical solutions in the embodiments of this application will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
[0132] The embodiments of this application can be applied to long-term evolution (LTE) systems or new radio (NR) systems, as well as other future-oriented new systems. The embodiments of this application do not specifically limit this application. Furthermore, the term "system" can be used interchangeably with "network".
[0133] For example, Figure 6 A communication system 10 is provided as an embodiment of this application. For example... Figure 6 As shown, the communication system 10 includes a network device 20 and one or more terminal devices 30 connected to the network device 20. The terminal devices 30 are wirelessly connected to the network device 20. Optionally, different terminal devices 30 can communicate with each other. The terminal devices 30 can be fixed in location or movable.
[0134] It should be noted that, Figure 6 This is merely a schematic diagram. Although not shown, the communication system 10 may also include other network devices. For example, the communication system 10 may also include one or more of a core network device, a wireless relay device, and a wireless backhaul device; no specific limitations are made here. The network devices can connect to the core network device wirelessly or via a wired connection. The core network device and the network device 20 can be independent and different physical devices, or the functions of the core network device and the logical functions of the network device 20 can be integrated on the same physical device. Alternatively, a single physical device can integrate some of the functions of the core network device and some of the functions of the network device 20; this embodiment does not specifically limit this approach.
[0135] by Figure 6Taking the interaction between the network device 20 and any terminal device 30 as an example, in one possible implementation, the network device 20 receives first information from the terminal device 30, which indicates the amount of first uplink data to be transmitted by the terminal device. Then, the network device 20 determines a first uplink resource based on the first information and receives second information from the terminal device 30, which indicates a first duration corresponding to the first uplink data. If the network device 20 determines, based on the amount of the first uplink data and the first duration, that the terminal device 30 can send the first uplink data to the network device within the first duration, and determines that there is second uplink data to be transmitted by the terminal device 30 before receiving the first indication information, then it sends the first indication information and the second indication information to the terminal device 30. The first indication information indicates information about the first uplink resource. The second indication information indicates at least one of the following: the terminal device 30 prioritizes sending the first uplink data on the first uplink resource; or, the terminal device 30 increases the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data. The specific implementation and technical effects of this scheme will be described in detail in subsequent method embodiments and will not be repeated here.
[0136] by Figure 6 Taking the interaction between the network device 20 and any terminal device 30 as an example, in another possible implementation, the network device 20 receives fourth information from the terminal device 30, which indicates a first cycle. Then, the network device 20 determines first configuration information based on the first cycle and sends the first configuration information to the terminal device 30. The first configuration information is used by the terminal device 30 to configure a second cycle; the second cycle is the cycle in which the terminal device sends fifth information to the network device. The second cycle is less than or equal to the cycle in which the terminal device sends each frame of uplink data to the network device. The fifth information indicates the amount of uplink data to be transmitted by the terminal device 30. The specific implementation and technical effects of this scheme will be described in detail in subsequent method embodiments and will not be repeated here.
[0137] Optionally, the network device 20 in this embodiment is a device that connects the terminal device 30 to a wireless network. The network device 20 can be a base station, an evolved NodeB (eNodeB), a transmission reception point (TRP), a next-generation NodeB (gNB) in a 5G mobile communication system, a base station in a future mobile communication system, or an access node in a wireless-fidelity (Wi-Fi) system; it can also be a module or unit that performs some of the functions of a base station. For example, a central unit (CU), a distributed unit (DU), etc. The embodiments of this application do not limit the specific technology or device form used in the network device. In this application, unless otherwise specified, network device refers to wireless access network device.
[0138] Optionally, the terminal device 30 in this application embodiment can be a device for implementing wireless communication functions. For example, it can be a terminal or a chip that can be used in a terminal. A terminal can also be called user equipment (UE), a mobile station, a mobile terminal, etc. A terminal can be a mobile phone, tablet computer, computer with wireless transceiver capabilities, virtual reality terminal device, augmented reality terminal device, wireless terminal in industrial control, wireless terminal in autonomous driving, wireless terminal in remote surgery, wireless terminal in smart grids, wireless terminal in transportation safety, wireless terminal in smart cities, wireless terminal in smart homes, etc. The embodiments of this application do not limit the specific technology or device form used in the terminal device.
[0139] Optionally, the network device 20 and terminal device 30 in the embodiments of this application can be deployed on land, including indoors or outdoors, handheld or vehicle-mounted; they can also be deployed on water; and they can also be deployed in the air on airplanes, balloons, and artificial satellites. The embodiments of this application do not limit the application scenarios of the network device 20 and terminal device 30.
[0140] Optionally, in this embodiment, the network device 20 and the terminal device 30 can communicate using licensed spectrum, unlicensed spectrum, or both simultaneously. The network device 20 and the terminal device 30 can communicate using spectrum below 6 gigahertz (GHz), spectrum above 6 GHz, or both simultaneously. [0161] The following will combine Figures 1 to 8 ,by Figure 6 Taking the interaction between the network device 20 shown and any terminal device 30 as an example, the uplink data transmission method provided in this application embodiment will be described in detail.
[0162] For example, Figure 9 This application provides an uplink data transmission method according to an embodiment. Figure 9 As shown, the uplink data transmission method includes S901-S904:
[0163] S901, the terminal device sends first information to the network device. Correspondingly, the network device receives the first information from the terminal device, which indicates the amount of first uplink data to be transmitted by the terminal device.
[0164] S902, The network device determines the first uplink resource based on the first information.
[0165] S903. The terminal device sends second information to the network device. Correspondingly, the network device receives the second information from the terminal device, which indicates the first duration corresponding to the first uplink data.
[0166] S904. If the network device determines, based on the data volume and duration of the first uplink data, that the terminal device can send the first uplink data to the network device within the first duration, and determines that there is second uplink data to be transmitted before the terminal device receives the first indication information, the network device sends the first indication information and the second indication information to the terminal device. Correspondingly, the terminal device receives the first indication information and the second indication information from the network device. The first indication information is used to indicate information about the first uplink resource. The second indication information is used to indicate at least one of the following: the terminal device prioritizes sending the first uplink data on the first uplink resource; or, the terminal device increases the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data.
[0167] In S901, in this embodiment of the application, when the terminal device has first uplink data to be transmitted but does not have sufficient uplink resources to transmit the first uplink data, the terminal device sends first information to the network device to request uplink resources for the first uplink data. After receiving the first information, the network device can determine to allocate uplink resources to the terminal device based on the first information. The first information indicates the amount of the first uplink data to be transmitted, so that the network device can allocate uplink resources specifically for the first uplink data based on the amount of the first uplink data.
[0168] In this embodiment, the terminal device has first uplink data to be transmitted, but the terminal device does not have sufficient uplink resources to transmit the first uplink data. Specifically, the current uplink data to be transmitted by the terminal device includes the first uplink data and other uplink data. If the current uplink resources of the terminal device are used to transmit other uplink data, the remaining uplink resources are insufficient to transmit the first uplink data. In this case, the terminal device can send first information and other uplink data to the network device, so that the network device can allocate additional uplink resources for the first uplink data based on the first information.
[0169] For example, in this embodiment of the application, the first information may be a BSR.
[0170] In S902, in this embodiment of the application, the network device can determine how much uplink resource is needed to transmit the first uplink data based on the amount of data of the first uplink data indicated by the first information, thereby determining the first uplink resource used to transmit the first uplink data.
[0171] For S903, the terminal device can send second information indicating a first duration to the network device. The first duration can be understood as the time reserved by the terminal device for transmitting the first uplink data. If the terminal device can successfully transmit the first uplink data to the network device within the first duration, it means that the first uplink data has not timed out, and the terminal device does not need to discard the remaining data to be transmitted. Optionally, the first duration can be the configured PDB duration minus the time taken by the terminal device from generating the first uplink data to preparing to send it to the network device. In other words, the first duration can be the configured PDB minus the time taken by the terminal device to prepare to send the first uplink data to the network device, leaving the remaining PDB duration.
[0172] Optionally, in this embodiment, the terminal device can send the first information and the second information simultaneously. In other words, S901 and S903 can be executed simultaneously, while S902 can be executed after S901 and S903. The first information can be carried in the same message or signaling as the second information, or it can be carried in different messages or signaling; this embodiment does not impose any restrictions on this.
[0173] For S904, after receiving the first and second information, the network device needs to perform the following two judgments:
[0174] First determination: Based on the data volume and duration of the first uplink data, determine whether the terminal device can send the first uplink data to the network device within the first duration if the first uplink resources are allocated to it. Specifically, the network device can calculate whether the terminal device can send the first uplink data to the network device within the first duration based on the data volume, duration, and a pre-configured algorithm.
[0175] Regarding the first judgment, in this embodiment of the application, the specific implementation of the network device's first judgment is related to the second indication information that the network device may subsequently send to the terminal device, which will be described in detail below.
[0176] The second determination: If the first indication information is sent to the terminal device, it is determined whether the terminal device has second uplink data to be transmitted before receiving the first indication information. The second uplink data is different from the first uplink data. The first indication information is used to indicate information about the first uplink resource, so that the terminal device can determine the first uplink resource based on the first indication information.
[0177] Optionally, the first indication information may include information such as the time-frequency domain location and MCS of the first uplink resource. For example, the first indication information may be a UL grant.
[0178] For the second determination, in one possible implementation, the network device can determine whether there is second uplink data to be transmitted before the terminal device receives the first indication information by following the steps below.
[0179] The network device obtains the periodic information of the uplink data sent by the terminal device to the network device, and determines, based on the periodic information, whether there is second uplink data to be transmitted before the terminal device receives the first indication information.
[0180] The uplink data periodicity information includes uplink data format information and time period information. For example, when a terminal device runs an XR service, it sends each frame of data to the network device according to a Group of Pictures (GOP), i.e., an I-frame followed by several P-frames. The uplink data periodicity information can include the GOP format information, such as three P-frames following the first I-frame in a GOP, and the average frame generation period (the period during which each frame of data is generated), for example, 16.67 ms. After obtaining the uplink data periodicity information, the network device can determine whether the terminal device will generate (or arrive) new uplink data before receiving the first indication information. Furthermore, it can also determine the data type and other related information of the new uplink data, thereby determining whether there is second uplink data to be transmitted before the terminal device receives the first indication information.
[0181] Optionally, the uplink data periodicity information can be pre-configured in the network device or sent by the terminal device (e.g., via RRC signaling) to the network device.
[0182] In another possible implementation of the second determination, the network device can determine whether there is second uplink data to be transmitted before the terminal device receives the first indication information by following the steps below.
[0183] The terminal device sends third information to the network device, and correspondingly, the network device receives the third information from the terminal device. This third information indicates that the terminal device will transmit second uplink data after transmitting the first uplink data. Based on the third information, the network device determines that there is second uplink data to be transmitted before the terminal device receives the first indication information. In this implementation, the network device can directly determine that there is second uplink data to be transmitted before the terminal device receives the first indication information based on the third information from the terminal device. Optionally, the third information can indicate the type of uplink data that the terminal device will transmit after the first uplink data, for example, indicating that the next frame is an I-frame.
[0184] Optionally, the terminal device can send third information to the network device via MAC signaling.
[0185] If both of the above judgments result in "yes," meaning the network device determines, based on the data volume and duration of the first uplink data, that the terminal device can send the first uplink data to the network device within the first duration, and determines that there is second uplink data to be transmitted before the terminal device receives the first indication information, then the network device executes the following steps: sending the first indication information and the second indication information to the terminal device; otherwise, it does not execute these steps. The second indication information indicates at least one of the following: the terminal device prioritizes sending the first uplink data on the first uplink resource; or, the terminal device increases the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data.
[0186] Optionally, if at least one of the two judgments performed by the network device results in "no", the network device may still send the first indication information to the terminal device to indicate the first uplink resource, but will not send the second indication information.
[0187] It should be noted that the names "first judgment" and "second judgment" mentioned above are only for clarity of description, and the embodiments of this application do not limit the timing order in which the network device performs the first judgment and the second judgment.
[0188] Optionally, in this embodiment, the first indication information may be carried in the same message or signaling as the second indication information. For example, the first indication information may be carried in the same UL grant as the second indication information. Alternatively, the first indication information may be carried in different messages or signaling as the second indication information. This embodiment does not impose any limitations on this.
[0189] It should be noted that, in this embodiment of the application, the function of the second instruction information instructing the terminal device to perform the corresponding steps only takes effect when the terminal device receives the second instruction information. The terminal device will not continuously perform the corresponding steps according to a certain second instruction information.
[0190] In this embodiment of the application, the terminal device prioritizes sending the first uplink data on the first uplink resource, which includes the terminal device prioritizing the allocation of the first uplink resource to the first uplink data, but does not include prioritizing the allocation of the first uplink resource to the second uplink data.
[0191] Optionally, in this embodiment, the technical solution of the network device sending first indication information and second indication information to the terminal device can be applied to scenarios where the first priority is lower than the second priority. Here, the first priority is the priority of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data, and the second priority is the priority of the second logical channel corresponding to the second uplink data. Referring to the above description of technical solution one, if the first priority is lower than the second priority and technical solution one is applied, it may result in the incomplete transmission of the first uplink data not being completed within the configured PDB. In this embodiment, the network device can send the second indication information to the terminal device, instructing the terminal device to prioritize the transmission of the first uplink data on the first uplink resource, and / or instructing the terminal device to increase the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data, thereby ensuring that the terminal device can transmit the first uplink data on the first uplink resource and thus ensuring that the first uplink data is transmitted completely within the configured PDB. The specific implementation is described in detail below.
[0192] Furthermore, the scenario where the first priority is lower than the second priority can specifically be as follows: the priority configured by the network device for the first logical channel (first priority) is lower than the priority configured by the network device for the second logical channel (second priority). The first logical channel is the logical channel corresponding to a forward predictive coded frame (I-frame), and the second logical channel is the logical channel corresponding to a full-frame compressed coded frame (P-frame). In other words, in this scenario, before the network device sends the first indication information and the second indication information to the terminal device, if the network device determines that the first uplink data is a P-frame and the second uplink data is an I-frame, it can determine that the priority of the logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data is lower than the priority of the logical channel corresponding to the second uplink data; that is, the first priority is lower than the second priority. The method by which the network device determines that the first uplink data is a P-frame and the second uplink data is an I-frame can be referenced from the method described above for the network device to determine whether there is second uplink data to be transmitted before receiving the first indication information.
[0193] Furthermore, the embodiments of this application are not limited to scenarios where the first priority is lower than the second priority. In scenarios where the first priority is equal to the second priority, or where the first priority is higher than the second priority, the technical solutions of the embodiments of this application can still be applied.
[0194] The second instruction information is described in detail below. In one possible implementation, where the second instruction information instructs the terminal device to prioritize sending the first uplink data on the first uplink resource, the second instruction information instructs the terminal device to adjust the first priority to the third priority, where the third priority is higher than the second priority.
[0195] In this implementation, the network device performs the first judgment as follows: Given that the terminal device has adjusted the original priority of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data, and the adjusted priority of the first logical channel is higher than the priority of the second logical channel corresponding to the second uplink data, the network device determines whether the terminal device can transmit the first uplink data to the network device within the first duration, based on the data volume of the first uplink data and the first duration. If the network device determines that the terminal device, after adjusting the priority, can transmit the first uplink data to the network device within the first duration, then the result of the first judgment is yes.
[0196] In this implementation, after the network device sends the second instruction information to the terminal device, the terminal device adjusts the original priority (first priority) of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data according to the second instruction information, so that the adjusted priority (third priority) of the first logical channel is higher than the priority (second priority) of the second logical channel corresponding to the second uplink data. Because the terminal device will prioritize transmitting uplink data on the logical channel with the highest priority, the terminal device will prioritize sending the first uplink data on the first uplink resource. Furthermore, because the network device has previously determined that if the first uplink resource is allocated to the terminal device, the terminal device can send the first uplink data to the network device within a first time period, it can be guaranteed that the terminal device can transmit the first uplink data within the specified time period through the first uplink resource, and there will be no situation where the terminal device discards the remaining data to be transmitted due to timeout.
[0197] The implementation method will be explained and illustrated below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Figure 10As shown, the terminal device has two LCHs: LCH1 and LCH2, corresponding to PBR1 and PBR2 respectively. LCH1 and LCH2 are used to transmit I-frame data and P-frame data respectively. The network device configures LCH1 with a higher priority than LCH2. Assuming the P-frame data to be transmitted in LCH2 is the first uplink data, and the current uplink resources are insufficient to transmit it, the terminal device sends a BSR (Browser Request Scheduler) and a second message indicating the remaining PDB (first duration) to the network device for the first uplink data. While waiting for the corresponding UL grant, it generates a new I-frame (the second uplink data), which is the uplink data from LCH1. Based on the BSR and the second message, the network device determines that the terminal device can transmit the first uplink data to the network device within the remaining PDB, and that the terminal device generated an I-frame before receiving the UL grant. Therefore, the network device sends a UL grant to the terminal device and a second instruction instructing the terminal device to raise the priority of LCH2 to a higher priority than LCH1. After receiving the UL grant and the second indication information, the terminal device determines the uplink resources indicated by the UL grant and increases the priority of LCH2 to be higher than that of LCH1. After adjusting the priority, when allocating the uplink resources indicated by the UL grant, the terminal device first allocates uplink resources (data 2) for the first uplink data corresponding to PBR2 on LCH2, then allocates uplink resources (data 1) for the uplink data corresponding to PBR1 on LCH1, and then allocates uplink resources (data 4) for the remaining first uplink data on LCH2. This ensures that the first uplink data is sent on the first uplink resources first, and there will be no timeout.
[0198] In another possible implementation where the second indication information is used to instruct the terminal device to prioritize the transmission of first uplink data on the first uplink resource, the second indication information is used to instruct that the first uplink resource can only be used to transmit uplink data corresponding to the first logical channel. Here, the first uplink data corresponds to the first logical channel, and the second uplink data corresponds to the second logical channel.
[0199] In this implementation, the network device performs the first judgment as follows: Based on the amount of the first uplink data and the first duration, the network device determines whether the terminal device can complete the transmission of the first uplink data to the network device within the first duration if the first uplink resources are only used for transmitting the first uplink data. If the network device determines that the terminal device can complete the transmission of the first uplink data to the network device within the first duration, then the result of the first judgment is yes.
[0200] In this implementation, after the network device sends the second instruction information to the terminal device, the terminal device, according to the second instruction information, allocates the first uplink resources only to the first uplink data on the first logical channel, and does not allocate the first uplink resources to the second uplink data on the second logical channel, thereby achieving priority transmission of the first uplink data on the first uplink resources. Furthermore, because the network device has previously determined that if the first uplink resources are allocated to the terminal device, the terminal device can transmit the first uplink data to the network device within a first time period, it can be guaranteed that the terminal device can transmit the first uplink data within the specified time period using the first uplink resources, and there will be no situation where the terminal device discards the remaining data to be transmitted due to timeout.
[0201] The implementation method will be explained and illustrated below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Figure 11 As shown, the terminal device has two LCHs: LCH1 and LCH2, corresponding to PBR1 and PBR2 respectively. LCH1 and LCH2 are used to transmit I-frame data and P-frame data respectively. The network device configures LCH1 with a higher priority than LCH2. Assuming the P-frame data to be transmitted in LCH2 is the first uplink data, and the current uplink resources are insufficient to transmit the first uplink data, the terminal device sends a BSR (Browser Request Scheduler) and a second message indicating the remaining PDB (first duration) to the network device for the first uplink data. While waiting for the corresponding UL grant, it generates a new I-frame (second uplink data), which is the uplink data on LCH1. Based on the BSR and the second message, the network device determines that the terminal device can transmit the first uplink data to the network device within the remaining PDB, and that the terminal device generated an I-frame before receiving the UL grant. Therefore, the network device sends the UL grant to the terminal device and a second indication message indicating that the first uplink resources corresponding to the UL grant can only be used to transmit the uplink data on LCH2. After receiving the UL grant and the second indication information, the terminal device determines the uplink resources indicated by the UL grant. When allocating the uplink resources indicated by the UL grant, it first allocates uplink resources for the first uplink data corresponding to PBR2 on LCH2, and then allocates uplink resources for the remaining first uplink data on LCH2. That is, it only allocates uplink resources for the first uplink data on LCH2, and does not allocate uplink resources for the first uplink data on LCH1 according to priority. This ensures that the first uplink data is sent on the first uplink resources first, and there will be no timeout.
[0202] The second instruction information can also be used to instruct the terminal device to increase the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data, so that the terminal device can transmit more first uplink data.
[0203] In this implementation, the specific implementation of the first judgment by the network device can be as follows: the network device determines, based on the amount of the first uplink data and the first duration, whether the terminal device can complete the transmission of the first uplink data to the network device within the first duration if the terminal device adjusts the priority bit rate of the first logical channel. If the network device determines that the terminal device can complete the transmission of the first uplink data to the network device within the first duration after adjusting the priority bit rate, then the result of the first judgment is yes.
[0204] In this implementation, the network device needs to calculate the priority bit rate that allows the first uplink data to be transmitted within the first duration, based on the data volume and duration of the first uplink data from the terminal device. Then, the network device sends the calculated priority bit rate to the terminal device along with second indication information, and instructs the terminal device to increase the priority bit rate of the first logical channel to the priority bit rate carried in the second indication information.
[0205] Optionally, in this case, the second indication information can also be used to instruct the terminal device to reduce the priority bit rate of the second logical channel corresponding to the second uplink data. Optionally, the network device can carry the reduced priority bit rate of the second logical channel determined by the network device in the second indication information, or the second indication information can only indicate the reduction of the priority bit rate of the second logical channel without indicating a specific value. Based on this scheme, the priority bit rate of the first logical channel can be increased and the priority bit rate of the second logical channel can be decreased, so that more of the first uplink resources are allocated to the first uplink data and less to the second uplink data.
[0206] The second instruction information in this situation will be explained exemplarily below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Figure 12As shown, the terminal device has two LCHs: LCH1 and LCH2, corresponding to PBR1 and PBR2 respectively, with PBR1 having a higher priority than PBR2. LCH1 and LCH2 are used to transmit I-frame data and P-frame data respectively, and the network device configures LCH1 with a higher priority than LCH2. While waiting for the corresponding UL grant, it generates a new I-frame (the second uplink data), which is the uplink data from LCH1. Based on the BSR and the second message, the network device determines that the terminal device can transmit the first uplink data to the network device within the remaining PDB, and the terminal device generates an I-frame before receiving the UL grant. Therefore, the network device calculates the value of PBR2 after it is increased (PBR2.1) and the value of PBR1 after it is decreased (PBR1.1), and sends a UL grant and a second instruction to the terminal device instructing it to increase PBR2 to PBR2.1 and decrease PBR1 to PBR1.1. Upon receiving the UL grant and the second instruction, the terminal device determines the uplink resources indicated by the UL grant and increases PBR2 for LCH2 to PBR2.1 and decreases PBR1 to PBR1.1. When allocating the uplink resources indicated by the UL grant, the terminal device first allocates uplink resources for the uplink data (data 1) corresponding to PBR1.1 on LCH1, and then allocates uplink resources for the first uplink data (data 2) corresponding to PBR2.1 on LCH2. Because the adjusted PBR2.1 is high enough, the first uplink data on LCH2 can be sent entirely through the first uplink resources without timeout.
[0207] The different implementations of the second indication information described above can be applied independently or in combination, and this application embodiment does not limit this. In other words, the second indication information indicates at least one of the following: the terminal device preferentially transmits the first uplink data on the first uplink resource; or, the terminal device increases the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data, which may include the following situations:
[0208] The second instruction information instructs the terminal device to prioritize the transmission of first uplink data on the first uplink resource. This includes instructing the terminal device to adjust the first priority to the third priority, and / or instructing that the first uplink resource can only be used to transmit uplink data corresponding to the first logical channel.
[0209] The second indication information instructs the terminal device to increase the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data. Optionally, in this case, the second indication information may also instruct the terminal device to decrease the priority bit rate of the second logical channel corresponding to the second uplink data.
[0210] The second instruction information instructs the terminal device to prioritize sending the first uplink data on the first uplink resource, and instructs the terminal device to increase the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data.
[0211] Based on the technical solution of this application embodiment, after receiving the first information indicating the amount of first uplink data sent by the terminal device, and the first duration corresponding to the first uplink data, if the network device determines that the terminal device has new second uplink data to be transmitted during the period of receiving the allocated first uplink resources, in order to avoid the terminal device using too much of the allocated first uplink resources to transmit the second uplink data, resulting in insufficient first uplink resources to transmit the first uplink data, the network device can instruct the terminal device to prioritize the transmission of the first uplink data on the first uplink resources through the second indication information, and / or increase the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data, thereby ensuring that the terminal device can completely transmit the first uplink data on the first uplink resources, avoiding the situation where the first uplink data transmission times out, resulting in the inability to correctly decode the data and affecting the user experience.
[0212] The actions of the network device in steps S901 to S904 above can be performed by... Figure 7 The processor 301 in the terminal device 30 shown calls the application code stored in the memory 302 to instruct the terminal device to execute. Figure 7 The processor 201 in the network device 20 shown calls the application code stored in the memory 202 to instruct the network device to execute. This embodiment does not impose any limitations on this.
[0213] For example, Figure 13 Another uplink data transmission method provided in this application embodiment. For example... Figure 13 As shown, the uplink data transmission method includes S1301-S1302:
[0214] S1301, The terminal device sends fourth information to the network device. Correspondingly, the network device receives the fourth information from the terminal device, which is used to indicate the first cycle.
[0215] S1302. The network device determines first configuration information according to the first cycle and sends the first configuration information to the terminal device. The first configuration information is used by the terminal device to configure the second cycle. The second cycle is the cycle in which the terminal device sends the fifth information to the network device. The second cycle is less than or equal to the cycle in which the terminal device sends each frame of uplink data to the network device. The fifth information is used to indicate the amount of uplink data to be transmitted by the terminal device.
[0216] For S1301, the terminal device can determine its desired period for sending the fifth information to the network device, i.e., the first period, based on a pre-configured algorithm. The fifth information indicates the amount of uplink data to be transmitted by the terminal device. The terminal device can use the fifth information to request uplink resources from the network device for the uplink data to be transmitted. In other words, the first period is the desired period for the terminal device to request uplink resources from the network device.
[0217] After determining the first cycle, the terminal device sends the first cycle along with the fourth information to the network device, so that the network device knows the cycle in which the terminal device expects to send the fifth information to the network device.
[0218] Optionally, the fourth piece of information can be carried in the UE assistance information.
[0219] In S1302, after receiving the fourth message from the terminal device, the network device can determine the second period based on the first period and configure the second period for the terminal device using the first configuration information. The second period is the period during which the terminal device sends the fifth message to the network device. In other words, after configuring the second period, the terminal device can periodically send the fifth message to the network device according to the second period, thereby periodically requesting uplink resources for the uplink data to be transmitted by the terminal device.
[0220] For example, the fifth piece of information can be a BSR, or a periodic BSR. In this case, the first period can be called the preferred periodic BSR-Timer.
[0221] Based on the technical solution of this application embodiment, the network device can configure a second cycle for the terminal device according to the first cycle sent by the terminal device, thereby enabling the terminal device to send the fifth information to the network device according to the second cycle. Even if some uplink data to be transmitted cannot trigger the regular BSR according to the above-mentioned regular BSR triggering mechanism, the terminal device can still request uplink resources for these uplink data to be transmitted through the periodically sent fifth information.
[0222] Optionally, in this embodiment, the network device can determine the second period based on a pre-configured algorithm and the first period. The determined second period can be the same as or different from the first period, and this embodiment does not impose any restrictions on this. However, in order to ensure that each frame of data newly generated or received by the terminal device can be successfully transmitted within the PDB, the second period determined by the network device needs to be less than or equal to the frame period, where the frame period is the average frame generation period.
[0223] The following description, in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, provides an exemplary illustration of the solutions in S1301-S1302. Figure 14 As shown, assume the network device configures a second cycle for the terminal device using the first configuration information. If the terminal device's current uplink resources are insufficient to transmit all data packets of the first P-frame, it sends data packets 1-3 and a BSR to the network device to request additional uplink resources for transmitting data packet 4. While waiting for the UL grant, the terminal device generates a second P-frame. After receiving the UL grant, the terminal device can transmit data packet 4 of the first P-frame using the uplink resources indicated by the UL grant. However, if the second P-frame corresponds to the same LCH as the first P-frame, or if the priority of the LCH corresponding to the second P-frame is not higher than the priority of the LCH corresponding to the first P-frame, the data packets already generated by the second P-frame before this (…) Figure 14 The data packets included in the dashed section do not meet the two mechanisms for triggering a regular BSR mentioned above. Therefore, the terminal device cannot send a regular BSR to the network device for the data packets already generated in the second P-frame. However, the terminal device can send a periodic BSR (fifth information) according to the second period. When the terminal device sends this periodic BSR, the uplink data to be transmitted includes all the data packets of the second P-frame. Therefore, the periodic BSR sent by the terminal device is used to indicate the data volume of all data packets in the second P-frame, so that the network device can allocate uplink resources for the second P-frame.
[0224] The actions of the network device in steps S1301 to S1302 above can be performed by...

[0228] Figure 15 A schematic diagram of a communication device 150 is shown. The communication device 150 includes a transceiver module 1501 and a processing module 1502. The first indication information indicates information about the first uplink resource. The second indication information indicates at least one of the following: the terminal device preferentially sends the first uplink data on the first uplink resource; or, the terminal device increases the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data.
[0230] Optionally, before the transceiver module 1501 sends the first indication information and the second indication information to the terminal device, the first priority is lower than the second priority; the first priority is the priority of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data, and the second priority is the priority of the second logical channel corresponding to the second uplink data.

Wherein, the third priority is higher than the second priority.
[0233] Optionally, when the second indication information is used to instruct the terminal device to increase the priority bit rate of the first logical channel corresponding to the first uplink data, the second indication information is also used to instruct the terminal device to decrease the priority bit rate of the second logical channel corresponding to the second uplink data.
[0234] Optionally, the second indication information used to instruct the terminal device to prioritize the transmission of first uplink data on the first uplink resource includes: the second indication information used to instruct that the first uplink resource can only be used to transmit uplink data corresponding to the first logical channel. Wherein, the first uplink data corresponds to the first logical channel, and the second uplink data corresponds to the second logical channel.
[0235] Optionally, the processing module 1502 is specifically used to obtain the periodic information of the uplink data sent by the terminal device to the communication device; and to determine, based on the periodic information, that there is second uplink data to be transmitted before the terminal device receives the first indication information.
[0236] Optionally, the processing module 1502 is specifically used to receive third information from the terminal device through the transceiver module. The third information is used to indicate that the terminal device will transmit second uplink data after transmitting first uplink data. Based on the third information, it is determined that the terminal device has second uplink data to be transmitted before receiving the first indication information.
[0237] Optionally, the first and second instruction information are carried in the uplink authorization message.
[0238] In another possible implementation, the transceiver module 1501 is used to receive fourth information from the terminal device, the fourth information indicating the first cycle. The processing module 1502 is used to determine first configuration information based on the first cycle. The transceiver module 1501 is also used to send the first configuration information to the terminal device. The first configuration information is used by the terminal device to configure a second cycle. The second cycle is the cycle in which the terminal device sends fifth information to the communication device, and the second cycle is less than or equal to the cycle in which the terminal device sends each frame of uplink data to the communication device. The fifth information indicates the amount of uplink data to be transmitted by the terminal device.
