Abstract
Aspects of the disclosure relate to wireless communications in which waveforms are configured according to probability constellation shaping in combination with modulation. A wireless transmission device can determine a sequence of amplitude symbols from a sequence of information bits using a distribution matcher (DM) configured for probability amplitude shaping. The device can further apply an error correction code to encode a block of information corresponding to at least a portion of the sequence of amplitude symbols. And the device can generate a sequence of output symbols for transmission based on the encoded block of information. In various examples, the device can apply interleaving to one or more of the sequence of amplitude symbols, the block of information, the encoded block of information, or a combination of the sequence of amplitude symbols and the encoded block of information to generate the sequence of output symbols. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
