The application discloses a thunderstorm centroid positioning and tracking prediction method based on gray processing, and steps are as follows: data acquisition of Doppler weather radar; quality control is conducted on the read data; the read data is converted in PPI form, and the azimuth, elevation and distance of each reflectivity point from the radar are calculated; radar reflectivity data is converted in gray scale; the radar reflectivity large value area and small value area are compressed and stretched in gray scale; the thunderstorm centroid data is calculated through the gray centroid method; the centroid data of multiple adjacent time instants is accumulated, the numbered thunderstorm is calculated in azimuth, speed, centroid height, the path of the next time instant is predicted, the predicted value is corrected with the next time instant measured value, the thunderstorm early warning and forecast are made through the predicted moving speed and direction, the corresponding weather forecast data is published in combination with local historical data. The application can retain the original data to the greatest extent, and the accuracy of thunderstorm centroid calculation is improved in combination with the gray centroid method.
