Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] This invention belongs to the field of textiles, specifically relating to a method for improving the color depth of textiles dyed with honeysuckle extract. Background Technology
[0002] Honeysuckle, the dried flower buds or unopened flowers of *Lonicera japonica*, a plant in the Caprifoliaceae family, is a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine with strong broad-spectrum antibacterial properties. The main components of honeysuckle extract are chlorogenic acid, isochlorogenic acid, flavonoids, linalool, and gentioyl alcohol, among others. The flavonoids and tannins it contains are excellent natural plant dyes that can be used for coloring textiles.
[0003] However, due to the low content of plant dyes in honeysuckle extract and the poor affinity of these plant dyes with fabrics (especially cellulosic fiber fabrics), the dyed fabrics have light colors and poor wash fastness.
[0004] Currently, there are few literature reports on the use of honeysuckle extract for dyeing textiles. Summary of the Invention
[0005] The purpose of this section is to outline some aspects of embodiments of the present invention and to briefly describe some preferred embodiments. [0026] Beneficial effects of this invention:
[0027] (1) This invention provides a method for improving the color depth of textiles dyed with honeysuckle extract. The method first pre-treats cotton fabrics with sodium hydroxide / urea, causing the surface of the cotton fabric fibers to swell violently or even partially dissolve. After washing and drying, the fabrics are immersed in anhydrous ethanol containing zinc salt and silane coupling agent. Through in-situ reaction, crystal precipitates are formed on the fabric. At the same time, the silane coupling agent is used to improve the binding strength of the crystal precipitate and the hydroxyl groups on cellulose, and to impart a certain positive charge to cellulose, thereby improving the color depth and color fastness of textiles dyed with honeysuckle extract.
[0028] (2) This invention utilizes a sodium hydroxide / urea mixed solution to micro-dissolve cellulose fibers, which are readily available and inexpensive; it employs the method of forming crystal precipitates in situ inside the micro-dissolved cotton fabric to improve its bonding strength with textiles; and it utilizes silane coupling agents to change the charge of the fabric and improve the color depth of honeysuckle extract on textiles. [0084] See before and after photos of the dyed fabric after washing. Figure 1 The test results are as follows:
[0085] Table 1 K / S values of dyed fabrics
[0086]
[0087]
[0088] As can be seen from Table 1, the color depth (K / S value) of the fabric obtained by the present invention is significantly higher than that of the untreated fabric (Comparative Examples 1-5), and the color deepening effect is obvious. At low temperature, the sodium hydroxide / urea mixed solution can break the hydrogen bonds between cellulose fiber molecules, causing cellulose to swell, which is conducive to the penetration of zinc salt and silane coupling agent into the fabric. Therefore, the color depth of the fabric obtained in Example 1 is higher than that in Comparative Examples 1-1.
[0089] The aminosilane coupling agent selected in this invention can react with the hydroxyl groups on cellulose fibers to impart a certain positive charge, which is beneficial to the dyeing of textiles by honeysuckle extract. Therefore, the color depth of the fabric obtained in Example 1 is higher than that in Comparative Examples 1-2.
[0090] In Comparative Examples 1-3, the fabrics were not treated with zinc salts and silane coupling agents, and the color depth of the dyed fabrics was similar to that of Comparative Examples 1-5.
[0091] The cavitation effect of ultrasound facilitates the penetration of substances into the fiber interior; therefore, the color depth of the fabric obtained in Example 1 is also higher than that in Comparative Examples 1-4.
[0092] Comparative Examples 1-6 fabrics, without added zinc salts, had a lighter color depth. Comparative Examples 1-7 fabrics, with excessive zinc salts, were slightly darker than Example 1, and had a lower K / S value after washing. Comparative Examples 1-8, with more silane coupling agent added, resulted in very dark fabrics with a greenish tint, but significant color loss during washing, and a lower K / S value after washing compared to Example 1. Furthermore, Comparative Examples 1-8 produced a white, viscous precipitate adhering to the fabric surface during the washing process, leading to uneven dyeing that was difficult to remove. In summary, Comparative Examples 1-7 and 1-8 indicate that the ratio of zinc salt to silane coupling agent is optimal.
[0093] It should be noted that the above embodiments are only used to illustrate the technical solutions of the present invention and are not intended to limit it. Although the present invention has been described in detail with reference to preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art should understand that modifications or equivalent substitutions can be made to the technical solutions of the present invention without departing from the spirit and scope of the technical solutions of the present invention, and all such modifications or substitutions should be covered within the scope of the present invention.
