This invention relates to a polyionic liquid material containing hydrophobic components, a low-humidity sensor using the same material as a sensing material, and a method for fabricating the sensor, belonging to the field of humidity sensor technology. The low-humidity sensor comprises a ceramic substrate with graphite carbon interdigitated electrodes on its surface, and a sensing layer drop-coated onto the ceramic substrate and the graphite carbon interdigitated electrodes. The invention prepares the polyionic liquid material using an olefin-thiol click chemistry reaction under ultraviolet light excitation, and further obtains a polyionic liquid material containing hydrophobic components by introducing divinylbenzene monomer. The prepared low-humidity sensor based on the hydrophobic polyionic liquid material exhibits excellent humidity-sensing characteristics in the low humidity range, including high sensitivity, high stability, low hysteresis, and rapid response recovery, solving the problems of low sensitivity, slow recovery, and poor stability of most polymer-based humidity sensors when detecting low humidity.
