Enhanced qos operation handling method and user equipment

Abstract

An enhanced error handling method for 5G QoS operation is proposed. A PDU session can define an association between a UE and a data network, where the data network can provide PDU connectivity service. Each PDU session can be identified by a PDU session ID, and can include multiple QoS flows and QoS rules. Within a PDU session, there shall be and only one default QoS rule. The default QoS rule indicates and the QoS flow ID of the sent QoS rule can not change. Two new 5GSM causes can be defined: semantic error in QoS operation (cause value #83) and syntax error in QoS operation (cause value #84). The UE can check the QoS rules provided in the PDU session modification command message to find different types of QoS rule errors. By utilizing the present invention, QoS operation handling can be better.
