AI Technical Summary
In existing connectors, foreign objects may interfere with the non-protruding parts of the stop body's outer surface, causing the stop body in the temporary locking position to be pressed into the permanent locking position, resulting in the failure of the anti-disengagement function.
A receiving recess is formed on the outer surface of one of the components, the housing and the stop. The displacement path of the stop is set in a two-dimensional plane where the opening of the receiving recess is parallel to the exposed surface of the other component. The stop is reliably held by sliding the guide surface.
It effectively prevents foreign object interference from causing the stop body to move from the temporary locking position to the permanent locking position, ensuring that the stop body is reliably maintained in the temporary locking position and improving the reliability of the anti-detachment function.

Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] This disclosure relates to connectors. Background Technology
[0002] Patent Document 1 discloses a connector that uses a stop to prevent terminal parts inserted into a housing from disengaging. The stop is movable between a temporary locking position that allows insertion of the terminal part relative to the housing and a permanent locking position that locks the terminal part in place, preventing disengagement. The stop in the temporary locking position protrudes from the outer surface of the housing. By pressing the stop in the temporary locking position into the housing, the stop moves towards the permanent locking position. When the stop is pressed into the permanent locking position, the terminal part cannot be inserted; therefore, when inserting the terminal part into the housing, the stop must be held in the temporary locking position.
[0003] In the connector of Patent Document 1, a protrusion formed in the housing penetrates the stop body to prevent it from moving from a temporary locking position to a permanent locking position due to pressure from a foreign object. The protrusion protrudes further outward than the outer surface of the stop body. When a foreign object approaches the stop body, the protrusion prevents the foreign object from contacting the stop body. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the stop body from moving from a temporary locking position to a permanent locking position due to pressure from a foreign object. [0004] Patent document: Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2009-117269 Summary of the Invention The problem that the invention aims to solve
[0005] Since the protrusion exists only on a portion of the outer surface of the stop, foreign objects may interfere with the portion of the outer surface of the stop that is away from the protrusion. Therefore, if a foreign object comes into contact with the portion of the outer surface of the stop that is away from the protrusion, the stop in the temporary locking position may be pressed into the permanent locking position.
[0006] The connector disclosed herein is made based on the aforementioned conditions, with the aim of reliably holding the stop in a temporary locked position. Solution for solving the problem
[0007] The connector disclosed herein features: Housing for housing terminal parts; and A stop body, fitted to the housing, is capable of relative displacement between a temporary locking position in which the terminal component can be inserted into the housing and a permanent locking position that restricts the terminal component from disengaging from the housing. A receiving recess is formed on the outer surface of one of the components, the housing and the stop, to receive the other component. The displacement path of the stop body from the temporary locking position to the permanent locking position is set in a two-dimensional plane parallel to the exposed surface of the other component in the opening of the receiving recess. Invention Effects
[0008] According to this disclosure, the stop body can be reliably held in a temporary locked position. Attached Figure Description

[0010] [Description of embodiments of this disclosure] First, embodiments of this disclosure will be described. The connector disclosed herein, (1) The device comprises: a housing for receiving terminal parts; and a stop body fitted to the housing, capable of relative displacement between a temporary locking position in which the terminal parts can be inserted into the housing and a permanent locking position that restricts the terminal parts from disengaging from the housing. A receiving recess is formed on the outer surface of one of the components, the housing and the stop body, and the receiving recess receives the other component. The displacement path of the stop body from the temporary locking position to the permanent locking position is set in a two-dimensional plane parallel to the exposed surface of the other component in the opening of the receiving recess. According to the structure of this disclosure, even if the outer surface of one component and the exposed surface of the other component are pressed by a foreign object, the stop body in the temporary locking position will not shift relative to the permanent locking position, thus reliably holding the stop body in the temporary locking position.
[0011] (2) Preferably, the exposed surface of the other component is positioned flush with or further inward than the outer surface of the first component. According to this structure, when a foreign object approaches the exposed surface, the impact of the foreign object on the exposed surface can be mitigated or prevented by the interference between the foreign object and the outer surface of the first component.
[0012] (3) Preferably, the inner circumferential surface of the receiving recess and the outer circumferential surface of the other component have arc-shaped guide surfaces that can slide against each other. The stop body moves from the temporary locking position to the permanent locking position while rotating through the sliding contact of the guide surfaces. When the foreign object interferes with the outer surface of one component and the exposed surface of the other component by friction, the direction of interference is linear. However, because the movement of the stop body from the temporary locking position to the permanent locking position is a rotational movement, even if the foreign object interferes with the outer surface of one component and the exposed surface of the other component by friction, the stop body in the temporary locking position is not easy to move to the permanent locking position.
[0013] (4) Preferably, the other component is provided with an elastic retaining piece for holding the stop in a temporary locking position, the elastic retaining piece being arranged along the exposed surface. According to this structure, because the elastic retaining piece does not protrude from the exposed surface, foreign objects are less likely to interfere with the elastic retaining piece, and the retaining function of the elastic retaining piece has excellent reliability.
[0014] (5) In (4), preferably, the elastic retaining sheet is positioned flush with or further inward than the outer surface of one of the components. According to this structure, when a foreign object approaches the exposed surface, the impact of the foreign object on the elastic retaining sheet is mitigated or prevented by the interference between the foreign object and the outer surface of one of the components.
[0015] [Details of the embodiments of this disclosure] [Example 1] Reference Figures 1-15 Embodiment 1 illustrates the connector embodied in this disclosure. Furthermore, the invention is not limited to these illustrations, but is shown by the claims, encompassing all variations within the meaning and scope of the claims. In this embodiment 1, regarding the front-to-back direction, Figures 1-3 In 1, 2, 3, and 4, the direction represented by arrow F is defined as forward, and the direction represented by arrow R is defined as backward.
[0016] like Figures 1-3 As shown, the connector in this embodiment 1 is configured to include a housing 10, three terminal parts 25, a stop body 32, and a cover 50. The housing 10 is a single component made of synthetic resin. Figure 2 , 3 As shown, the housing 10 has a circular plate portion 11 with the plate thickness direction facing the front-rear direction, a cylindrical portion 12 that protrudes concentrically forward from the front surface of the circular plate portion 11, and three terminal storage portions 21 that protrude forward from the front surface of the circular plate portion 11.
[0017] Three guide protrusions 13 and three anti-detachment ribs 14 are formed on the outer periphery of the circular plate portion 11. The three guide protrusions 13 form an arc shape concentric with the circular plate portion 11 and are arranged at equal angular intervals in the circumferential direction. The rear surface of the guide protrusions 13 is flush with the rear surface 10R of the circular plate portion 11, i.e., the housing 10. Figure 7 , 10 As shown, the outer peripheral surface of the guide protrusion 13 serves as the first outer peripheral guide surface 15 to perform functions.
[0018] Three anti-detachment ribs 14 form an arc shape concentric with the circular plate portion 11. When viewed from the rear, the anti-detachment ribs 14 are arranged adjacent to the guide protrusion 13 on a clockwise side. The rear surface of the anti-detachment ribs 14 is recessed forward relative to the rear surface of the circular plate portion 11 and the guide protrusion 13. The area on the outer peripheral surface of the circular plate portion 11 where the guide protrusion 13 and the anti-detachment ribs 14 are not formed functions as a second outer peripheral guide surface 16.
[0019] Three elastic retaining pieces 17 are formed on the circular plate portion 11, arranged at equal angular intervals in the circumferential direction. The elastic retaining pieces 17 are arranged along the outer periphery of the circular plate portion 11. When viewed from the rear, the elastic retaining pieces 17 form an arc shape concentric with the circular plate portion 11, and form an arm-like shape extending cantilevered in the clockwise direction. In the front-rear direction, the front surface of the elastic retaining piece 17 is located at the same position as the front surface of the circular plate portion 11, and the rear surface of the elastic retaining piece 17 is located at the same position as the rear surface of the circular plate portion 11. The elastic retaining pieces 17 can be elastically moved in the front-rear direction with their counterclockwise end as a fulcrum when viewed from the rear.
[0020] Two detection grooves 18 are formed in the cylindrical portion 12, and the two detection grooves 18 form an arc shape concentric with the cylindrical portion 12. For example... Figure 13 , 14 As shown, in rear view, a detection recess 19 with a radially outward recessed shape is formed at the counterclockwise end of the detection groove 18. Figure 2 As shown, the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion 12 serves as the third outer peripheral guide surface 20.
[0021] Three terminal housing portions 21 are arranged at equal angular intervals along a circumference concentric with the circular plate portion 11. When viewed from the front of the housing 10, the three terminal housing portions 21 are arranged to surround the cylindrical portion 12. Figure 7 , 8 As shown, a terminal storage chamber 22 is formed inside the terminal storage section 21, which opens onto the rear surface 10R of the circular plate section 11, i.e., the housing 10. For example... Figure 2 , 3 As shown, a notch 23 is formed in the area opposite the cylindrical portion 12 on the outer peripheral surface of the terminal storage portion 21, and the notch 23 opens the terminal storage chamber 22 to the outside of the terminal storage portion 21. Figure 8 , 11 As shown, the notch 23 in the front-to-back direction is formed in the area excluding the front and rear ends of the terminal storage chamber 22. A through hole 24 is formed at the front end of the terminal storage section 21, and the through hole 24 extends from the front end face of the terminal storage section 21 into the terminal storage chamber 22.
[0022] like Figure 8 , 11 As shown, the terminal part 25 is generally elongated in the front-to-back direction. The terminal part 25 has a terminal body portion 26, a connecting portion 27 protruding forward from the front end of the terminal body portion 26, and a crimping portion 28 disposed at the rear of the terminal body portion 26. A stepped primary locking portion 29 is formed in the terminal body portion 26. A secondary locking portion 30 is formed at the rear end of the crimping portion 28. A wire 31 is crimped and connected to the front end of the crimping portion 28.
[0023] The stop body 32 is a single component made of synthetic resin. For example... Figure 4 As shown, the main view shape of the stop 32 is annular. Three guide pins 33 are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the stop 32, which are arranged at equal angular intervals along the circumferential direction.
[0024] A receiving recess 34 is formed in the stop body 32, extending through the stop body 32 in the front-rear direction. The receiving recess 34 has a large-diameter recess 35 that shallowly recesses the rear surface 32R of the stop body 32, and a small-diameter recess 36 that extends from the large-diameter recess 35 to the front end surface of the stop body 32. The large-diameter recess 35 is circular and concentric with the stop body 32. The inner diameter of the large-diameter recess 35 is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the stop body 32. Three guide recesses 37 are formed on the inner circumferential surface of the large-diameter recess 35, arranged at equal angular intervals along the circumferential direction. The guide recesses 37 are arc-shaped and concentric with the stop body 32, opening at the rear surface 32R of the stop body 32. The inner circumferential surface of the guide recesses 37 functions as an arc-shaped first inner circumferential guide surface 38.
[0025] like Figure 3 As shown, in the area on the inner circumferential surface of the large-diameter recess 35 where the guide recess 37 is not formed, a slit-shaped anti-detachment groove 39 is formed. Figure 5 , 7 As shown, the anti-detachment groove 39 is arranged adjacent to the guide recess 37 on the clockwise side when viewed in rear view. When viewed in rear view, the counter-clockwise end of the anti-detachment groove 39 communicates with the guide recess 37. The area on the inner circumferential surface of the large-diameter recess 35 where the guide recess 37 and the anti-detachment groove 39 are not formed functions as a second inner circumferential guide surface 40. The small-diameter recess 36 is formed in a circle concentric with the stop 32 and the large-diameter recess 35. The inner circumferential surface of the small-diameter recess 36 functions as a third inner circumferential guide surface 41.
[0026] like Figure 3 As shown, the portion of the stop 32 surrounding the small-diameter recess 36 functions as an annular portion 42. The rear surface of the annular portion 42 faces into the large-diameter recess 35. Three pairs of retaining protrusions 43, 44 are formed on the rear surface of the annular portion 42 at equal angular intervals in the circumferential direction. Each pair of retaining protrusions 43, 44 is composed of a first retaining protrusion 43 and a second retaining protrusion 44 arranged at circumferential intervals. In a rear view, the second retaining protrusion 44 is positioned clockwise from the first retaining protrusion 43.
[0027] Three retaining chambers 45 are formed in the annular portion 42, arranged at equal angular intervals along the circumference. The retaining chambers 45 extend through the annular portion 42 in the front-to-back direction. Figure 4 , 6 As shown in Figure 9, when viewed from the front, the retaining chamber 45 is a shape in which the elongated circle is curved in an arc shape concentric with the receiving recess 34.
[0028] An arc-shaped base 46, a spear-shaped portion 47, and a formal locking portion 48 are formed within the retaining chamber 45. For example... Figure 6 , 9 As shown, the arc-shaped base 46 extends concentrically outward from the radially inner arc-shaped surface of the inner surface of the retaining chamber 45. The arc-shaped base 46 is disposed at the rear end of the retaining chamber 45. The area formed by the circumferential arc-shaped base 46, in the main view, is the region excluding the clockwise end of the retaining chamber 45.
[0029] The spear-shaped portion 47 is disposed at the center of the circumferential direction of the arc-shaped base 46. The spear-shaped portion 47 extends forward in a cantilever shape from the arc-shaped base 46. The spear-shaped portion 47 can be elastically displaced radially with its rear end as a fulcrum. The spear-shaped portion 47 is the part used for primary locking of the terminal part 25. The formal locking portion 48 is a rib-shaped portion extending radially outward from the arc-shaped base 46. The area formed by the formal locking portion 48 in the circumferential direction is on the counterclockwise side of the spear-shaped portion 47 when viewed from the front. The formal locking portion 48 is disposed rearward than the spear-shaped portion 47.
[0030] Cover 50 is a single component made of synthetic resin. For example... Figure 2 , 3 As shown, the cover 50 has a circular rear wall portion 51 and a cylindrical peripheral wall portion 52 protruding forward from the outer periphery of the rear wall portion 51. Three wire insertion holes 53 are formed in the rear wall portion 51, arranged at equal angular intervals along the circumference. Two detection portions 54 are formed in the rear wall portion 51, and the two detection portions 54 form an arc shape concentric with the rear wall portion 51. The detection portions 54 protrude forward from the rear wall portion 51. Figure 13 , 14 As shown, in rear view, a detection protrusion 55 protruding radially outward is formed at the clockwise end of the detection section 54. Three guide grooves 56 arranged at equal angular intervals along the circumferential direction are formed on the inner circumferential surface of the peripheral wall section 52. The front end of the guide groove 56 opens into the front surface of the peripheral wall section 52.
[0031] Next, the assembly steps of the connector in Embodiment 1 will be described. First, the housing 10, without the terminal parts 25 assembled, is retracted from the rear of the stop body 32 into the receiving recess 34. At this time, the cylindrical part 12 is inserted into the small-diameter recess 36, and the circular plate part 11 is retracted into the large-diameter recess 35. By inserting the guide protrusion 13 and the anti-dislodgement rib 14 into the guide recess 37, the stop body 32 and the housing 10 are positioned in the circumferential direction. The terminal receiving part 21 is retracted in the area of the retaining chamber 45 that is clockwise from the spear-shaped part 47 when viewed from the front.
[0032] From this state, the stop 32 rotates clockwise relative to the housing 10 in the main view. At this time, the first outer peripheral guide surface 15, the second outer peripheral guide surface 16, and the third outer peripheral guide surface 20, and the first inner peripheral guide surface 38, the second inner peripheral guide surface 40, and the third inner peripheral guide surface 41 slide in contact. Through the guiding effect of these sliding contacts, the relative rotation of the stop 32 and the housing 10 proceeds smoothly.
[0033] When the housing 10 and the stop 32 are rotated relative to each other, the anti-disengagement rib 14 engages with the anti-disengagement groove 39, thereby preventing the stop 32 from disengaging forward relative to the housing 10. When the stop 32 is rotated to a temporary locking position (the position where the terminal receiving portion 21 covers the spear-shaped portion 47 from the radially outer side), as Figure 7 As shown, the first retaining protrusion 43 and the second retaining protrusion 44 are engaged with the elastic retaining piece 17 in a circumferentially clamping manner. Through this engaging action, the stop 32 is held in a temporary locked position relative to the housing 10.
[0034] With the stop 32 in the temporary locked position, the circular plate portion 11 and the cylindrical portion 12 of the housing 10 are housed within the receiving recess 34. The rear surface 10R of the housing 10 is exposed at the opening of the receiving recess 34 within the rear surface 32R of the stop 32. The rear surface 10R of the housing 10 is located at the same position as the rear surface 32R of the stop 32 in the front-rear direction.
[0035] Next, the terminal component 25 is inserted into the terminal receiving chamber 22 from the rear of the housing 10. During insertion, the terminal body 26 interferes with the spear-shaped portion 47, causing the spear-shaped portion 47 to elastically shift radially inward. When the terminal component 25 is inserted into the correct position, the connecting portion 27 engages with the through hole 24, and the spear-shaped portion 47 elastically returns to its original position and locks into the primary locking portion 29. By locking the spear-shaped portion 47 into the primary locking portion 29, the terminal component 25 is prevented from dislodging.
[0036] After inserting the three terminal parts 25 into the terminal receiving chamber 22, the stop body 32 is rotated clockwise relative to the housing 10 in the main view. When the stop body 32 is rotated to the final locking position, the anti-disengagement rib 14 abuts against the inner end of the anti-disengagement groove 39, and is locked to the elastic retaining piece 17 by the second retaining protrusion 44, thereby holding the stop body 32 in the final locking position. With the stop body 32 in the final locking position, the primary locking portion 29 of the terminal part 25 and the spear-shaped portion 47 of the stop body 32 separate, and the final locking portion 48 locks to the secondary locking portion 30 of the terminal part 25. Through the locking action of the primary locking portion 48 and the secondary locking portion 30, the terminal part 25 is prevented from disengaging.
[0037] After rotating the stop 32 to its locked position, the cover 50 is assembled to the stop 32 from the rear of the housing 10. During assembly, the stop 32 and the cover 50 are positioned circumferentially by engaging the guide groove 56 with the guide pin 33. When the cover 50 is brought closer to the stop 32, as... Figure 14 As shown, the detection part 54 is embedded in the detection groove 18, and the detection protrusion 55 is embedded in the detection recess 19. In addition, the wire 31 is pre-inserted into the wire insertion hole 53.
[0038] At the point when the cover is assembled (50), with the stop body (32) in a temporary locking position, such as Figure 13 As shown, the detection protrusion 55 detaches from the detection recess 19 and interferes with the opening edge of the detection groove 18. Due to this interference, the cover 50 cannot be assembled to the stop body 32, so it can be determined that the stop body 32 is left in the temporary locking position, that is, the stop body 32 has not moved to the formal locking position.
[0039] The connector of this embodiment 1 includes a housing 10 for receiving terminal parts 25 and a stop 32. The stop 32 is fitted to the housing 10 and can be relatively displaced between a temporary locking position in which the terminal parts 25 can be inserted into the housing 10 and a formal locking position in which the terminal parts 25 are restricted from disengaging from the housing 10.
[0040] A receiving recess 34 for receiving the housing 10 is formed on the rear surface 32R, i.e., the outer surface, of the stop 32. The displacement path of the stop 32 from the temporary locking position to the permanent locking position is set in a two-dimensional plane parallel to the rear surface 10R of the housing 10, i.e., parallel to the exposed surface, within the opening of the receiving recess 34. Even if the rear surface 32R of the stop 32 and the rear surface 10R of the housing 10 are pressed forward by a foreign object, the stop 32 in the temporary locking position will not shift relative to the permanent locking position. Therefore, the stop 32 can be reliably held in the temporary locking position.
[0041] The rear surface 10R of the housing 10 is positioned flush with the rear surface 32R of the stop 32. The elastic retaining piece 17 is also positioned flush with the rear surface 32R of the stop 32. When a foreign object approaches the rear surface 10R of the housing 10, the foreign object interferes with the rear surface 32R of the stop 32. This mitigates or prevents the impact of the foreign object on the rear surface 10R of the housing 10 or on the elastic retaining piece 17.
[0042] The inner circumferential surface of the receiving recess 34 has arc-shaped first to third inner circumferential guide surfaces 38, 40, and 41, and the outer circumferential surface of the housing 10 has arc-shaped first to third outer circumferential guide surfaces 15, 16, and 20. The first to third inner circumferential guide surfaces 38, 40, and 41 and the first to third outer circumferential guide surfaces 15, 16, and 20 are respectively and mutually slidably connected. Through these sliding connections, the stop body 32 rotates while shifting from the temporary locking position to the permanent locking position.
[0043] When a foreign object interferes with the rear surface 32R of the stop 32 and the rear surface 10R of the housing 10 through friction, the direction of interference is linear. In contrast, the movement of the stop 32 from the temporary locking position to the permanent locking position is a rotational movement. Therefore, even if a foreign object interferes with the rear surface 32R of the stop 32 and the rear surface 10R of the housing 10 through friction, the stop 32 in the temporary locking position is not easily moved to the permanent locking position.
[0044] A resilient retaining piece 17 is formed in the housing 10 to hold the stop 32 in a temporary locked position. The resilient retaining piece 17 is arranged along the rear surface 10R of the housing 10. According to this structure, because the resilient retaining piece 17 does not protrude rearward from the rear surface 10R of the housing 10, foreign objects are less likely to interfere with the resilient retaining piece 17. Therefore, the retaining function of the resilient retaining piece 17 has excellent reliability.
