Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a contact for connection to a cable having an outer conductor. Background Technology

[0002] For example, Patent Document 1 discloses this type of contact.

[0003] Reference Figure 15 Regarding the electrical contact unit (contact) 90 disclosed in Patent Document 1, it is connected to a cable 96 having an outer conductor 98. The contact 90 has a crimping portion 92. The crimping portion 92 is crimped to the outer conductor 98 in a manner that surrounds the outer conductor 98, thereby electrically connecting the contact 90 to the outer conductor 98. Existing technical documents Patent documents

[0004] Patent Document 1: Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2017-168440 Summary of the Invention (a) Technical problems to be solved

[0005] According to existing contacts such as those in Patent Document 1, it is possible for the noise immunity of the contacts to deviate when the contacts are pressed against the outer conductor.

[0006] Therefore, the object of the present invention is to provide a contact with stable noise resistance. (II) Technical Solution

[0007] One aspect of the present invention provides a contact that is connected to the front end of a cable having an outer conductor on its outer periphery in the longitudinal direction. The contact has a crimping portion and a receiving portion. In the connected state, the crimping portion crimps the outer conductor in a manner that surrounds it. The receiving portion is located in front of the crimping portion and, in the connected state, partially receives the outer conductor. The receiving portion has two or more pressed portions. In the connected state, each pressed portion is located outside the outer conductor in an orthogonal plane orthogonal to the longitudinal direction and presses against the outer conductor. (III) Beneficial Effects

[0008] When a crimping portion of a contact such as that in Patent Document 1 or the present invention is crimped onto the outer conductor of a cable, a gap is created in the area in front of the crimping portion. When a gap is created, the electromagnetic shielding performance (i.e., noise immunity) of the contact may deteriorate. On the other hand, the contact of the present invention has a receiving portion located in front of the crimping portion. The receiving portion has two or more pressing portions. Each pressing portion is pressed against the outer conductor and makes reliable contact with the outer conductor, preventing deterioration of the noise immunity of the contact. That is, according to the present invention, a contact with stable noise immunity can be provided.

[0009] By studying the following description of the best embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings, one can correctly understand the purpose of the invention and its structure. Attached Figure Description

[0011] This invention can be implemented through various modifications or methods. As one example, a specific embodiment illustrated in the figures is described in detail below. This invention is not limited to the specific embodiments disclosed herein, but includes all modifications, equivalents, and alternatives within the scope of the claims.

[0012] Reference Figure 1 and Figure 2 The cable assembly 10 of this embodiment includes a connector 20 and a cable 70. The cable 70 has a front end portion 702. The front end portion 702 is located at the front end of the cable 70 in the front-rear direction and is mounted to the rear end of the connector 20. In this embodiment, the front-rear direction is the X direction. The front is the +X direction. The rear is the -X direction.

[0013] Reference Figure 2 and Figure 7 The cable 70 of this embodiment includes: an inner conductor 72 made of a conductor, an inner dielectric 74 made of an insulator, a conductive cladding 75 made of a conductor, an outer conductor 76 made of a conductor, and an outer sheath 78 made of an insulator. The inner dielectric 74 covers the inner conductor 72 in an orthogonal plane (YZ plane) orthogonal to the front-back direction. The conductive cladding 75 covers the inner dielectric 74 in the YZ plane. The outer conductor 76 covers the conductive cladding 75 in the YZ plane. The outer sheath 78 covers the outer conductor 76 in the YZ plane.

[0014] The cable 70 in this embodiment is a coaxial cable having the structure described above. The cable 70 is circular in the YZ plane. However, the invention is not limited to this. For example, the cable 70 may also have two inner conductors 72. The two inner conductors 72 may form a differential pair. The cable 70 may also have three or more inner conductors 72. The shape of the cable 70 in the YZ plane may, for example, be elliptical.

[0015] The cable 70 of this embodiment has an inner conductor 72 located at the center of the YZ plane and an outer conductor 76 located outside the inner conductor 72 in the YZ plane. The inner conductor 72 is a conductor used for transmitting signals. The conductive coating 75 is formed of an aluminum polyester film. The outer conductor 76 is a braid made of finer metal wires. The conductive coating 75 and the outer conductor 76 cover the inner conductor 72 to form electromagnetic shielding. The cable 70 of this embodiment has the shielding structure described above. However, as long as the cable 70 has an outer conductor 76, the shielding structure of the cable 70 is not particularly limited. For example, the conductive coating 75 can be provided as needed. The outer conductor 76 can be formed of metal foil.

[0016] Depend on Figure 2 and Figure 7 It is understood that the front end 702 of the cable 70 is processed during the assembly of the cable assembly 10. Specifically, the front end of the outer sheath 78 is removed, thereby partially exposing the outer conductor 76 from the outer sheath 78. That is, the cable 70 has an outer conductor 76 disposed on the outer periphery in the YZ plane. In addition, the front end of the inner dielectric 74 is removed, thereby partially exposing the inner conductor 72 from the inner dielectric 74.

[0017] Reference Figure 2 The connector 20 of this embodiment includes: a contact 30 made of a conductor, a conductive member 40 made of a conductor, a dielectric member 50 made of an insulator, and an internal contact 60 made of a conductor. The contact 30, conductive member 40, and dielectric member 50 of this embodiment each have a hollow cylindrical shape. The internal contact 60 of this embodiment is a metal pin.

[0018] The connector 20 of this embodiment includes the components described above. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. As long as the connector 20 includes the contact 30 and the conductive component 40, the dielectric component 50 and the internal contact 60 can be provided as needed. On the other hand, the connector 20 may include other components in addition to those described above. For example, the connector 20 may also include an insulating shell that holds the conductive component 40. Furthermore, the structure of the dielectric component 50 and the internal contact 60 is not particularly limited. For example, the internal contact 60 may also be a socket.

[0019] The cable assembly 10 of this embodiment is assembled in the following manner.

[0020] Reference Figure 2 and Figure 7 First, the cable 70 is processed as described above. Next, the internal contact 60 is fixed to the front end of the exposed inner conductor 72 of the cable 70. The fixed internal contact 60 is electrically connected to the inner conductor 72 and extends forward from the front end of the inner conductor 72.

[0021] Next, the conductive member 40 is mounted to the cable 70 such that it covers the exposed outer conductor 76 of the cable 70 in the YZ plane. When the conductive member 40 is mounted to the cable 70, the front portion of the outer conductor 76 is exposed from the conductive member 40 and extends forward. Then, the front portion of the outer conductor 76 is folded back to form a folded-back portion 77. The folded-back portion 77 is a part of the outer conductor 76 and is a portion that folds back backward. The outer conductor 76 including the folded-back portion 77 is located on the outer periphery of the cable 70 in the YZ plane. The folded-back portion 77 covers the conductive member 40 in the YZ plane.

[0022] Next, the dielectric component 50 is inserted into the interior of the contact 30 from the front and installed on the contact 30. Then, the contact 30 is connected to the cable 70 such that it covers the folded-back portion 77 in the YZ plane. The contact 30 connected in this way is electrically connected to the outer conductor 76. Furthermore, when the contact 30 is connected to the cable 70, the dielectric component 50 is installed on the inner contact 60 such that it completely covers the inner contact 60 in the YZ plane. This installation of the dielectric component 50 insulates the inner contact 60.

[0023] The cable assembly 10 assembled as described above includes a contact 30 and a cable 70. The contact 30 is connected to the front end 702 of the cable 70. According to this embodiment, a fold-back portion 77 is formed on the outer conductor 76. The contact 30 is connected to the fold-back portion 77 of the outer conductor 76. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the fold-back portion 77 can be formed as needed. If the fold-back portion 77 is not formed, the conductive member 40 can be inserted between the outer conductor 76 and the inner dielectric 74. On the other hand, if the fold-back portion 77 is not formed, the conductive member 40 may not be provided. If the fold-back portion 77 is not formed, the contact 30 can simply be connected to the outer conductor 76 that has not been folded back.

[0024] When the cable assembly 10 is assembled as described above, one end, the front end 702, of the cable 70 is connected to the connector 20. On the other hand, the opposite end (not shown) of the cable 70 is connected to an electronic device (not shown). In the engaged state, where the connector 20 is engaged with the target-side connector (not shown), the electronic device is electrically connected to the target-side electronic device (not shown) equipped with the target-side connector. Specifically, in the engaged state, the internal contact 60 is connected to the target-side signal contact (not shown) of the target-side connector, for example, to transmit high-frequency signals. In the engaged state, the contact 30 and the conductive component 40 have a ground potential, reducing noise caused by high-frequency signals.

[0025] The contact 30 of this embodiment will be described below.

[0026] Reference Figure 1 and Figure 6The contact 30 is configured as the front end 702 of a cable 70 in the front-rear direction connected to the outer periphery of the cable 70 which has an outer conductor 76 provided thereon in the YZ plane.

[0027] Reference Figure 3 The contact 30 extends in the front-rear direction. In this embodiment, the contact 30 is formed by bending a metal plate about an imaginary axis AX that extends parallel to the front-rear direction. In other words, the contact 30 is a bent metal plate. A gap 302 extending in the front-rear direction is formed on the contact 30. The gap 302 is a narrow space. The gap 302 is located between the two edges of the bent metal plate in a transverse direction orthogonal to the front-rear direction. The gap 302 is located at the upper end of the contact 30 in a vertical direction orthogonal to both the front-rear and transverse directions. In this embodiment, the transverse direction is the Y direction. In this embodiment, the vertical direction is the Z direction. The upper direction is the +Z direction. The lower direction is the -Z direction.

[0028] Reference Figure 1 , Figure 3 as well as Figure 4 A through hole 31 is formed on the contact 30. The through hole 31 extends along the imaginary axis AX and passes through the contact 30 in the front-rear direction. (See reference...) Figure 7 In the assembled cable assembly 10, the dielectric component 50 and the internal contact 60 are housed inside the through hole 31. In this embodiment, the through hole 31 is circular in the YZ plane. However, the invention is not limited to this, and the shape of the through hole 31 can be deformed as needed.

[0029] like Figure 3 , Figure 4 as well as Figure 6 As shown, the contact 30 of this embodiment includes a connecting portion 32, a reduced diameter portion 34, a receiving portion 35, and a crimping portion 39. The connecting portion 32 is the front portion of the contact 30. The crimping portion 39 is the rear portion of the contact 30. The receiving portion 35 is located in front of the crimping portion 39. The reduced diameter portion 34 is located between the connecting portion 32 and the receiving portion 35 in the front-rear direction. In other words, the reduced diameter portion 34 is located in front of the receiving portion 35. The contact 30 of this embodiment has the above-described structure. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the structure of the contact 30 can be modified as needed. For example, the contact 30 may have other portions in addition to the portions described above.

[0030] In this embodiment, the connecting portion 32 extends in the front-to-back direction. In the mating state, the connecting portion 32 is connected to the object-side conductive component (not shown) of the object-side connector (not shown). In this embodiment, the connecting portion 32 is circular in the YZ plane. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the shape of the connecting portion 32 can be modified as needed. For example, the connecting portion 32 can be rectangular in the YZ plane.

[0031] Reference Figure 3In this embodiment, the crimping portion 39 has an open cylindrical shape. Specifically, the crimping portion 39 has two crimping tabs 392. The contact 30 is connected to the cable 70 (see reference). Figure 6 The crimping tabs 392 are separated from each other. In other words, the crimping portion 39 is opened before the contact 30 is connected to the cable 70.

[0032] Refer to together Figure 4 and Figure 6 As explained later, during the assembly of the cable assembly 10, when connecting the contact 30 to the cable 70, the front end 702 of the cable 70 is inserted into the contact 30 from the rear. Then, the crimping portion 39 is riveted to the cable 70. Specifically, the two crimping pieces 392 are combined with each other by wrapping around the outer conductor 76 and the outer sheath 78 of the front end 702. In other words, in the connected state where the contact 30 is connected to the cable 70 (… Figure 6 In the connected state, the crimping part 39 is crimped to the outer conductor 76 in a manner that surrounds the outer conductor 76. That is, in the connected state, the crimping part 39 is closed, thereby, the contact 30 is firmly fixed to the cable 70.

[0033] In this embodiment, the crimping portion 39 is crimped onto the folded-back portion 77 of the cable 70. The folded-back portion 77 covers the conductive member 40. The conductive member 40 in this embodiment is made of metal and has rigidity. The conductive member 40 prevents deformation of the cable 70 when the crimping portion 39 is crimped, thereby ensuring that the crimping portion 39 is reliably crimped onto the folded-back portion 77. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the conductive member 40 can be provided as needed.

[0034] In the connected state, the crimp portion 39 of this embodiment surrounds the outer conductor 76 without gaps, except for the small space formed between the two crimp tabs 392. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the structure of the crimp portion 39 can be modified as needed.

[0035] Reference Figure 5 The receiving portion 35 of this embodiment has a front portion 352 and a rear portion 354. The front portion 352 is the front part of the receiving portion 35. The front portion 352 gradually narrows towards the front. Specifically, the size of the front portion 352 in the YZ plane gradually decreases towards the front. The rear portion 354 is the rear part of the receiving portion 35. The rear portion 354 has a cylindrical shape as a whole. Specifically, the rear portion 354 has a constant size in the YZ plane regardless of its position in the front-rear direction. The receiving portion 35 of this embodiment has the above-described structure. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the receiving portion 35 may only have the rear portion 354.

[0036] The receiving portion 35 of this embodiment includes a main portion 36 and four pressed portions (spring sheets) 37. The main portion 36 and the pressed portions 37 are each part of the rear portion 354. The main portion 36 has an annular portion 362. The annular portion 362 is circular in the YZ plane. The remaining portion of the main portion 36 extends rearward from the lower portion of the annular portion 362. The pressed portions 37 extend rearward from the upper portion of the annular portion 362. The rear portion 354 of this embodiment has the above-described structure. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the annular portion 362 can be provided as needed.

[0037] The main portion 36 has an inner surface 364. The inner surface 364 is the inner surface of the main portion 36 in the YZ plane and faces the through hole 31. The inner surface 364 of the main portion 36 extends along the front-rear direction on an imaginary cylindrical surface centered on the imaginary axis AX. The pressed portions 37 extend along the front-rear direction and have a front end 372 and a rear end 374. The front end 372 is connected to the rear edge of the annular portion 362 of the main portion 36. The pressed portions 37 each have an inclined surface 378. The inclined surfaces 378 face the through hole 31. The portion of each inclined surface 378 near the rear end 374 is inclined outward in the YZ plane. As can be seen from the above description, the through hole 31 of the receiving portion 35 in this embodiment extends rearward as a whole.

[0038] In this embodiment, five cuts 38 are formed on the main portion 36. Each cut 38 extends in the front-rear direction and penetrates the main portion 36 radially about the imaginary axis AX. The pressed portions 37 in this embodiment are spring sheets 37. Each pressed portion 37 is located between two adjacent cuts 38 in the circumferential direction about the imaginary axis AX. The pressed portions (spring sheets) 37 extend in the front-rear direction and are capable of elastic deformation with their rear end 374 as the free end.

[0039] Reference Figure 7 When the contact 30 is connected to the cable 70, before the crimping part 39 is crimped onto the cable 70, the front end 702 of the cable 70 is inserted into the through hole 31 of the contact 30 from the rear. Hereinafter, the contact 30 and the conductive part 40 will be described, and the insertion process of the front end 702 will be described.

[0040] Refer to together Figure 2 and Figure 5 In the following description, the cross-section through the YZ plane of the hole 31 will be referred to as the "hole cross-section," and the cross-section through the YZ plane of the cable 70 will be referred to as the "cable cross-section." The hole cross-section on the rear end 374 of the inclined surface 378 of the receiving portion 35 is larger than the cable cross-section near the front end of the outer conductor 76 of the cable 70. On the other hand, the hole cross-section on the front end 372 of the inclined surface 378 is smaller than the cable cross-section near the front end of the outer conductor 76 of the cable 70.

[0041] In this embodiment, the dimension of the reduced diameter portion 34 in the YZ plane is smaller than the dimension of the receiving portion 35 in the YZ plane. Specifically, the cross-sectional area of the hole on the reduced diameter portion 34 is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the hole on the front end 372 of the inclined surface 378. That is, the cross-sectional area of the hole on the reduced diameter portion 34 is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the cable near the front end of the outer conductor 76 of the cable 70. On the other hand, the cross-sectional area of the hole on the reduced diameter portion 34 is larger than the cross-sectional area of the cable on the inner dielectric 74 of the cable 70.

[0042] According to the above structure, the outer conductor 76 of the front end portion 702 can be inserted into the receiving portion 35, but cannot be inserted into the reduced diameter portion 34. On the other hand, the inner dielectric 74 and the inner conductor 72 of the front end portion 702 can pass through the reduced diameter portion 34 together with the inner contact 60 and be inserted into the through hole 31 of the connecting portion 32. That is, the reduced diameter portion 34 of this embodiment defines the front end of the receiving portion 35 that can accommodate the outer conductor 76. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the reduced diameter portion 34 can be provided as needed.

[0043] Specifically, when the front end 702 of the cable 70 is inserted into the through hole 31 from the rear, the outer conductor 76 of the front end 702 is guided by the inclined surface 378 of the pressed portion 37 of the receiving portion 35 and is received in the rear end of the receiving portion 35. If the front end 702 is further inserted, the outer conductor 76 causes the pressed portion 37 to elastically deform and move forward. At this time, each pressed portion 37 causes the rear end 374 to move outward in the YZ plane and elastically deform. If the front end 702 is further inserted, the front end of the outer conductor 76 abuts against the inner wall of the front side portion 352 of the receiving portion 35, ending the insertion of the front end 702. At this time, the inner conductor 72 of the front end 702 passes through the receiving portion 35 and is located inside the connecting portion 32.

[0044] As explained above, in the connected state, the receiving portion 35 partially accommodates the outer conductor 76. When the outer conductor 76 is accommodated by the receiving portion 35, each pressed portion 37, which has undergone elastic deformation, is pressed against the outer conductor 76 by restoring force. According to this embodiment, in the connected state, the front end of the outer conductor 76 is located in front of the front end of the cutout 38. With this configuration, the outer conductor 76 can be reliably connected to the receiving portion 35. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, in the connected state, the front end of the outer conductor 76 may also be located behind the front end of the cutout 38.

[0045] Reference Figure 5 and Figure 7According to this embodiment, when the outer conductor 76 of the cable 70 is inserted into the receiving portion 35, each pressed portion 37 undergoes elastic deformation and presses against the outer conductor 76. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, the cross-section of the hole on the front end 372 of the inclined surface 378 of the receiving portion 35 may be larger than the cross-section of the cable near the front end of the outer conductor 76. In this case, after the outer conductor 76 is received in the receiving portion 35, each pressed portion 37 may be plastically deformed toward the inward side in the YZ plane and pressed against the outer conductor 76.

[0046] Reference Figure 3 In this embodiment of the contact 30, each crimping tab 392 of the crimping portion 39 is separated from the receiving portion 35 and located behind the receiving portion 35. (See reference...) Figure 6 This structure facilitates the winding of the crimping tab 392 around the outer conductor 76 of the cable 70. However, when the crimping portion 39 is crimped onto the outer conductor 76, a gap GP will inevitably be generated in front of the crimping portion 39. According to this embodiment, a gap GP is generated between the crimping tab 392 and the receiving portion 35. When the gap GP is generated, the electromagnetic shielding performance (i.e., noise immunity) of the contact 30 may be degraded.

[0047] On the other hand, the contact 30 of this embodiment has a receiving portion 35 located in front of the crimping portion 39. The receiving portion 35 has two or more pressed portions 37. Each pressed portion 37 presses against the outer conductor 76 and makes reliable contact with the outer conductor 76, preventing the noise immunity performance of the contact 30 from deteriorating. That is, according to this embodiment, a contact 30 with stable noise immunity performance can be provided.

[0048] Reference Figure 2 and Figure 7 In this embodiment, the conductive member 40 has a receiving portion 42. The receiving portion 42 is located at the front end of the conductive member 40. The receiving portion 42 narrows towards the front. Specifically, the size of the receiving portion 42 in the YZ plane gradually decreases towards the front. As explained above, according to this embodiment, when the cable assembly 10 is assembled, a rearwardly folded-back portion 77 is formed on the outer conductor 76, and the conductive member 40 is located inside the YZ plane of the folded-back portion 77.

[0049] The outer conductor 76 of the cable 70 is inserted into the receiving portion 35 together with the conductive member 40 having the receiving portion 42. According to this embodiment, the conductive member 40 is provided with a receiving portion 42 that narrows at the front end, so that the outer conductor 76 can be smoothly inserted into the receiving portion 35. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the structure of the conductive member 40 can be modified as needed.

[0050] As described above, according to this embodiment, in the connected state, a rearwardly folded-back portion 77 is formed on the outer conductor 76, the conductive member 40 is located inside the YZ plane of the folded-back portion 77, the folded-back portion 77 is sandwiched between the crimping portion 39 and the conductive member 40, and the receiving portion 42 of the conductive member 40 and the folded-back portion 77 are received together by the receiving portion 35 of the contact 30.

[0051] Refer to together Figure 5 and Figure 7 In this embodiment, the pressed portions 37 have the same shape as each other. Furthermore, the pressed portions 37 are arranged at constant intervals in the circumferential direction centered on the imaginary axis AX. However, the invention is not limited to this. For example, the pressed portions 37 may have different shapes. Only two pressed portions 37 may be formed. These two pressed portions 37 may extend rearward from near the upper end of the annular portion 362. On the other hand, a plurality of pressed portions 37 may be formed integrally in the circumferential direction of the annular portion 362. By increasing the number of pressed portions 37, the contact 30 makes more reliable contact with the outer conductor 76 of the cable 70.

[0052] Reference Figure 6 In this embodiment, the front-rear dimension LC of each cutout 38 is at least half the front-rear dimension LR of the main portion 36. With this structure, the front-rear dimension of each pressed portion 37 can be increased, thereby improving the springiness of each pressed portion 37. Furthermore, regarding each cutout 38 in this embodiment, the front-rear dimension LC is proportional to the imaginary axis AX (refer to...). Figure 5 The circumferential dimension WC centered on the ) is large. According to this structure, the springiness of each pressed portion 37 can be improved, and the required number of pressed portions 37 can be formed. However, the present invention is not limited to this embodiment, and the structure of each cutout 38 can be modified as needed.

[0053] In addition to the various modifications already described, this embodiment can be modified in various ways. Hereinafter, modifications of the pressed part 37 will be described.

[0054] Will Figure 8 and Figure 6 In comparison, the cable assembly 10A of the first modified example includes: a connector 20A, which is different from the connector 20, and a cable 70, which is the same as the cable assembly 10. The connector 20A has the same structure as the connector 20, except that it has a contact 30A, which is different from the contact 30. The contact 30A has the same structure as the contact 30, except that it has a receiving portion 35A, which is different from the receiving portion 35.

[0055] Will Figure 9 and Figure 5In comparison, the receiving portion 35A has a main portion 36A different from the main portion 36, and instead of the pressed portion 37, it has four pressed portions (protrusions) 37A. The main portion 36A has an inner surface 364A different from the inner surface 364. Apart from the differences mentioned above, the receiving portion 35A has the same structure as the receiving portion 35.

[0056] Reference Figure 9 The main part 36A has an annular shape. The inner surface 364A of the main part 36A extends along the front-rear direction on an imaginary cylindrical surface. In this modified example, each pressed part 37A is a protrusion 37A. Each protrusion 37A protrudes inward from the inner surface 364A of the receiving part 35A in the YZ plane.

[0057] Reference Figure 8 and Figure 9 According to this modification, the outer conductor 76, including the folded-back portion 77, can be pressed into the receiving portion 35A. On the other hand, the portion of the main portion 36A with the pressed portion 37A can be open towards the outside of the YZ plane before the outer conductor 76 is inserted into the receiving portion 35A. In this case, the open portion can simply be closed after the outer conductor 76 is received in the receiving portion 35A. As a result, the outer conductor 76 is pressed against the pressed portion 37A. In each case, each pressed portion 37A is located outside the outer conductor 76 in the YZ plane in the connected state and is pressed by the outer conductor 76. According to this modification, a contact 30A with stable noise immunity can be provided.

[0058] In this modified example, the pressed portions 37A are only provided on the upper side of the inner surface 364A of the main portion 36A, and are arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction centered on the imaginary axis AX. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the number and arrangement of the pressed portions 37A can be modified as needed.

[0059] Will Figure 10 , Figure 12 as well as Figure 13 and Figure 6 In comparison, the cable assembly 10B of the second modification includes: a connector 20B, which is different from connector 20, and a cable 70, which is the same as cable assembly 10. Connector 20B has the same structure as connector 20, except that it has a contact 30B, which is different from contact 30. Contact 30B has the same structure as contact 30, except that it has a receiving portion 35B, which is different from receiving portion 35.

[0060] Will Figure 14 and Figure 5In comparison, the receiving portion 35B has a rear side portion 354B that differs from the rear side portion 354. The rear side portion 354B replaces the pressed portion 37 and has four pressed portions (spring sheets) 37B. Apart from the differences mentioned above, the receiving portion 35B has the same structure as the receiving portion 35.

[0061] Refer to together Figure 13 and Figure 5 Each pressed portion 37B is a spring sheet 37B. Each spring sheet 37B has the same structure as the spring sheet 37 and can elastically deform in the same way as the spring sheet 37. However, unlike the spring sheet 37, each spring sheet 37B is not connected to the cable 70 (see reference). Figure 10 In this state, it tilts inward toward the YZ plane and extends backward along the front-to-back direction. (Refer to...) Figure 11 When connected, each spring plate 37B also tilts inward toward the YZ plane and extends backward along the front-back direction.

[0062] Reference Figure 11 When the outer conductor 76, including the folded-back portion 77, is inserted into the receiving portion 35B, each pressed portion 37B is pressed against the outer conductor 76 and elastically deforms in a manner that expands outward toward the YZ plane. As a result, each pressed portion 37B is pressed more firmly against the outer conductor 76 than the pressed portion 37. That is, in the connected state, each pressed portion 37B is located outside the outer conductor 76 in the YZ plane and is pressed by the outer conductor 76. According to this modified example, a contact 30B with stable noise immunity can be provided.

[0063] The receiving portion 35B in this modified example can be modified in the same way as the receiving portion 35. Furthermore, in addition to the various modified examples already described, the above-described embodiment can be modified in various other ways. For example, refer to… Figure 5 and Figure 9 The receiving portion 35 may also have one or more spring sheets 37 and one or more protrusions 37A. In other words, at least one of the pressed portions 37 may be a spring sheet, and at least one of the pressed portions 37 may be a protrusion.
