Preparation and application methods of microbial consolidation agents for iron artifacts

Abstract

This invention provides a method for preparing a microbial consolidation agent for iron cultural relics, the microbial consolidation agent for iron cultural relics, and its application method. The method for preparing the microbial consolidation agent for iron cultural relics includes: step (i), adding an iron source to a culture medium to obtain a culture medium solution with an iron source concentration of 0.00125 mol / L–0.2 mol / L; step (ii), adjusting the pH of the culture medium solution to 5.5–8.5 using a pH adjusting solution; and step (iii), inoculating with microorganisms, and after shaking culture, obtaining the microbial consolidation agent for iron cultural relics. The iron source is any one or a combination of several of ferric chloride hexahydrate, ferric sulfate, amorphous hydrated ferric oxide, and ferric citrate; the microorganisms are any one or a combination of several of *Schloaminifera*, *Oryctolagus*, and *Shewanella*. According to this invention, it is possible to consolidate iron objects and improve their strength and structural stability.
