A method for the thermal catalytic coupling of 5-methylfurfural

Abstract

The application provides a thermal catalytic coupling method of 5-methylfurfural, and relates to the technical field of carbon chain extension. The method comprises the following steps: in a solvent, in a hydrogen atmosphere, under a thermal catalyst, the reaction temperature is controlled to be 80-160 DEG C, and 5-methylfurfural is reacted to generate a coupling product. The method provided by the application can catalyze the coupling of 5-methylfurfural under mild conditions, so as to generate a long carbon chain compound. The reaction process does not need to use an acid-alkali environment, the reaction rate is fast, the selectivity is high, and the obtained coupling product can be used as a fuel precursor and applied to the further synthesis of fuel.
