Abstract
Description
[0001] This application is a divisional application of Chinese invention application filed on March 15, 2021, with application number 202180001910X and title "Nose Mask and Related Filter".
[0002] Cross-reference to related applications
[0003] This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 63 / 151,476, filed February 19, 2021, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference for all purposes, and claims priority to Taiwan Patent Application No. 109204032, filed April 8, 2020; Taiwan Patent Application No. 109205023, filed April 27, 2020; and Taiwan Patent Application No. 109205024, filed April 27, 2020, the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference for all purposes. Background Technology
[0004] People use masks to filter harmful substances from the air, such as pollutants, allergens, and pathogens. However, ordinary face shields are large and require multiple straps, making the cost of materials, manufacturing, and transportation higher than necessary. Furthermore, because face shields cover half of the wearer's face, they not only affect the wearer's aesthetic and social perception but also hinder daily activities involving the mouth, such as giving instructions, commands, speeches, singing, performing arts, eating, or drinking. Masks can also cause glasses to fog up and lead to moisture buildup on the wearer's face. Current masks are also susceptible to the harmful effects of facial contours, making it difficult to achieve a good airtight seal during use. They are also loosely tied around the ears, causing them to frequently shift after initial placement, even if they were initially placed correctly on the wearer's face, resulting in reduced airtightness. Additionally, when people need to talk or eat, they often push the mask down to their chin or let it hang to the side, giving the mask the opportunity to wipe their face and become contaminated. In these situations, once the mask is put back in place, contaminants will almost certainly be inhaled because the mask now retains the contaminants within its internal airtight volume. Finally, wearing masks that are too tight, especially medical hard-shell masks, can leave dents or even bruises on the wearer's face, making them feel uncomfortable.
[0005] Some solutions to the aforementioned problems utilize nasal filters inserted into the wearer's nostrils. For example, patent document US2019374797A1 discloses a personal breathing device that incorporates a tubular component with filtering capabilities inside the user's nostrils to filter air entering the user's lungs. These methods improve portability and aesthetics. However, they are not suitable for prolonged wear due to their high invasiveness. Furthermore, because the filter is completely inserted into the nostril, the membrane near the nasal inlet is exposed to contaminants and pathogens. Therefore, this type of protective equipment is insufficient to completely prevent nasal exposure to harmful substances. Additionally, this type of protective equipment can interfere with breathing and is prone to dislodging or falling off completely when the wearer exhales.
[0006] Nasal dilators are an effective non-surgical treatment for nasal congestion, improving sleep and reducing nasal noise by dilating the nostrils. A nasal dilator typically consists of a pair of approximately cylindrical components. These cylinders are usually designed with a cross-section larger than the user's nostril diameter, and are generally connected by a connecting member to facilitate removal. Therefore, some nasal filters in the prior art are improvements based on such nasal dilators. For example, patent document WO2020022632A1 adds a filter between the connecting members of an existing nasal dilator to filter air. However, such nasal filters based on nasal dilators have inherent defects. The reason these filters can be securely fixed to the user's nose is that the pair of cylinders of the nasal dilator automatically adapt to the contour of the user's nostrils after insertion and expand the nostrils using the stress generated by their own deformation, fitting against the inner wall of the nostrils. During this fitting process, the nasal dilator is maintained in place by the friction between the cylinders and the inner wall of the nostrils. Therefore, such filters require a pair of cylindrical inserts into the user's nasal dilator as an essential technical feature. For example, patent document WO2020022632A1 and its related patent documents KR10-1112605, KR10-2010-0104766, and KR10-1273735 all include the inserts into the user's cylinder as an essential technical feature in their claimed solutions. One drawback of such filters is that they easily slip out of the user's nasal cavity; for example, patent document WO2020022632A1 mentions that the nasal dilator disclosed in patent document KR10-1112605 is prone to slipping out. To overcome this defect, patent document WO2020022632A1 adds anti-slip protrusions to its product, which can be seen, for example, in Figure 1 of its specification drawings. Figure 2The anti-slip protrusion conforms to the user's nasal septum to increase friction at the nasal septum. For example, patent document WO2020022632A1 mentions patent document KR10-2010-0104766, which uses a clamp-like clamping member to secure the nasal dilator by clamping it between the two noses on the nasal septum. However, if the nasal dilator is secured simply by increasing the clamping force of the connecting member, it inevitably leads to reduced friction between other parts of the cylinder and the nasal cavity, which in turn makes the nasal dilator prone to slipping out. Furthermore, the expansion / fitting effect of nasal dilators is related to the user's nasal cavity structure, which in turn is related to their own physiological factors and even their race. For example, Yang Xiuhai clearly mentioned in the 2003 issue of Foreign Medical Sciences (Otorhinolaryngology Section) that "Griffin et al. used acoustic reflex nasal manometry to find that dilators can significantly increase the cross-sectional area of the nasal valve area and reduce heart rate and oxygen consumption during activity. The therapeutic effect is better for Caucasians than for Black people, which may be related to the difference in nasal index (NI) between races. Caucasians have narrow and long noses, Black people have broad noses, and Asians are in between... People with low NI and high nasal base index can achieve better results by wearing external nasal dilators." Furthermore, it is particularly important to note that Yang Xiuhai's literature demonstrates that factors such as the user's allergic symptoms, history of nasal surgery, history of oral or topical use of decongestants, significant septal deviation or adhesion, and age can all affect the effectiveness of nasal dilators, and consequently, the effectiveness of nasal filters based on nasal dilators. For example, according to Yang Xiuhai's literature, "people with a small NI and a large nasal base index" can refer to people with a narrow nasal width, but for people with a wide nasal width, such as Black people, the dilation / fixation effect of the nasal dilator will inevitably decrease. Additionally, a strong foreign body sensation is a common problem with these types of nasal filters based on nasal dilators. For instance, patent literature WO2020022632A1 mentions that the cylindrical shape in patent literature KR10-2010-0104766 did not take into account the shape of the nasal cavity, thus resulting in a significant foreign body sensation and poor fit. This foreign body sensation originates from the fit between the cylinder inserted into the user's nostril and the nasal cavity wall. Because this type of filter relies on the fit between the cylinder and the nasal cavity wall, the foreign body sensation is inherent and can only be alleviated, not completely eliminated. Therefore, some existing technologies propose the use of non-invasive nasal filters. For example, patent document US2005161046A1 discloses a personal air purifier that is attached to the user's nose entirely by using an adhesive to bond it to the user's skin. However, the human nose has an extremely complex spatial structure; its nasal wings function as a protruding saddle, but the connection between the nasal wings and the face is a recessed area; furthermore, the nostrils are approximately perpendicular to the plane of the top of the nasal wings.Obviously, if a pure adhesive is used in conjunction with bonding materials such as bandages to attach the filter to a person's nose, some areas will inevitably not be completely covered, resulting in poor adhesion. Patent document CN212233235U proposes to provide a left and right nostril strip, with hooks on both sides of the user's nostrils extending into the user's nostrils and hooking them in place, thereby fixing the nasal mask to the user's nose. At the same time, in order to increase the fit of the nasal mask to the user's nose, the nasal mask also needs to have an adhesive layer on the bridge of the nose to bond the nasal mask to the user's nose bridge. Obviously, this still does not eliminate the shortcomings of poor adhesion and easy slippage of the nasal mask, because the fluid inside the nasal cavity reduces the friction between the hooks and the nasal wall, making the nasal mask easy to slip off; in addition, the adhesive layer on the bridge of the nose is shaped like the pleats on the bridge of a mask. As those skilled in the art would know, if adult masks are used on children or adolescents, the size of the pleats on the mask is very likely to be much larger than the width of the child's or adolescent's nose because the child's or adolescent's body has not yet fully developed, making the mask unable to fit the child or adolescent; similarly, the adhesive layer of the nose bridge part of the nose mask also has the same problem. [0036] This document discloses in detail nasal masks and related filters according to the above-described invention. The nasal masks and filters disclosed in this section are non-limiting embodiments of the invention, provided for illustrative purposes only, and should not be used to limit the full scope of the invention. It should be understood that the disclosed embodiments may or may not overlap. Therefore, a portion of an embodiment or a specific embodiment thereof may or may not fall within the scope of another embodiment or a specific embodiment thereof, and vice versa. Different embodiments from different aspects may be combined or practiced individually. Many different combinations and sub-combinations of representative embodiments shown within the broad framework of the invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art, but are not explicitly shown or described and should not be construed as exclusions.
[0037] In specific embodiments, the disclosed nasal mask exhibits significant benefits. The nasal mask is small and lightweight, highly secure, and maintains the aesthetics and convenience of the uncovered face. Therefore, in specific embodiments, the nasal mask disclosed herein can be worn even during everyday activities such as eating, singing, talking, sleeping, and visiting the dentist. Thus, the nasal mask is highly appealing to individuals who need to use their mouths in public, such as restaurant patrons and dental patients, and those who need to give clear verbal commands, such as military officers, public speakers, choir singers, and other performers. Furthermore, in specific embodiments, the nasal mask filters air inhaled into the nasal cavity while keeping the nasal cavity moist, thereby improving protection of the respiratory tract. Additionally, in specific embodiments, the nasal mask does not interfere with facial recognition, making it easier to pass through customs, border crossings, obtain permits or ID cards by photography, log in using biometric facial recognition, or be recognized by old friends on the street.
[0038] Specifically referring to nasal masks designed to prevent the inhalation of pathogens, the nasal cavity is a primary initial site of lung infection. Therefore, nasal masks that protect the nasal cavity and treatment strategies such as nasal irrigation or antiviral / antibacterial nasal sprays can significantly reduce the infection rate of upper respiratory tract infections. Meanwhile, nasal filters that are completely placed inside the nostrils exhibit relative disadvantages compared to the specific nasal masks disclosed herein, as the nasal masks disclosed herein allow the nasal cavity to remain moist and thus are less likely to become an initial site of infection.
[0039] In specific embodiments, the disclosed nasal filter exhibits significant benefits. For example, in specific embodiments of the invention, the disclosed nasal mask utilizes a replaceable filter to improve the hygienic practicality of the mask and its usability. Additionally, in specific embodiments of the invention, the nasal mask is significantly smaller than a standard face mask, which reduces the environmental impact and transportation costs compared to alternative options. These benefits are even more pronounced if the only part of the mask that is discarded is a small filter that barely covers the front of the wearer's nose.
[0040] The disclosed nasal mask may include a nasal septum retainer. The nasal septum retainer can be any structure capable of being secured to the wearer's nasal septum. The nasal septum retainer can be used to avoid interfering with facial movement and maintain the aesthetic appearance of a person not wearing a mask. The nasal septum retainer may include a retainer for securing the nasal mask filter to the nasal septum retainer. The nasal septum retainer may be a clamping body. The clamping body may have two arms that curve backward toward each other to form an arc and a front middle section having a retainer perpendicular to the two arms. The retainer may be a retaining pin and for attachment to the nasal filter as described below. The two arms of the clamping body may be a right clamping arm and a left clamping arm. The right and left clamping arms may be angled arcs to provide elasticity to the clamping body. The material of the clamping body may be elastic to comfortably fit the wearer's septum. In a specific embodiment, the clamping body also has protrusions, such as pads, contours, or other shapes, located at the ends of the two arms to prevent slippage, increase friction, and reduce pressure at the contact surfaces to provide a comfortable fit.
[0041] The disclosed nasal mask may include a retainer. The retainer may be configured to secure the nasal filter to a nasal septum retainer. The retainer may be a cantilever, protrusion, platform, or needle configured to attach to the nasal filter. The retainer may be configured to attach to a pouch on the nasal filter (e.g., a tube with openings on both sides or a pouch with an opening on one side) (e.g., extending into the pouch via a cantilever). The retainer may be located at the front middle section of the nasal septum retainer. The retainer may be a cantilever extending from the main arc or other main plane of the nasal septum retainer, depending on the shape of the nasal septum retainer. The retainer may be used to increase the fixation of the nasal filter covering the wearer's nostril opening. By assembling and removing the nasal mask filter from the nasal septum retainer, the wearer can freely and easily detach and assemble the nasal mask. The retainer may alternatively include any fastening device, such as a button, snap, hook and loop, or adhesive. The fastening device may be configured to attach to a corresponding device on the nasal filter. In alternative embodiments, the nasal septum retainer may be used in conjunction with other face masks if necessary. In alternative embodiments, the component described as being located on the nasal septum retainer and serving as a retainer can be switched with a component described as being located on the filter and serving to be secured by the retainer. For example, the filter may include an attached cantilever extension, and the nasal septum retainer may include a pouch for receiving the cantilever.
[0042] The retainer can be configured relative to the nasal septum retainer. In the specific embodiments described above, the retainer may extend perpendicular to and away from the main plane of the nasal septum retainer. Therefore, the volume required for packaging and transporting the combined retainer and nasal septum retainer may not need to be large. To avoid this problem, and to reduce the overall cost of the mass distribution of the nasal masks disclosed herein, and to increase the convenience for individual wearers to carry the nasal masks disclosed herein, the retainer may be configurable relative to the nasal septum retainer to reduce the size of the combined device. For example, the retainer may be detachably attached to the nasal septum retainer, or it may be rotatable relative to the nasal septum retainer. One example of a detachably attached retainer would have a shaped connector for forming a frictional or negative-clearance mechanical engagement with a corresponding construction on the nasal septum retainer. The shaped connector may include an extension, a grippable tension connector, a screw head, or a mechanically keyed arrangement to snap, screw, or otherwise connect the retainer to the nasal septum retainer. In these examples, the combined nasal septum retainer and retainer can be transported as separate components and then connected when the nasal mask is ready for use. As another example, the retainer can be attached to the nasal septum retainer using a rotatable connector, such that the retainer can be folded outwards and away from the main plane of the nasal septum retainer when the device is ready for use. The rotatable connector can be a one-way rotatable connector or a one-way biased rotatable connector, which will snap or otherwise adhere to the open position after the connector is opened. Using these methods, the entire nasal mask can be kept in a low position during transport, but also demonstrates the benefits of the embodiments of the invention disclosed herein.
[0043] The disclosed nasal mask can be associated with a nasal filter. The filter can be a replaceable filter. The filter may include filter elements for capturing airborne contaminants, allergens, and pathogens as air flows through the filter elements, thus filtering the air flowing through the filter. The filter can be configured to cover both nostrils and the skin around and above the nostrils. Specific embodiments of the invention relate to a nasal mask filter characterized by small size, low interference, and high stability. The nasal mask filter is designed to be both discreet and practical, which increases continuous use time, thus greatly increasing people's willingness to use it. The nasal mask filter can be easily replaced to maintain hygiene. Due to its small size, it reduces waste of filter material and is easy to carry. If needed, the nasal mask filter can be used alone or in combination with other masks. For example, the filter can be used in combination with a full-face mask that covers both the nose and mouth.
[0044] A nasal mask filter can be configured to be secured to an associated nasal septum retainer. The nasal mask filter can be configured to attach to a retainer of the associated nasal septum retainer. The nasal mask filter may have a pouch configured to attach to the retainer. The pouch may be located in the middle portion of the filter. The pouch may open at one or both ends like a tube. The pouch can be of various shapes and specifically designed to accommodate and protect the retainer. For example, the pouch may be a tubular pouch configured to wrap around a needle or cantilever on the nasal septum retainer. In a particular embodiment, the pouch may include a seal that must be punctured to accommodate the retainer. This feature allows the wearer to quickly distinguish between used and potentially contaminated filters and unused filters. In a particular embodiment, the seal can be punctured by tearing it from the opening of the pouch. In a particular embodiment, the seal can be punctured by the retainer when the nasal mask filter is attached to the retainer. In a specific embodiment, the nasal mask filter may also include an air vent, such as a one-way air vent, to prevent the filter from being stressed during exhalation, ensuring that the filter remains in place and seals against the wearer's skin.
[0045] In specific embodiments, the nasal mask filter may exhibit one or more features to enhance the airtightness of the seal formed between the wearer's skin and the filter. As an example of such a feature, the outer edge of the filter may include a skin adhesive to enhance the fixation of the nasal mask filter on the wearer's nose. In specific embodiments, the adhesive component may be located on the outer boundary of the filter element. As another example of such a feature, the filter may include a wire edge on a portion of the outer boundary of the filter element or along the entire outer boundary of the filter element. After the filter is applied to the wearer's nose, the wire edge may be compressed to form a strong seal with the wearer's nose. As another example of such a feature, the filter may include slits, such as one or more radial slits formed by folding the outer edge of the filter. Slits may allow the outer edge of the filter to bend more easily to accommodate noses of different sizes. Slits may be perforated and separated to accommodate noses with sharper angles, while remaining unseparated to provide a more consistent material plane for noses with smoother angles, without requiring additional flexibility in specific locations.
[0046] refer to Figure 1A and Figure 1BThese are perspective and side views of a nasal mask according to an embodiment of the present invention. The nasal mask 1 of the embodiment shown in the present invention includes a nasal septum retainer and a nasal mask filter. The filter includes a filter element 20. The nasal septum retainer includes a clamping body having an anterior intermediate section 11, and two clamping arms 12 and 13 that curve inward and extend from both ends of the anterior intermediate section 11. The nasal septum retainer also includes a needle-shaped retainer 14 formed by the anterior wall of the anterior intermediate section 11. The two clamping arms are a right clamping arm 12 and a left clamping arm 13. The inner wall of the anterior intermediate section 11 and the side walls facing the right clamping arm 12 and the left clamping arm 13 are configured to clamp onto the front end of the user's nasal septum to securely hold the nasal mask 1 on the tip of the user's nose.
[0047] The filter 20 of the present invention can be an integral filter having multiple portions or multiple independent portions attached together. The filter can be a single continuous sheet to cover both nostrils, with no perforations from sewing or other manufacturing processes within the filtering plane, within which the nasal mask will be used for filtering. As another example, the filter may include a central portion and two filter portions extending from both sides of the central portion. The central portion can be adapted to be anchored by a retainer 14, allowing the holder and filter 20 to be attached or detached. The filter can completely cover both of the user's nostrils and surrounding skin, filtering the air inhaled by the user. In a specific embodiment of the invention, the first filter portion is shaped to cover the front end of the nose, without any perforations within the nostrils. A pouch or other structure can be attached to the filter so that it can be attached to a retainer near the nasal septum. Thus, the nasal mask filter can cover part or all of the front end of the nose.
[0048] In a specific embodiment of the invention, the nasal mask 1 may further include a skin-adhesive component 30, which may be located at the outer edge of the filter 20 to enhance the fixation of the nasal mask 1 on the user's nose. The filter and the skin-adhesive component may be configured to form an airtight seal with the nose along the outer edge and to filter all air inhaled through the nose. The skin-adhesive component 30 may be a material and / or element commonly used by those skilled in the art when bonding objects to the skin surface, and may be, but is not limited to, artificial leather, breathable tape, seamless tape, self-adhesive bandages, water-activated adhesive paste, etc.
[0049] exist Figure 1BThe example shows the middle portion of filter 20, including a downward-opening pouch 21. In this example, the retainer 14 is an upward-facing structure in the form of a needle. The pouch 21 can accommodate the retaining needle 14, allowing the pouch and filter 20 to be anchored by the needle. Other configurations can also be used to retain the filter by the retaining needle. For example, the retaining needle can be placed face down or vertically, allowing it to be attached to the filter through upper or side openings. The retainer may include one or more tips. Tips can be used to provide additional strength to the connection between the nasal filter and the retainer.
[0050] In a specific embodiment of the present invention, the retaining pin 14 of the clamping body can be made of a stretchable material, allowing the user to adjust the angle of the retaining pin 14 according to usage needs. The retaining pin 14 can be, but is not limited to, a single upward bending structure, a single downward bending structure, or two structures bending to the left and right respectively.
[0051] In a specific embodiment of the invention, the pouch 21 includes at least one opening for receiving the retaining needle 14, and said at least one opening may have a seal. When a user wants to use the filter, the user can first open the seal before attaching the filter to the retaining needle. Alternatively, the seal may be pierced by the retaining needle itself when the filter is attached thereto. The seal is advantageous because it makes it easier for the user to determine whether the filter has been used. If it is open, it is very likely that it has already been used.
[0052] See Figure 2 In one embodiment of the invention, the right clamping arm 12 and the left clamping arm 13 are arc-shaped and inclined to opposite sides to provide elasticity to the clamping body. This allows for a better fit to the front of the user's nasal septum. In a specific embodiment of the invention, the pair of clamping arms form an arc with a maximum width of less than 50 cm. It should be noted that the septum of most people does not vary significantly, allowing an elastic and potentially magnetized nasal septum retainer to fit almost universally without causing severe discomfort to the wearer. However, the size of human nostrils can vary considerably. Therefore, it is important to minimize the width or lateral extension of the nasal septum retainer, as this would impede the free flow of air from the user's nose and be counterproductive, as the wearer would not be able to breathe fully through their nose. In another specific embodiment of the invention, the pair of clamping arms are elastic. In yet another specific embodiment of the invention, the pair of clamping arms have an expanding spiral shape.
[0053] In embodiments of the invention, the clamp is made of a flexible and washable material, allowing it to be reused to reduce waste of consumables. For example, the nasal septum retainer, in whole or in part, can be reusable, allowing multiple filters to be used while holding the same nasal septum retainer.
[0054] In embodiments of the invention, the clamping body may further include one or more protrusions 15. These may be located at the distal ends of the right clamping arm 12 and the left clamping arm 13, respectively, to increase the contact area, reduce pressure, and simultaneously increase the friction of the contact surfaces, which allows the clamping body to be more securely held on the user's nose. The protrusions 15 may have various functions, such as achieving a more comfortable fit by reducing pressure or covering rough surfaces in the contact area. The protrusions 15 may also serve as anti-fall or anti-slip pads. The material of the protrusions may be, but is not limited to, silicone, rubber, plastic, etc. In specific embodiments of the invention, the material of the protrusions 15 is non-irritating and does not absorb moisture.
[0055] The anti-dislodgement function of the clamping body can also be achieved by changing the shape of the two clamping arms, making it easier for the two clamping arms to remain in the nostrils. For example, the clamping arms can be shaped into a Z-shape or a spiral shape, making them less likely to slide downwards. The nostrils can also be enlarged using magnets or by using a shaped clamping body to construct an anti-dislodgement mechanism. The protrusions 15 can include magnets, allowing them to attract each other through the septum and remain fixed. This configuration can also help enlarge the nostrils, thereby promoting smoother breathing. A similar effect can be achieved by providing a clamping body shaped to expand the nostrils.
[0056] In a specific embodiment of the invention, the nasal septum retainer 1, or at least the clip portion, may be a nasal clip to reduce snoring. As described above, certain configurations can help widen the nostrils and facilitate breathing, thereby reducing snoring. The nasal septum retainer or clip of the present invention can be worn alone or in combination with a filter for different purposes.
[0057] Filter 20 can be a single layer or multiple layers of suitable material. The material can be selected according to the intended use and level of protection of the nasal mask. Filter 20 may contain at least one layer of fabric. For example, filter 20 may contain at least one layer of meltblown nonwoven fabric. The fabric can be any fabric that a person skilled in the art of the invention would consider capable of filtering contaminants, viruses, dust, oil, suspended particles, droplets, and other harmful substances, such as those published in the United States: N100, N99, N95, R100, R99, R95, P100, P99, P95, or any other filter material, including fabric materials as defined in the Mask Filter Material Classification Standard Specification.
[0058] In embodiments of the invention, the nasal septum retainer, clamp, filter 20, and / or skin-adhesive component 30 may be transparent or close to skin color, making the nasal mask 1 less noticeable and more attractive. However, other designs are also perfectly acceptable. The nasal mask can be any color or shape and can be customized. Since the filter is replaceable, users can use multiple models by attaching filters of different colors or shapes to the nasal septum retainer. In a similar manner, the nasal septum retainer can have various colors and shapes, for example, to distinguish the nasal septum retainers of different users living under the same roof.
[0059] The protrusion 15 can be fixed or replaceable. For example, a protrusion can be replaced when it wears down. Protrusions 15 in various sizes and shapes can be provided to fit different types of noses and users. For example, if a user prefers a tighter fit, they can decide to use a protrusion with more padding. As another example, the protrusion can serve as an extension of the clamp and be made of the same material.
[0060] Now refer to Figure 3 , Figure 3 Specific embodiments of how a wearer can use the invention are illustrated. When the nose mask of the invention, including the nasal septum clip and filter, is used together, the user can: 1) open the filter seal, if present, and anchor the filter to the retaining pin in the clip of the nasal septum retainer; 2) place the clip at the front end of the nasal septum, with a clip arm in each nostril, and push the assembly unit toward the nose; 3) press the edge of the filter against the skin around the nostrils and adhere the skin adhesive component 30, if present, to the skin. This allows the unit to cover the entire front end of the nose and provide filtration for all air intake through the nose. Alternatively, the user can first place the clip in the nose and then attach the filter to the nose. Thus, the method of wearing the nose mask 1 of the invention is intuitive and easy to operate. Once the nose mask is worn, if the anchoring clip and adhesive component are provided, it will be worn correctly and securely, thus providing continuous protection for the user.
[0061] In a specific embodiment of the invention, the nose mask may have slits, allowing the filter to be formed into various shapes to better fit the user's nose. (See also: [link to previous section]) Figure 1A Slits 31 are an example of this feature. They can be separated by the user to increase the filter's flexibility for pointed noses or kept in place to provide a better seal for more curved noses.
[0062] Nasal septum clip
[0063] Specific embodiments of the present invention relate to a nasal septum retainer. The nasal septum retainer can be the nasal septum retainer of the nasal mask 1 described above with reference to Figures 1-3. The nasal septum retainer may include a retainer. The retainer may be positioned in the front middle section for freely attaching and detaching the nasal mask filter to increase the stability of the nasal mask filter covering the user's two nostril openings. The nasal septum retainer reduces interference with facial movements and maintains an aesthetically pleasing appearance. When needed, the nasal septum retainer can be used in conjunction with other masks. This design of the nasal septum clip can increase the continuous use time of the mask and greatly increase public willingness to use it.
[0064] A specific embodiment of the present invention provides a nasal septum retainer comprising a clamping body having an anterior middle section and two clamping arms that bend inward and extend from both ends of the anterior middle section. These clamping arms can reach into the user's nostrils and clamp onto both sides of the nasal septum. The anterior middle section may have retaining features, such as retaining pins, which may be, for example, perpendicular to the arms. The retaining pins can be used to anchor the nasal mask filter to remain in place covering the user's nostrils and surrounding skin, as described above with respect to the nasal mask of Figures 1-3.
[0065] In a specific embodiment of the invention, the two clamping arms of the clamping body are a right clamping arm and a left clamping arm that are formed in an arc shape. In another specific embodiment of the invention, the right clamping arm and the left clamping arm are inclined arc or U-shaped to provide elasticity.
[0066] In a specific embodiment of the invention, the clamping body further includes one or more protrusions, which may be located at the ends of the two clamping arms respectively. The protrusions may be the same as or similar to the protrusions for the nose mask 1 described above with reference to FIG1-3. The protrusions may be anti-slip pads. The anti-slip mechanism can also be implemented by changing the shape of the clamping arms to keep them within the nasal cavity without slipping.
[0067] In a specific embodiment of the invention, the nasal septum retainer is adaptable, such that the nasal mask filter can be replaced with a face mask or oronasal mask or any other face mask having a pouch for receiving the retaining needle.
[0068] In a specific embodiment of the invention, the nasal septum retainer includes a retainer such as a retaining pin. This configuration provides anchoring for the nasal mask filter. The filter can be easily installed and removed. The retainer allows the nasal mask filter to remain securely covering the openings of both of the user's nostrils. This improves the stability, fit, and efficiency of the filter. It also reduces interference with facial functions and enhances aesthetics. This system can be used with or without other masks. Because it does not interfere with other facial functions, people do not need to remove it as frequently as when using other types of masks. This can significantly increase continuous protection for the public.
[0069] Now for reference Figure 4, Figure 4 This is a three-dimensional view of a nasal septum retainer 100 according to a specific embodiment of the present invention. The nasal septum retainer 100 includes an anterior intermediate section 110 and two clamping arms (120 and 130, respectively) that curve inward from both ends of the anterior intermediate section 110. The anterior intermediate section 110 may include a retainer, such as a retaining pin 140 on the anterior wall of the anterior intermediate section 110. The clamping body may be the same as or similar to the clamping body for a nasal mask 1 described with reference to Figures 1-3. The anterior intermediate section 110 may be the same as or similar to the anterior intermediate section 11 for a nasal mask 1 described with reference to Figures 1-3. Arms 120 and 130 may be the same as or similar to arms 12 and 13 for a nasal mask 1 described with reference to Figures 1-3. Pin 140 may be the same as or similar to pin 14 described with reference to Figures 1-4.
[0070] The needle 140 can be constructed separately or as a single unit or an extension of a nose clip. Thus, the needle 140 and the clamping body of the nasal septum retainer 100 can be made of the same or different materials. The needle and clamping body can be separate parts, and they can be attached together in various ways, such as by welding, adhesives, screws, interlocking mechanisms, etc. The needle can be supplied separately, allowing the user to use the clamping body alone for other purposes, such as reducing snoring, and to attach the needle to it for other purposes, such as wearing a filter. In this way, the needle can be a separate structure, permanently attached to the clamping body or detachably attached to the clamping body, allowing the clamping body to be used with or without the needle. Alternatively, the needle and clamping body can be formed as a single structure. For example, the needle and clamping body can be molded together by the manufacturer, or they can be two separate parts combined by a fusion process. In a specific embodiment of the invention, the clamping body can be provided with a specially configured structure for receiving the needle.
[0071] The two clamping arms can be a right clamping arm 120 and a left clamping arm 130. They can reach inside the user's nostrils. The inner walls of the anterior middle section 110 and the clamping arms 120, 130 can be shaped to surround the anterior part of the user's nasal septum.
[0072] Now refer to Figure 5A . Figure 5A This is a three-dimensional view of a nasal mask according to a specific embodiment of the present invention, the nasal mask including a nasal mask filter 200 attached to a nasal septum retainer 100. A retaining pin 140 of the nasal septum retainer 100 of the present invention is used to mount the nasal mask filter 200 to stably cover both nostrils of the user. The nasal mask filter 200 can be replaced at any time as needed by the user. The nasal mask filter 200 may be the same as or similar to the filter for nasal mask 1 described with reference to Figures 1-3, and may include a filter element, such as filter element 20, and an outer edge, such as portion 30.
[0073] Figure 5Byes Figure 5A A side view of the nasal mask. In this example, the front center portion of the nasal mask filter 200 is a downward-opening pouch 210. The pouch 210 may be the same as or similar to the pouch 21 for the nasal mask 1 described with reference to Figures 1-3. The retaining needle 140 is an upward-pointing structure, and the pouch 210 has space to receive the retaining needle 140. Alternatively, the pouch 210 may be a tubular structure that is open at both ends or at the top if the needle faces downward. Several configurations are possible, such that the retaining needle 140 may be attached to or received within at least a portion of the filter 200.
[0074] In a specific embodiment of the invention, the retaining pin 140 of the nasal septum retainer 100 may be made of a stretchable material, allowing the user to adjust the angle of the retaining pin 140. Furthermore, the retaining pin 140 may be, but is not limited to, a single upward-curving structure, a single downward-curving structure, or two structures bending to the left and right, etc. The shape, length, and width of the retaining pin 140 may be manufactured according to the intended use. For example, to increase the clamping area with the nasal mask filter 200, the retaining pin 140 may be flat and long. The length of the retaining pin may be determined according to the size of the filter or the user type. For example, if the user is a child, the pin may be smaller. The shape of the pin may be as shown or different. For example, the pin may be a curved pin or may have an irregular shape to fit a pouch designed for such an irregular shape. The tip of the pin may have a special shape or be covered with a special material so that it does not cut, break, or weaken the part of the filter that it contacts. The tip of the pin may also be shaped to pierce the seal of the filter.
[0075] Figure 6 yes Figure 5A A top view of the nasal mask. In a specific embodiment of the invention, the right clamping arm 120 and the left clamping arm 130 are inclined to opposite sides to form an arcuate clamping body. The clamping body can be flexible and can comfortably fit and remain at the front end of the user's nasal septum.
[0076] In a specific embodiment of the invention, the nasal septum retainer 100 may be made of a flexible and washable material, making it reusable and reducing waste of consumables.
[0077] In a specific embodiment of the invention, the nasal septum retainer 100 further includes two protrusions 150. The protrusions 150 may be the same as or similar to the protrusions 15 disclosed with reference to FIG1-3 for a nose mask 1. The protrusions 150 may be anti-slip pads 150. The protrusions 150 may be located at the ends of the right clamping arm 120 and the left clamping arm 130, respectively. They can be used to increase the friction of the contact surfaces, so that the clamp is more firmly held on the front of the user's nose. The protrusions 150 may be made of materials known in the art, such as conventionally used anti-slip materials. The materials may be, but are not limited to, magnetic materials, silicone, rubber, plastics, etc. In a specific embodiment of the invention, the material has low irritation and low sensitivity. The protrusions 150 may have a special shape or form to prevent the clamp from slipping off the nose.
[0078] As previously explained in this disclosure, when the anti-fall mechanism is specifically constructed of a magnet, or when it is shaped to enlarge the nostrils, it can promote smooth breathing. In those embodiments, the nasal septum retainer 100 can be used as a nose clip to reduce snoring.
[0079] In a specific embodiment of the invention, the nasal septum retainer 100 can be transparent or close to the color of skin, making it less noticeable and more aesthetically pleasing. However, it can be designed and colored according to market demand. For example, for people who enjoy entertainment, it can be designed and colored to resemble a nose.
[0080] Figure 7 yes Figure 5A The diagram illustrates how the nasal mask is used by the wearer. As explained in Figures 1-3 for nasal mask 1, the nasal septum retainer 100 can anchor the nasal mask filter 200 via retaining pins 140. The user can refer to... Figure 3 The instructions are to use it in the same or similar manner, for example by: 1) opening the seal in the filter, and if provided, anchoring the filter to the retaining pin at the center of the clamp; 2) placing the clamp at the front end of the nasal septum, with one clamping arm in each nostril, and pushing the assembly unit toward the nose; 3) pressing the edge of the filter against the skin around the nostrils and adhering the skin-adhesive component, if provided, to the skin. See reference... Figure 3 As explained, a nasal septum retainer can also be placed first, and then a filter can be attached to it.
[0081] In a specific embodiment of the invention, the nasal septum retainer 100 includes a retainer such as a retaining pin 140, which anchors the nasal mask filter in the correct position and facilitates the assembly and disassembly of the nasal mask filter. It also ensures proper mask wearing and extends the wearing time.
