The invention provides an information collection and analysis method and system based on big data. The method comprises the following steps: automatically identifying and capturing related data of a multivariate heterogeneous data source; performing real-time streaming processing on the related data, and constructing an information atlas according to the time sequence characteristics of the related data and event relevance; performing importance evaluation on nodes in the information atlas by using a graph theory algorithm and a machine learning technology to obtain node importance scores, and determining key information nodes and potential information islands in the information atlas based on the node importance scores; based on the importance scores of the key information nodes and the nodes of the potential information islands, optimizing a current information retrieval strategy to obtain an optimized information retrieval strategy; and according to the optimized information retrieval strategy, adjusting selection and priority ranking of the multivariate heterogeneous data sources, and feeding back to the information collection engine. According to the technical scheme provided by the invention, the efficiency, precision and intelligent level of information collection and processing are improved.
