The invention belongs to the technical field of plastics, and discloses a low-odor high-toughness polypropylene composition and a preparation method thereof, the composition contains homo-polypropylene powder, octa-isobutyl silsesquioxane, a nucleating agent and an antioxidant; in parts by weight, the content of the homo-polypropylene powder is 90 to 97 parts, and the content of the octa-isobutyl silsesquioxane is 3 to 10 parts; on the basis that the total content of the homo-polypropylene powder and the octa-isobutyl silsesquioxane is 100 parts by weight, the content of the nucleating agent is 0.05-0.8 part by weight, and the content of the oxidizing agent is 0.05-1 part by weight. The odor of the composition can be obviously reduced, and the elongation at break is greatly improved to 100-300% from less than 20%.
