Snapshot data block processing method and system

Abstract

The invention provides a snapshot data block processing method and system, and the method comprises the steps: receiving first input information which comprises an operation instruction for adjusting the size of a snapshot data block; in response to the first input information, an initial second bitmap is generated according to data block adjustment information corresponding to the snapshot data block and a first bitmap, and the first bitmap is a bitmap of the source volume corresponding to the snapshot before the size of the snapshot data block is adjusted; updating the mark information corresponding to the data block state in the initial second bitmap according to the mark information corresponding to the data block state in the source volume in the first bitmap, and obtaining the updated second bitmap after determining that the mark information corresponding to each bit of data block state in the initial second bitmap is updated, and the size adjustment processing of the snapshot data block is completed. According to the method, the size of the snapshot data block is modified, and the influence of the snapshot on the system performance and the occupation of memory resources are reduced.
