The invention relates to the technical field of cable detection equipment, in particular to new energy special cable surface defect intelligent detection equipment which comprises a detection table, a conveying assembly and a detection assembly, the detection assembly comprises a detection box, an imaging component, an industrial personal computer and a displayer, the detection box is detachably connected with the detection table, and the imaging component is located in the detection box; the industrial personal computer is connected with the imaging component, and the display is connected with the industrial personal computer. The conveying assembly conveys a cable into the detection box, the imaging component shoots image data of the surface of the cable, the image data are uploaded to the industrial personal computer for data processing and analysis, defects of the surface of the cable are recognized and classified, if the defects exceed a threshold value, related personnel are informed, and the defect data and images are displayed through the displayer. Therefore, the detection efficiency and the detection effect are improved, the appearance of the cable is not affected, and the normal performance of the cable is guaranteed.
