Descriptor efficient management mechanism system and design method

Abstract

The invention provides a descriptor efficient management mechanism system and a design method. The descriptor efficient management mechanism system comprises the following steps: establishing a descriptor ring, establishing a descriptor queue, pre-fetching effective idle descriptors from the descriptor ring to the descriptor queue, and writing updated and configured descriptors back to the descriptor ring from the descriptor queue. Meanwhile, the state information of the descriptor queue is additionally arranged in the descriptor data structure, so that a software driver can dynamically acquire related information, the descriptors are timely and efficiently pre-fetched into the descriptor queue from the descriptor ring, and the data transmission efficiency is improved; through batch write-back of the descriptors subjected to configuration updating, the system bandwidth occupied by write-back of the descriptors is effectively reduced, and the data transmission efficiency is improved.
