The invention discloses a packet loss method and device, a terminal and network side equipment, and belongs to the technical field of communication, and the packet loss method comprises the steps that under a first condition, the terminal carries out packet loss according to the importance PSI of a data packet; wherein the first condition comprises at least one of the following conditions: meeting a preset condition, and the preset condition comprises at least one of the following conditions: the size of a system resource is smaller than the size of a preset resource, a system conflicts or is congested, a channel conflicts or is congested, and a channel condition does not meet a preset channel condition; receiving first indication information sent by network side equipment, wherein the first indication information comprises at least one of network congestion related information and PSI related information; and obtaining first information configured by the network side device, wherein the first information is used for indicating at least one of the following items: packet loss based on PSI, packet loss based on congestion, and packet loss based on the preset condition.
