An optical wireless communication system and method based on multi-core optical fiber

Abstract

This application relates to a multi-core optical fiber-based optical wireless communication system and method, belonging to the field of optical wireless communication technology. The multi-core optical fiber-based optical wireless communication system includes: a communication control center, whose input end is connected to a multi-core optical fiber for receiving wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) signals, and whose output end is used to distribute the WDM signals to multiple different areas; multiple base stations, each located within an area, each base station equipped with a spatial light modulator for deflecting multiple optical signals projected from the multi-core optical fiber to project them to different spatial locations; and multiple receivers for receiving and converting the optical signals projected by the base stations. This application can improve the transmission capacity of optical wireless communication.
