The invention relates to projection equipment and a control method of the projection equipment, and relates to the technical field of projection, and the projection equipment of one embodiment comprises a light source, a lens, a first driving assembly, a second driving assembly, a distance sensor, a memory and a controller, the controller is configured to execute the instruction to enable the projection equipment to obtain a first moving position of the first driving assembly and obtain a target projection ratio corresponding to the first moving position based on the first relation curve; a second relation curve corresponding to the target projection ratio is generated, and the second relation curve is a curve of the corresponding relation between the distance between the lens and the projection surface and the moving position of the second driving assembly under the condition that the projection ratio is the target projection ratio; acquiring a projection distance between the lens and the projection surface; a second moving position corresponding to the projection distance is obtained based on the second relation curve, and the second driving assembly is controlled to move to the second moving position. According to the embodiment, the definition of a projection picture on the projection surface can be improved, and the projection quality is improved.
