The treatment method of the present invention comprises adding the byproduct sulfur into ice water for extraction to obtain sulfur I; mixing sulfur I, a surfactant and water for ultrasonic treatment to obtain sulfur turbid liquid I; introducing chlorine into the sulfur turbid liquid I to obtain sulfur suspension II; mixing sulfur suspension II, a catalyst and an oxidant for Fenton reaction. The present invention extracts, ultrasonically treats, introduces chlorine and reacts Fenton reaction to sulfur, a byproduct of the production process of methyl chloride or ethyl chloride, thereby eliminating the malodor generated by the reaction of S2Cl2 in the hydrolysis process; by selecting a suitable extractant, surfactant, catalyst and oxidant for the Fenton reaction, and matching corresponding process parameters, the refining process of the byproduct sulfur is realized to eliminate the malodor.
