FPGA virtualization method and device based on virtio

Abstract

The invention discloses an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) virtualization method and device based on virtio, and the method comprises the steps: in a GuestOS starting process, if an FPGA device is scanned, loading a corresponding device driver on a GuestOS kernel side; when the device driver monitors that an FPGA request exists in the GuestOS, virtquery is created, a data message is packaged and written in, and then a notification message is triggered; after the virtio FPGA equipment of the HostOS receives the notification message, the request is analyzed; and the HostOS issues the analyzed request to an FPGA manager of a corresponding hardware platform according to the FPGA hardware type, and returns a result to an FPGA request trigger in the GuestOS after execution is completed. According to the method and the device, FPGA virtualization can be realized on the basis that the virtio cannot use the FPGA equipment of the host machine in the virtual machine.
