Abstract

Techniques are disclosed for determining a baseline voltage to evaluate a sensed neural response or other sensing signal in an implantable stimulator device, which allows for a feature of a neural response or other signal to be established more easily and reliably. Characteristics of the neural response, AC characteristics indicative of the response, may be used to control or monitor stimulation in the device, and certain characteristics may vary with DC offset voltages in the tissue. The determined baseline voltage compensates for this DC offset voltage and thus allows for a more accurate and meaningful determination of certain AC characteristics of the neural response.
