Abstract

The invention relates to a method for operating a fuel cell system, in which at least one fuel cell (101) is supplied via a fuel line (20) with hydrogen from a gas tank (21) and recycled hydrogen from a recycle circuit (50) as anode gas, and the anode gas is removed from the recycle circuit (50) by temporarily opening a vent valve (41), the method is characterized in that the following steps are carried out:-opening or closing the bleed valve (41),-detecting the pressure in the fuel line (20) upstream of the hydrogen dosing valve (51),-checking whether the detected pressure profile coincides with the opening or closing of the bleed valve (41). The invention also relates to a control device (27) for carrying out the method or individual method steps.
