Abstract

The invention relates to a method and an insulation monitoring device for insulation monitoring with network balancing in an ungrounded DC voltage system. The method comprises the following steps: measuring the voltage to ground of a conductor through a voltage measuring device; the insulation resistance of the conductor is specially calculated; and compensation of the asymmetric voltage between the conductor-to-ground voltages by the control circuit. The invention includes a combination of insulation monitoring function and network balancing based on a digital control circuit, wherein the degree of asymmetry (asymmetry factor) is a control variable. The asymmetric voltage is permanently compensated by the controller via an appropriate evaluation of the (voltage) control error, and the required resistance setting value is thus detected as a manipulated variable for one of the variable resistors.
