Reconfigurable MIMO sensor antenna

Abstract

The invention provides a reconfigurable beam forming antenna device. The reconfigurable beam forming antenna device comprises a traveling wave structure, a dielectric component and a reflecting element, wherein the dielectric component is adjacent to the surface of the traveling wave structure and is spaced from the surface of the traveling wave structure, and the reflecting element is adjacent to the traveling wave structure. The reconfigurable beamforming antenna arrangement is used to provide coverage of the entire room for implementations such as, for example, using a MIMO mmWave sensor antenna topology, making it possible to conveniently assign sensors at room side or corner locations, contactless vital sign monitoring and spatial tracking of multiple persons.
