Abstract

This invention relates to the field of aquatic organism breeding technology, specifically to a method for preparing tetraploid finless char fry. Naturally mature finless char parent fish are fertilized using a dry fertilization method to obtain fertilized eggs. After 6-8 hours, the fertilized eggs are induced to produce tetraploid fry, with the induction period lasting 10-20 minutes. After obtaining the tetraploid fry, flow cytometry is used to determine the chromosome ploidy of the fish, identifying and screening the tetraploid finless char fry for further cultivation. This invention improves the induction rate and survival rate of tetraploid finless char by controlling the artificial fertilization time, employing physical or chemical induction methods, and controlling the induction duration to inhibit the first mitosis of the fertilized eggs. Experimental statistics show that the induction rate of tetraploid finless char is 20-26%, and the fry survival rate is over 80%.
