A steering system for a mining dump truck and a method of controlling the same

Abstract

The application discloses a steering system of a mine dump truck, which comprises a front steering axle, a rear steering drive axle, a steering control mechanism and a steering controller; the steering control mechanism drives the front steering axle to steer, and the steering controller controls the rear steering drive axle to steer according to the steering angle of the front steering axle; front and rear axle angle sensors are arranged on the front and rear steering axles respectively and are connected with the steering controller. A control method comprises the steps of system hardware self-checking, obtaining a front steering angle value, judging a rear steering starting condition, starting the rear steering and the like. The application has the advantages that the power performance and the steering performance are considered simultaneously; the steering requirement is accurately obtained, and the stability of the whole vehicle steering is ensured. The redundant design of the double emergency steering system can provide steering force under the premise of ensuring safety, and the rear emergency steering system can work for a long time until the vehicle returns to the factory for maintenance after the work task is completed, thereby improving the reliability of the whole steering system.
