Abstract

The invention provides a communication method and a related device, which are applied to a first terminal supporting IMS DC, and the method comprises the following steps: the first terminal receives a call request of a second terminal from a second server, and keeps a ringing state according to the call request of the second terminal; when a first instruction of a user is detected, a first message is sent to the first server, the first message is used for notifying to start a call assistant service, the first instruction is used for starting the call assistant service, and interaction between the first server and the first terminal is carried by a DC; and receiving first notification information from the first server, wherein the first notification information comprises first message information from the second terminal. According to the method, a call assistant function is provided for the terminal equipment in combination with a data channel DC function of the terminal equipment, so that the message information of a calling party is acquired without performing extra UX design on the terminal, the call is kept in the process of acquiring the message information, and the call of both parties can be recovered in real time.
