Abstract

Techniques for displaying augmented reality (XR) content include the following. An augmented reality (XR) system includes an XR device and a processor system. The processor system is configured to determine an operator orientation of an operator portion of the operator based on the first sensor data, determine a first object orientation of an object portion of the object based on the second sensor data, and determine a first feature orientation of the virtual geometric feature based on the first object orientation. The processor system is further configured to determine a first content orientation based on the operator orientation while constraining the first content orientation using a virtual geometric feature located at the first feature orientation, and cause the XR device to display XR content based on the first content orientation.
