The degree of saponification of the polyvinyl alcohol is 50-79 mol%, the viscosity of a 4 wt% aqueous solution of the polyvinyl alcohol at 20 DEG C is 2-20 mPa.s, and the content of the polyvinyl alcohol is 2-10 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the poly (3-hydroxyalkanoate) resin. An aqueous suspension can be produced by dispersing the poly (3-hydroxyalkanoate)-based powder in an aqueous medium.
