System and method for generating interactive audio

Abstract

A scenic spot system (10) includes a display operative to present augmented reality and / or virtual reality (AR / VR) images (18) to customers in an interactive space (14). The system (10) includes an audio controller (38) that operates an array of speakers (24) distributed through an interactive space (14) and a controller (32) having one or more processors (34). The one or more processors (34) are operable to receive data indicative of a status of a customer (e.g., an action, movement, or gesture of the customer, input received from an input device (28)). The one or more processors (34) are further operable to adjust the AR / VR image (18) in response to a status of the customer, and to instruct the audio controller (38) to operate the array of speakers (24) to provide interactive audio based on the status of the customer, and to cause the interactive audio to be presented to the customer as if originating from a dynamic portion of the AR / VR image (18).
