Abstract

This invention discloses a turning gear system for an impulse turbine generator set and its usage method, belonging to the field of installation, commissioning, and maintenance of large impulse turbine generator sets. The turning gear system includes a turning gear device, a turbine runner protective cover, and a turbine runner maintenance platform. The turning gear device consists of a flexible coupling, a reducer, a motor, and a support base, with the drive point located on the turbine runner in the turbine runner chamber. During turning, the runner protective cover is installed on the runner, and the turning gear device is connected to the protective cover via the flexible coupling. The starter motor drives the runner to rotate via the reducer. This solution eliminates the need to disassemble components such as the generator housing and slip rings, achieves precise alignment without the need for a flexible coupling, and avoids synchronization problems with a single motor drive, significantly improving the efficiency of unit installation, commissioning, and maintenance, simplifying the installation process, and is suitable for efficient turning operations of impulse turbine units.
