Pumping mechanism, pump and method of operating pump

Abstract

There is provided a pumping mechanism (1), in particular for a pump for administering a medical fluid to a patient, where the pumping mechanism is configured to act on a fluid conduit (21) of a pump (2), the pumping mechanism comprising a pumping section (13) movable relative to the fluid conduit such that a fluid flow through the fluid conduit is generated. The pumping mechanism comprises an eccentric ring (11) for receiving a shaft of a motor of the pump, and a plurality of connecting elements (12), each connecting element operatively coupled to the pumping section at at least one of a plurality of different positions of the pumping section and operatively coupled to the ring, such that eccentric rotational movement of the ring is converted into translational movement of each of the plurality of positions. Furthermore, a corresponding pump (2) and a mechanism for operating the pump are provided.
