Precoder design for MIMO transmission using orbital angular momentum mode

By designing an appropriate precoding matrix in OAM MIMO transmission and utilizing phase shift coefficients and power scaling factors to handle combinations of different OAM modes and polarization directions, the cross-interference problem caused by receiver and transmitter misalignment is solved, thereby improving the reliability and efficiency of data transmission.

Abstract

Methods and apparatus for an OAM precoder are disclosed. In one embodiment, an OAM transmitter includes a TX antenna; and a processor, where the processor is configured to: transmit, via the TX antenna, at least two OAM modes, including an OAM mode (l, p) and an OAM mode (-l, p), where l is a positive integer and p is a non-negative integer, each OAM mode transmitting a layer of signal in each utilized polarization; and applying the precoding matrix to the transmission of at least (l, p) and (-l, p) to mitigate cross interference between (l, p) and (-l, p).
